01-GENESIS
01-3:5 For God doth
know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your
eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
01-9:2 And the
fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and
upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and
upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand
are they delivered.
01-9:5 And
surely your blood of your
lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the
hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.
01-9:9 And I,
behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your
seed after you;
01-17:11 And ye
shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and
it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
01-17:12 And he
that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or
bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
01-17:13 He that is
born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be
circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your
flesh for an everlasting covenant.
01-18:4 Let a
little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your
feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
01-18:5 And I
will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your
hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
01-19:2 And he
said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your
servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your
feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your
ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
01-19:8 Behold
now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring
them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for
therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
01-23:8 And he
communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that
I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron
the son of Zohar,
01-31:5 And said
unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that
it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with
me.
01-31:6 And ye
know that with all my power I have served your
father.
01-31:7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten
times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
01-31:9 Thus God
hath taken away the cattle of your father, and
given them to me.
01-31:29 It is in
the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your
father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to
Jacob either good or bad.
01-34:8 And Hamor
communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.
01-34:9 And make
ye marriages with us, and give your
daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.
01-34:11 And
Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
01-34:16 Then will
we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your
daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
01-35:2 Then
Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away
the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
01-37:7 For,
behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose,
and also stood upright; and, behold, your
sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.
01-42:15 Hereby ye
shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither.
01-42:16 Send one
of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye
shall be kept in prison, that your words may be
proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of
Pharaoh surely ye are spies.
01-42:19 If ye be
true men, let one of your brethren be
bound in the house of your prison: go ye, carry
corn for the famine of your houses:
01-42:20 But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they
did so.
01-42:33 And the
man, the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true
men; leave one of your brethren here with
me, and take food for the famine of your
households, and be gone:
01-42:34 And bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that
ye are no spies, but that ye are true men: so will
I deliver you your brother, and ye shall traffick
in the land.
01-43:3 And Judah
spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall
not see my face, except your brother be with
you.
01-43:5 But if
thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us,
Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be
with you.
01-43:7 And they
said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is
your father yet alive? have ye another brother?
and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know
that he would say, Bring your brother down?
01-43:11 And their
father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the
best fruits in the land in your vessels, and
carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and
myrrh, nuts, and almonds:
01-43:12 And take
double money in your hand; and the money that
was brought again in the mouth of your sacks,
carry it again in your hand; peradventure
it was an oversight:
01-43:13 Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:
01-43:14 And God
Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of
my children, I am bereaved.
01-43:23 And he
said, Peace be to you, fear not: your
God, and the God of your father, hath given you
treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.
01-43:27 And he
asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet
alive?
01-43:29 And he
lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, Is
this your younger brother, of whom ye spake
unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.
01-44:10 And he
said, Now also let it be according unto your
words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless.
01-44:17 And he
said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup
is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.
01-44:23 And thou
saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest
brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.
01-45:4 And
Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near.
And he said, I am Joseph your brother,
whom ye sold into Egypt.
01-45:7 And God
sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
01-45:12 And,
behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my
brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.
01-45:17 And
Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;
01-45:18 And take your father and your
households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of
Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
01-45:19 Now thou
art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your
wives, and bring your father, and come.
01-45:20 Also
regard not your stuff; for the good of all the
land of Egypt is yours.
01-46:33 And it
shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
01-47:3 And
Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your
occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both
we, and also our fathers.
01-47:16 And Joseph
said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.
01-47:23 Then
Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for
you, and ye shall sow the land.
01-47:24 And it
shall come to pass in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth part unto
Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for
seed of the field, and for your food, and for them
of your households, and for food for your little ones.
01-48:21 And Israel
said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again
unto the land of your fathers.
01-49:2 Gather
yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
01-50:4 And when
the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh,
saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes,
speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
01-50:21 Now
therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your
little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
02-3:13 And Moses
said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and
shall say unto them, The God of your fathers
hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what
shall I say unto them?
02-3:15 And God
said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The
LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my
name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
02-3:16 Go, and
gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of
Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that
which is done to you in Egypt:
02-3:22 But every
woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels
of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your
daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
02-5:4 And the
king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people
from their works? get you unto your burdens.
02-5:11 Go ye,
get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your
work shall be diminished.
02-5:13 And the
taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your
works, your daily tasks, as when there
was straw.
02-5:14 And the
officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over
them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day,
as heretofore?
02-5:19 And the officers
of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case,
after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your
daily task.
02-6:7 And I
will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know
that I am the LORD your God, which
bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
02-8:25 And
Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.
02-8:28 And
Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very
far away: intreat for me.
02-10:8 And Moses
and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the
LORD your God: but who are they
that shall go?
02-10:10 And he
said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before
you.
02-10:16 Then
Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against
the LORD your God, and against you.
02-10:17 Now
therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death
only.
02-10:24 And
Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your
herds be stayed: let your little ones also go
with you.
02-12:4 And if
the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto
his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man
according to his eating shall make your count
for the lamb.
02-12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the
first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
02-12:11 And thus
shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your
feet, and your staff in your
hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S passover.
02-12:14 And this
day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD
throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a
feast by an ordinance for ever.
02-12:15 Seven days
shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out
of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened
bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from
Israel.
02-12:17 And ye
shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day
have I brought your armies out of the land of
Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your
generations by an ordinance for ever.
02-12:19 Seven days
shall there be no leaven found in your houses:
for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off
from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
02-12:20 Ye shall
eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations
shall ye eat unleavened bread.
02-12:21 Then Moses
called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you
a lamb according to your families, and kill the
passover.
02-12:23 For the
LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon
the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and
will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your
houses to smite you.
02-12:26 And it
shall come to pass, when your children shall say
unto you, What mean ye by this service?
02-12:32 Also take your flocks and your
herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.
02-14:14 The LORD
shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your
peace.
02-16:7 And in
the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we,
that ye murmur against us?
02-16:8 And Moses
said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh
to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are
we? your murmurings are not against
us, but against the LORD.
02-16:9 And Moses
spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come
near before the LORD: for he hath heard your
murmurings.
02-16:12 I have
heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At
even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and
ye shall know that I am the LORD your
God.
02-16:16 This is
the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according
to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are
in his tents.
02-16:32 And Moses
said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to
be kept for your generations; that they may see
the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth
from the land of Egypt.
02-16:33 And Moses said
unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up
before the LORD, to be kept for your
generations.
02-19:15 And he
said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.
02-20:20 And Moses
said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear
may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
02-22:24 And my
wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
02-23:21 Beware of
him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
02-23:25 And ye
shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall
bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of
thee.
02-23:31 And I will
set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from
the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.
02-29:42 This
shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your
generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the
LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.
02-30:8 And when
Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual
incense before the LORD throughout your
generations.
02-30:10 And Aaron
shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of
the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon
it throughout your generations: it is most
holy unto the LORD.
02-30:15 The rich
shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they
give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.
02-30:16 And thou
shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it
for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a
memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.
02-30:31 And thou
shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy
anointing oil unto me throughout your
generations.
02-31:13 Speak thou
also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for
it is a sign between me and you throughout your
generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth
sanctify you.
02-32:2 And Aaron
said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your
sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto
me.
02-32:13 Remember
Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own
self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your
seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I
give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it
for ever.
02-32:30 And it
came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a
great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an
atonement for your sin.
02-34:23 Thrice in
the year shall all your menchildren appear
before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.
02-35:3 Ye shall
kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon
the sabbath day.
03-1:2 Speak unto
the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering
unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of
the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
03-3:17 It
shall be a perpetual statute for your
generations throughout all your dwellings, that
ye eat neither fat nor blood.
03-6:18 All the
males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it. It shall be a statute
for ever in your generations concerning the
offerings of the LORD made by fire: every one that toucheth them shall be holy.
03-7:26 Moreover
ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in
any of your dwellings.
03-7:32 And the
right shoulder shall ye give unto the priest for an heave offering of
the sacrifices of your peace offerings.
03-8:33 And ye
shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven
days, until the days of your consecration be at
an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you.
03-10:4 And Moses
called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said
unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from
before the sanctuary out of the camp.
03-10:6 And Moses
said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your
clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the
burning which the LORD hath kindled.
03-10:9 Do not
drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the
tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for
ever throughout your generations:
03-11:44 For I am
the LORD your God: ye shall therefore
sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye
defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the
earth.
03-11:45 For I am
the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
03-14:34 When ye be
come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put
the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your
possession;
03-16:29 And this
shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on
the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your
souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among
you:
03-16:30 For on
that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that
ye may be clean from all your sins before
the LORD.
03-16:31 It shall
be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
03-17:11 For the
life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the
altar to make an atonement for your souls: for
it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
03-17:15 And every
soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with
beasts, whether it be one of your own
country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in
water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
03-18:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.
03-18:4 Ye shall
do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the
LORD your God.
03-18:26 Ye shall
therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of
these abominations; neither any of your
own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
03-18:30 Therefore
shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these
abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not
yourselves therein: I am the LORD your
God.
03-19:2 Speak
unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye
shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.
03-19:3 Ye shall
fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the
LORD your God.
03-19:4 Turn ye
not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.
03-19:5 And if ye
offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.
03-19:9 And when
ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not
wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings
of thy harvest.
03-19:10 And thou
shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of
thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the
LORD your God.
03-19:25 And in the
fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the
increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.
03-19:27 Ye shall
not round the corners of your heads, neither
shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
03-19:28 Ye shall
not make any cuttings in your flesh for the
dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
03-19:31 Regard not
them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by
them: I am the LORD your God.
03-19:33 And if a
stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye
shall not vex him.
03-19:34 But the
stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and
thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am
the LORD your God.
03-19:36 Just
balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the
LORD your God, which brought you out of the land
of Egypt.
03-20:7 Sanctify
yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
03-20:24 But I have
said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to
possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.
03-20:25 Ye shall
therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean
fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth
on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
03-22:3 Say unto
them, Whosoever he be of all your seed
among your generations, that goeth unto the holy
things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his
uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the
LORD.
03-22:19 Ye
shall offer at your own will a male without
blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.
03-22:24 Ye shall
not offer unto the LORD that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut;
neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your
land.
03-22:25 Neither
from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your
God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes
be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.
03-22:29 And when
ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will.
03-22:33 That
brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your
God: I am the LORD.
03-23:3 Six days
shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy
convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of
the LORD in all your dwellings.
03-23:10 Speak unto
the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which
I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a
sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto
the priest:
03-23:14 And ye
shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame
day that ye have brought an offering unto your
God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your
generations in all your dwellings.
03-23:17 Ye shall
bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of
two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they
are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
03-23:21 And ye
shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation
unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for
ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
03-23:22 And when
ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not
make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither
shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the
poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your
God.
03-23:27 Also on
the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of
atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto
the LORD.
03-23:28 And ye
shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make
an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
03-23:31 Ye shall
do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your
dwellings.
03-23:32 It shall
be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even
unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
03-23:38 Beside the
sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and
beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
03-23:40 And ye
shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm
trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall
rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
03-23:41 And ye
shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a
statute for ever in your generations: ye shall
celebrate it in the seventh month.
03-23:43 That your generations may know that I made the children of
Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am
the LORD your God.
03-24:3 Without
the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron
order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it
shall be a statute for ever in your
generations.
03-24:22 Ye shall
have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.
03-25:9 Then
shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of
the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound
throughout all your land.
03-25:17 Ye shall
not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the
LORD your God.
03-25:19 And the
land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your
fill, and dwell therein in safety.
03-25:24 And in all
the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption
for the land.
03-25:38 I am the
LORD your God, which brought you forth out of
the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.
03-25:45 Moreover
of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye
buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your
possession.
03-25:46 And ye
shall take them as an inheritance for your
children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not
rule one over another with rigour.
03-25:55 For unto
me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom
I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
03-26:1 Ye shall
make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image,
neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your
land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your
God.
03-26:5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the
vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
03-26:6 And I
will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid:
and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
03-26:7 And ye
shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall
before you by the sword.
03-26:8 And five
of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to
flight: and your enemies shall fall before you
by the sword.
03-26:12 And I will
walk among you, and will be your God, and ye
shall be my people.
03-26:13 I am the
LORD your God, which brought you forth out of
the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the
bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
03-26:15 And if ye
shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor
my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye
break my covenant:
03-26:16 I also
will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and
the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and
ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
03-26:17 And I will
set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your
enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none
pursueth you.
03-26:18 And if ye
will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times
more for your sins.
03-26:19 And I will
break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your
earth as brass:
03-26:20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall
the trees of the land yield their fruits.
03-26:21 And if ye
walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times
more plagues upon you according to your sins.
03-26:22 I will
also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your
cattle, and make you few in number; and your high
ways shall be desolate.
03-26:24 Then will
I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
03-26:25 And I will
bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant:
and when ye are gathered together within your
cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into
the hand of the enemy.
03-26:26 And when
I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women
shall bake your bread in one oven, and they
shall deliver you your bread again by
weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
03-26:28 Then I
will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you
seven times for your sins.
03-26:29 And ye
shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh
of your daughters shall ye eat.
03-26:30 And I will
destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your
carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my
soul shall abhor you.
03-26:31 And I will
make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell
the savour of your sweet odours.
03-26:32 And I will
bring the land into desolation: and your enemies
which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
03-26:33 And I will
scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
03-26:34 Then shall
the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land
rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
03-26:35 As long as
it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
03-26:37 And they shall
fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye
shall have no power to stand before your
enemies.
03-26:38 And ye
shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your
enemies shall eat you up.
03-26:39 And they
that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of
their fathers shall they pine away with them.
04-9:10 Speak
unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead
body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto
the LORD.
04-10:8 And the
sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to
you for an ordinance for ever throughout your
generations.
04-10:9 And if ye
go to war in your land against the enemy that
oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be
remembered before the LORD your God, and ye
shall be saved from your enemies.
04-10:10 Also in
the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a
memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.
04-11:20 But even
a whole month, until it come out at your
nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD
which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth
out of Egypt?
04-14:29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all
that were numbered of you, according to your
whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,
04-14:31 But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them
will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
04-14:32 But as
for you, your carcases, they shall fall in
this wilderness.
04-14:33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty
years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
04-14:34 After the
number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each
day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even
forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
04-14:42 Go not up,
for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.
04-15:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land
of your habitations, which I give unto you,
04-15:3 And will
make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in
performing a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your
solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the herd, or of the
flock:
04-15:14 And if a
stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by
fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall do.
04-15:15 One
ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the
stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the
stranger be before the LORD.
04-15:20 Ye shall
offer up a cake of the first of your dough for
an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the
threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it.
04-15:21 Of the
first of your dough ye shall give unto the LORD
an heave offering in your generations.
04-15:23 Even all
that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the
LORD commanded Moses, and henceforward among your
generations;
04-15:39 And it
shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the
commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your
own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
04-15:40 That ye
may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
04-15:41 I am the
LORD your God, which brought you out of the land
of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.
04-18:1 And the
LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall
bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear
the iniquity of your priesthood.
04-18:6 And I,
behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites
from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a
gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
04-18:7 Therefore
thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your
priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall
serve: I have given your priest’s office unto
you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to
death.
04-18:23 But the
Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they
shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel
they have no inheritance.
04-18:26 Thus speak
unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the
tithes which I have given you from them for your
inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even
a tenth part of the tithe.
04-18:27 And this
your heave offering shall be reckoned unto
you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the
fulness of the winepress.
04-18:28 Thus ye also
shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your
tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof
the LORD’S heave offering to Aaron the priest.
04-18:29 Out of all
your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering
of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out
of it.
04-18:31 And ye
shall eat it in every place, ye and your
households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
04-22:13 And Balaam
rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to
go with you.
04-28:11 And in the
beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt
offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the
first year without spot;
04-28:26 Also in
the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the LORD,
after your weeks be out, ye shall have an
holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:
04-29:7 And ye
shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation;
and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do
any work therein:
04-29:39 These things
ye shall do unto the LORD in your set
feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your
burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings,
and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.
04-31:19 And do ye
abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and
whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh
day.
04-31:20 And purify
all your raiment, and all that is made of
skins, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.
04-31:24 And ye
shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and
ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
04-32:6 And Moses
said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?
04-32:8 Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadeshbarnea to
see the land.
04-32:14 And,
behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead,
an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward
Israel.
04-32:22 And the
land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be
guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD.
04-32:23 But if ye
will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
04-32:24 Build you
cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.
04-33:54 And ye
shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your
families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the
fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man’s inheritance shall
be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.
04-33:55 But if ye
will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall
come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your
sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
04-34:3 Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin
along by the coast of Edom, and your south
border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward:
04-34:4 And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of
Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the
south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon:
04-34:6 And as
for the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this
shall be your west border.
04-34:7 And this
shall be your north border: from the great sea
ye shall point out for you mount Hor:
04-34:8 From
mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto
the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:
04-34:9 And the
border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan:
this shall be your north border.
04-34:10 And ye
shall point out your east border from Hazarenan
to Shepham:
04-34:12 And the
border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt
sea: this shall be your land with the coasts
thereof round about.
04-35:29 So these things
shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your
dwellings.
05-1:7 Turn
you, and take your journey, and go to the mount
of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain,
in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the
land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
05-1:8 Behold,
I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware
unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to
give unto them and to their seed after them.
05-1:10 The LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this
day as the stars of heaven for multitude.
05-1:11 (The LORD
God of your fathers make you a thousand times so
many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)
05-1:12 How can I
myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your
strife?
05-1:13 Take you
wise men, and understanding, and known among your
tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
05-1:15 So I took
the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known,
and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over
hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among
your tribes.
05-1:16 And I
charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the
causes between your brethren, and judge
righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that
is with him.
05-1:26 Notwithstanding
ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God:
05-1:27 And ye
murmured in your tents, and said, Because the
LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us
into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
05-1:30 The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for
you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
05-1:32 Yet in this
thing ye did not believe the LORD your God,
05-1:33 Who went
in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by
what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.
05-1:34 And the
LORD heard the voice of your words, and was
wroth, and sware, saying,
05-1:35 Surely
there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land,
which I sware to give unto your fathers,
05-1:37 Also the
LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying,
Thou also shalt not go in thither.
05-1:39 Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge
between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it,
and they shall possess it.
05-1:40 But as
for you, turn you, and take your journey
into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
05-1:42 And the
LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not
among you; lest ye be smitten before your
enemies.
05-1:45 And ye
returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you.
05-2:4 And
command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in
Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves
therefore:
05-2:24 Rise ye
up, take your journey, and pass over the river
Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon,
and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
05-3:18 And I
commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your
God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet
for the war.
05-3:19 But your wives, and your
little ones, and your cattle, (for I know
that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your
cities which I have given you;
05-3:20 Until the
LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well
as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall
ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
05-3:21 And I
commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the
LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.
05-3:22 Ye shall
not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall
fight for you.
05-3:26 But the
LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would
not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto
me of this matter.
05-4:1 Now
therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I
teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the
land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth
you.
05-4:2 Ye shall
not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from
it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your
God which I command you.
05-4:3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of
Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath
destroyed them from among you.
05-4:4 But ye
that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive
every one of you this day.
05-4:6 Keep
therefore and do them; for this is your
wisdom and your understanding in the sight of
the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great
nation is a wise and understanding people.
05-4:21 Furthermore
the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and
sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that
good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:
05-4:23 Take heed
unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a
graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy
God hath forbidden thee.
05-4:26 I call
heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly
perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall
not prolong your days upon it, but shall
utterly be destroyed.
05-4:34 Or hath
God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation,
by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and
by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
05-5:1 And
Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and
judgments which I speak in your ears this day,
that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
05-5:22 These
words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in
the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick
darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two
tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.
05-5:23 And it
came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for
the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all
the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
05-5:28 And the
LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye
spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words
of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that
they have spoken.
05-5:30 Go say to
them, Get you into your tents again.
05-5:32 Ye shall
observe to do therefore as the LORD your God
hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
05-5:33 Ye shall
walk in all the ways which the LORD your God
hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you,
and that ye may prolong your days
in the land which ye shall possess.
05-6:1 Now
these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the
LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye
might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
05-6:16 Ye shall
not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him
in Massah.
05-6:17 Ye shall diligently
keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and
his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
05-7:8 But
because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had
sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought
you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from
the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
05-7:14 Thou
shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren
among you, or among your cattle.
05-8:1 All the commandments
which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and
multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.
05-8:20 As the
nations which the LORD destroyeth before your
face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of
the LORD your God.
05-9:16 And I
looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the LORD your
God, and had made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of
the way which the LORD had commanded you.
05-9:17 And I
took the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands, and brake them before your eyes.
05-9:18 And I
fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did
neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your
sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke
him to anger.
05-9:21 And I
took your sin, the calf which ye had made, and
burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even
until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the brook
that descended out of the mount.
05-9:23 Likewise
when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land
which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to
his voice.
05-10:16 Circumcise
therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no
more stiffnecked.
05-10:17 For the
LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of
lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor
taketh reward:
05-11:2 And know
ye this day: for I speak not with your
children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the
LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand,
and his stretched out arm,
05-11:7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD
which he did.
05-11:9 And that
ye may prolong your days in the land,
which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give
unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
05-11:13 And it
shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I
command you this day, to love the LORD your God,
and to serve him with all your heart and with
all your soul,
05-11:14 That I
will give you the rain of your land in
his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in
thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
05-11:16 Take heed
to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and
ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
05-11:18 Therefore
shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and
in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
05-11:19 And ye
shall teach them your children, speaking of them
when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou
liest down, and when thou risest up.
05-11:21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon
the earth.
05-11:22 For if ye
shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them,
to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his
ways, and to cleave unto him;
05-11:24 Every
place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread
shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river
Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your
coast be.
05-11:25 There
shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of
you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
05-11:27 A
blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your
God, which I command you this day:
05-11:28 And a
curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this
day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
05-11:31 For ye
shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and
dwell therein.
05-12:4 Ye shall
not do so unto the LORD your God.
05-12:5 But unto
the place which the LORD your God shall choose
out of all your tribes to put his name there, even
unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
05-12:6 And
thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and
your sacrifices, and your
tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your
freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your
herds and of your flocks:
05-12:7 And there
ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye
shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto,
ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God
hath blessed thee.
05-12:9 For ye
are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.
05-12:10 But when
ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he
giveth you rest from all your enemies round
about, so that ye dwell in safety;
05-12:11 Then there
shall be a place which the LORD your God shall
choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I
command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your
tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and
all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:
05-12:12 And ye
shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your
daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within
your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor
inheritance with you.
05-13:3 Thou
shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams:
for the LORD your God proveth you, to know
whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your
soul.
05-13:4 Ye shall
walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and
keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave
unto him.
05-13:5 And that
prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath
spoken to turn you away from the LORD your
God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the
house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God
commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of
thee.
05-14:1 Ye are
the children of the LORD your God: ye shall
not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your
eyes for the dead.
05-20:3 And shall
say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your
hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of
them;
05-20:4 For the
LORD your God is he that goeth with you,
to fight for you against your enemies, to save
you.
05-20:18 That they
teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto
their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your
God.
05-28:68 And the
LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake
unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man
shall buy you.
05-29:2 And Moses
called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did
before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto
Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
05-29:5 And I
have led you forty years in the wilderness: your
clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy
foot.
05-29:6 Ye have
not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know
that I am the LORD your God.
05-29:10 Ye stand
this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your
tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,
05-29:11 Your little ones, your
wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood
unto the drawer of thy water:
05-29:22 So that
the generation to come of your children that
shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land,
shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the
LORD hath laid upon it;
05-30:18 I denounce
unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not
prolong your days upon the land, whither thou
passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
05-31:5 And the
LORD shall give them up before your face, that
ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded
you.
05-31:12 Gather the
people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within
thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:
05-31:13 And that
their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn
to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in
the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
05-31:26 Take this
book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against
thee.
05-31:28 Gather
unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their
ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.
05-31:29 For I know
that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside
from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter
days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger
through the work of your hands.
05-32:17 They sacrificed
unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came
newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
05-32:38 Which did
eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink
offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.
05-32:46 And he
said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the
words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this
law.
05-32:47 For it is
not a vain thing for you; because it is your
life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your
days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
06-1:3 Every
place that the sole of your foot shall tread
upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
06-1:4 From the
wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all
the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the
sun, shall be your coast.
06-1:11 Pass through
the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within
three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which
the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.
06-1:13 Remember
the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this
land.
06-1:14 Your wives, your little
ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land
which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and
help them;
06-1:15 Until the
LORD have given your brethren rest, as he
hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the
land of your possession, and enjoy it, which
Moses the LORD’S servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
06-2:9 And she
said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the
inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
06-2:11 And as
soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did
there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in
earth beneath.
06-2:16 And she
said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide
yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may
ye go your way.
06-2:21 And she
said, According unto your words, so be it.
And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in
the window.
06-3:3 And they
commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then
ye shall remove from your place, and go after
it.
06-3:9 And
Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the
LORD your God.
06-4:5 And
Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up every
man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes
of the children of Israel:
06-4:6 That
this may be a sign among you, that when your
children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye
by these stones?
06-4:21 And he
spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your
children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these
stones?
06-4:22 Then ye
shall let your children know, saying, Israel
came over this Jordan on dry land.
06-4:23 For the
LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from
before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your
God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone
over:
06-4:24 That all
the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty:
that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
06-6:10 And
Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise
with your voice, neither shall any word
proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid
you shout; then shall ye shout.
06-7:14 In the
morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your
tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORD taketh shall come
according to the families thereof; and the family which the LORD shall
take shall come by households; and the household which the LORD shall take
shall come man by man.
06-8:7 Then ye
shall rise up from the ambush, and seize upon the city: for the LORD your God will deliver it into your
hand.
06-9:11 Wherefore
our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take
victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are
your servants: therefore now make ye a
league with us.
06-10:19 And stay
ye not, but pursue after your enemies,
and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for
the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.
06-10:24 And it
came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called
for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which
went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the
necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of
them.
06-10:25 And Joshua
said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for
thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies
against whom ye fight.
06-15:4 From
thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and
the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.
06-18:3 And
Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to
possess the land, which the LORD God of your
fathers hath given you?
06-20:3 That the
slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee
thither: and they shall be your refuge from the
avenger of blood.
06-22:3 Ye have
not left your brethren these many days unto this
day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.
06-22:4 And now
the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now
return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto
the land of your possession, which Moses the
servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
06-22:5 But take diligent
heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD
charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to
walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and
to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
06-22:8 And he
spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your
tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass,
and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your
brethren.
06-22:19 Notwithstanding,
if the land of your possession be unclean,
then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein
the LORD’S tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not
against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the
altar of the LORD our God.
06-22:24 And if we
have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time
to come your children might speak unto our
children, saying, What have ye to do with the LORD God of Israel?
06-22:25 For the
LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and
children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your
children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
06-22:27 But that
it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after
us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt
offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to
come, Ye have no part in the LORD.
06-23:3 And ye
have seen all that the LORD your God hath done
unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your
God is he that hath fought for you.
06-23:4 Behold, I
have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance
for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the
nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.
06-23:5 And the
LORD your God, he shall expel them from before
you, and drive them from out of your sight; and
ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your
God hath promised unto you.
06-23:8 But
cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done
unto this day.
06-23:10 One man of
you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your
God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
06-23:11 Take good
heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your
God.
06-23:13 Know for a
certainty that the LORD your God will no more
drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares
and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides,
and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from
off this good land which the LORD your God hath
given you.
06-23:14 And,
behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all
your hearts and in all your
souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass
unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
06-23:15 Therefore
it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which
the LORD your God promised you; so shall the
LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this
good land which the LORD your God hath given
you.
06-23:16 When ye
have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your
God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed
yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you,
and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto
you.
06-24:2 And
Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in
old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor:
and they served other gods.
06-24:3 And I took
your father Abraham from the other side of the
flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed,
and gave him Isaac.
06-24:6 And I
brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came
unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your
fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.
06-24:7 And when
they cried unto the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and
brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your
eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long
season.
06-24:8 And I
brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side
Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your
hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.
06-24:11 And ye
went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against
you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites,
and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.
06-24:14 Now
therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away
the gods which your fathers served on the other
side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
06-24:15 And if it
seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served that were
on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land
ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
06-24:19 And Joshua
said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God;
he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your
transgressions nor your sins.
06-24:23 Now
therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among
you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of
Israel.
06-24:27 And Joshua
said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it
hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be
therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your
God.
07-2:1 And an
angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up
out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my
covenant with you.
07-2:3 Wherefore
I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as
thorns in your sides, and their gods shall
be a snare unto you.
07-3:28 And he
said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of
Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.
07-6:10 And I
said unto you, I am the LORD your God;
fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not
obeyed my voice.
07-7:15 And it
was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the
interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of
Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
07-8:3 God hath
delivered into your hands the princes of Midian,
Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger
was abated toward him, when he had said that.
07-8:7 And
Gideon said, Therefore when the LORD hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into
mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the
thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
07-9:2 Speak, I
pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for
you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten
persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am
your bone and your
flesh.
07-9:15 And the
bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come
and put your trust in my shadow: and if
not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.
07-9:18 And ye
are risen up against my father’s house this day, and have slain his sons,
threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of
his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;)
07-10:14 Go and cry
unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
07-11:9 And
Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight
against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
07-18:6 And the
priest said unto them, Go in peace: before the LORD is your way wherein ye go.
07-18:10 When ye
go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and to a large land: for God hath given
it into your hands; a place where there is no
want of any thing that is in the earth.
07-19:5 And it
came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he
rose up to depart: and the damsel’s father said unto his son in law, Comfort
thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your
way.
07-19:9 And when
the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in
law, the damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward
evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge
here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
07-19:30 And it was
so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the
day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day:
consider of it, take advice, and speak your
minds.
07-20:7 Behold,
ye are all children of Israel; give here your
advice and counsel.
08-1:11 And Naomi
said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any
more sons in my womb, that they may be your
husbands?
08-1:12 Turn
again, my daughters, go your way; for I
am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should
have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;
08-1:13 Would ye
tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having
husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out
against me.
09-2:3 Talk no
more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge,
and by him actions are weighed.
09-2:23 And he
said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your
evil dealings by all this people.
09-6:4 Then
said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to
him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the
number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all,
and on your lords.
09-6:5 Wherefore
ye shall make images of your emerods, and images
of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall
give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from
off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
09-6:6 Wherefore
then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians
and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them,
did they not let the people go, and they departed?
09-7:3 And
Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the
LORD with all your hearts, then put away
the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he
will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
09-8:11 And he
said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will
take your sons, and appoint them for
himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall
run before his chariots.
09-8:13 And he
will take your daughters to be confectionaries,
and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
09-8:14 And he
will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your
oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his
servants.
09-8:15 And he
will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his
servants.
09-8:16 And he
will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your
goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them
to his work.
09-8:17 He will
take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be
his servants.
09-8:18 And ye
shall cry out in that day because of your king
which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
09-10:19 And ye
have this day rejected your God, who himself
saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but
set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your
thousands.
09-11:2 And
Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a
covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your
right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.
09-12:1 And
Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made
a king over you.
09-12:6 And
Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and
Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of
the land of Egypt.
09-12:7 Now
therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the
righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your
fathers.
09-12:8 When
Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers
cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this
place.
09-12:11 And the
LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out
of the hand of your enemies on every side, and
ye dwelled safe.
09-12:12 And when
ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said
unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your
king.
09-12:14 If ye will
fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the
commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth
over you continue following the LORD your God:
09-12:15 But if ye
will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the
LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.
09-12:16 Now
therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.
09-12:17 Is it not
wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and
rain; that ye may perceive and see that your
wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in
asking you a king.
09-12:20 And Samuel
said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not
aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;
09-12:24 Only fear
the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your
heart; for consider how great things he hath done for you.
09-12:25 But if ye
shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.
09-17:8 And he
stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come
out to set your battle in array? am not
I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him
come down to me.
09-17:9 If he be
able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your
servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our
servants, and serve us.
09-26:16 This thing
is not good that thou hast done. As the LORD liveth, ye are worthy
to die, because ye have not kept your master,
the LORD’S anointed. And now see where the king’s spear is, and the
cruse of water that was at his bolster.
10-1:24 Ye
daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights,
who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
10-2:5 And
David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed
be ye of the LORD, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.
10-2:7 Therefore
now let your hands be strengthened, and be ye
valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also
the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.
10-3:31 And David
said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn
before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.
10-4:11 How much
more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his
bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your
hand, and take you away from the earth?
10-10:5 When they
told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly
ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your
beards be grown, and then return.
10-15:27 The king
said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the
city in peace, and your two sons with you,
Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.
11-1:33 The king
also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your
lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down
to Gihon:
11-8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God,
to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
11-9:6 But if
ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your
children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have
set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
11-11:2 Of the
nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye
shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely
they will turn away your heart after their gods:
Solomon clave unto these in love.
11-12:11 And now
whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips,
but I will chastise you with scorpions.
11-12:14 And spake
to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with
whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
11-12:16 So when
all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the
king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance
in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel:
now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.
11-12:24 Thus saith
the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your
brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing
is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to
depart, according to the word of the LORD.
11-18:24 And call
ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on
the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And
all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
11-18:25 And Elijah
said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and
dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
12-2:3 And the
sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said
unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to
day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your
peace.
12-2:5 And the sons
of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him,
Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And
he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your
peace.
12-3:17 For thus saith
the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley
shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your
beasts.
12-3:18 And this
is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the
Moabites also into your hand.
12-9:15 But king
Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had
given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape
out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.
12-10:2 Now as
soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your
master’s sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and
horses, a fenced city also, and armour;
12-10:3 Look even
out the best and meetest of your master’s sons,
and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.
12-10:6 Then he
wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if
ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to
morrow this time. Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with
the great men of the city, which brought them up.
12-10:24 And when
they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore
men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his
life shall be for the life of him.
12-12:7 Then king
Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto
them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more
money of your acquaintance, but deliver it
for the breaches of the house.
12-17:13 Yet the
LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and
by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your
evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all
the law which I commanded your fathers, and
which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
12-17:39 But the
LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall
deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
12-18:32 Until I
come and take you away to a land like your own
land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil
olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto
Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.
12-19:6 And
Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your
master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with
which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
12-23:21 And the
king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover unto the LORD your God, as it is written in the book of this
covenant.
13-15:12 And said
unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify
yourselves, both ye and your brethren,
that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I
have prepared for it.
13-16:18 Saying, Unto
thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your
inheritance;
13-19:5 Then
there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent
to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at
Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
13-22:18 Is not
the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given
you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine
hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
13-22:19 Now set your heart and your
soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore,
and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of
the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to
the name of the LORD.
13-28:8 Now
therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the
audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and
leave it for an inheritance for your
children after you for ever.
13-29:20 And David
said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your
God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed
down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.
14-10:11 For
whereas my father put a heavy yoke upon you, I will put more to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will
chastise you with scorpions.
14-10:14 And
answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father
chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
14-10:16 And when
all Israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them, the people
answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none
inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your
tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel
went to their tents.
14-11:4 Thus
saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your
brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they
obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
14-13:12 And,
behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with
sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not
against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye
shall not prosper.
14-15:7 Be ye
strong therefore, and let not your hands be
weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
14-18:14 And when
he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to
Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper,
and they shall be delivered into your hand.
14-19:10 And what
cause soever shall come to you of your brethren
that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and
commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass
not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
14-20:20 And they
rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as
they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye
inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your
God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
14-24:5 And he
gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto
the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the
matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.
14-28:9 But a
prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out
before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the
LORD God of your fathers was wroth with Judah,
he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye
have slain them in a rage that reacheth up unto heaven.
14-28:10 And now ye
purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and
bondwomen unto you: but are there not with you, even with you, sins
against the LORD your God?
14-28:11 Now hear
me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the LORD is upon
you.
14-29:5 And said
unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house
of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth
the filthiness out of the holy place.
14-29:8 Wherefore
the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them
to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.
14-30:7 And be
not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God
of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
14-30:8 Now be ye
not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield
yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath
sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your
God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
14-30:9 For if ye
turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them
that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the
LORD your God is gracious and merciful,
and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
14-32:14 Who was
there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly
destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine
hand?
14-32:15 Now therefore
let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet
believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people
out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?
14-33:8 Neither
will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have
appointed for your fathers; so that they will
take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and
the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
14-35:3 And said
unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the
holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it
shall not be a burden upon your shoulders:
serve now the LORD your God, and his people
Israel,
14-35:4 And
prepare yourselves by the houses of your
fathers, after your courses, according to the
writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his
son.
14-35:5 And stand
in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the
fathers of your brethren the people, and after
the division of the families of the Levites.
14-35:6 So kill
the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your
brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand
of Moses.
15-4:2 Then
they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them,
Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as
ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of
Assur, which brought us up hither.
15-6:6 Now therefore,
Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond
the river, be ye far from thence:
15-7:17 That thou
mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat
offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house
of your God which is in Jerusalem.
15-7:18 And
whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of
the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your
God.
15-8:28 And I
said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy
also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD
God of your fathers.
15-9:12 Now
therefore give not your daughters unto their
sons, neither take their daughters unto your
sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and
eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.
15-10:11 Now
therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your
fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the
land, and from the strange wives.
16-4:14 And I
looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the
rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great
and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your
daughters, your wives, and your houses.
16-5:8 And I
said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which
were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your
brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found
nothing to answer.
16-8:9 And Nehemiah,
which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites
that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto
the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all
the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
16-8:10 Then he
said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and
drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this
day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the
LORD is your strength.
16-8:11 So the Levites
stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace,
for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.
16-9:5 Then the
Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and
Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which
is exalted above all blessing and praise.
16-13:18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this
evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by
profaning the sabbath.
16-13:25 And I
contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked
off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their
daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
18-6:22 Did I
say, Bring unto me? or, Give a reward for me of your
substance?
18-6:25 How
forcible are right words! but what doth your
arguing reprove?
18-6:27 Yea, ye
overwhelm the fatherless, and ye dig a pit for your
friend.
18-13:5 O that ye
would altogether hold your peace! and it should
be your wisdom.
18-13:12 Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.
18-13:13 Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let
come on me what will.
18-13:17 Hear
diligently my speech, and my declaration with your
ears.
18-16:4 I also
could speak as ye do: if your soul were
in my soul’s stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at
you.
18-16:5 But I
would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage your grief.
18-18:3 Wherefore
are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your
sight?
18-21:2 Hear
diligently my speech, and let this be your
consolations.
18-21:5 Mark me,
and be astonished, and lay your hand upon
your mouth.
18-21:27 Behold, I
know your thoughts, and the devices which ye
wrongfully imagine against me.
18-21:34 How then
comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers
there remaineth falsehood?
18-32:11 Behold, I
waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
18-32:14 Now he
hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
18-42:8 Therefore
take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and
offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for
you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the
thing which is right, like my servant Job.
19-4:4 Stand in
awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart
upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
19-4:5 Offer
the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your
trust in the LORD.
19-11:1 In the
LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
19-22:26 The meek
shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
19-24:7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye
everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
19-24:9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye
everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
19-31:24 Be of good
courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all
ye that hope in the LORD.
19-47:1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice
of triumph.
19-58:2 Yea, in
heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your
hands in the earth.
19-58:9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away
as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
19-62:8 Trust in
him at all times; ye people, pour out your
heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
19-62:10 Trust not
in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
19-69:32 The humble
shall see this, and be glad: and your
heart shall live that seek God.
19-75:5 Lift not
up your horn on high: speak not with a
stiff neck.
19-76:11 Vow, and
pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be
round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
19-78:1 Give ear,
O my people, to my law: incline your ears
to the words of my mouth.
19-95:8 Harden
not your heart, as in the provocation, and as
in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
19-95:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
19-105:11 Saying,
Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your
inheritance:
19-115:14 The LORD
shall increase you more and more, you and your
children.
19-134:2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the
LORD.
19-146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man,
in whom there is no help.
20-1:26 I also
will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
20-1:27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and
anguish cometh upon you.
23-1:7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as
overthrown by strangers.
23-1:11 To what
purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices
unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat
of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of
he goats.
23-1:12 When ye
come to appear before me, who hath required this at your
hand, to tread my courts?
23-1:14 Your new moons and your
appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear
them.
23-1:15 And when
ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine
eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
23-1:16 Wash you,
make you clean; put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
23-1:18 Come now,
and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your
sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like
crimson, they shall be as wool.
23-3:14 The LORD
will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof:
for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
23-8:13 Sanctify
the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your
dread.
23-10:3 And what
will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall
come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
23-23:7 Is this
your joyous city, whose antiquity is of
ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn.
23-23:14 Howl, ye
ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid
waste.
23-28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the
overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
23-28:22 Now
therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be
made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even
determined upon the whole earth.
23-29:10 For the
LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your
rulers, the seers hath he covered.
23-29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed
as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me
not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no
understanding?
23-30:3 Therefore
shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and
the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
23-30:15 For thus saith
the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved;
in quietness and in confidence shall be your
strength: and ye would not.
23-31:7 For in
that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold,
which your own hands have made unto you for a
sin.
23-32:11 Tremble,
ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make
you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your
loins.
23-33:4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering
of the caterpillar: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon
them.
23-33:11 Ye shall
conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your
breath, as fire, shall devour you.
23-35:4 Say to
them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God
with a recompence; he will come and save you.
23-36:17 Until I
come and take you away to a land like your own
land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
23-37:6 And Isaiah
said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your
master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard,
wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
23-40:1 Comfort
ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
23-40:9 O Zion,
that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem,
that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up,
be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your
God!
23-40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things,
that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the
greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
23-41:21 Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
23-41:24 Behold, ye
are of nothing, and your work of nought:
an abomination is he that chooseth you.
23-41:26 Who hath
declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say,
He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there
is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
23-43:14 Thus saith
the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;
For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought
down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
23-43:15 I am the
LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
23-46:1 Bel
boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the
cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden;
they are a burden to the weary beast.
23-46:4 And even
to your old age I am he; and even
to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I
will carry, and will deliver you.
23-50:1 Thus
saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your
mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to
whom I have sold you? Behold, for your
iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your
transgressions is your mother put away.
23-50:11 Behold,
all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks:
walk in the light of your fire, and in the
sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall
lie down in sorrow.
23-51:2 Look unto
Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare
you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
23-51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth
beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax
old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but
my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
23-52:12 For ye
shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you;
and the God of Israel will be your
rereward.
23-55:2 Wherefore
do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not?
hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
23-55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting
covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
23-55:8 For my
thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are
your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
23-55:9 For as
the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
23-58:3 Wherefore
have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we
afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
23-58:4 Behold,
ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye
shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your
voice to be heard on high.
23-59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins
have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
23-59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your
lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered
perverseness.
23-61:5 And
strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and
the sons of the alien shall be your
plowmen and your vinedressers.
23-61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion
they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess
the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
23-65:7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have
burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore
will I measure their former work into their bosom.
23-65:15 And ye
shall leave your name for a curse unto my
chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another
name:
23-66:5 Hear the
word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your
brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the
LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your
joy, and they shall be ashamed.
23-66:14 And when
ye see this, your heart shall rejoice,
and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and
the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation
toward his enemies.
23-66:20 And they
shall bring all your brethren for an
offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters,
and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the
LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the
house of the LORD.
23-66:22 For as the
new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith
the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
24-2:5 Thus
saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers
found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and
are become vain?
24-2:9 Wherefore
I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your
children’s children will I plead.
24-2:30 In vain
have I smitten your children; they received no
correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
24-3:18 In those
days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall
come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an
inheritance unto your fathers.
24-3:22 Return,
ye backsliding children, and I will heal your
backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.
24-4:3 For thus
saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
24-4:4 Circumcise
yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your
heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth
like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
24-5:19 And it shall
come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things
unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and
served strange gods in your land, so shall ye
serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
24-5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and
your sins have withholden good things from
you.
24-6:16 Thus
saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where
is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
24-6:20 To what
purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far
country? your burnt offerings are not
acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
24-7:3 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your
ways and your doings, and I will cause you to
dwell in this place.
24-7:5 For if
ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between
a man and his neighbour;
24-7:6 If ye
oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent
blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your
hurt:
24-7:7 Then
will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
24-7:11 Is this
house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith
the LORD.
24-7:14 Therefore
will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust,
and unto the place which I gave to you and to your
fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
24-7:15 And I
will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your
brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
24-7:21 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your
burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat
flesh.
24-7:22 For I
spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them
in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt
offerings or sacrifices:
24-7:23 But this
thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in
all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
24-7:25 Since the
day that your fathers came forth out of the land
of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets,
daily rising up early and sending them:
24-9:20 Yet hear
the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your
ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your
daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.
24-11:4 Which I
commanded your fathers in the day that I
brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying,
Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye
be my people, and I will be your God:
24-11:5 That I
may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your
fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this
day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.
24-11:7 For I
earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day
that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this
day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
24-12:13 They have sown
wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall
not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your
revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
24-13:16 Give glory
to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness,
and before your feet stumble upon the dark
mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and
make it gross darkness.
24-13:17 But if ye
will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run
down with tears, because the Lord’s flock is carried away captive.
24-13:18 Say unto
the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the
crown of your glory.
24-13:20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north:
where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
24-16:9 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out
of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of
gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
24-16:11 Then shalt
thou say unto them, Because your fathers have
forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them,
and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
24-16:12 And ye
have done worse than your fathers; for, behold,
ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not
hearken unto me:
24-16:13 Therefore
will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye
nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other
gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
24-17:1 The sin
of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a
diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns
of your altars;
24-17:22 Neither
carry forth a burden out of your houses on the
sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I
commanded your fathers.
24-18:11 Now
therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and
devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and
make your ways and your
doings good.
24-21:4 Thus
saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are
in your hands, wherewith ye fight against
the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you
without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
24-21:12 O house of
David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him
that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like
fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
24-21:14 But I will
punish you according to the fruit of your
doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it
shall devour all things round about it.
24-23:2 Therefore
thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye
have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them:
behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your
doings, saith the LORD.
24-23:39 Therefore,
behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the
city that I gave you and your fathers, and
cast you out of my presence:
24-25:4 And the
LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending
them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your
ear to hear.
24-25:5 They
said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath
given unto you and to your fathers for ever and
ever:
24-25:6 And go
not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to
anger with the works of your hands; and I will
do you no hurt.
24-25:7 Yet ye
have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger
with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
24-25:34 Howl, ye
shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of
the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of
your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall
fall like a pleasant vessel.
24-26:11 Then spake
the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying,
This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as
ye have heard with your ears.
24-26:13 Therefore
now amend your ways and your
doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God;
and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
24-26:14 As for me,
behold, I am in your hand: do with me as
seemeth good and meet unto you.
24-26:15 But know
ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent
blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof:
for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
24-27:4 And
command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God
of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;
24-27:9 Therefore
hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your
dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall
not serve the king of Babylon:
24-27:10 For they
prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your
land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.
24-27:12 I spake
also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and
serve him and his people, and live.
24-27:16 Also I
spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD;
Hearken not to the words of your prophets that
prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD’S house shall now
shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
24-29:6 Take ye
wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters
to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased
there, and not diminished.
24-29:8 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your
prophets and your diviners, that be in
the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your
dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
24-29:13 And ye
shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
24-29:14 And I will
be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your
captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places
whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the
place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
24-29:16 Know that
thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of
all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into
captivity;
24-29:21 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of
Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold,
I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he
shall slay them before your eyes;
24-30:22 And ye
shall be my people, and I will be your God.
24-34:13 Thus saith
the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your
fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of
the house of bondmen, saying,
24-34:14 At the end
of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold
unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free
from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto
me, neither inclined their ear.
24-35:6 But they
said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded
us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
24-35:7 Neither
shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but
all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye
may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
24-35:15 I have
sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them,
saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve
them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
24-35:18 And
Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts,
the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done
according unto all that he hath commanded you:
24-37:19 Where are
now your prophets which prophesied unto you,
saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?
24-38:5 Then
Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your
hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against
you.
24-40:10 As for me,
behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, which will come unto
us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your
cities that ye have taken.
24-42:4 Then Jeremiah
the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto
the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever
thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep
nothing back from you.
24-42:9 And said
unto them, Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto whom ye sent me to
present your supplication before him;
24-42:12 And I will
shew mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return
to your own land.
24-42:13 But if ye
say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,
24-42:15 And now
therefore hear the word of the LORD, ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith the LORD
of hosts, the God of Israel; If ye wholly set your
faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there;
24-42:20 For ye
dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto
the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the
LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so
declare unto us, and we will do it.
24-42:21 And now
I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice
of the LORD your God, nor any thing for
the which he hath sent me unto you.
24-44:3 Because of
their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they
went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither
they, ye, nor your fathers.
24-44:7 Therefore
now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit
ye this great evil against your souls, to
cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you
none to remain;
24-44:8 In that
ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your
hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone
to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a
reproach among all the nations of the earth?
24-44:9 Have ye
forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and
the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of
Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
24-44:10 They are
not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in
my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
24-44:21 The
incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem,
ye, and your fathers, your
kings, and your princes, and the people of the
land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?
24-44:22 So that
the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your
doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed;
therefore is your land a desolation, and an
astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
24-44:25 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your
wives have both spoken with your mouths, and
fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely
perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven,
and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your
vows.
24-46:4 Harness the
horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put
on the brigandines.
24-48:6 Flee,
save your lives, and be like the heath in the
wilderness.
24-50:12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you
shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a
wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
24-51:24 And I will
render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that
they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the
LORD.
24-51:46 And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that
shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after
that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the
land, ruler against ruler.
24-51:50 Ye that have
escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD afar off, and
let Jerusalem come into your mind.
26-5:16 When I
shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction,
and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine
upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
26-6:3 And say,
Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD
to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold,
I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
26-6:4 And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your
idols.
26-6:5 And I will
lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will
scatter your bones round about your altars.
26-6:6 In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste,
and the high places shall be desolate; that your
altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your
idols may be broken and cease, and your images
may be cut down, and your works may be
abolished.
26-9:5 And to
the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and
smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye
pity:
26-11:5 And the
Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD;
Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.
26-11:6 Ye have
multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have
filled the streets thereof with the slain.
26-11:7 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have
laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the
caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.
26-11:11 This city
shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye
be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of
Israel:
26-12:11 Say, I am
your sign: like as I have done, so shall it
be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
26-12:25 For I am
the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass;
it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days,
O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord
GOD.
26-13:19 And will
ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread,
to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should
not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
26-13:20 Wherefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your
pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will
tear them from your arms, and will let the souls
go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
26-13:21 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people
out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am
the LORD.
26-13:23 Therefore
ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my
people out of your hand: and ye shall know that
I am the LORD.
26-14:6 Therefore
say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves
from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your
abominations.
26-16:45 Thou art
thy mother’s daughter, that loatheth her husband and her children; and thou
art the sister of thy sisters, which loathed their husbands and their
children: your mother was an Hittite, and
your father an Amorite.
26-16:55 When thy
sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and
Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and
thy daughters shall return to your former
estate.
26-18:25 Yet ye
say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my
way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26-18:29 Yet saith
the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are
not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
26-18:30 Therefore
I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the
Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your
transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your
ruin.
26-18:31 Cast away
from you all your transgressions, whereby ye
have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye
die, O house of Israel?
26-20:5 And say
unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted
up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto
them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am
the LORD your God;
26-20:7 Then said
I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile
not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
26-20:18 But I said
unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor
defile yourselves with their idols:
26-20:19 I am the
LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments,
and do them;
26-20:20 And hallow
my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that
I am the LORD your God.
26-20:27 Therefore,
son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have
blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.
26-20:30 Wherefore
say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after
the manner of your fathers? and commit ye
whoredom after their abominations?
26-20:31 For when
ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute
yourselves with all your idols, even unto this
day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
26-20:32 And that
which cometh into your mind shall not be at all,
that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to
serve wood and stone.
26-20:36 Like as I
pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of
the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
26-20:39 As for
you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his
idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute
ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and
with your idols.
26-20:40 For in
mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord
GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there
will I accept them, and there will I require your
offerings, and the firstfruits of your
oblations, with all your holy things.
26-20:41 I will
accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring
you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have
been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.
26-20:42 And ye
shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of
Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it
to your fathers.
26-20:43 And there
shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye
shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for
all your evils that ye have committed.
26-20:44 And ye
shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my
name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways,
nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house
of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
26-21:24 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your
iniquity to be remembered, in that your
transgressions are discovered, so that in all your
doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that
ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
26-23:48 Thus will
I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to
do after your lewdness.
26-23:49 And they
shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye
shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall
know that I am the Lord GOD.
26-24:21 Speak unto
the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my
sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the
desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your
sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall
fall by the sword.
26-24:22 And ye
shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your
lips, nor eat the bread of men.
26-24:23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your
shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor
weep; but ye shall pine away for your
iniquities, and mourn one toward another.
26-33:11 Say unto
them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of
the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye
from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O
house of Israel?
26-33:25 Wherefore
say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your
idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
26-33:26 Ye stand
upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye
defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?
26-34:18 Seemeth
it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must
tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters,
but ye must foul the residue with your feet?
26-34:19 And as
for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled
with your feet.
26-34:21 Because ye
have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad;
26-34:31 And ye my
flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.
26-35:13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have
multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
26-36:8 But ye, O
mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your
branches, and yield your fruit to my people of
Israel; for they are at hand to come.
26-36:11 And I will
multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I
will settle you after your old estates, and will
do better unto you than at your
beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
26-36:22 Therefore
say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for
your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy
name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
26-36:24 For I will
take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will
bring you into your own land.
26-36:25 Then will
I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your
idols, will I cleanse you.
26-36:26 A new
heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will
take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and
I will give you an heart of flesh.
26-36:28 And ye
shall dwell in the land that I gave to your
fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your
God.
26-36:29 I will
also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I
will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
26-36:31 Then shall
ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall
loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your
abominations.
26-36:32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it
known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your
own ways, O house of Israel.
26-36:33 Thus saith
the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell
in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
26-37:12 Therefore
prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I
will open your graves, and cause you to come up
out of your graves, and bring you into the land
of Israel.
26-37:13 And ye
shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
26-37:14 And shall
put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have
spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
26-37:25 And they
shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein,
even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever:
and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
26-43:27 And when
these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so
forward, the priests shall make your burnt
offerings upon the altar, and your peace
offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.
26-44:6 And thou
shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,
26-44:7 In that
ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and
uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my
house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my
covenant because of all your abominations.
26-44:30 And the
first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all,
of every sort of your oblations, shall be
the priest’s: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in
thine house.
26-45:9 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence
and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your
exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD.
26-45:12 And the
shekel shall be twenty gerahs: twenty shekels, five and twenty shekels,
fifteen shekels, shall be your maneh.
26-47:14 And ye
shall inherit it, one as well as another: concerning the which I lifted
up mine hand to give it unto your fathers: and
this land shall fall unto you for inheritance.
27-1:10 And the
prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath
appointed your meat and your
drink: for why should he see your faces worse
liking than the children which are of your
sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.
27-2:5 The king
answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not
make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut
in pieces, and your houses shall be made a
dunghill.
27-2:47 The king answered
unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your
God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets,
seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
27-10:21 But I will
shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none
that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your
prince.
28-1:9 Then
said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I
will not be your God.
28-2:1 Say ye
unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.
28-2:2 Plead
with your mother, plead: for she is not
my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her
whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
28-4:13 They
sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills,
under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good:
therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom,
and your spouses shall commit adultery.
28-4:14 I will
not punish your daughters when they commit
whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit
adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with
harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
28-5:13 When
Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the
Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
28-6:4 O
Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the
early dew it goeth away.
28-9:10 I found
Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your
fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they
went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their
abominations were according as they loved.
28-10:12 Sow to
yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your
fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain
righteousness upon you.
28-10:15 So shall
Bethel do unto you because of your great
wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.
29-1:2 Hear
this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been
in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
29-1:3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their
children another generation.
29-1:5 Awake,
ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new
wine, for it is cut off from your mouth.
29-1:13 Gird
yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie
all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the
drink offering is withholden from the house of your
God.
29-1:14 Sanctify
ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the
inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD.
29-2:12 Therefore
also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and
with mourning:
29-2:13 And rend your heart, and not your
garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for
he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and
repenteth him of the evil.
29-2:14 Who
knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even
a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your
God?
29-2:23 Be glad
then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your
God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to
come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
29-2:26 And ye
shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my
people shall never be ashamed.
29-2:27 And ye
shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the
LORD your God, and none else: and my people
shall never be ashamed.
29-2:28 And it
shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all
flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your
old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall
see visions:
29-3:4 Yea, and
what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine?
will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily
will I return your recompence upon your own head;
29-3:5 Because
ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
29-3:7 Behold, I
will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your
own head:
29-3:8 And I
will sell your sons and your
daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to
the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
29-3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am
strong.
29-3:17 So shall
ye know that I am the LORD your God
dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there
shall no strangers pass through her any more.
30-2:11 And I
raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even
thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.
30-3:2 You only
have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for
all your iniquities.
30-4:2 The Lord
GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he
will take you away with hooks, and your
posterity with fishhooks.
30-4:4 Come to
Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
30-4:6 And I
also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your
cities, and want of bread in all your places:
yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
30-4:9 I have
smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your
gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your
olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not
returned unto me, saith the LORD.
30-4:10 I have
sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have
taken away your horses; and I have made the
stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith
the LORD.
30-5:11 Forasmuch
therefore as your treading is upon the
poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn
stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but
ye shall not drink wine of them.
30-5:12 For I
know your manifold transgressions, and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a
bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
30-5:21 I hate, I
despise your feast days, and I will not smell in
your solemn assemblies.
30-5:22 Though ye
offer me burnt offerings and your meat
offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace
offerings of your fat beasts.
30-5:26 But ye
have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and
Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
30-6:2 Pass ye
unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down
to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their
border greater than your border?
30-8:10 And I
will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up
sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as
the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
33-2:3 Therefore
thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from
which ye shall not remove your necks; neither
shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
33-2:10 Arise ye,
and depart; for this is not your rest:
because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore
destruction.
33-3:12 Therefore
shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a
field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the
high places of the forest.
35-1:5 Behold
ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will
work a work in your days, which ye will
not believe, though it be told you.
36-3:20 At that
time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I
will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn
back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
37-1:4 Is it
time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled
houses, and this house lie waste?
37-1:5 Now
therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your
ways.
37-1:7 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
37-2:3 Who is
left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it
now? is it not in your eyes in comparison
of it as nothing?
37-2:17 I smote
you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the
LORD.
38-1:2 The LORD
hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
38-1:4 Be ye
not as your fathers, unto whom the former
prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken
unto me, saith the LORD.
38-1:5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets,
do they live for ever?
38-1:6 But my
words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not
take hold of your fathers? and they returned and
said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways,
and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
38-6:15 And they that
are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall
know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come
to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
38-7:10 And
oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let
none of you imagine evil against his brother in your
heart.
38-8:9 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be
strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets,
which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the
LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
38-8:13 And it
shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house
of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing:
fear not, but let your hands be strong.
38-8:14 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of
hosts, and I repented not:
38-8:16 These are
the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of truth and peace in your
gates:
38-8:17 And let
none of you imagine evil in your hearts against
his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I
hate, saith the LORD.
39-1:5 And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will
be magnified from the border of Israel.
39-1:9 And now,
I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your
persons? saith the LORD of hosts.
39-1:10 Who is
there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither
do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you,
saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
39-1:13 Ye said
also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith
the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and
the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.
39-2:2 If ye
will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my
name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will
curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them
already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
39-2:3 Behold,
I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away
with it.
39-2:13 And this
have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping,
and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or
receiveth it with good will at your hand.
39-2:15 And did
not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That
he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your
spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
39-2:16 For the
LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth
violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.
39-2:17 Ye have
wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say,
Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is
good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the
God of judgment?
39-3:7 Even
from the days of your fathers ye are gone away
from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will
return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
39-3:11 And I
will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he
shall not destroy the fruits of your ground;
neither shall your vine cast her fruit before
the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
39-3:13 Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD.
Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?
39-4:3 And ye
shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith
the LORD of hosts.
40-5:12 Rejoice,
and be exceeding glad: for great is your
reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
40-5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your
Father which is in heaven.
40-5:20 For I say
unto you, That except your righteousness shall
exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no
case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
40-5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for
whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
40-5:44 But I say
unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that
curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully
use you, and persecute you;
40-5:45 That ye
may be the children of your Father which is in
heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth
rain on the just and on the unjust.
40-5:47 And if ye
salute your brethren only, what do ye more than
others? do not even the publicans so?
40-5:48 Be ye
therefore perfect, even as your Father which is
in heaven is perfect.
40-6:1 Take
heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be
seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your
Father which is in heaven.
40-6:8 Be not
ye therefore like unto them: for your Father
knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
40-6:14 For if ye
forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly
Father will also forgive you:
40-6:15 But if ye
forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your
Father forgive your trespasses.
40-6:21 For where
your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
40-6:25 Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what
ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your
body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment?
40-6:26 Behold
the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into
barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.
Are ye not much better than they?
40-6:32 (For
after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your
heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
40-7:6 Give not
that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your
pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again
and rend you.
40-7:11 If ye
then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which
is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
40-9:4 And
Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
40-9:11 And when
the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
40-9:29 Then touched
he their eyes, saying, According to your faith
be it unto you.
40-10:9 Provide
neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your
purses,
40-10:10 Nor scrip
for your journey, neither two coats,
neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
40-10:13 And if the
house be worthy, let your peace come upon it:
but if it be not worthy, let your peace return
to you.
40-10:14 And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your
words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
40-10:20 For it is
not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father
which speaketh in you.
40-10:29 Are not
two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground
without your Father.
40-10:30 But the very
hairs of your head are all numbered.
40-11:29 Take my
yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall
find rest unto your souls.
40-12:27 And if I
by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your
children cast them out? therefore they shall be your
judges.
40-13:16 But
blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
40-15:3 But he
answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God
by your tradition?
40-15:6 And
honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made
the commandment of God of none effect by your
tradition.
40-17:20 And Jesus
said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for
verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall
say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and
nothing shall be impossible unto you.
40-17:24 And when
they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to
Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay
tribute?
40-18:14 Even so it
is not the will of your Father which is in
heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
40-18:35 So
likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
40-19:8 He saith
unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your
hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but
from the beginning it was not so.
40-20:26 But it
shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
40-20:27 And
whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your
servant:
40-23:8 But be
not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even
Christ; and all ye are brethren.
40-23:9 And call
no man your father upon the earth: for
one is your Father, which is in heaven.
40-23:10 Neither be
ye called masters: for one is your Master, even
Christ.
40-23:11 But he
that is greatest among you shall be your
servant.
40-23:32 Fill ye up
then the measure of your fathers.
40-23:34 Wherefore,
behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of
them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city
to city:
40-23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
40-24:20 But pray
ye that your flight be not in the winter,
neither on the sabbath day:
40-24:42 Watch
therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord
doth come.
40-25:8 And the
foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil;
for our lamps are gone out.
40-26:45 Then
cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the
Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
40-27:65 Pilate
said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way,
make it as sure as ye can.
41-2:8 And
immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within
themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
41-6:11 And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off
the dust under your feet for a testimony against
them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha
in the day of judgment, than for that city.
41-7:9 And he said
unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
41-7:13 Making
the word of God of none effect through your
tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
41-8:17 And when
Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no
bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
41-10:5 And Jesus
answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your
heart he wrote you this precept.
41-10:43 But so
shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
41-11:2 And saith
unto them, Go your way into the village over
against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon
never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
41-11:25 And when
ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
41-11:26 But if ye
do not forgive, neither will your Father which
is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
41-13:18 And pray
ye that your flight be not in the winter.
41-14:41 And he
cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold,
the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
41-16:7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth
before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
42-3:14 And the
soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said
unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be
content with your wages.
42-4:21 And he
began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
42-5:4 Now when
he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let
down your nets for a draught.
42-5:22 But when
Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?
42-6:22 Blessed are
ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their
company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
42-6:23 Rejoice
ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your
reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto
the prophets.
42-6:24 But woe
unto you that are rich! for ye have received your
consolation.
42-6:27 But I say
unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good
to them which hate you,
42-6:35 But love
ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping
for nothing again; and your reward shall be
great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the
unthankful and to the evil.
42-6:36 Be ye
therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
42-6:38 Give, and
it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together,
and running over, shall men give into your
bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to
you again.
42-7:22 Then
Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and
tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame
walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor
the gospel is preached.
42-8:25 And he
said unto them, Where is your faith? And they
being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for
he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
42-9:3 And he
said unto them, Take nothing for your journey,
neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats
apiece.
42-9:5 And
whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very
dust from your feet for a testimony against
them.
42-9:44 Let these
sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of
man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
42-10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among
wolves.
42-10:6 And if
the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest
upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
42-10:10 But into
whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your
ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
42-10:11 Even the
very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we
do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom
of God is come nigh unto you.
42-10:20 Notwithstanding
in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice,
because your names are written in heaven.
42-11:13 If ye then,
being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children: how much more shall your heavenly
Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
42-11:19 And if I
by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your
sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your
judges.
42-11:39 And the
Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and
the platter; but your inward part is full of
ravening and wickedness.
42-11:46 And he
said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens
grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
42-11:47 Woe unto
you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your
fathers killed them.
42-11:48 Truly ye
bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your
fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.
42-12:7 But even
the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
42-12:22 And he
said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body,
what ye shall put on.
42-12:30 For all
these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
42-12:32 Fear not,
little flock; for it is your Father’s good
pleasure to give you the kingdom.
42-12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your
heart be also.
42-12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
42-13:35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say
unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say,
Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
42-16:11 If therefore
ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
42-16:12 And if ye
have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that
which is your own?
42-16:15 And he
said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God
knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly
esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
42-19:30 Saying, Go
ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet
never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
42-21:14 Settle it
therefore in your hearts, not to meditate
before what ye shall answer:
42-21:15 For I will
give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your
adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
42-21:18 But there
shall not an hair of your head perish.
42-21:19 In your patience possess ye your
souls.
42-21:28 And when
these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your
redemption draweth nigh.
42-21:30 When they
now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own
selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
42-21:34 And take
heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts
be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so
that day come upon you unawares.
42-22:53 When I was
daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this
is your hour, and the power of darkness.
42-23:28 But Jesus
turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for
yourselves, and for your children.
42-24:38 And he
said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
43-4:35 Say not
ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say
unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the
fields; for they are white already to harvest.
43-6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are
dead.
43-6:58 This is
that bread which came down from heaven: not as your
fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live
for ever.
43-7:6 Then
Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your
time is alway ready.
43-8:17 It is
also written in your law, that the testimony of
two men is true.
43-8:21 Then said
Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
43-8:24 I said
therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins:
for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
43-8:38 I speak
that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
43-8:41 Ye do the
deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We
be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
43-8:42 Jesus
said unto them, If God were your Father, ye
would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of
myself, but he sent me.
43-8:44 Ye are of
your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When
he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of
it.
43-8:54 Jesus
answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that
honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your
God:
43-8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw
it, and was glad.
43-9:19 And they
asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say
was born blind? how then doth he now see?
43-9:41 Jesus
said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We
see; therefore your sin remaineth.
43-10:34 Jesus
answered them, Is it not written in your law, I
said, Ye are gods?
43-11:15 And I am
glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the
intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
43-12:30 Jesus
answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
43-13:14 If I then,
your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
43-14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe
also in me.
43-14:26 But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
43-14:27 Peace I
leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto
you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let
it be afraid.
43-15:11 These
things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
43-15:16 Ye have
not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and
bring forth fruit, and that your fruit
should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may
give it you.
43-16:6 But
because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
43-16:20 Verily, verily,
I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and
ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be
turned into joy.
43-16:22 And ye now
therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your
heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh
from you.
43-16:24 Hitherto
have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
43-18:31 Then said
Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not
lawful for us to put any man to death:
43-19:14 And it was
the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto
the Jews, Behold your King!
43-19:15 But they
cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate
saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The
chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
43-20:17 Jesus
saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to
my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
44-2:17 And it
shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit
upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
44-2:39 For the
promise is unto you, and to your children, and
to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
44-3:17 And now,
brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.
44-3:19 Repent ye
therefore, and be converted, that your sins may
be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of
the Lord;
44-3:22 For Moses
truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your
God raise up unto you of your brethren, like
unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
44-5:28 Saying,
Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and,
behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your
doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
44-7:37 This is
that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your
brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
44-7:43 Yea, ye
took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your
god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away
beyond Babylon.
44-7:51 Ye
stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy
Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
44-7:52 Which of
the prophets have not your fathers persecuted?
and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of
whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
44-13:41 Behold, ye
despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man
declare it unto you.
44-15:24 Forasmuch
as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with
words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must
be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
44-17:23 For as I
passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an
altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly
worship, him declare I unto you.
44-17:28 For in him
we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his
offspring.
44-18:6 And when
they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said
unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I
will go unto the Gentiles.
44-18:15 But if it
be a question of words and names, and of your
law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
44-19:37 For ye
have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet
blasphemers of your goddess.
44-20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse
things, to draw away disciples after them.
44-24:22 And when
Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he
deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will
know the uttermost of your matter.
44-27:34 Wherefore
I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your
health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
45-1:8 First, I
thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your
faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
45-6:12 Let not
sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye
should obey it in the lusts thereof.
45-6:13 Neither
yield ye your members as instruments of
unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are
alive from the dead, and your members as instruments
of righteousness unto God.
45-6:19 I speak
after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your
flesh: for as ye have yielded your members
servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
45-6:22 But now
being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting
life.
45-8:11 But if the
Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised
up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your
mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
45-11:25 For I
would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should
be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in
part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
45-11:28 As
concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your
sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’
sakes.
45-11:31 Even so
have these also now not believed, that through your
mercy they also may obtain mercy.
45-12:1 I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto
God, which is your reasonable service.
45-12:2 And be
not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
45-12:16 Be of
the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men
of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
45-14:16 Let not
then your good be evil spoken of:
45-15:24 Whensoever
I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my
journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat
filled with your company.
45-15:30 Now I
beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of
the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your
prayers to God for me;
45-16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I
am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I
would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
45-16:20 And the
God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet
shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
46-1:4 I thank
my God always on your behalf, for the grace of
God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
46-1:26 For ye
see your calling, brethren, how that not many
wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
46-2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but
in the power of God.
46-4:6 And
these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos
for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to
think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed
up for one against another.
46-5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a
little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
46-6:5 I speak
to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise
man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
46-6:8 Nay, ye
do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
46-6:15 Know ye
not that your bodies are the members of Christ?
shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an
harlot? God forbid.
46-6:19 What?
know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
46-6:20 For ye
are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your
body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
46-7:5 Defraud
ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may
give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan
tempt you not for your incontinency.
46-7:14 For the
unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is
sanctified by the husband: else were your
children unclean; but now are they holy.
46-7:35 And this
I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast
a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the
Lord without distraction.
46-9:11 If we
have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall
reap your carnal things?
46-14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not
permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under
obedience, as also saith the law.
46-15:14 And if
Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
46-15:17 And if
Christ be not raised, your faith is vain;
ye are yet in your sins.
46-15:31 I protest
by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus
our Lord, I die daily.
46-15:34 Awake to
righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this
to your shame.
46-15:58 Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work
of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your
labour is not in vain in the Lord.
46-16:3 And when
I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters,
them will I send to bring your liberality unto
Jerusalem.
46-16:14 Let all your things be done with charity.
46-16:17 I am glad
of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was
lacking on your part they have supplied.
47-1:6 And
whether we be afflicted, it is for your
consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same
sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
47-1:14 As also
ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your
rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.
47-1:24 Not for
that we have dominion over your faith, but are
helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
47-2:8 Wherefore
I beseech you that ye would confirm your love
toward him.
47-2:10 To whom
ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to
whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave
I it in the person of Christ;
47-4:5 For we
preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
47-4:15 For all
things are for your sakes, that the
abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of
God.
47-5:11 Knowing therefore
the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and
I trust also are made manifest in your
consciences.
47-5:13 For
whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it
is for your cause.
47-6:12 Ye are
not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your
own bowels.
47-7:7 And not
by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you,
when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your
fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
47-7:13 Therefore
we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and
exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was
refreshed by you all.
47-8:7 Therefore,
as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and
in all diligence, and in your love
to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
47-8:8 I speak
not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove
the sincerity of your love.
47-8:9 For ye know
the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty
might be rich.
47-8:14 But by an
equality, that now at this time your
abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may
be a supply for your want: that there may
be equality:
47-8:19 And not that
only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this
grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration
of your ready mind:
47-8:24 Wherefore
shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your
love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
47-9:2 For I
know the forwardness of your mind, for which I
boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
47-9:5 Therefore
I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto
you, and make up before hand your bounty,
whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty,
and not as of covetousness.
47-9:10 Now he
that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your
seed sown, and increase the fruits of your
righteousness;)
47-9:13 Whiles by
the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ,
and for your liberal distribution unto
them, and unto all men;
47-10:6 And
having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
47-10:8 For though
I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for
edification, and not for your destruction, I
should not be ashamed:
47-10:15 Not
boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men’s labours;
but having hope, when your faith is increased,
that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,
47-11:3 But I
fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ.
47-12:19 Again,
think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we
do all things, dearly beloved, for your
edifying.
47-13:5 Examine
yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your
own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how
that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
47-13:9 For we
are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
48-4:6 And because
ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
48-4:15 Where is
then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had
been possible, ye would have plucked out your
own eyes, and have given them to me.
48-4:16 Am I
therefore become your enemy, because I tell you
the truth?
48-6:13 For
neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have
you circumcised, that they may glory in your
flesh.
48-6:18 Brethren,
the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your
spirit. Amen.
49-1:13 In whom
ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed,
ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
49-1:15 Wherefore
I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord
Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
49-1:18 The eyes
of your understanding being enlightened; that ye
may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of
his inheritance in the saints,
49-3:13 Wherefore
I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
49-3:17 That
Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that
ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
49-4:4 There
is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
49-4:23 And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind;
49-4:26 Be ye
angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your
wrath:
49-4:29 Let no
corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth,
but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto
the hearers.
49-5:19 Speaking
to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your heart to the Lord;
49-5:22 Wives, submit
yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the
Lord.
49-5:25 Husbands,
love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave himself for it;
49-6:1 Children,
obey your parents in the Lord: for this is
right.
49-6:4 And, ye
fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but
bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
49-6:5 Servants,
be obedient to them that are your masters
according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
49-6:9 And, ye
masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there
respect of persons with him.
49-6:14 Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with
truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
49-6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of
peace;
49-6:22 Whom I
have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that
he might comfort your hearts.
50-1:5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until
now;
50-1:9 And this
I pray, that your love may abound yet more and
more in knowledge and in all judgment;
50-1:19 For I
know that this shall turn to my salvation through your
prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
50-1:25 And
having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for
your furtherance and joy of faith;
50-1:26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ
for me by my coming to you again.
50-1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of
Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with
one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
50-1:28 And in
nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is
to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of
God.
50-2:12 Wherefore,
my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much
more in my absence, work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling.
50-2:17 Yea, and
if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your
faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
50-2:19 But I
trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be
of good comfort, when I know your state.
50-2:20 For I
have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your
state.
50-2:25 Yet I
supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in
labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger,
and he that ministered to my wants.
50-2:30 Because
for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to
supply your lack of service toward me.
50-4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at
hand.
50-4:6 Be
careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known
unto God.
50-4:7 And the
peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
50-4:10 But I
rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your
care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked
opportunity.
50-4:17 Not because
I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your
account.
50-4:19 But my
God shall supply all your need according to his
riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
51-1:4 Since we
heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the
love which ye have to all the saints,
51-1:8 Who also
declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
51-1:21 And you,
that were sometime alienated and enemies in your
mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
51-2:5 For though
I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding
your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
51-2:13 And you,
being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision
of your flesh, hath he quickened together with
him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
51-2:18 Let no
man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary
humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath
not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
51-3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the
earth.
51-3:3 For ye
are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in
God.
51-3:5 Mortify
therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness,
which is idolatry:
51-3:8 But now
ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy
communication out of your mouth.
51-3:15 And let
the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which
also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
51-3:16 Let the
word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
51-3:18 Wives,
submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it
is fit in the Lord.
51-3:19 Husbands,
love your wives, and be not bitter
against them.
51-3:20 Children,
obey your parents in all things: for this
is well pleasing unto the Lord.
51-3:21 Fathers,
provoke not your children to anger, lest
they be discouraged.
51-3:22 Servants,
obey in all things your masters according
to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart,
fearing God:
51-4:1 Masters,
give unto your servants that which is
just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
51-4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with
salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
51-4:8 Whom I
have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your
hearts;
52-1:3 Remembering
without ceasing your work of faith, and labour
of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and
our Father;
52-1:4 Knowing,
brethren beloved, your election of God.
52-1:5 For our
gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy
Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you
for your sake.
52-1:8 For from
you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also
in every place your faith to God-ward is spread
abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
52-2:14 For ye,
brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ
Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your
own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
52-2:17 But we,
brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart,
endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face
with great desire.
52-3:2 And sent
Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the
gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
52-3:5 For this
cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your
faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in
vain.
52-3:6 But now
when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good
remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:
52-3:7 Therefore,
brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
52-3:9 For what
thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for
your sakes before our God;
52-3:10 Night and
day praying exceedingly that we might see your
face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your
faith?
52-3:13 To the
end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness
before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all
his saints.
52-4:3 For this
is the will of God, even your
sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
52-4:11 And that
ye study to be quiet, and to do your own
business, and to work with your own hands, as we
commanded you;
52-5:23 And the
very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved
blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
53-1:3 We are
bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of
every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
53-1:4 So that we
ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your
patience and faith in all your persecutions and
tribulations that ye endure:
53-2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and
work.
53-3:5 And the
Lord direct your hearts into the love of God,
and into the patient waiting for Christ.
57-1:22 But
withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
57-1:25 The grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your
spirit. Amen.
58-3:8 Harden
not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the
day of temptation in the wilderness:
58-3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works
forty years.
58-3:15 While it
is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your
hearts, as in the provocation.
58-4:7 Again,
he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it
is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your
hearts.
58-6:10 For God is
not unrighteous to forget your work and
labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have
ministered to the saints, and do minister.
58-9:14 How much
more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself
without spot to God, purge your conscience from
dead works to serve the living God?
58-10:34 For ye had
compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in
heaven a better and an enduring substance.
58-10:35 Cast not
away therefore your confidence, which hath great
recompence of reward.
58-12:3 For
consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest
ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
58-12:13 And make
straight paths for your feet, lest that which is
lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
58-13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and
be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never
leave thee, nor forsake thee.
58-13:17 Obey them
that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they
may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for
you.
59-1:3 Knowing this,
that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
59-1:21 Wherefore
lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with
meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your
souls.
59-1:22 But be ye
doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your
own selves.
59-2:2 For if
there come unto your assembly a man with a gold
ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
59-3:14 But if ye
have bitter envying and strife in your hearts,
glory not, and lie not against the truth.
59-4:1 From whence
come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of
your lusts that war in your
members?
59-4:3 Ye ask,
and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
59-4:8 Draw
nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your
hands, ye sinners; and purify your
hearts, ye double minded.
59-4:9 Be
afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your
laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy
to heaviness.
59-4:14 Whereas
ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a
little time, and then vanisheth away.
59-4:16 But now
ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing
is evil.
59-5:1 Go to
now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your
miseries that shall come upon you.
59-5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
59-5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them
shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your
flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
59-5:4 Behold,
the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your
fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which
have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
59-5:5 Ye have
lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
59-5:8 Be ye
also patient; stablish your hearts: for the
coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
59-5:12 But above
all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth,
neither by any other oath: but let your yea be
yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into
condemnation.
59-5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for
another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man
availeth much.
60-1:7 That the
trial of your faith, being much more precious
than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto
praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
60-1:9 Receiving
the end of your faith, even the salvation
of your souls.
60-1:13 Wherefore
gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and
hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation
of Jesus Christ;
60-1:14 As
obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
60-1:17 And if ye
call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every
man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here
in fear:
60-1:18 Forasmuch
as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver
and gold, from your vain conversation received
by tradition from your fathers;
60-1:21 Who by
him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory;
that your faith and hope might be in God.
60-1:22 Seeing ye
have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love
one another with a pure heart fervently:
60-2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that,
whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify
God in the day of visitation.
60-2:16 As free,
and not using your liberty for a cloke of
maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
60-2:18 Servants,
be subject to your masters with
all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
60-2:20 For what
glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your
faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for
it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
60-2:25 For ye
were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop
of your souls.
60-3:1 Likewise,
ye wives, be in subjection to your own
husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won
by the conversation of the wives;
60-3:2 While
they behold your chaste conversation coupled with
fear.
60-3:7 Likewise,
ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto
the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace
of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
60-3:15 But
sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready
always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the
hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
60-3:16 Having a
good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they
may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good
conversation in Christ.
60-4:14 If ye be
reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory
and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
60-5:7 Casting
all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
60-5:8 Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the
devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
60-5:9 Whom
resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are
accomplished in your brethren that are in the
world.
61-1:5 And
beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith
virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
61-1:10 Wherefore
the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your
calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
61-1:19 We have
also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as
unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star
arise in your hearts:
61-3:1 This
second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
61-3:17 Ye
therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye
also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
62-1:4 And
these things write we unto you, that your joy
may be full.
62-2:12 I write unto
you, little children, because your sins are
forgiven you for his name’s sake.
63-1:10 If there
come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
65-1:12 These are
spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast
with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without
water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit,
twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
65-1:20 But ye,
beloved, building up yourselves on your most
holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
66-1:9 I John,
who also am your brother, and companion in
tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle
that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus
Christ.
66-2:23 And I
will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he
which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you
according to your works.
66-16:1 And I heard
a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God
upon the earth.
