01-GENESIS
01-1:29 And God
said, Behold, I have given you every herb
bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,
in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
01-9:2 And the
fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon
every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all
the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
01-9:3 Every
moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you;
even as the green herb have I given you all
things.
01-9:7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth
abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
01-9:9 And I,
behold, I establish my covenant with you, and
with your seed after you;
01-9:10 And with
every living creature that is with you,
of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast
of the earth.
01-9:11 And I
will establish my covenant with you; neither
shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall
there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
01-9:12 And God
said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
01-9:15 And I
will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the
waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
01-17:10 This is
my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you
and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you
shall be circumcised.
01-17:11 And ye
shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the
covenant betwixt me and you.
01-17:12 And he
that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you,
every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought
with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
01-18:4 Let a
little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash
your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
01-19:2 And he
said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you,
into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye
shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide
in the street all night.
01-19:7 And said,
I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
01-19:8 Behold
now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you,
and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do
nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
01-19:14 And Lot
went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and
said, Up, get you out of this place; for the
LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in
law.
01-22:5 And
Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad
will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
01-23:4 I am a
stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a
possession of a buryingplace with you, that I
may bury my dead out of my sight.
01-23:9 That he
may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of
his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a
possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
01-26:27 And Isaac
said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me
away from you?
01-27:45 Until thy
brother’s anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast
done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should I be
deprived also of you both in one day?
01-31:29 It is in
the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God
of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou
speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
01-34:8 And Hamor
communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your
daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.
01-34:9 And make
ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our
daughters unto you.
01-34:10 And ye
shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you;
dwell and trade ye therein, and get you
possessions therein.
01-34:15 But in this
will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be,
that every male of you be circumcised;
01-34:16 Then will
we give our daughters unto you, and we will take
your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you,
and we will become one people.
01-35:2 Then
Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away
the strange gods that are among you, and
be clean, and change your garments:
01-37:6 And he
said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream
which I have dreamed:
01-40:8 And they said
unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.
And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God?
tell me them, I pray you.
01-41:55 And when
all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and
Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.
01-42:2 And he
said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we
may live, and not die.
01-42:14 And Joseph
said unto them, That is it that I spake unto you,
saying, Ye are spies:
01-42:16 Send one
of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye
shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any
truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh
surely ye are spies.
01-42:22 And Reuben
answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you,
saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold,
also his blood is required.
01-42:34 And bring
your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that ye are no spies,
but that ye are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and ye shall traffick in the land.
01-42:38 And he
said, My son shall not go down with you; for his
brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the
which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
01-43:3 And Judah
spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall
not see my face, except your brother be with you.
01-43:5 But if
thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us,
Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
01-43:14 And God
Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he
may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my
children, I am bereaved.
01-43:23 And he
said, Peace be to you, fear not: your
God, and the God of your father, hath given you
treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.
01-44:17 And he
said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup
is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you,
get you up in peace unto your father.
01-44:23 And thou
saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.
01-45:4 And
Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you.
And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold
into Egypt.
01-45:5 Now
therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither:
for God did send me before you to preserve life.
01-45:7 And God
sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives
by a great deliverance.
01-45:8 So now it
was not you that sent me hither, but God:
and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler
throughout all the land of Egypt.
01-45:12 And,
behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my
mouth that speaketh unto you.
01-45:17 And Pharaoh
said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go,
get you unto the land of Canaan;
01-45:18 And take
your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the
fat of the land.
01-45:19 Now thou
art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out
of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your
father, and come.
01-46:33 And it
shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you,
and shall say, What is your occupation?
01-47:16 And Joseph
said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for
your cattle, if money fail.
01-47:23 Then
Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you
this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.
01-48:21 And Israel
said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you,
and bring you again unto the land of your
fathers.
01-49:1 And Jacob
called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
01-50:4 And when
the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh,
saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
01-50:20 But as for
you, ye thought evil against me; but God
meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much
people alive.
01-50:21 Now
therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and
your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
01-50:24 And Joseph
said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out
of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
01-50:25 And Joseph
took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
02-3:13 And Moses
said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and
shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his
name? what shall I say unto them?
02-3:14 And God
said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the
children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
02-3:15 And God
said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The
LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of
Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my
name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
02-3:16 Go, and gather
the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers,
the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have
surely visited you, and seen that which
is done to you in Egypt:
02-3:17 And I have
said, I will bring you up out of the affliction
of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites,
and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing
with milk and honey.
02-3:19 And I am
sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go,
no, not by a mighty hand.
02-3:20 And I
will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do
in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you
go.
02-4:15 And thou
shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth,
and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye
shall do.
02-5:4 And the
king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people
from their works? get you unto your burdens.
02-5:10 And the
taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the
people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you
straw.
02-5:11 Go ye,
get you straw where ye can find it: yet not
ought of your work shall be diminished.
02-5:18 Go
therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.
02-5:21 And they
said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and
judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh,
and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
02-6:6 Wherefore
say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I
will rid you out of their bondage, and I will
redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with
great judgments:
02-6:7 And I
will take you to me for a people, and I will be
to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the
LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under
the burdens of the Egyptians.
02-6:8 And I
will bring you in unto the land, concerning the
which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will
give it you for an heritage: I am the
LORD.
02-7:4 But
Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may
lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the
children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.
02-7:9 When
Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a
miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron,
Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a
serpent.
02-8:28 And
Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may
sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far
away: intreat for me.
02-9:8 And the
LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you
handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven
in the sight of Pharaoh.
02-9:28 Intreat
the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty
thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and
ye shall stay no longer.
02-10:5 And they
shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth:
and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which
groweth for you out of the field:
02-10:10 And he
said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as
I will let you go, and your little ones: look to
it; for evil is before you.
02-10:16 Then
Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against
the LORD your God, and against you.
02-10:24 And
Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your
flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
02-11:1 And the
LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and
upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence:
when he shall let you go, he shall surely
thrust you out hence altogether.
02-11:9 And the
LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you;
that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
02-12:2 This
month shall be unto you the beginning of
months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
02-12:13 And the
blood shall be to you for a token upon the
houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when
I smite the land of Egypt.
02-12:14 And this
day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye
shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it
a feast by an ordinance for ever.
02-12:16 And in the
first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day
there shall be an holy convocation to you; no
manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must
eat, that only may be done of you.
02-12:21 Then Moses
called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the
passover.
02-12:22 And ye
shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the
bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in
the bason; and none of you shall go out at the
door of his house until the morning.
02-12:23 For the
LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon
the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and
will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
02-12:25 And it
shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep
this service.
02-12:26 And it
shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you,
What mean ye by this service?
02-12:31 And he
called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the
children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.
02-12:49 One law
shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
02-13:3 And Moses
said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out
of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no
leavened bread be eaten.
02-13:19 And Moses
took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of
Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and
ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
02-14:13 And Moses
said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the
LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the
Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
02-14:14 The LORD
shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your
peace.
02-16:4 Then said
the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain
rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
02-16:6 And Moses
and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know
that the LORD hath brought you out from the land
of Egypt:
02-16:8 And Moses
said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you
in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the
LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we?
your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.
02-16:15 And when
the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna:
for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the
bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
02-16:23 And he
said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the
rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to
day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up
for you to be kept until the morning.
02-16:29 See, for
that the LORD hath given you the sabbath,
therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the
bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his
place on the seventh day.
02-16:32 And Moses
said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to
be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.
02-18:10 And Jethro
said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you
out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath
delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
02-19:4 Ye have
seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
02-20:20 And Moses
said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that
ye sin not.
02-20:22 And the
LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have
seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
02-20:23 Ye shall
not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
02-22:24 And my
wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with
the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
02-23:13 And in all
things that I have said unto you be
circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be
heard out of thy mouth.
02-24:8 And Moses
took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the
blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you
concerning all these words.
02-24:14 And he
said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come
unto them.
02-26:33 And thou
shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither
within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.
02-29:42 This
shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the
door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.
02-30:32 Upon man’s
flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it,
after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy
unto you.
02-30:36 And thou
shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in
the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be
unto you most holy.
02-31:13 Speak thou
also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for
it is a sign between me and you
throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD
that doth sanctify you.
02-31:14 Ye shall
keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you:
every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any
work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
02-32:29 For Moses
had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his
son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you
a blessing this day.
02-35:2 Six days
shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD:
whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
02-35:5 Take ye
from among you an offering unto the LORD:
whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the
LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
02-35:10 And every wise
hearted among you shall come, and make all that
the LORD hath commanded;
03-1:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring
your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
03-8:33 And ye
shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven
days, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he
consecrate you.
03-8:34 As he
hath done this day, so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an
atonement for you.
03-9:4 Also a
bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat
offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you.
03-9:6 And
Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should
do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you.
03-10:7 And ye
shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye
die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you.
And they did according to the word of Moses.
03-10:17 Wherefore
have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most
holy, and God hath given it you to bear
the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
03-11:4 Nevertheless
these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the
hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is unclean unto you.
03-11:5 And the
coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean
unto you.
03-11:6 And the
hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean
unto you.
03-11:7 And the
swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the
cud; he is unclean to you.
03-11:8 Of their
flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean
to you.
03-11:10 And all
that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move
in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall
be an abomination unto you:
03-11:11 They shall
be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not
eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
03-11:12 Whatsoever
hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto
you.
03-11:20 All fowls
that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
03-11:23 But all other
flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an
abomination unto you.
03-11:26 The
carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not
clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
03-11:27 And
whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four,
those are unclean unto you: whoso
toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
03-11:28 And he
that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until
the even: they are unclean unto you.
03-11:29 These also
shall be unclean unto you among the
creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the
tortoise after his kind,
03-11:31 These are
unclean to you among all that creep:
whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
03-11:35 And every thing
whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether
it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are
unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.
03-11:38 But if any
water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall
thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
03-11:45 For I am
the LORD that bringeth you up out of the
land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
03-14:34 When ye be
come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you
for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of
your possession;
03-16:29 And this
shall be a statute for ever unto you: that
in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall
afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own
country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
03-16:30 For on
that day shall the priest make an atonement for you,
to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from
all your sins before the LORD.
03-16:31 It shall
be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall
afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
03-16:34 And this
shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make
an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he
did as the LORD commanded Moses.
03-17:8 And thou
shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or
of the strangers which sojourn among you, that
offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,
03-17:10 And
whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of
blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will
cut him off from among his people.
03-17:11 For the
life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your
souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
03-17:12 Therefore I
said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you
shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
03-17:13 And
whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers
that sojourn among you, which hunteth and
catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood
thereof, and cover it with dust.
03-18:3 After the
doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the
doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you,
shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
03-18:6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him,
to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.
03-18:24 Defile not
ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled
which I cast out before you:
03-18:26 Ye shall
therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of
these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger
that sojourneth among you:
03-18:27 (For all
these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
03-18:28 That the
land spue not you out also, when ye defile it,
as it spued out the nations that were before you.
03-18:30 Therefore
shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these
abominable customs, which were committed before you,
and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.
03-19:23 And when
ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for
food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall
it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be
eaten of.
03-19:25 And in the
fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your
God.
03-19:28 Ye shall
not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
03-19:34 But the
stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you,
and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt:
I am the LORD your God.
03-19:36 Just
balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the
LORD your God, which brought you out of the land
of Egypt.
03-20:8 And ye
shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.
03-20:14 And if a
man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt
with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
03-20:22 Ye shall
therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the
land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue
you not out.
03-20:23 And ye
shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and
therefore I abhorred them.
03-20:24 But I have
said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and
I will give it unto you to possess it, a land
that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have
separated you from other people.
03-20:25 Ye shall
therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean
fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by
fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I
have separated from you as unclean.
03-20:26 And ye
shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
03-21:8 Thou
shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be
holy unto thee: for I the LORD, which sanctify you,
am holy.
03-22:20 But whatsoever
hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable
for you.
03-22:25 Neither
from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because
their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them:
they shall not be accepted for you.
03-22:32 Neither
shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of
Israel: I am the LORD which hallow you,
03-22:33 That
brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your
God: I am the LORD.
03-23:10 Speak unto
the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which
I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest
thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto
the priest:
03-23:11 And he
shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall
wave it.
03-23:15 And ye
shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath,
from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths
shall be complete:
03-23:21 And ye
shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation
unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein:
it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your
generations.
03-23:27 Also on
the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of
atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you;
and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the
LORD.
03-23:28 And ye
shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make
an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
03-23:32 It shall
be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall
afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even
unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
03-23:36 Seven days
ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall
be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall
offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and
ye shall do no servile work therein.
03-23:40 And ye
shall take you on the first day the boughs of
goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and
willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
03-25:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land
which I give you, then shall the land keep a
sabbath unto the LORD.
03-25:6 And the
sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for
thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for
thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
03-25:10 And ye
shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the
land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his
possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
03-25:11 A jubile
shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall
not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the
grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
03-25:12 For it is
the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye
shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
03-25:21 Then I
will command my blessing upon you in the sixth
year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
03-25:38 I am the
LORD your God, which brought you forth out of
the land of Egypt, to give you the land of
Canaan, and to be your God.
03-25:44 Both thy
bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen
that are round about you; of them shall ye buy
bondmen and bondmaids.
03-25:45 Moreover
of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you,
of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be
your possession.
03-25:46 And ye
shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they
shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel,
ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
03-26:1 Ye shall
make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear
you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up
any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the
LORD your God.
03-26:4 Then I
will give you rain in due season, and the land
shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
03-26:6 And I
will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the
land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
03-26:7 And ye
shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you
by the sword.
03-26:8 And five
of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of
you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your
enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
03-26:9 For I
will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you,
and establish my covenant with you.
03-26:11 And I will
set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall
not abhor you.
03-26:12 And I will
walk among you, and will be your God, and ye
shall be my people.
03-26:13 I am the
LORD your God, which brought you forth out of
the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the
bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
03-26:16 I also
will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that
shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed
in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
03-26:17 And I will
set my face against you, and ye shall be slain
before your enemies: they that hate you shall
reign over you; and ye shall flee when none
pursueth you.
03-26:18 And if ye
will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
03-26:21 And if ye
walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times
more plagues upon you according to your sins.
03-26:22 I will
also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob
you of your children, and destroy your cattle,
and make you few in number; and your high ways
shall be desolate.
03-26:24 Then will
I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
03-26:25 And I will
bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the
quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your
cities, I will send the pestilence among you;
and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
03-26:26 And when
I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one
oven, and they shall deliver you your
bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
03-26:28 Then I
will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I,
even I, will chastise you seven times for your
sins.
03-26:30 And I will
destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon
the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
03-26:33 And I will
scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out
a sword after you: and your land shall be
desolate, and your cities waste.
03-26:36 And upon
them that are left alive of you I will
send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound
of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a
sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
03-26:38 And ye
shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
03-26:39 And they
that are left of you shall pine away in their
iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers
shall they pine away with them.
04-1:4 And with
you there shall be a man of every tribe; every
one head of the house of his fathers.
04-1:5 And
these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of
Shedeur.
04-9:8 And
Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command
concerning you.
04-9:10 Speak
unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you
or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in
a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD.
04-9:14 And if a
stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep
the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and
according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance,
both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.
04-10:8 And the
sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your
generations.
04-10:9 And if ye
go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets;
and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from
your enemies.
04-10:10 Also in
the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of
your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and
over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the
LORD your God.
04-10:29 And Moses
said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are
journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for
the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.
04-11:18 And say
thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat
flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us
flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will
give you flesh, and ye shall eat.
04-11:20 But even
a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is
among you, and have wept before him, saying,
Why came we forth out of Egypt?
04-12:6 And he
said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you,
I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will
speak unto him in a dream.
04-13:17 And Moses
sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the
mountain:
04-14:25 (Now the
Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To morrow turn you, and get you into
the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
04-14:28 Say unto
them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine
ears, so will I do to you:
04-14:29 Your
carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years
old and upward, which have murmured against me,
04-14:30 Doubtless
ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh,
and Joshua the son of Nun.
04-14:32 But as
for you, your carcases, they shall fall in
this wilderness.
04-14:42 Go not up,
for the LORD is not among you; that ye be
not smitten before your enemies.
04-14:43 For the
Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you,
and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD,
therefore the LORD will not be with you.
04-15:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land
of your habitations, which I give unto you,
04-15:14 And if a
stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among
you in your generations, and will offer an
offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall
do.
04-15:15 One
ordinance shall be both for you of the
congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as
ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.
04-15:16 One law
and one manner shall be for you, and for the
stranger that sojourneth with you.
04-15:18 Speak unto
the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land whither I
bring you,
04-15:23 Even all
that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of
Moses, from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and henceforward
among your generations;
04-15:39 And it
shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look
upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that
ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a
whoring:
04-15:41 I am the
LORD your God, which brought you out of the land
of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.
04-16:3 And they
gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto
them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing
all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among
them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
04-16:6 This do;
Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
04-16:7 And put fire
therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to morrow: and it shall be that
the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too
much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
04-16:8 And Moses
said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of
Levi:
04-16:9 Seemeth
it but a small thing unto you, that the God
of Israel hath separated you from the
congregation of Israel, to bring you near to
himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before
the congregation to minister unto them?
04-16:17 And take
every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD
every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each
of you his censer.
04-16:24 Speak unto
the congregation, saying, Get you up from about
the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
04-16:26 And he
spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you,
from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be
consumed in all their sins.
04-16:45 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may
consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
04-17:4 And thou
shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony,
where I will meet with you.
04-17:5 And it
shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall
blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of
Israel, whereby they murmur against you.
04-18:4 And they
shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the
congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not
come nigh unto you.
04-18:6 And I,
behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of
Israel: to you they are given as a
gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
04-18:7 Therefore
thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of
the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s
office unto you as a service of gift: and
the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
04-18:26 Thus speak
unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the
tithes which I have given you from them for your
inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even
a tenth part of the tithe.
04-18:27 And this
your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you,
as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of
the winepress.
04-20:10 And Moses and
Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto
them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you
water out of this rock?
04-22:8 And he
said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of
Moab abode with Balaam.
04-22:13 And Balaam
rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me
leave to go with you.
04-22:19 Now
therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this
night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.
04-25:18 For they
vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have
beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the
matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was
slain in the day of the plague for Peor’s sake.
04-28:19 But ye
shall offer a sacrifice made by fire for a burnt offering unto the LORD;
two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven lambs of the first year: they shall
be unto you without blemish:
04-28:22 And one
goat for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you.
04-28:30 And one
kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.
04-28:31 Ye shall
offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering,
(they shall be unto you without blemish) and
their drink offerings.
04-29:1 And in
the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy
convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets
unto you.
04-29:5 And one
kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you:
04-29:8 But ye
shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD for a sweet savour; one young
bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish:
04-32:21 And will
go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD,
until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,
04-32:23 But if ye
will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin
will find you out.
04-32:24 Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your
sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.
04-32:29 And Moses
said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass
with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle,
before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you;
then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:
04-32:30 But if
they will not pass over with you armed, they
shall have possessions among you in the land of
Canaan.
04-33:52 Then ye
shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all
their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:
04-33:53 And ye
shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I
have given you the land to possess it.
04-33:55 But if ye
will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye
let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your
sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye
dwell.
04-33:56 Moreover
it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you,
as I thought to do unto them.
04-34:2 Command
the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan;
(this is the land that shall fall unto you
for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)
04-34:7 And this
shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor:
04-34:17 These are
the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.
04-35:11 Then ye
shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge
for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which
killeth any person at unawares.
04-35:12 And they
shall be unto you cities for refuge from the
avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in
judgment.
04-35:29 So these things
shall be for a statute of judgment unto you
throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
05-1:7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the
Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the
hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the
Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
05-1:8 Behold,
I have set the land before you: go in and
possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.
05-1:9 And I
spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not
able to bear you myself alone:
05-1:10 The LORD
your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are
this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.
05-1:11 (The LORD
God of your fathers make you a thousand times so
many more as ye are, and bless you, as he
hath promised you!)
05-1:13 Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your
tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
05-1:15 So I took
the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over
hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among
your tribes.
05-1:17 Ye shall
not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as
the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s:
and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it
unto me, and I will hear it.
05-1:18 And I
commanded you at that time all the things which
ye should do.
05-1:20 And I
said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of
the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us.
05-1:22 And ye
came near unto me every one of you, and said, We
will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us
word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
05-1:23 And the
saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you,
one of a tribe:
05-1:29 Then I
said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of
them.
05-1:30 The LORD
your God which goeth before you, he shall fight
for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
05-1:33 Who went
in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire
by night, to shew you by what way ye should go,
and in a cloud by day.
05-1:40 But as
for you, turn you,
and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
05-1:42 And the
LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not
among you; lest ye be smitten before your
enemies.
05-1:43 So I
spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but
rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into
the hill.
05-1:44 And the
Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as
bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto
Hormah.
05-1:45 And ye
returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your
voice, nor give ear unto you.
05-2:3 Ye have
compassed this mountain long enough: turn you
northward.
05-2:4 And
command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of
your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be
afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves
therefore:
05-2:5 Meddle not
with them; for I will not give you of their
land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto
Esau for a possession.
05-2:13 Now rise
up, said I, and get you over the brook
Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.
05-3:18 And I
commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD
your God hath given you this land to possess it:
ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that
are meet for the war.
05-3:19 But your
wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have
much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
05-3:20 Until the
LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which
the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye
return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
05-3:22 Ye shall
not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you.
05-4:1 Now therefore
hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go
in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
05-4:2 Ye shall
not add unto the word which I command you,
neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the
commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
05-4:3 Your
eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that
followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
05-4:4 But ye
that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.
05-4:5 Behold,
I have taught you statutes and judgments, even
as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go
to possess it.
05-4:8 And what
nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous
as all this law, which I set before you this
day?
05-4:12 And the
LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire:
ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a
voice.
05-4:13 And he
declared unto you his covenant, which he
commanded you to perform, even ten
commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
05-4:14 And the
LORD commanded me at that time to teach you
statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to
possess it.
05-4:15 Take ye
therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the
day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb
out of the midst of the fire:
05-4:16 Lest ye
corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven
image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
05-4:20 But the
LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of
Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
05-4:23 Take heed
unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he
made with you, and make you
a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy
God hath forbidden thee.
05-4:26 I call
heaven and earth to witness against you this
day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over
Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall
utterly be destroyed.
05-4:27 And the
LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye
shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
05-4:34 Or hath
God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation,
by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and
by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD
your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
05-5:4 The LORD
talked with you face to face in the mount out of
the midst of the fire,
05-5:5 (I stood
between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason
of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,
05-5:30 Go say to
them, Get you into your tents again.
05-5:32 Ye shall
observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to
the left.
05-5:33 Ye shall
walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well
with you, and that ye may prolong your
days in the land which ye shall possess.
05-6:1 Now
these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the
LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye
might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
05-6:14 Ye shall
not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about
you;
05-6:15 (For the
LORD thy God is a jealous God among you)
lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee
from off the face of the earth.
05-6:20 And when
thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies,
and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?
05-7:4 For they
will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so
will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you,
and destroy thee suddenly.
05-7:7 The LORD
did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people;
for ye were the fewest of all people:
05-7:8 But
because the LORD loved you, and because he would
keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of
Pharaoh king of Egypt.
05-7:14 Thou
shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren
among you, or among your cattle.
05-7:21 Thou
shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.
05-8:19 And it
shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods,
and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you
this day that ye shall surely perish.
05-9:8 Also in
Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.
05-9:9 When I
was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the
tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you,
then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread
nor drink water:
05-9:10 And the
LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and
on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake
with you in the mount out of the midst of the
fire in the day of the assembly.
05-9:16 And I
looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the LORD your God, and had
made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside
quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you.
05-9:19 For I was
afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you. But
the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also.
05-9:23 Likewise
when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea,
saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you;
then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed
him not, nor hearkened to his voice.
05-9:24 Ye have
been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.
05-9:25 Thus I
fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the
first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
05-10:4 And he
wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments,
which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out
of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them
unto me.
05-10:15 Only the
LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after
them, even you above all people, as it
is this day.
05-11:4 And what
he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he
made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto
this day;
05-11:5 And what
he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came
into this place;
05-11:8 Therefore
shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you
this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go
to possess it;
05-11:13 And it
shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I
command you this day, to love the LORD your God,
and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
05-11:14 That I
will give you the rain of your land in
his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in
thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
05-11:17 And then
the LORD’S wrath be kindled against you, and
he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her
fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD
giveth you.
05-11:22 For if ye
shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in
all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
05-11:23 Then will
the LORD drive out all these nations from before you,
and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
05-11:25 There
shall no man be able to stand before you: for
the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you
and the dread of you upon all the land that ye
shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
05-11:26 Behold, I
set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
05-11:27 A
blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
05-11:28 And a
curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn
aside out of the way which I command you this
day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
05-11:31 For ye
shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God
giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell
therein.
05-11:32 And ye
shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.
05-12:9 For ye
are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God
giveth you.
05-12:10 But when
ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye
dwell in safety;
05-12:11 Then there
shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to
dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you;
your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering
of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:
05-12:12 And ye
shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters,
and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within
your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.
05-12:32 What thing
soever I command you, observe to do it: thou
shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
05-13:1 If there
arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of
dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
05-13:3 Thou
shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams:
for the LORD your God proveth you, to know
whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
05-13:5 And that
prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath
spoken to turn you away from the LORD
your God, which brought you out of the land of
Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of
bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to
walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
05-13:7 Namely,
of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one
end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
05-13:11 And all
Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this
is among you.
05-13:13 Certain
men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city,
saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
05-13:14 Then shalt
thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth,
and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
05-14:7 Nevertheless
these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the
cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew
the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto
you.
05-14:8 And the
swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean
unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor
touch their dead carcase.
05-14:10 And
whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
05-14:19 And every
creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you:
they shall not be eaten.
05-15:4 Save when
there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD
shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an
inheritance to possess it:
05-15:7 If there
be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren
within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou
shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
05-16:11 And thou
shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and
thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy
gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among
you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath
chosen to place his name there.
05-17:2 If there
be found among you, within any of thy gates
which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness
in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
05-17:7 The hands
of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the
hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.
05-17:16 But he
shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt,
to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto
you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that
way.
05-18:10 There
shall not be found among you any one that
maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth
divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
05-19:19 Then shall
ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou
put the evil away from among you.
05-19:20 And those
which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such
evil among you.
05-20:4 For the
LORD your God is he that goeth with you,
to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
05-20:18 That they
teach you not to do after all their
abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against
the LORD your God.
05-21:9 So shalt
thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in
the sight of the LORD.
05-21:21 And all
the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put
evil away from among you; and all Israel shall
hear, and fear.
05-22:21 Then they
shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of
her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly
in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away
from among you.
05-22:24 Then ye
shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them
with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in
the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife: so thou
shalt put away evil from among you.
05-23:4 Because
they met you not with bread and with water in the
way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee
Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
05-23:10 If there
be among you any man, that is not clean by
reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out
of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:
05-23:16 He shall
dwell with thee, even among you, in that
place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou
shalt not oppress him.
05-24:7 If a man
be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh
merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt
put evil away from among you.
05-24:8 Take heed
in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all
that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as
I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.
05-26:11 And thou
shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto
thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among
you.
05-27:1 And Moses
with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the
commandments which I command you this day.
05-27:4 Therefore
it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these
stones, which I command you this day, in mount
Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.
05-28:54 So that
the man that is tender among you, and
very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of
his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
05-28:56 The tender
and delicate woman among you, which would not
adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness,
her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and
toward her daughter,
05-28:63 And it
shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and
to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and
to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked
from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
05-28:68 And the
LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake
unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto
your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
05-29:4 Yet the
LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive,
and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
05-29:5 And I
have led you forty years in the wilderness: your
clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe
is not waxen old upon thy foot.
05-29:10 Ye stand
this day all of you before the LORD your God;
your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all
the men of Israel,
05-29:14 Neither
with you only do I make this covenant and this
oath;
05-29:18 Lest there
should be among you man, or woman, or family, or
tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve
the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you
a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
05-29:22 So that
the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land,
shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the
LORD hath laid upon it;
05-30:18 I denounce
unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and
that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou
passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
05-30:19 I call
heaven and earth to record this day against you,
that I have set before you life and
death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed
may live:
05-31:5 And the
LORD shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according
unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.
05-31:19 Now
therefore write ye this song for you, and teach
it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a
witness for me against the children of Israel.
05-31:27 For I know
thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the
LORD; and how much more after my death?
05-31:29 For I know
that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside
from the way which I have commanded you; and
evil will befall you in the latter days; because
ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the
work of your hands.
05-32:38 Which did
eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink
offerings? let them rise up and help you, and
be your protection.
05-32:46 And he
said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to
observe to do, all the words of this law.
05-32:47 For it is
not a vain thing for you; because it is your
life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land,
whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
06-1:3 Every place
that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
06-1:11 Pass
through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over
this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.
06-1:13 Remember
the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you,
saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest,
and hath given you this land.
06-1:14 Your
wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses
gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass
before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
06-1:15 Until the
LORD have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the
LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your
possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD’S servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
06-2:9 And she
said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you
the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants
of the land faint because of you.
06-2:10 For we
have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto
the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon
and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
06-2:11 And as
soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did
there remain any more courage in any man, because of you:
for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
06-2:12 Now
therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the
LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye
will also shew kindness unto my father’s house, and give me a true token:
06-2:16 And she
said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest
the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there
three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.
06-3:4 Yet
there shall be a space between you and it, about
two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way
by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
06-3:5 And
Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will
do wonders among you.
06-3:10 And
Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out
from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites,
and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and
the Jebusites.
06-3:11 Behold,
the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
06-3:12 Now
therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes
of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
06-4:2 Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a
man,
06-4:3 And
command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of
the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm,
twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you,
and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.
06-4:5 And
Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the
midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the
number of the tribes of the children of Israel:
06-4:6 That
this may be a sign among you, that when
your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye
by these stones?
06-4:23 For the
LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red
sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
06-5:9 And the
LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from
off you. Wherefore the name of the place is
called Gilgal unto this day.
06-6:10 And
Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise
with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until
the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
06-6:16 And it
came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets,
Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
06-7:12 Therefore
the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their
backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be
with you any more, except ye destroy the
accursed from among you.
06-7:13 Up,
sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus
saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of
thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away
the accursed thing from among you.
06-8:8 And it
shall be, when ye have taken the city, that ye shall set the city on
fire: according to the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have
commanded you.
06-9:7 And the
men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall
we make a league with you?
06-9:11 Wherefore
our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take
victuals with you for the journey, and go to
meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make
ye a league with us.
06-9:12 This our
bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came
forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is
dry, and it is mouldy:
06-9:22 And
Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye
beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you;
when ye dwell among us?
06-9:23 Now
therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of
water for the house of my God.
06-9:24 And they
answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that
the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you
all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives
because of you, and have done this thing.
06-18:3 And
Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to
possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?
06-18:4 Give out
from among you three men for each tribe: and
I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it
according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.
06-18:6 Ye shall
therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the
description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you
here before the LORD our God.
06-18:7 But the
Levites have no part among you; for the
priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and
half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on
the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.
06-18:8 And the
men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the
land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to
me, that I may here cast lots for you before the
LORD in Shiloh.
06-20:2 Speak to
the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you
cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by
the hand of Moses:
06-22:2 And said
unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:
06-22:4 And now
the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them:
therefore now return ye, and get you unto your
tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of
the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
06-22:5 But take
diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the
LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and
to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him,
and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
06-22:16 Thus saith
the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have
committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the
LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that
ye might rebel this day against the LORD?
06-22:19 Notwithstanding,
if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto
the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD’S tabernacle dwelleth,
and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against
us, in building you an altar beside the altar of
the LORD our God.
06-22:25 For the
LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you,
ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so
shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
06-22:27 But that
it may be a witness between us, and you,
and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before
him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace
offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye
have no part in the LORD.
06-22:28 Therefore
said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our
generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern
of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor
for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.
06-23:3 And ye
have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because
of you; for the LORD your God is he that
hath fought for you.
06-23:4 Behold, I
have divided unto you by lot these nations that
remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations
that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.
06-23:5 And the
LORD your God, he shall expel them from before you,
and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the
LORD your God hath promised unto you.
06-23:7 That ye
come not among these nations, these that remain among you;
neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither
serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
06-23:9 For the LORD
hath driven out from before you great nations
and strong: but as for you, no man hath
been able to stand before you unto this day.
06-23:10 One man of
you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your
God, he it is that fighteth for you, as
he hath promised you.
06-23:12 Else if ye
do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these
that remain among you, and shall make marriages
with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
06-23:13 Know for a
certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these
nations from before you; but they shall be
snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your
sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which
the LORD your God hath given you.
06-23:14 And,
behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all
your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the
good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you;
all are come to pass unto you, and not
one thing hath failed thereof.
06-23:15 Therefore
it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God
hath given you.
06-23:16 When ye
have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed
yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good
land which he hath given unto you.
06-24:5 I sent
Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did among
them: and afterward I brought you out.
06-24:7 And when
they cried unto the LORD, he put darkness between you
and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your
eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long
season.
06-24:8 And I
brought you into the land of the Amorites, which
dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you:
and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I
destroyed them from before you.
06-24:9 Then
Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent
and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:
06-24:10 But I
would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you
still: so I delivered you out of his hand.
06-24:11 And ye went
over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the
Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the
Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.
06-24:12 And I sent
the hornet before you, which drave them out from
before you, even the two kings of the
Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.
06-24:13 And I have
given you a land for which ye did not labour,
and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and
oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.
06-24:15 And if it
seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods
which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or
the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house,
we will serve the LORD.
06-24:20 If ye
forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you,
after that he hath done you good.
06-24:22 And Joshua
said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have
chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they
said, We are witnesses.
06-24:23 Now
therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of
Israel.
06-24:27 And Joshua
said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it
hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be
therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your
God.
07-2:1 And an
angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and
I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
07-2:3 Wherefore
I also said, I will not drive them out from before you;
but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a
snare unto you.
07-6:8 That the
LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus
saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up
from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the
house of bondage;
07-6:9 And I
delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians,
and out of the hand of all that oppressed you,
and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;
07-6:10 And I
said unto you, I am the LORD your God;
fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not
obeyed my voice.
07-7:7 And the
LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and
let all the other people go every man unto his place.
07-8:2 And he
said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you?
Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of
Abiezer?
07-8:3 God hath
delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I
able to do in comparison of you? Then their
anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.
07-8:5 And he
said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you,
loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I
am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.
07-8:19 And he
said, They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the
LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you.
07-8:23 And
Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you,
neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD
shall rule over you.
07-8:24 And
Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you,
that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey. (For they had golden
earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)
07-9:2 Speak, I
pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem,
Whether is better for you, either that all
the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you?
remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.
07-9:7 And when
they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim,
and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men
of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.
07-9:15 And the
bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my
shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of
Lebanon.
07-9:17 (For my
father fought for you, and adventured his life
far, and delivered you out of the hand of
Midian:
07-9:19 If ye then
have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then
rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you:
07-10:11 And the
LORD said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites,
from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?
07-10:12 The
Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.
07-10:13 Yet ye
have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.
07-10:14 Go and cry
unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you
in the time of your tribulation.
07-12:2 And
Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children
of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me
not out of their hands.
07-14:12 And Samson
said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you:
if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it
out, then I will give you thirty sheets and
thirty change of garments:
07-15:7 And
Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.
07-19:9 And when
the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father
in law, the damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward
evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the
day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow
get you early on your way, that thou mayest go
home.
07-19:23 And the
man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my
brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly;
seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.
07-19:24 Behold, here
is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and
humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing.
07-20:12 And the
tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What
wickedness is this that is done among you?
07-21:21 And see,
and, behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come
ye out of the vineyards, and catch you every man
his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.
08-1:8 And
Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s
house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have
dealt with the dead, and with me.
08-1:9 The LORD
grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed
them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.
08-2:4 And,
behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The LORD be with
you. And they answered him, The LORD bless thee.
08-2:7 And she
said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after
the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the
morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.
09-4:9 Be strong,
and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto
the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit
yourselves like men, and fight.
09-6:3 And they
said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any
wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be
known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
09-6:4 Then
said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to
him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the
number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
09-6:5 Wherefore
ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the
land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will
lighten his hand from off you, and from off your
gods, and from off your land.
09-6:21 And they
sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The Philistines
have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, and fetch it up to
you.
09-7:3 And
Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the
LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth
from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the
LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you
out of the hand of the Philistines.
09-7:5 And
Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
09-8:11 And he
said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for
himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall
run before his chariots.
09-8:18 And ye
shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
09-9:12 And they
answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city;
for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:
09-9:13 As soon
as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to
the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he
doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now
therefore get you up; for about this time ye
shall find him.
09-10:2 When thou
art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre
in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses
which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of
the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What
shall I do for my son?
09-10:15 And Saul’s
uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you.
09-10:18 And said
unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought up
Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of
the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of
them that oppressed you:
09-10:19 And ye
have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you
out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay,
but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by
your tribes, and by your thousands.
09-11:2 And
Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a
covenant with you, that I may thrust out all
your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.
09-11:10 Therefore
the men of Jabesh said, To morrow we will come out unto you, and ye shall do with us all that seemeth good unto you.
09-12:1 And Samuel
said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye
said unto me, and have made a king over you.
09-12:2 And now,
behold, the king walketh before you: and I am
old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you
from my childhood unto this day.
09-12:3 Behold,
here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed:
whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded?
whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to
blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.
09-12:5 And he
said unto them, The LORD is witness against you,
and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my
hand. And they answered, He is witness.
09-12:7 Now
therefore stand still, that I may reason with you
before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.
09-12:11 And the
LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and
ye dwelled safe.
09-12:12 And when
ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over
us: when the LORD your God was your king.
09-12:13 Now
therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired!
and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.
09-12:14 If ye will
fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the
commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth
over you continue following the LORD your God:
09-12:15 But if ye
will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the
LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you,
as it was against your fathers.
09-12:17 Is it not
wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and
rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which
ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you
a king.
09-12:22 For the
LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath
pleased the LORD to make you his people.
09-12:23 Moreover
as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for
you: but I will teach you
the good and the right way:
09-12:24 Only fear
the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things
he hath done for you.
09-14:9 If they
say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you;
then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.
09-14:12 And the
men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up
to us, and we will shew you a thing. And
Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath
delivered them into the hand of Israel.
09-14:29 Then said
Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little
of this honey.
09-15:6 And Saul
said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down
from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you
with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came
up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
09-17:8 And he
stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come
out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye
servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
09-17:47 And all this
assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the
battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you
into our hands.
09-18:23 And Saul’s
servants spake those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seemeth it to you a light thing to be a king’s son in
law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed?
09-22:3 And David
went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father
and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.
09-22:7 Then Saul
said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the
son of Jesse give every one of you fields and
vineyards, and make you all captains of
thousands, and captains of hundreds;
09-22:8 That all
of you have conspired against me, and there
is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of
Jesse, and there is none of you that is
sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against
me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
09-23:22 Go, I pray
you, prepare yet, and know and see his place
where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that
he dealeth very subtilly.
09-23:23 See
therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth
himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land,
that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.
09-25:5 And David
sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my
name:
09-25:19 And she
said unto her servants, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal.
09-30:24 For who
will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his
part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that
tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
09-30:26 And when
David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to
his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of
the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;
10-1:21 Ye
mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain,
upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the
shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he
had not been anointed with oil.
10-1:24 Ye
daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you
in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your
apparel.
10-2:6 And now
the LORD shew kindness and truth unto you: and I
also will requite you this kindness, because ye
have done this thing.
10-3:17 And Abner
had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in
times past to be king over you:
10-3:31 And David
said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your
clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn
before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.
10-4:11 How much more,
when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed?
shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
10-7:23 And what
one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom
God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do
for you great things and terrible, for thy land,
before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the
nations and their gods?
10-13:28 Now
Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon’s heart is
merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite
Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you?
be courageous, and be valiant.
10-15:27 The king
said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the
city in peace, and your two sons with you,
Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.
10-15:28 See, I
will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me.
10-16:10 And the
king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons
of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David.
Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
10-16:20 Then said
Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you
what we shall do.
10-17:21 And it
came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and
went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the
water: for thus hath Ahithophel counselled against you.
10-18:2 And David
sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Joab, and a third part
under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, and a third part
under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will
surely go forth with you myself also.
10-18:4 And the
king said unto them, What seemeth you best I
will do. And the king stood by the gate side, and all the people came out by
hundreds and by thousands.
10-19:22 And David
said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah,
that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to
death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over
Israel?
10-20:16 Then cried
a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you,
unto Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.
10-21:3 Wherefore
David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you?
and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of
the LORD?
10-21:4 And the
Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his
house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye
shall say, that will I do for you.
11-1:33 The king
also said unto them, Take with you the servants
of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring
him down to Gihon:
11-9:6 But if
ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep
my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
11-11:2 Of the
nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye
shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart
after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
11-12:11 And now
whereas my father did lade you with a heavy
yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you
with scorpions.
11-12:14 And spake
to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke
heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
11-12:28 Whereupon
the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them,
It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem:
behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
11-18:25 And Elijah
said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one
bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and
call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
11-20:7 Then the
king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for
he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for
my gold; and I denied him not.
11-22:28 And
Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me.
And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.
12-1:6 And they
said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again
unto the king that sent you, and say unto him,
Thus saith the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in
Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore
thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt
surely die.
12-1:7 And he
said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these
words?
12-2:18 And when
they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I
not say unto you, Go not?
12-5:7 And it
came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his
clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth
send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
12-6:19 And
Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the
city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man
whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.
12-7:12 And the
king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that
we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves
in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them
alive, and get into the city.
12-10:2 Now as
soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your
master’s sons are with you, and there
are with you chariots and horses, a fenced
city also, and armour;
12-10:23 And Jehu
went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto
the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the
worshippers of Baal only.
12-11:5 And he
commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part
of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even
be keepers of the watch of the king’s house;
12-11:7 And two
parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath,
even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the king.
12-17:13 Yet the
LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and
by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my
commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded
your fathers, and which I sent to you by my
servants the prophets.
12-17:36 But the
LORD, who brought you up out of the land of
Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him
shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
12-17:37 And the
statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote
for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore;
and ye shall not fear other gods.
12-17:38 And the
covenant that I have made with you ye shall not
forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
12-17:39 But the
LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you
out of the hand of all your enemies.
12-18:27 But
Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to
speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on
the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?
12-18:29 Thus saith
the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he
shall not be able to deliver you out of his
hand:
12-18:30 Neither
let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying,
The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the
hand of the king of Assyria.
12-18:32 Until I
come and take you away to a land like your own
land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil
olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto
Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The
LORD will deliver us.
12-22:15 And she
said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,
12-22:18 But to the
king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the
LORD, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, As
touching the words which thou hast heard;
12-25:24 And
Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be
the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon;
and it shall be well with you.
13-12:17 And David went
out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto
me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you:
but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no
wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
13-13:2 And David
said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us
send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land
of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in
their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
13-22:18 Is not
the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given
you rest on every side? for he hath given the
inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the
LORD, and before his people.
13-28:8 Now
therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the
audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your
God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance
for your children after you for ever.
14-7:19 But if ye
turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before
you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship
them;
14-10:11 For
whereas my father put a heavy yoke upon you, I
will put more to your yoke: my father chastised you
with whips, but I will chastise you with
scorpions.
14-10:14 And
answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your
yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you
with scorpions.
14-12:5 Then came
Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were
gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus
saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.
14-13:8 And now
ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David;
and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.
14-13:9 Have ye
not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and
have made you priests after the manner of the
nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself
with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them
that are no gods.
14-13:12 And,
behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests
with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you.
O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye
shall not prosper.
14-15:2 And he
went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and
Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye
be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you;
but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
14-19:6 And said
to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the
LORD, who is with you in the judgment.
14-19:7 Wherefore
now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take
heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God,
nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
14-19:10 And what
cause soever shall come to you of your brethren
that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and
commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass
not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you,
and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
14-19:11 And,
behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you
in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the
house of Judah, for all the king’s matters: also the Levites shall be officers
before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD
shall be with the good.
14-20:15 And he
said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king
Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be
not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is
not yours, but God’s.
14-20:17 Ye shall
not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still,
and see the salvation of the LORD with you,
O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against
them: for the LORD will be with you.
14-23:4 This is
the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you
entering on the sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters
of the doors;
14-24:20 And the
Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood
above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the
commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the
LORD, he hath also forsaken you.
14-28:10 And now ye
purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and
bondwomen unto you: but are there not
with you, even with you,
sins against the LORD your God?
14-28:11 Now hear
me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of
your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the LORD is upon you.
14-29:11 My sons,
be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you
to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and
burn incense.
14-30:6 So the
posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel
and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of
Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will
return to the remnant of you, that are escaped
out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
14-30:8 Now be ye
not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the
LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and
serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
14-30:9 For if ye
turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion
before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this
land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn
away his face from you, if ye return unto
him.
14-32:11 Doth not
Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to
die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of
the hand of the king of Assyria?
14-32:14 Who was
there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly
destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should
be able to deliver you out of mine hand?
14-32:15 Now
therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor
persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe
him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of
mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God
deliver you out of mine hand?
14-34:23 And she
answered them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me,
14-34:26 And as for
the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of
the LORD, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel concerning
the words which thou hast heard;
14-36:23 Thus saith
Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven
given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is
in Judah. Who is there among you of
all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
15-1:3 Who is
there among you of all his people? his God
be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and
build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in
Jerusalem.
15-4:2 Then they
came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us
build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do;
and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur,
which brought us up hither.
15-5:3 At the
same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and
Shetharboznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath
commanded you to build this house, and to make
up this wall?
15-5:9 Then
asked we those elders, and said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls?
15-7:21 And I, even
I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond
the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of
heaven, shall require of you, it be done
speedily,
15-7:24 Also we
certify you, that touching any of the priests
and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it
shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.
16-1:8 Remember,
I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If
ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad
among the nations:
16-1:9 But if
ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were
of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the
heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the
place that I have chosen to set my name there.
16-4:12 And it
came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten
times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.
16-5:10 I
likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money
and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this
usury.
16-5:11 Restore,
I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands,
their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part
of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of
them.
16-6:3 And I
sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I
cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down
to you?
16-13:21 Then I
testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye
do so again, I will lay hands on you.
From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.
16-13:27 Shall we
then hearken unto you to do all this great evil,
to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?
17-8:8 Write ye
also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the
king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is
written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man
reverse.
18-6:28 Now
therefore be content, look upon me; for it is evident unto you if I lie.
18-6:29 Return, I
pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, return
again, my righteousness is in it.
18-12:2 No doubt
but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
18-12:3 But I
have understanding as well as you; I am not
inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such
things as these?
18-13:2 What ye
know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.
18-13:9 Is it
good that he should search you out? or as one
man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?
18-13:10 He will
surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept
persons.
18-13:11 Shall not
his excellency make you afraid? and his dread
fall upon you?
18-16:4 I also
could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul’s stead, I could heap
up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
18-16:5 But I
would strengthen you with my mouth, and the
moving of my lips should asswage your grief.
18-17:10 But as for
you all, do ye return, and come now: for I
cannot find one wise man among you.
18-27:5 God
forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will
not remove mine integrity from me.
18-27:11 I will
teach you by the hand of God: that which is
with the Almighty will I not conceal.
18-32:6 And Elihu
the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are
very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.
18-32:12 Yea, I
attended unto you, and, behold, there was none
of you that convinced Job, or that
answered his words:
18-32:21 Let me
not, I pray you, accept any man’s person, neither
let me give flattering titles unto man.
18-42:8 Therefore
take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams,
and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my
servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I
accept: lest I deal with you after your folly,
in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my
servant Job.

ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you
be swift.

therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may
have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a
God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
23-30:20 And though
the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and
the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner
any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which
your own hands have made unto you for a
sin.
23-32:11 Tremble,
ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare,
and gird sackcloth upon your loins.

Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these

that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he
shall not be able to deliver you.

from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
23-41:24 Behold, ye
are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth
you.
23-42:9 Behold,
the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they
spring forth I tell you of them.
23-42:23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and
hear for the time to come?
23-43:12 I have
declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god
among you: therefore ye are my
witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
23-46:4 And even
to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I
carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even
I will carry, and will deliver you.

saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I
have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves,
and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the
voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let
him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
23-51:2 Look unto
Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you:
for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
23-51:12 I, even
I, am he that comforteth you: who art
thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of
the son of man which shall be made as grass;
23-52:12 For ye
shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your
rereward.
23-55:3 Incline
your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an
everlasting covenant with you, even the
sure mercies of David.
23-55:12 For ye
shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills
shall break forth before you into singing, and
all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
23-59:2 But your
iniquities have separated between you and your
God, and your sins have hid his face from you,
that he will not hear.
23-61:6 But ye
shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches
of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
23-65:12 Therefore
will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all
bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I
spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein
I delighted not.
23-66:5 Hear the
word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out
for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to
your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
23-66:13 As one
whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you;
and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
24-2:7 And I
brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the
fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my
land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
24-2:9 Wherefore
I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and
with your children’s children will I plead.
24-3:12 Go and proclaim
these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith
the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I
will not keep anger for ever.
24-3:14 Turn, O
backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you
one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you
to Zion:
24-3:15 And I
will give you pastors according to mine heart,
which shall feed you with knowledge and
understanding.
24-4:8 For this
gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for
the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
24-5:15 Lo, I
will bring a nation upon you from far, O house
of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an
ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest
what they say.
24-5:18 Nevertheless
in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
24-5:25 Your
iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden
good things from you.
24-6:17 Also I
set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to
the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
24-7:3 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings,
and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
24-7:7 Then
will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the
land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
24-7:13 And now,
because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not;
and I called you, but ye answered not;
24-7:14 Therefore
will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust,
and unto the place which I gave to you and to
your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
24-7:15 And I
will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast
out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
24-7:23 But this
thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye
shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
24-7:25 Since the
day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have
even sent unto you all my servants the prophets,
daily rising up early and sending them:
24-8:17 For,
behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you,
which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.
24-10:1 Hear ye
the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O
house of Israel:
24-11:4 Which I
commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the
land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them,
according to all which I command you: so shall
ye be my people, and I will be your God:
24-14:13 Then said
I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the
sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you
assured peace in this place.
24-14:14 Then the
LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not,
neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of
nought, and the deceit of their heart.
24-15:14 And I will
make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou
knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.
24-16:13 Therefore
will I cast you out of this land into a land
that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve
other gods day and night; where I will not shew you
favour.
24-18:6 O house
of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter?
saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye
in mine hand, O house of Israel.
24-18:11 Now
therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and
make your ways and your doings good.
24-21:4 Thus
saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are
in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against
the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the
walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
24-21:5 And I
myself will fight against you with an
outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in
great wrath.
24-21:8 And unto
this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
24-21:9 He that abideth
in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence:
but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for
a prey.
24-21:14 But I will
punish you according to the fruit of your
doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it
shall devour all things round about it.
24-23:2 Therefore
thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye
have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them:
behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your
doings, saith the LORD.
24-23:16 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy
unto you: they make you
vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth
of the LORD.
24-23:17 They say
still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and
they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No
evil shall come upon you.
24-23:33 And when
this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the
burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even
forsake you, saith the LORD.
24-23:38 But since
ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say
this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
24-23:39 Therefore,
behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and
I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
24-23:40 And I will
bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a
perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
24-25:3 From the
thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day,
that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come
unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising
early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
24-25:4 And the
LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the
prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor
inclined your ear to hear.
24-25:5 They
said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your
doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
24-25:6 And go
not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to
anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you
no hurt.
24-25:27 Therefore thou
shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye,
and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword
which I will send among you.
24-26:4 And thou shalt
say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my
law, which I have set before you,
24-26:5 To
hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but
ye have not hearkened;
24-26:13 Therefore
now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God;
and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
24-26:14 As for me,
behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.
24-26:15 But know
ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent
blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof:
for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to
speak all these words in your ears.
24-27:9 Therefore
hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers,
nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
24-27:10 For they
prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.
24-27:14 Therefore
hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
for they prophesy a lie unto you.
24-27:15 For I have
not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might
drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and
the prophets that prophesy unto you.
24-27:16 Also I spake
to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Hearken not
to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you,
saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD’S house shall now shortly be brought
again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
24-29:7 And seek
the peace of the city whither I have caused you
to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace
thereof shall ye have peace.
24-29:8 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your
diviners, that be in the midst of you,
deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams
which ye cause to be dreamed.
24-29:9 For they
prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not
sent them, saith the LORD.
24-29:10 For thus
saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will
visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to
return to this place.
24-29:11 For I know
the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the
LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you
an expected end.
24-29:12 Then shall
ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
24-29:14 And I will
be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn
away your captivity, and I will gather you from
all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
24-29:16 Know that
thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of
all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are
not gone forth with you into captivity;
24-29:21 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah
the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you
in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of
Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;
24-29:27 Now
therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself
a prophet to you?
24-29:31 Send to
all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the
Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you,
and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust
in a lie:
24-34:16 But ye
turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man
his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and
brought them into subjection, to be unto you for
servants and for handmaids.
24-34:17 Therefore
thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty,
every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a
liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword,
to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you
to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
24-34:21 And
Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their
enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of
the king of Babylon’s army, which are gone up from you.
24-35:14 The words
of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are
performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s
commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you,
rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
24-35:15 I have
sent also unto you all my servants the prophets,
rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from
his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them,
and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you
and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
24-35:18 And
Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts,
the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your
father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath
commanded you:
24-37:7 Thus
saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that
sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold,
Pharaoh’s army, which is come forth to help you,
shall return to Egypt into their own land.
24-37:10 For though
ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among
them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city
with fire.
24-37:19 Where are
now your prophets which prophesied unto you,
saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you,
nor against this land?
24-38:5 Then
Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not
he that can do any thing against you.
24-40:3 Now the
LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye
have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this
thing is come upon you.
24-40:9 And
Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men,
saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king
of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
24-42:4 Then
Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you;
behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it
shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.
24-42:10 If ye will
still abide in this land, then will I build you,
and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you
up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.
24-42:11 Be not afraid
of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the
LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you
from his hand.
24-42:12 And I will
shew mercies unto you, that he may have mercy
upon you, and cause you
to return to your own land.
24-42:16 Then it
shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine,
whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close after you
there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.
24-42:18 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been
poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured
forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt:
and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a
reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
24-42:19 The LORD
hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah;
Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.
24-42:21 And now
I have this day declared it to you;
but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for
the which he hath sent me unto you.
24-44:4 Howbeit I
sent unto you all my servants the prophets,
rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing
that I hate.
24-44:7 Therefore
now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit
ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah,
to leave you none to remain;
24-44:10 They are
not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in
my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you
and before your fathers.
24-44:11 Therefore
thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face
against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
24-44:23 Because ye
have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not
obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor
in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.
24-44:29 And this shall
be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I
will punish you in this place, that ye may know
that my words shall surely stand against you for
evil:
24-49:3 Howl, O
Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the
hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his
princes together.
24-49:30 Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor,
saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.
24-49:31 Arise, get
you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth
without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell
alone.
24-50:12 Your
mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you
shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a
wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
25-1:12 Is it nothing
to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if
there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the
LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
25-1:18 The LORD
is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and
my young men are gone into captivity.
26-5:7 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are
round about you, and have not walked
in my statutes, neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to
the judgments of the nations that are round about you;
26-5:16 When I
shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction,
and which I will send to destroy you: and
I will increase the famine upon you, and will
break your staff of bread:
26-5:17 So will I
send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they
shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will
bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.
26-6:3 And say,
Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD
to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold,
I, even I, will bring a sword upon you,
and I will destroy your high places.
26-6:7 And the
slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye
shall know that I am the LORD.
26-6:9 And they
that escape of you shall remember me among the nations
whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish
heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring
after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they
have committed in all their abominations.
26-11:7 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are
the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.
26-11:8 Ye have
feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you,
saith the Lord GOD.
26-11:9 And I
will bring you out of the midst thereof, and
deliver you into the hands of strangers, and
will execute judgments among you.
26-11:10 Ye shall
fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border
of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
26-11:11 This city
shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst
thereof; but I will judge you in the
border of Israel:
26-11:12 And ye
shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes,
neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen
that are round about you.
26-11:15 Son of
man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all
the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of
Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD:
unto us is this land given in possession.
26-11:17 Therefore
say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you
from the people, and assemble you out of the
countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
26-11:19 And I will
give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will
give them an heart of flesh:
26-13:8 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies,
therefore, behold, I am against you,
saith the Lord GOD.
26-13:12 Lo, when
the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you,
Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?
26-13:15 Thus will
I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with
untempered morter, and will say unto you,
The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;
26-13:18 And say,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all
armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will
ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto
you?
26-14:22 Yet,
behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons
and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you,
and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted
concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning
all that I have brought upon it.
26-14:23 And they
shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and
their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I
have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
26-18:30 Therefore
I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one
according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from
all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
26-18:31 Cast away
from you all your transgressions, whereby ye
have transgressed; and make you a new heart and
a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
26-20:3 Son of
man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will
not be enquired of by you.
26-20:20 And hallow
my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you,
that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
26-20:31 For when
ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye
pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be
enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I
live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
26-20:33 As I
live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out
arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:
26-20:34 And I will
bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered,
with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
26-20:35 And I will
bring you into the wilderness of the people, and
there will I plead with you face to face.
26-20:36 Like as I
pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I
plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
26-20:37 And I will
cause you to pass under the rod, and I will
bring you into the bond of the covenant:
26-20:38 And I will
purge out from among you the rebels, and them
that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where
they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall
know that I am the LORD.
26-20:39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go
ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not
hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with
your idols.
26-20:41 I will
accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been
scattered; and I will be sanctified in you
before the heathen.
26-20:42 And ye
shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the
which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.
26-20:44 And ye
shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name’s sake, not according to your wicked
ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the
Lord GOD.
26-22:19 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I
will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
26-22:20 As they
gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the
furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave
you there, and melt you.
26-22:21 Yea, I
will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in
the midst thereof.
26-22:22 As silver
is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst
thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
26-23:49 And they
shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye
shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord
GOD.
26-24:24 Thus
Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that
he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the
Lord GOD.
26-33:20 Yet ye
say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
26-33:30 Also, thou
son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the
walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to
his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear
what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
26-34:3 Ye eat the
fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill
them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.
26-34:17 And as
for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord
GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he
goats.
26-34:18 Seemeth
it a small thing unto you to have eaten up
the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your
pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue
with your feet?
26-36:2 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:
26-36:3 Therefore
prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession
unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers,
and are an infamy of the people:
26-36:7 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are
about you, they shall bear their shame.
26-36:9 For,
behold, I am for you, and I will turn
unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
26-36:10 And I will
multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even
all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be
builded:
26-36:11 And I will
multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall
increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you
after your old estates, and will do better unto you
than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
26-36:12 Yea, I
will cause men to walk upon you, even my
people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their
inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men.
26-36:13 Thus saith
the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land
devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations;
26-36:23 And I will
sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have
profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the
LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
26-36:24 For I will
take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
26-36:25 Then will
I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be
clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26-36:26 A new
heart also will I give you, and a new spirit
will I put within you: and I will take away the
stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you
an heart of flesh.
26-36:27 And I will
put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my
judgments, and do them.
26-36:29 I will
also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I
will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
26-36:32 Not for
your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O
house of Israel.
26-36:33 Thus saith
the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you
from all your iniquities I will also cause you
to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
26-36:36 Then the
heathen that are left round about you shall know
that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was
desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.
26-37:5 Thus
saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
26-37:6 And I
will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up
flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am
the LORD.
26-37:12 Therefore
prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I
will open your graves, and cause you to come up
out of your graves, and bring you into the land
of Israel.
26-37:13 And ye
shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my
people, and brought you up out of your graves,
26-37:14 And shall
put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I
shall place you in your own land: then shall ye
know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the
LORD.
26-39:17 And, thou
son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to
every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on
every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you,
even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat
flesh, and drink blood.
26-39:19 And ye
shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my
sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
26-43:27 And when
these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so
forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and
your peace offerings; and I will accept you,
saith the Lord GOD.
26-44:6 And thou
shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you
of all your abominations,
26-45:9 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O
princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice,
take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD.
26-47:14 And ye
shall inherit it, one as well as another: concerning the which I lifted
up mine hand to give it unto your fathers: and this land shall fall unto you for inheritance.
26-47:21 So shall
ye divide this land unto you according to the
tribes of Israel.
26-47:22 And it
shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance
unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn
among you, which shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you
as born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall have
inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.
27-2:9 But if
ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to
speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I
shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
27-3:4 Then an
herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O
people, nations, and languages,
27-3:15 Now if ye
be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp,
sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and
worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye

28-5:1 Hear ye
this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of
the king; for judgment is toward you,
because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
28-5:13 When
Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to
the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your
wound.
28-10:12 Sow to
yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it
is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
28-10:15 So shall
Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness:
in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.
28-14:2 Take with
you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him,
Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the
calves of our lips.
29-2:19 Yea, the
LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied
therewith: and I will no more make you a
reproach among the heathen:
29-2:20 But I
will remove far off from you the northern army,
and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward
the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall
come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
29-2:23 Be glad
then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to
come down for you the rain, the former rain, and
the latter rain in the first month.
29-2:25 And I
will restore to you the years that the locust
hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great
army which I sent among you.
29-2:26 And ye
shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your
God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my
people shall never be ashamed.
29-3:13 Put ye in
the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you
down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
30-2:10 Also I
brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the
land of the Amorite.
30-2:13 Behold, I
am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that
is full of sheaves.
30-3:1 Hear
this word that the LORD hath spoken against you,
O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land
of Egypt, saying,
30-3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the
earth: therefore I will punish you for all your
iniquities.
30-4:2 The Lord
GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you
away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
30-4:5 And
offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish
the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye
children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
30-4:6 And I
also have given you cleanness of teeth in all
your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned
unto me, saith the LORD.
30-4:7 And also
I have withholden the rain from you, when there
were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one
city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon,
and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
30-4:9 I have
smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your
gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased,
the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith
the LORD.
30-4:10 I have
sent among you the pestilence after the manner
of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your
horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils:
yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
30-4:11 I have
overthrown some of you, as God overthrew
Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet
have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
30-5:1 Hear ye
this word which I take up against you, even a
lamentation, O house of Israel.
30-5:14 Seek
good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall
be with you, as ye have spoken.
30-5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is
it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness,
and not light.
30-5:27 Therefore
will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus,
saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
30-6:14 But,
behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O
house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of
the wilderness.
32-1:12 And he
said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be
calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this
great tempest is upon you.
33-1:2 Hear,
all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD
be witness against you, the Lord from his holy
temple.
33-1:11 Pass ye
away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan
came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel; he shall receive of you his standing.
33-2:4 In that
day shall one take up a parable against you,
and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled:
he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from
me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
33-2:10 Arise ye,
and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it
shall destroy you, even with a sore
destruction.
33-3:1 And I
said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye
princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you
to know judgment?
33-3:6 Therefore
night shall be unto you, that ye shall
not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you,
that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the
day shall be dark over them.
33-3:9 Hear
this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of
Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all
equity.
35-1:5 Behold ye
among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work
a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.
36-2:2 Before
the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the
fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before
the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you.
36-2:5 Woe unto
the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of
the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the
land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no
inhabitant.
36-3:20 At that
time will I bring you again, even in the
time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth,
when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
37-1:4 Is it
time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled
houses, and this house lie waste?
37-1:6 Ye have
sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but
ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but
there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into
a bag with holes.
37-1:10 Therefore
the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the
earth is stayed from her fruit.
37-1:13 Then spake
Haggai the LORD’S messenger in the LORD’S message unto the people, saying, I am
with you, saith the LORD.
37-2:3 Who is
left among you that saw this house in her
first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in
comparison of it as nothing?
37-2:4 Yet now
be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of
Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the
LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith
the LORD of hosts:
37-2:5 According
to the word that I covenanted with you when
ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you:
fear ye not.
37-2:15 And now,
I pray you, consider from this day and upward,
from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:
37-2:17 I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all
the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.
37-2:19 Is the
seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the
pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I
bless you.
38-1:3 Therefore
say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the
LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith
the LORD of hosts.
38-2:6 Ho, ho, come
forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have
spread you abroad as the four winds of the
heaven, saith the LORD.
38-2:8 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which
spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
38-4:9 The
hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall
also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
38-6:7 And the
bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the
earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and
fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.
38-6:15 And they that
are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall
know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the
LORD your God.
38-7:10 And
oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let
none of you imagine evil against his brother in
your heart.
38-8:13 And it
shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house
of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you,
and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
38-8:14 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you,
when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented
not:
38-8:17 And let
none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his
neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate,
saith the LORD.
38-8:23 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten
men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of
the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
38-9:12 Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to
day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
38-11:7 And I
will feed the flock of slaughter, even you,
O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty,
and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
38-11:9 Then said
I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it
die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat
every one the flesh of another.
39-1:2 I have
loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein
hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I
loved Jacob,
39-1:6 A son
honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a
father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my
fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O
priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
39-1:9 And now,
I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious
unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the
LORD of hosts.
39-1:10 Who is
there even among you that would shut the
doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for
nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the
LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
39-2:1 And now,
O ye priests, this commandment is for you.
39-2:2 If ye
will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my
name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have
cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
39-2:3 Behold,
I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung
of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you
away with it.
39-2:4 And ye
shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you,
that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
39-2:9 Therefore
have I also made you contemptible and base
before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been
partial in the law.
39-3:5 And I
will come near to you to judgment; and I will be
a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against
false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages,
the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his
right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
39-3:7 Even
from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have
not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein
shall we return?
39-3:10 Bring ye
all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and
prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be
room enough to receive it.
39-3:12 And all
nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a
delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
39-4:2 But unto
you that fear my name shall the Sun of
righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow
up as calves of the stall.
39-4:5 Behold,
I will send you Elijah the prophet before the
coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
40-3:7 But when
he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto
them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you
to flee from the wrath to come?
40-3:9 And
think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I
say unto you, that God is able of these stones
to raise up children unto Abraham.
40-3:11 I indeed
baptize you with water unto repentance: but he
that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:
he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with
fire:
40-4:19 And he
saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you
fishers of men.
40-5:11 Blessed
are ye, when men shall revile you, and
persecute you, and shall say all manner
of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
40-5:12 Rejoice,
and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so
persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
40-5:18 For
verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth
pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be
fulfilled.
40-5:20 For I say
unto you, That except your righteousness shall
exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no
case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
40-5:22 But I say
unto you, That whosoever is angry with his
brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall
say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever
shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
40-5:28 But I say
unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to
lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
40-5:32 But I say
unto you, That whosoever shall put away his
wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and
whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
40-5:34 But I say
unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven;
for it is God’s throne:
40-5:39 But I say
unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever
shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40-5:44 But I say
unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that
curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
40-5:46 For if ye
love them which love you, what reward have ye?
do not even the publicans the same?
40-6:2 Therefore
when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the
hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of
men. Verily I say unto you, They have their
reward.
40-6:5 And when
thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to
pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they
may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They
have their reward.
40-6:14 For if ye
forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
40-6:16 Moreover
when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure
their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
40-6:25 Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall
put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
40-6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his
stature?
40-6:29 And yet I
say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory
was not arrayed like one of these.
40-6:30 Wherefore,
if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast
into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
40-6:33 But seek
ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall
be added unto you.
40-7:2 For with
what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it
shall be measured to you again.
40-7:6 Give not
that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest
they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
40-7:7 Ask, and
it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
40-7:9 Or what
man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread,
will he give him a stone?
40-7:12 Therefore
all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you,
do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
40-7:15 Beware of
false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
40-7:23 And then
will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
40-8:10 When
Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I
say unto you, I have not found so great faith,
no, not in Israel.
40-8:11 And I say
unto you, That many shall come from the east and
west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of
heaven.
40-9:29 Then
touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
40-10:13 And if the
house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your
peace return to you.
40-10:14 And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your
words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your
feet.
40-10:15 Verily I
say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the
land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
40-10:16 Behold, I
send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves:
be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
40-10:17 But beware
of men: for they will deliver you up to the
councils, and they will scourge you in their
synagogues;
40-10:19 But when
they deliver you up, take no thought how or what
ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in
that same hour what ye shall speak.
40-10:20 For it is
not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
40-10:23 But when
they persecute you in this city, flee ye into
another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not
have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
40-10:27 What I
tell you in darkness, that speak ye in
light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
40-10:40 He that
receiveth you receiveth me, and he that
receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
40-10:42 And
whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water
only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you,
he shall in no wise lose his reward.
40-11:9 But what
went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you,
and more than a prophet.
40-11:11 Verily I
say unto you, Among them that are born of women
there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that
is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
40-11:17 And saying,
We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced;
we have mourned unto you, and ye have not
lamented.
40-11:21 Woe unto
thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were
done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon,
they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
40-11:22 But I say
unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre
and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
40-11:24 But I say
unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for
the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
40-11:28 Come unto
me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
40-11:29 Take my
yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek
and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
40-12:6 But I say
unto you, That in this place is one greater
than the temple.
40-12:11 And he
said unto them, What man shall there be among you,
that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will
he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
40-12:28 But if I
cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
40-12:31 Wherefore
I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy
shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost
shall not be forgiven unto men.
40-12:36 But I say
unto you, That every idle word that men shall
speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
40-13:11 He
answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you
to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
40-13:17 For verily
I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous
men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not
seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not
heard them.
40-15:7 Ye hypocrites,
well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
40-16:11 How is it
that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
40-16:28 Verily I
say unto you, There be some standing here, which
shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
40-17:12 But I say
unto you, That Elias is come already, and they
knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall
also the Son of man suffer of them.
40-17:17 Then Jesus
answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be
with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
40-17:20 And Jesus
said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall
remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
40-18:3 And said,
Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted,
and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
40-18:10 Take heed
that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the
face of my Father which is in heaven.
40-18:13 And if so
be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he
rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not
astray.
40-18:18 Verily I
say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be
loosed in heaven.
40-18:19 Again I
say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that
they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
40-18:35 So
likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you,
if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
40-19:8 He saith
unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it
was not so.
40-19:9 And I say
unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife,
except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth
adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
40-19:23 Then said Jesus
unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That
a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
40-19:24 And again
I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of
God.
40-19:28 And Jesus
said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye
which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in
the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the
twelve tribes of Israel.
40-20:4 And said
unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
40-20:26 But it
shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be
great among you, let him be your minister;
40-20:27 And whosoever
will be chief among you, let him be your
servant:
40-20:32 And Jesus
stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
40-21:2 Saying
unto them, Go into the village over against you,
and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and
bring them unto me.
40-21:3 And if
any man say ought unto you, ye shall say,
The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
40-21:21 Jesus
answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to
the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and
be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
40-21:24 And Jesus
answered and said unto them, I also will ask you
one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
40-21:27 And they
answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I
you by what authority I do these things.
40-21:31 Whether of
them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first.
Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
40-21:32 For John
came unto you in the way of righteousness, and
ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye,
when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
40-21:43 Therefore
say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be
taken from you, and given to a nation bringing
forth the fruits thereof.
40-22:31 But as
touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken
unto you by God, saying,
40-23:3 All
therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that
observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
40-23:11 But he
that is greatest among you shall be your
servant.
40-23:13 But woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves,
neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
40-23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour
widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive
the greater damnation.
40-23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass
sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold
more the child of hell than yourselves.
40-23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever
shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold
of the temple, he is a debtor!
40-23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay
tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of
the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to
leave the other undone.
40-23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make
clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of
extortion and excess.
40-23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are
like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are
within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
40-23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye
build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
40-23:34 Wherefore,
behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men,
and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of
them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city
to city:
40-23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the
earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of
Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
40-23:36 Verily I
say unto you, All these things shall come upon
this generation.
40-23:38 Behold,
your house is left unto you desolate.
40-23:39 For I say
unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till
ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
40-24:2 And Jesus
said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon
another, that shall not be thrown down.
40-24:4 And Jesus
answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
40-24:9 Then
shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and
shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all
nations for my name’s sake.
40-24:23 Then if
any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ,
or there; believe it not.
40-24:25 Behold, I
have told you before.
40-24:26 Wherefore
if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the
desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it
not.
40-24:34 Verily I
say unto you, This generation shall not pass,
till all these things be fulfilled.
40-24:47 Verily I
say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over
all his goods.
40-25:9 But the
wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for
yourselves.
40-25:12 But he
answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know
you not.
40-25:34 Then shall
the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world:
40-25:40 And the
King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.
40-25:45 Then shall
he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch
as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to
me.
40-26:11 For ye
have the poor always with you; but me ye have
not always.
40-26:13 Verily I
say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be
preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath
done, be told for a memorial of her.
40-26:15 And said unto
them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of
silver.
40-26:21 And as
they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you,
that one of you shall betray me.
40-26:29 But I say
unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this
fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
40-26:32 But after
I am risen again, I will go before you into
Galilee.
40-26:55 In that
same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with
swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you
teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
40-26:64 Jesus
saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right
hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
40-27:17 Therefore
when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I
release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is
called Christ?
40-27:21 The
governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I
release unto you? They said, Barabbas.
40-28:7 And go quickly,
and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth
before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him:
lo, I have told you.
40-28:14 And if
this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
40-28:20 Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto
the end of the world. Amen.
41-1:8 I indeed
have baptized you with water: but he shall
baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
41-1:17 And Jesus
said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you
to become fishers of men.
41-3:28 Verily I
say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto
the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
41-4:11 And he
said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the
mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things
are done in parables:
41-4:24 And he
said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
41-6:11 And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under
your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha
in the day of judgment, than for that city.
41-7:6 He
answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people
honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
41-7:14 And when
he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto
me every one of you, and understand:
41-8:12 And he
sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a
sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign
be given unto this generation.
41-9:1 And he
said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That
there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till
they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
41-9:13 But I say
unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they
have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
41-9:19 He
answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you?
bring him unto me.
41-9:41 For
whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink
in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
41-10:3 And he
answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
41-10:5 And Jesus
answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
41-10:15 Verily I
say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the
kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
41-10:29 And Jesus
answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There
is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother,
or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
41-10:36 And he
said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
41-10:43 But so
shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be
great among you, shall be your minister:
41-10:44 And
whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be
servant of all.
41-11:2 And saith
unto them, Go your way into the village over against you:
and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never
man sat; loose him, and bring him.
41-11:3 And if
any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye
that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
41-11:23 For verily
I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto
this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not
doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall
come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
41-11:24 Therefore
I say unto you, What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
41-11:25 And when
ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also
which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.
41-11:29 And Jesus
answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you
one question, and answer me, and I will tell you
by what authority I do these things.
41-11:33 And they
answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto
them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I
do these things.
41-12:43 And he
called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all
they which have cast into the treasury:
41-13:5 And Jesus
answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
41-13:9 But take
heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you
up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be
brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
41-13:11 But when
they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall
speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that
speak, but the Holy Ghost.
41-13:21 And then
if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ;
or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
41-13:23 But take
ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
41-13:30 Verily I
say unto you, that this generation shall not pass,
till all these things be done.
41-13:36 Lest
coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
41-13:37 And what I
say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
41-14:7 For ye
have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye
will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
41-14:9 Verily I
say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be
preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall
be spoken of for a memorial of her.
41-14:13 And he
sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city,
and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher
of water: follow him.
41-14:15 And he
will shew you a large upper room furnished and
prepared: there make ready for us.
41-14:18 And as they
sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you,
One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
41-14:25 Verily I
say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit
of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
41-14:28 But after
that I am risen, I will go before you into
Galilee.
41-14:49 I was
daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye
took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.
41-15:9 But
Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
41-16:7 But go
your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said
unto you.
42-2:10 And the
angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you
good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
42-2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord.
42-2:12 And this shall
be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
42-3:7 Then
said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of
vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the
wrath to come?
42-3:8 Bring
forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves,
We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you,
That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
42-3:13 And he
said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.
42-3:16 John
answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of
whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
42-4:24 And he
said, Verily, I say unto you, No prophet is
accepted in his own country.
42-4:25 But I
tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel
in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months,
when great famine was throughout all the land;
42-6:9 Then
said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing;
Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to
destroy it?
42-6:22 Blessed
are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they
shall separate you from their company, and
shall reproach you, and cast out your
name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
42-6:24 But woe
unto you that are rich! for ye have received
your consolation.
42-6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
42-6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
42-6:27 But I say
unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good
to them which hate you,
42-6:28 Bless
them that curse you, and pray for them which
despitefully use you.
42-6:31 And as ye
would that men should do to you, do ye also to
them likewise.
42-6:32 For if ye
love them which love you, what thank have ye?
for sinners also love those that love them.
42-6:33 And if ye
do good to them which do good to you, what thank
have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
42-6:38 Give, and
it shall be given unto you; good measure,
pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your
bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
42-6:47 Whosoever
cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
42-7:9 When
Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said
unto the people that followed him, I say unto you,
I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
42-7:26 But what
went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you,
and much more than a prophet.
42-7:28 For I say
unto you, Among those that are born of women there
is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the
kingdom of God is greater than he.
42-7:32 They are
like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and
saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not
danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not
wept.
42-8:10 And he
said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries
of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not
see, and hearing they might not understand.
42-9:5 And
whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out
of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against
them.
42-9:27 But I
tell you of a truth, there be some standing
here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
42-9:41 And Jesus
answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you?
Bring thy son hither.
42-9:48 And said
unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and
whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least
among you all, the same shall be great.
42-10:3 Go your
ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among
wolves.
42-10:6 And if
the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn
to you again.
42-10:8 And into
whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you,
eat such things as are set before you:
42-10:9 And heal
the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh
unto you.
42-10:10 But into
whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you
not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
42-10:11 Even the
very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the
kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
42-10:12 But I say
unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in
that day for Sodom, than for that city.
42-10:13 Woe unto
thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done
in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you,
they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
42-10:14 But it
shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
42-10:16 He that
heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth
him that sent me.
42-10:19 Behold, I
give unto you power to tread on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means
hurt you.
42-10:20 Notwithstanding
in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you;
but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
42-10:24 For I tell
you, that many prophets and kings have desired
to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear
those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
42-11:5 And he
said unto them, Which of you shall have a
friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me
three loaves;
42-11:8 I say
unto you, Though he will not rise and give him,
because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give
him as many as he needeth.
42-11:9 And I say
unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you.
42-11:11 If a son
shall ask bread of any of you that is a father,
will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give
him a serpent?
42-11:20 But if I
with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come
upon you.
42-11:41 But rather
give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
42-11:42 But woe
unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue
and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these
ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
42-11:43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the
synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
42-11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as
graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of
them.
42-11:46 And he
said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for
ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the
burdens with one of your fingers.
42-11:47 Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and
your fathers killed them.
42-11:51 From the
blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and
the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be
required of this generation.
42-11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of
knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye
hindered.
42-12:4 And I say
unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that
kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
42-12:5 But I
will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him,
which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
42-12:8 Also I
say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before
men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
42-12:11 And when
they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates,
and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye
shall say:
42-12:12 For the
Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what
ye ought to say.
42-12:14 And he
said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
42-12:22 And he
said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you,
Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye
shall put on.
42-12:25 And which
of you with taking thought can add to his
stature one cubit?
42-12:27 Consider
the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these.
42-12:28 If then
God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast
into the oven; how much more will he clothe you,
O ye of little faith?
42-12:31 But rather
seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
42-12:32 Fear not,
little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
42-12:37 Blessed are
those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I
say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and
make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
42-12:44 Of a truth
I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over
all that he hath.
42-12:51 Suppose ye
that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you,
Nay; but rather division:
42-13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise
perish.
42-13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise

42-13:15 The Lord
then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from
the stall, and lead him away to watering?
42-13:24 Strive to
enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you,
will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
42-13:25 When once
the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to
stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and
he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
42-13:27 But he
shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers
of iniquity.
42-13:28 There
shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac,
and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
42-13:35 Behold,
your house is left unto you desolate: and verily
I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the
time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name
of the Lord.
42-14:5 And
answered them, saying, Which of you shall have
an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the
sabbath day?
42-14:24 For I say
unto you, That none of those men which were
bidden shall taste of my supper.
42-14:28 For which
of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not
down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
42-14:33 So
likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh
not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
42-15:4 What man
of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one
of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after
that which is lost, until he find it?
42-15:7 I say
unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven
over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons,
which need no repentance.
42-15:10 Likewise,
I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of
the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
42-16:9 And I say
unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the
mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
42-16:12 And if ye
have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
42-16:26 And beside
all this, between us and you there is a great
gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from
thence.
42-17:6 And the
Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this
sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea;
and it should obey you.
42-17:7 But which
of you, having a servant plowing or feeding
cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit
down to meat?
42-17:10 So
likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done
that which was our duty to do.
42-17:21 Neither
shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is
within you.
42-17:23 And they
shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go
not after them, nor follow them.
42-17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in
one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
42-18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless
when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
42-18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather
than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he
that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
42-18:17 Verily I
say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the
kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
42-18:29 And he
said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is
no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for
the kingdom of God’s sake,

unto you, That unto every one which hath shall
be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away

the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man
sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
42-19:31 And if any
man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus
shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
42-19:40 And he
answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if
these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
42-20:3 And he
answered and said unto them, I will also ask you
one thing; and answer me:
42-20:8 And Jesus
said unto them, Neither tell I you by what
authority I do these things.
42-21:3 And he
said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor
widow hath cast in more than they all:
42-21:12 But before
all these, they shall lay their hands on you,
and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being
brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.
42-21:13 And it
shall turn to you for a testimony.
42-21:15 For I will
give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your
adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
42-21:16 And ye
shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends;
and some of you shall they cause to be
put to death.
42-21:32 Verily I
say unto you, This generation shall not pass
away, till all be fulfilled.
42-21:34 And take
heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with
surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day
come upon you unawares.
42-22:10 And he
said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man
meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him
into the house where he entereth in.
42-22:12 And he
shall shew you a large upper room furnished:
there make ready.
42-22:15 And he
said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
42-22:16 For I say
unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until
it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
42-22:18 For I say
unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the
vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
42-22:19 And he
took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying,
This is my body which is given for you: this do
in remembrance of me.
42-22:20 Likewise
also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my
blood, which is shed for you.
42-22:26 But ye shall
not be so: but he that is greatest among you,
let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
42-22:27 For
whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not
he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as
he that serveth.
42-22:29 And I
appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath
appointed unto me;
42-22:31 And the
Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you
as wheat:
42-22:35 And he
said unto them, When I sent you without purse,
and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
42-22:37 For I say
unto you, that this that is written must yet be
accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things
concerning me have an end.
42-22:53 When I was
daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth
no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
42-22:67 Art thou
the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you,
ye will not believe:
42-22:68 And if I
also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor
let me go.
42-23:14 Said unto
them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and,
behold, I, having examined him before you,
have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:

yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo,
nothing worthy of death is done unto him.
42-24:6 He is not
here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you
when he was yet in Galilee,

they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them,
Peace be unto you.
42-24:44 And he
said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you,
that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in
the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
42-24:49 And,
behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you:
but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on
high.
43-1:26 John
answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and
descending upon the Son of man.
43-2:5 His
mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
43-3:12 If I have
told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how
shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly
things?
43-4:35 Say not
ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say
unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the
fields; for they are white already to harvest.
43-4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other
men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
43-5:19 Then
answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he
seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son
likewise.
43-5:24 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word,
and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
43-5:25 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and
now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that
hear shall live.
43-5:38 And ye
have not his word abiding in you: for whom he
hath sent, him ye believe not.
43-5:42 But I
know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43-5:45 Do not
think that I will accuse you to the Father:
there is one that accuseth you, even Moses,
in whom ye trust.
43-6:26 Jesus answered
them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the
loaves, and were filled.
43-6:27 Labour
not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting
life, which the Son of man shall give unto you:
for him hath God the Father sealed.
43-6:32 Then
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but
my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
43-6:36 But I
said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and
believe not.
43-6:47 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me
hath everlasting life.
43-6:53 Then
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life
in you.
43-6:61 When
Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them,
Doth this offend you?
43-6:63 It is the
spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak
unto you, they are spirit, and they are
life.
43-6:64 But there
are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew
from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
43-6:65 And he
said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can
come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
43-6:70 Jesus
answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and
one of you is a devil?
43-7:7 The
world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because
I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
43-7:19 Did not
Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
43-7:22 Moses
therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not
because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day
circumcise a man.
43-7:33 Then said
Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you,
and then I go unto him that sent me.
43-8:7 So when they
continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is
without sin among you, let him first cast a
stone at her.
43-8:24 I said
therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your
sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
43-8:25 Then said
they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that
I said unto you from the beginning.
43-8:26 I have
many things to say and to judge of you: but he
that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard
of him.
43-8:32 And ye
shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
free.
43-8:34 Jesus
answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
43-8:36 If the
Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be
free indeed.
43-8:37 I know
that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no
place in you.
43-8:40 But now
ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the
truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
43-8:45 And
because I tell you the truth, ye believe
me not.
43-8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why
do ye not believe me?
43-8:51 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying,
he shall never see death.
43-8:55 Yet ye
have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I
shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him,
and keep his saying.
43-8:58 Jesus
said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Before Abraham was, I am.
43-9:27 He
answered them, I have told you already, and ye
did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his
disciples?
43-10:1 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the
door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief
and a robber.
43-10:7 Then said
Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
I am the door of the sheep.
43-10:25 Jesus
answered them, I told you, and ye believed not:
the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.
43-10:26 But ye
believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
43-10:32 Jesus
answered them, Many good works have I shewed you
from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
43-12:8 For the
poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not
always.
43-12:24 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat
fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth
forth much fruit.
43-12:35 Then Jesus
said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you.
Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you:
for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
43-13:12 So after he
had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he
said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
43-13:15 For I have
given you an example, that ye should do as I
have done to you.
43-13:16 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The servant is not
greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
43-13:18 I speak
not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but
that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted
up his heel against me.
43-13:19 Now I tell
you before it come, that, when it is come to
pass, ye may believe that I am he.
43-13:20 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth
whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that
sent me.
43-13:21 When Jesus
had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
43-13:33 Little
children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye
shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so
now I say to you.
43-13:34 A new
commandment I give unto you, That ye love one
another; as I have loved you, that ye also love
one another.
43-14:2 In my
Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
43-14:3 And if I
go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you unto myself; that where I
am, there ye may be also.
43-14:9 Jesus
saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you,
and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the
Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
43-14:10 Believest
thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak
unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father
that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
43-14:12 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me,
the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall
he do; because I go unto my Father.
43-14:16 And I will
pray the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
43-14:17 Even the
Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not,
neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
43-14:18 I will not
leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
43-14:20 At that
day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
43-14:25 These
things have I spoken unto you, being yet present
with you.
43-14:26 But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
43-14:27 Peace I
leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be
afraid.
43-14:28 Ye have
heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again
unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice,
because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
43-14:29 And now I
have told you before it come to pass, that, when
it is come to pass, ye might believe.
43-14:30 Hereafter
I will not talk much with you: for the prince of
this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
43-15:3 Now ye
are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
43-15:4 Abide in
me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear
fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide
in me.
43-15:7 If ye
abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall
ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
43-15:9 As the
Father hath loved me, so have I loved you:
continue ye in my love.
43-15:11 These
things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might
remain in you, and that your joy might be
full.
43-15:12 This is my
commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
43-15:14 Ye are my
friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
43-15:15 Henceforth
I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth
not what his lord doeth: but I have called you
friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
43-15:16 Ye have
not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and
ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth
fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask
of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
43-15:17 These
things I command you, that ye love one another.
43-15:18 If the
world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it
hated you.
43-15:19 If ye were
of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the
world, but I have chosen you out of the world,
therefore the world hateth you.
43-15:20 Remember
the word that I said unto you, The servant is
not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute
you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep
yours also.
43-15:21 But all
these things will they do unto you for my name’s
sake, because they know not him that sent me.
43-15:26 But when
the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you
from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the
Father, he shall testify of me:
43-16:1 These
things have I spoken unto you, that ye should
not be offended.
43-16:2 They
shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the
time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will
think that he doeth God service.
43-16:3 And these
things will they do unto you, because they have
not known the Father, nor me.
43-16:4 But these
things have I told you, that when the time shall
come, ye may remember that I told you of them.
And these things I said not unto you at the
beginning, because I was with you.
43-16:5 But now I
go my way to him that sent me; and none of you
asketh me, Whither goest thou?
43-16:6 But because
I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath
filled your heart.
43-16:7 Nevertheless
I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the
Comforter will not come unto you; but if I
depart, I will send him unto you.
43-16:12 I have yet
many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear
them now.
43-16:13 Howbeit
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall
hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you
things to come.
43-16:14 He shall
glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
43-16:15 All things
that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine,
and shall shew it unto you.
43-16:20 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and
lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow
shall be turned into joy.
43-16:22 And ye now
therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again,
and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
43-16:23 And in
that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he
will give it you.
43-16:25 These
things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but
the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you
in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the
Father.
43-16:26 At that
day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you,
that I will pray the Father for you:
43-16:27 For the
Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved
me, and have believed that I came out from God.
43-16:33 These
things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye
might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world.
43-18:8 Jesus
answered, I have told you that I am he: if
therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
43-18:39 But ye
have a custom, that I should release unto you
one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
43-19:4 Pilate
therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
43-20:19 Then the
same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were
shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and
stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
43-20:21 Then said
Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you:
as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
43-20:26 And after
eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came
Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto
you.
44-1:7 And he
said unto them, It is not for you to know the
times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
44-1:8 But ye
shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of
the earth.
44-1:11 Which
also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same
Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven,
shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
44-2:14 But
Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye
men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
44-2:22 Ye men of
Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did
by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves
also know:
44-2:29 Men and
brethren, let me freely speak unto you of
the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with
us unto this day.
44-2:38 Then
Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
44-2:39 For the
promise is unto you, and to your children, and
to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
44-3:14 But ye
denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
44-3:16 And his
name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know:
yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the
presence of you all.
44-3:20 And he
shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
44-3:22 For Moses
truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear
in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
44-3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent
him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
44-4:10 Be it
known unto you all, and to all the people of
Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom
God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
44-4:11 This is
the stone which was set at nought of you
builders, which is become the head of the corner.
44-4:19 But Peter
and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God
to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge
ye.
44-5:28 Saying, Did
not we straitly command you that ye should not
teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine,
and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
44-5:38 And now I
say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let
them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
44-6:3 Wherefore,
brethren, look ye out among you seven men of
honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this
business.
44-7:37 This is
that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord
your God raise up unto you of your brethren,
like unto me; him shall ye hear.
44-7:43 Yea, ye
took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures
which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you
away beyond Babylon.
44-10:29 Therefore
came I unto you without gainsaying, as
soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
44-13:26 Men and
brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you
is the word of this salvation sent.
44-13:32 And we
declare unto you glad tidings, how that the
promise which was made unto the fathers,
44-13:34 And as
concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to
corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you
the sure mercies of David.
44-13:38 Be it
known unto you therefore, men and brethren,
that through this man is preached unto you the
forgiveness of sins:
44-13:40 Beware therefore,
lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in
the prophets;
44-13:41 Behold, ye
despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which
ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
44-13:46 Then Paul and
Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should
first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put
it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
44-14:15 And
saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you
that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven,
and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
44-15:24 Forasmuch
as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye
must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
44-15:25 It seemed
good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
44-15:27 We have
sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you
the same things by mouth.
44-15:28 For it
seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you
no greater burden than these necessary things;
44-16:36 And the
keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let
you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
44-17:3 Opening
and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the
dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you,
is Christ.
44-17:23 For as I
passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription,
TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
44-18:14 And when
Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it
were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that
I should bear with you:
44-18:21 But bade
them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in
Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if
God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
44-19:13 Then
certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which
had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
44-20:18 And when
they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I
came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you
at all seasons,
44-20:20 And how
I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you,
but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
44-20:26 Wherefore
I take you to record this day, that I am pure
from the blood of all men.
44-20:27 For I have
not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel
of God.
44-20:28 Take heed
therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost
hath made you overseers, to feed the church of
God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
44-20:29 For I know
this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
44-20:32 And now,
brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word
of his grace, which is able to build you up, and
to give you an inheritance among all them which
are sanctified.
44-20:35 I have
shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye
ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he
said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
44-22:1 Men,
brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.
44-22:25 And as
they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it
lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman,
and uncondemned?
44-23:15 Now
therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him
down unto you to morrow, as though ye would
enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near,
are ready to kill him.
44-24:21 Except it
be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the
resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you
this day.
44-25:5 Let them
therefore, said he, which among you are able, go
down with me, and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him.
44-25:26 Of whom I
have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth
before you, and specially before thee, O king
Agrippa, that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.
44-26:8 Why should
it be thought a thing incredible with you, that
God should raise the dead?
44-27:22 And now I
exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall
be no loss of any man’s life among you,
but of the ship.
44-27:34 Wherefore
I pray you to take some meat: for this is
for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
44-28:20 For this
cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you:
because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
44-28:28 Be it
known therefore unto you, that the salvation of
God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
45-1:7 To all that
be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus
Christ.
45-1:8 First, I
thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all,
that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
45-1:9 For God
is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that
without ceasing I make mention of you always in
my prayers;
45-1:10 Making
request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the
will of God to come unto you.
45-1:11 For I
long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be
established;
45-1:12 That is,
that I may be comforted together with you by the
mutual faith both of you and me.
45-1:13 Now I
would not have you ignorant, brethren, that
oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was
let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you
also, even as among other Gentiles.
45-1:15 So, as
much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you
that are at Rome also.
45-2:24 For the
name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you,
as it is written.
45-6:14 For sin shall
not have dominion over you: for ye are not under
the law, but under grace.
45-6:17 But God
be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart
that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
45-8:9 But ye
are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell
in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of
Christ, he is none of his.
45-8:10 And if
Christ be in you, the body is dead
because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
45-8:11 But if
the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
45-10:19 But I say,
Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you
to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I
will anger you.
45-11:13 For I
speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the
apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
45-12:1 I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which
is your reasonable service.
