01-GENESIS
01-2:19 And out
of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the
air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would
call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the
name thereof.
01-21:7 And she
said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that
Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his
old age.
01-30:34 And Laban
said, Behold, I would it might be according to
thy word.
01-42:21 And they
said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in
that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon
us.
01-42:22 And Reuben
answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the
child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold,
also his blood is required.
01-43:7 And they
said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is
your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him
according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
01-44:22 And we
said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should
leave his father, his father would die.
02-2:4 And his
sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done
to him.
02-8:32 And
Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would
he let the people go.
02-9:35 And the
heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he
let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
02-10:20 But the
LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would
not let the children of Israel go.
02-10:27 But the
LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not
let them go.
02-11:10 And Moses
and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s
heart, so that he would not let the children of
Israel go out of his land.
02-13:15 And it
came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us
go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the
firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD
all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children
I redeem.
02-16:3 And the
children of Israel said unto them, Would to God
we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the
flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought
us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
04-11:29 And Moses
said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would
God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
04-14:2 And all
the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole
congregation said unto them, Would God that we
had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we
had died in this wilderness!
04-20:3 And the
people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would
God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!
04-21:23 And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border:
but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into
the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
04-22:18 And Balaam
answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would
give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the
LORD my God, to do less or more.
04-22:29 And Balaam
said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would
there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I
kill thee.
04-24:13 If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I
cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad
of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
05-1:26 Notwithstanding
ye would not go up, but rebelled against the
commandment of the LORD your God:
05-1:43 So I
spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but
rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into
the hill.
05-1:45 And ye
returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would
not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you.
05-2:30 But Sihon
king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him:
for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he
might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day.
05-3:26 But the
LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would
not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto
me of this matter.
05-5:29 O that
there were such an heart in them, that they would
fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them,
and with their children for ever!
05-7:8 But
because the LORD loved you, and because he would
keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you
out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the
hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
05-8:20 As the
nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because
ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the
LORD your God.
05-9:25 Thus I
fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the
first; because the LORD had said he would
destroy you.
05-10:10 And I
stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights;
and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.
05-23:5 Nevertheless
the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam;
but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the
LORD thy God loved thee.
05-23:21 When thou
shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the
LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would
be sin in thee.
05-28:56 The tender
and delicate woman among you, which would not
adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and
tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward
her son, and toward her daughter,
05-28:67 In the
morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even!
and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were
morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the
sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
05-32:26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among
men:
05-32:29 O that
they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
06-5:6 For the
children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that
were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they
obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware
unto their fathers that he would give us, a land
that floweth with milk and honey.
06-7:7 And
Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people
over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the
other side Jordan!
06-17:12 Yet the
children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those
cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that
land.
06-24:10 But I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed
you still: so I delivered you out of his hand.
07-1:27 Neither
did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Bethshean and her towns, nor
Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the
inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her
towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that
land.
07-1:34 And the
Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountain: for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley:
07-1:35 But the
Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon,
and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they
became tributaries.
07-2:17 And yet
they would not hearken unto their judges, but
they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they
turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the
commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.
07-3:4 And they
were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would
hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by
the hand of Moses.
07-8:19 And he
said, They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the
LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I would
not slay you.
07-8:24 And
Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request
of you, that ye would give me every man the
earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)
07-9:29 And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech,
Increase thine army, and come out.
07-11:17 Then
Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass
through thy land: but the king of Edom would not
hearken thereto. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but
he would not consent: and Israel abode in
Kadesh.
07-13:23 But his
wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat
offering at our hands, neither would he have
shewed us all these things, nor would as
at this time have told us such things as these.
07-14:6 And the
spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in
his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
07-15:1 But it
came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson
visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the
chamber. But her father would not suffer him to
go in.
07-19:10 But the
man would not tarry that night, but he rose up
and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there
were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.
07-19:25 But the
men would not hearken to him: so the man took
his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused
her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let
her go.
07-20:13 Now
therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in
Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the
children of Benjamin would not hearken to the
voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
08-1:13 Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my
daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is
gone out against me.
09-2:16 And if
any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then
take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would
answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I
will take it by force.
09-2:25 If one
man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against
the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto
the voice of their father, because the LORD would
slay them.
09-13:13 And Samuel
said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of
the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would
the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
09-15:9 But Saul
and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of
the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that
was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
09-18:2 And Saul
took him that day, and would let him go no more
home to his father’s house.
09-20:9 And
Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were
determined by my father to come upon thee, then would
not I tell it thee?
09-22:17 And the
king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of
the LORD; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew
when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the
priests of the LORD.
09-22:22 And David
said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there,
that he would surely tell Saul: I have
occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father’s house.
09-26:23 The LORD render
to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD delivered
thee into my hand to day, but I would not
stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed.
09-31:4 Then said
Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith;
lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his
armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid.
Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
10-2:21 And Abner
said to him, Turn thee aside to thy right hand or to thy left, and lay thee
hold on one of the young men, and take thee his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.
10-4:6 And they
came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the
fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
10-4:10 When one
told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I
took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:
10-6:10 So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the
city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the
Gittite.
10-11:20 And if so
be that the king’s wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye
so nigh unto the city when ye did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?
10-12:8 And I
gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave
thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little,
I would moreover have given unto thee such and
such things.
10-12:17 And the
elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the
earth: but he would not, neither did he eat
bread with them.
10-12:18 And it
came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David
feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the
child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would
not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that
the child is dead?
10-13:14 Howbeit he
would not hearken unto her voice: but, being
stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.
10-13:16 And she
said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater
than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would
not hearken unto her.
10-13:25 And the
king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable
unto thee. And he pressed him: howbeit he would
not go, but blessed him.
10-14:16 For the
king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the
inheritance of God.
10-14:29 Therefore Absalom
sent for Joab, to have sent him to the king; but he would
not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.
10-15:4 Absalom
said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath
any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would
do him justice!
10-18:11 And Joab
said unto the man that told him, And, behold, thou sawest him, and why
didst thou not smite him there to the ground? And I would
have given thee ten shekels of silver, and a girdle.
10-18:12 And the
man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver
in mine hand, yet would I not put forth
mine hand against the king’s son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and
Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.
10-18:33 And the
king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as
he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my
son!
10-23:15 And David
longed, and said, Oh that one would give me
drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
10-23:16 And the
three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out
of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and
brought it to David: nevertheless he would
not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
10-23:17 And he
said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the
blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three
mighty men.
11-8:12 Then
spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell
in the thick darkness.
11-13:33 After this
thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of
the people priests of the high places: whosoever would,
he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.
11-18:32 And with
the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench
about the altar, as great as would contain two
measures of seed.
11-20:33 Now the
men did diligently observe whether any thing would
come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother
Benhadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and
he caused him to come up into the chariot.
11-21:4 And Ahab
came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the
Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the
inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away
his face, and would eat no bread.
11-22:18 And the
king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
11-22:49 Then said
Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants
in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
12-2:1 And it
came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah
into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
12-3:14 And
Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely,
were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
12-5:3 And she
said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were
with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would
recover him of his leprosy.
12-7:2 Then a
lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if
the LORD would make windows in heaven, might
this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes,
but shalt not eat thereof.
12-8:19 Yet the
LORD would not destroy Judah for David his
servant’s sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his
children.
12-13:23 And the
LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto
them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his
presence as yet.
12-14:11 But Amaziah
would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel
went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at
Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
12-14:27 And the
LORD said not that he would blot out the name of
Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of
Joash.
12-17:14 Notwithstanding
they would not hear, but hardened their necks,
like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
12-18:12 Because they
obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and
all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.
12-24:4 And also for
the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood;
which the LORD would not pardon.
13-10:4 Then said
Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest
these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a
sword, and fell upon it.
13-11:17 And David
longed, and said, Oh that one would give me
drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!
13-11:18 And the
three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well
of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it
to David: but David would not drink of it,
but poured it out to the LORD,
13-11:19 And said,
My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of
these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their
lives they brought it. Therefore he would not
drink it. These things did these three mightiest.
13-13:4 And all
the congregation said that they would do so: for
the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
13-19:19 And when
the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel,
they made peace with David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of Ammon any more.
13-27:23 But David
took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the LORD
had said he would increase Israel like to the
stars of the heavens.
14-6:1 Then
said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would
dwell in the thick darkness.
14-10:16 And when
all Israel saw that the king would not
hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we
in David? and we have none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to
your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all
Israel went to their tents.
14-12:12 And when
he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah
things went well.
14-15:13 That
whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel
should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
14-18:17 And the
king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?
14-21:7 Howbeit
the LORD would not destroy the house of David,
because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give
a light to him and to his sons for ever.
14-24:19 Yet he
sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified
against them: but they would not give ear.
14-25:20 But
Amaziah would not hear; for it came of
God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because
they sought after the gods of Edom.
14-33:10 And the
LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would
not hearken.
14-35:22 Nevertheless
Josiah would not turn his face from him, but
disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the
words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of
Megiddo.
15-10:8 And that
whosoever would not come within three days,
according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance
should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that
had been carried away.
15-10:19 And they
gave their hands that they would put away their
wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for
their trespass.
16-6:11 And I
said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as
I am, would go into the temple to save
his life? I will not go in.
16-6:14 My God,
think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the
prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would
have put me in fear.
16-9:24 So the
children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the
inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with
their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.
16-9:29 And
testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet
they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against
thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the
shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not
hear.
16-9:30 Yet many
years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in
thy prophets: yet would they not give ear:
therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.
16-10:30 And that
we would not give our daughters unto the people
of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons:
16-10:31 And if the
people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that
we would not buy it of them on the sabbath,
or on the holy day: and that we would
leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.
17-3:4 Now it came
to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that
they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would
stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.
17-6:6 So Haman
came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the
king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to
myself?
17-8:11 Wherein
the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves
together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to
perish, all the power of the people and province that would
assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil
of them for a prey,
17-9:5 Thus the
Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and
destruction, and did what they would unto those
that hated them.
17-9:27 The Jews
ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined
themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing,
and according to their appointed time every year;
18-5:8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
18-6:3 For now
it would be heavier than the sand of the sea:
therefore my words are swallowed up.
18-6:8 Oh that
I might have my request; and that God would
grant me the thing that I long for!
18-6:9 Even
that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
18-6:10 Then
should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden
myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the
Holy One.
18-7:16 I loathe it;
I would not live alway: let me alone; for my
days are vanity.
18-8:6 If thou wert
pure and upright; surely now he would awake
for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
18-9:15 Whom,
though I were righteous, yet would I not
answer, but I would make supplication to
my judge.
18-9:16 If I had
called, and he had answered me; yet would
I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.
18-9:21 Though
I were perfect, yet would I
not know my soul: I would despise my life.
18-9:35 Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not
so with me.
18-11:5 But oh
that God would speak, and open his lips against
thee;
18-11:6 And that
he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they
are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less
than thine iniquity deserveth.
18-11:12 For vain
man would be wise, though man be born like a
wild ass’s colt.
18-13:3 Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason
with God.
18-13:5 O that ye
would altogether hold your peace! and it should
be your wisdom.
18-16:5 But I
would strengthen you with my mouth, and the
moving of my lips should asswage your grief.
18-23:4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my
mouth with arguments.
18-23:5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
18-23:6 Will he plead
against me with his great power? No; but he would
put strength in me.
18-27:22 For God
shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would
fain flee out of his hand.
18-30:1 But now they
that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my
flock.
18-31:12 For it is
a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would
root out all mine increase.
18-31:35 Oh that
one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that
the Almighty would answer me, and that mine
adversary had written a book.
18-31:36 Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as
a crown to me.
18-31:37 I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a
prince would I go near unto him.
18-32:22 For I know
not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
18-34:27 Because
they turned back from him, and would not
consider any of his ways:
18-36:16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a
broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set
on thy table should be full of fatness.
18-41:32 He maketh
a path to shine after him; one would
think the deep to be hoary.
19-22:8 He
trusted on the LORD that he would deliver
him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
19-35:25 Let them
not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have
it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
19-40:5 Many, O
LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and
thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order
unto thee: if I would declare and speak of
them, they are more than can be numbered.
19-50:12 If I were
hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is
mine, and the fulness thereof.
19-51:16 For thou
desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it:
thou delightest not in burnt offering.
19-55:6 And I
said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would
I fly away, and be at rest.
19-55:7 Lo, then
would I wander far off, and remain in
the wilderness. Selah.
19-55:8 I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.
19-55:12 For it
was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither
was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against
me; then I would have hid myself from him:
19-56:1 Be
merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow
me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
19-56:2 Mine
enemies would daily swallow me up: for they
be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
19-57:3 He shall
send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his
mercy and his truth.
19-69:4 They that
hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies
wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
19-81:11 But my
people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel
would none of me.
19-106:23 Therefore
he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses
his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he
should destroy them.
19-107:8 Oh that men
would praise the LORD for his
goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
19-107:15 Oh that men
would praise the LORD for his
goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
19-107:21 Oh that men
would praise the LORD for his
goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
19-107:31 Oh that men
would praise the LORD for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
19-119:57 CHETH.
Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would
keep thy words.
19-142:4 I looked
on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my
soul.
20-1:25 But ye
have set at nought all my counsel, and would
none of my reproof:
20-1:30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my
reproof.
22-3:4 It
was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul
loveth: I held him, and would not let him go,
until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her
that conceived me.
22-8:1 O that
thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I
should find thee without, I would kiss thee;
yea, I should not be despised.
22-8:2 I would lead thee, and bring thee into my
mother’s house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice
of my pomegranate.
22-8:7 Many
waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it
would utterly be contemned.
23-27:4 Fury is
not in me: who would set the briers and thorns
against me in battle? I would go through them, I
would burn them together.
23-28:12 To whom he
said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest;
and this is the refreshing: yet they would
not hear.
23-30:15 For thus
saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be
saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
23-42:24 Who gave
Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom
we have sinned? for they would not walk in his
ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
23-54:9 For this is
as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters
of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
24-8:18 When I
would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is
faint in me.
24-10:7 Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee
doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations,
and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
24-13:11 For as the
girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the
whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they
might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a
glory: but they would not hear.
24-18:10 If it do
evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good,
wherewith I said I would benefit them.
24-22:24 As I
live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the
signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck
thee thence;
24-29:19 Because
they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by
my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.
24-36:25 Nevertheless
Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
24-38:26 Then thou
shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to
die there.
24-49:9 If
grapegatherers come to thee, would they not
leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till
they have enough.
24-51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed:
forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment
reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
25-4:12 The kings
of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would
not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the
gates of Jerusalem.
26-3:6 Not to
many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst
not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would
have hearkened unto thee.
26-6:10 And they
shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in vain
that I would do this evil unto them.
26-13:6 They have
seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not
sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
26-20:8 But they
rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto
me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither
did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon
them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
26-20:13 But the
house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my
statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall
even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to
consume them.
26-20:15 Yet also I
lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would
not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk
and honey, which is the glory of all lands;
26-20:21 Notwithstanding
the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept
my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them;
they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would
pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the
wilderness.
26-20:23 I lifted
up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would
scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;
26-38:17 Thus saith
the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my
servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years
that I would bring thee against them?
27-1:8 But
Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not
defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he
drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not
defile himself.
27-2:8 The king
answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would
gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
27-2:16 Then
Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would
give him time, and that he would shew the king
the interpretation.
27-2:18 That they
would desire mercies of the God of heaven
concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the
rest of the wise men of Babylon.
27-5:19 And for
the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and
feared before him: whom he would he slew; and
whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would
he put down.
27-7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was
diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron,
and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and
stamped the residue with his feet;
27-9:2 In the
first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years,
whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of
Jerusalem.
28-7:1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim
was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and
the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.
28-11:7 And my
people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most
High, none at all would exalt him.
31-1:5 If
thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if
the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not
leave some grapes?
32-3:10 And God
saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the
evil, that he had said that he would do unto
them; and he did it not.
32-4:5 So Jonah
went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him
a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.
38-7:13 Therefore
it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would
not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear,
saith the LORD of hosts:
39-1:10 Who is
there even among you that would shut the
doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for
nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I
accept an offering at your hand.
40-2:18 In Rama
was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel
weeping for her children, and would not
be comforted, because they are not.
40-5:42 Give to
him that asketh thee, and from him that would
borrow of thee turn not thou away.
40-7:12 Therefore
all things whatsoever ye would that men should
do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
40-8:34 And,
behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought
him that he would depart out of their
coasts.
40-11:21 Woe unto
thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were
done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would
have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
40-11:23 And thou,
Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if
the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
40-12:7 But if ye
had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
40-12:38 Then
certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
40-14:5 And when
he would have put him to death, he feared the
multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
40-14:7 Whereupon
he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would
ask.
40-16:1 The
Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
40-18:23 Therefore
is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
40-18:30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he
should pay the debt.
40-22:3 And sent
forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
40-23:30 And say,
If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would
not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
40-23:37 O
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them
which are sent unto thee, how often would I have
gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her
wings, and ye would not!
40-24:43 But know
this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would
have watched, and would not have suffered his
house to be broken up.
40-27:15 Now at that
feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom
they would.
40-27:34 They gave
him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he
would not drink.
41-3:2 And they
watched him, whether he would heal him on the
sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
41-3:13 And he
goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
41-5:10 And he
besought him much that he would not send them
away out of the country.
41-6:19 Therefore
Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would
have killed him; but she could not:
41-6:26 And the
king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes
which sat with him, he would not reject her.
41-6:48 And he
saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the
fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
41-7:24 And from
thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into
an house, and would have no man know it: but
he could not be hid.
41-7:26 The woman
was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
41-9:30 And they
departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would
not that any man should know it.
41-10:35 And James
and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we
shall desire.
41-10:36 And he
said unto them, What would ye that I should do
for you?
41-11:16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel
through the temple.
42-1:62 And they
made signs to his father, how he would have him
called.
42-1:74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of
the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
42-5:3 And he
entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat
down, and taught the people out of the ship.
42-6:7 And the
scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would
heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
42-6:31 And as ye
would that men should do to you, do ye also to
them likewise.
42-7:3 And when
he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that
he would come and heal his servant.
42-7:36 And one
of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat
with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
42-7:39 Now when
the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself,
saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would
have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for
she is a sinner.
42-8:31 And they
besought him that he would not command them to
go out into the deep.
42-8:32 And there
was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him
that he would suffer them to enter into them.
And he suffered them.
42-8:41 And,
behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and
he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would
come into his house:
42-9:53 And they
did not receive him, because his face was as though he would
go to Jerusalem.
42-10:1 After
these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two
before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
42-10:2 Therefore
said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few:
pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would
send forth labourers into his harvest.
42-12:39 And this
know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would
have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
42-13:34 O
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are
sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered
thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings,
and ye would not!
42-15:16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that
the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
42-15:28 And he was
angry, and would not go in: therefore came his
father out, and intreated him.
42-16:26 And beside
all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they
pass to us, that would come from thence.
42-18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within
himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
42-18:13 And the
publican, standing afar off, would not lift up
so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God
be merciful to me a sinner.
42-18:15 And they
brought unto him also infants, that he would
touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
42-19:27 But those
mine enemies, which would not that I should
reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
42-19:40 And he
answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace,
the stones would immediately cry out.
42-22:49 When they
which were about him saw what would follow, they
said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
42-24:28 And they
drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
43-1:43 The day
following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and
findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
43-4:10 Jesus
answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that
saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
43-4:40 So when
the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
43-4:47 When he
heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and
besought him that he would come down, and heal
his son: for he was at the point of death.
43-5:46 For had
ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me:
for he wrote of me.
43-6:6 And this
he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would
do.
43-6:11 And Jesus
took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples,
and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as
much as they would.
43-6:15 When
Jesus therefore perceived that they would come
and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain
himself alone.
43-7:1 After
these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would
not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
43-7:44 And some
of them would have taken him; but no man laid
hands on him.
43-8:39 They
answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye
were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works
of Abraham.
43-8:42 Jesus
said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would
love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but
he sent me.
43-9:27 He
answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his
disciples?
43-12:21 The same
came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him,
saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
43-14:2 In my
Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
43-14:28 Ye have
heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye
loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go
unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
43-15:19 If ye were
of the world, the world would love his own: but
because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world,
therefore the world hateth you.
43-18:30 They
answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
43-18:36 Jesus
answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world,
then would my servants fight, that I should not
be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
44-2:30 Therefore
being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of
the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would
raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
44-5:24 Now when
the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these
things, they doubted of them whereunto this would
grow.
44-7:5 And he
gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on:
yet he promised that he would give it to him for
a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.
44-7:25 For he
supposed his brethren would have understood how
that God by his hand would deliver them: but
they understood not.
44-7:26 And the
next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are
brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?
44-7:39 To whom our
fathers would not obey, but thrust him from
them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
44-8:31 And he
said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he
would come up and sit with him.
44-9:38 And
forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter
was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
44-10:10 And he
became very hungry, and would have eaten: but
while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
44-11:23 Who, when
he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that
with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the
Lord.
44-12:6 And when
Herod would have brought him forth, the same
night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the
keepers before the door kept the prison.
44-14:13 Then the
priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto
the gates, and would have done sacrifice with
the people.
44-16:3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and
circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew
all that his father was a Greek.
44-16:27 And the
keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors
open, he drew out his sword, and would have
killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
44-17:20 For thou
bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would
know therefore what these things mean.
44-18:14 And when
Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it
were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
44-19:30 And when
Paul would have entered in unto the people, the
disciples suffered him not.
44-19:31 And
certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him
that he would not adventure himself into the
theatre.
44-19:33 And they
drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And
Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have
made his defence unto the people.
44-20:16 For Paul
had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would
not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be
at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
44-21:14 And when
he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying,
The will of the Lord be done.
44-22:30 On the
morrow, because he would have known the
certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands,
and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought
Paul down, and set him before them.
44-23:12 And when
it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a
curse, saying that they would neither eat nor
drink till they had killed Paul.
44-23:15 Now
therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him
down unto you to morrow, as though ye would
enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near,
are ready to kill him.
44-23:20 And he
said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to
morrow into the council, as though they would
enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
44-23:28 And when I
would have known the cause wherefore they
accused him, I brought him forth into their council:
44-24:6 Who also
hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.
44-25:3 And
desired favour against him, that he would send
for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.
44-25:4 But
Festus answered, that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself would depart shortly thither.
44-25:20 And
because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these
matters.
44-25:22 Then
Agrippa said unto Festus, I would also hear the
man myself. To morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him.
44-26:5 Which
knew me from the beginning, if they would
testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
44-26:29 And Paul
said, I would to God, that not only thou, but
also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am,
except these bonds.
44-27:30 And as the
shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat
into the sea, under colour as though they would
have cast anchors out of the foreship,
44-28:18 Who, when
they had examined me, would have let me go,
because there was no cause of death in me.
45-1:13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes
I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some
fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
45-5:7 For scarcely
for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
45-7:15 For that
which I do I allow not: for what I would, that
do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
45-7:16 If then I
do that which I would not, I consent unto the
law that it is good.
45-7:19 For the
good that I would I do not: but the evil which I
would not, that I do.
45-7:20 Now if I
do that I would not, it is no more I that do it,
but sin that dwelleth in me.
45-7:21 I find
then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is
present with me.
45-11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of
this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in
part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
45-16:19 For your
obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your
behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that
which is good, and simple concerning evil.
46-2:8 Which
none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
46-4:8 Now ye
are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign
with you.
46-4:18 Now some are
puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
46-7:7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every
man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
46-7:32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is
unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the
Lord:
46-10:1 Moreover,
brethren, I would not that ye should be
ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through
the sea;
46-10:20 But I say,
that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and
not to God: and I would not that ye should have
fellowship with devils.
46-11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is
Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is
God.
46-11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
46-12:1 Now
concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would
not have you ignorant.
46-14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that
ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh
with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
47-1:8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which
came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength,
insomuch that we despaired even of life:
47-2:1 But I
determined this with myself, that I would not
come again to you in heaviness.
47-2:8 Wherefore
I beseech you that ye would confirm your love
toward him.
47-5:4 For we
that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality
might be swallowed up of life.
47-8:4 Praying
us with much intreaty that we would receive the
gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
47-8:6 Insomuch
that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would
also finish in you the same grace also.
47-9:5 Therefore
I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up before hand your
bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a
matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
47-10:9 That I
may not seem as if I would terrify you by
letters.
47-11:1 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly:
and indeed bear with me.
47-12:6 For
though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a
fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think
of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of
me.
47-12:20 For I
fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings,
wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
48-1:7 Which is
not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would
pervert the gospel of Christ.
48-2:10 Only they
would that we should remember the poor; the
same which I also was forward to do.
48-3:2 This
only would I learn of you, Received ye the
Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
48-3:8 And the
scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the
heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In
thee shall all nations be blessed.
48-4:15 Where is
then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had
been possible, ye would have plucked out
your own eyes, and have given them to me.
48-4:17 They
zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would
exclude you, that ye might affect them.
48-5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
48-5:17 For the
flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are
contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
49-3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,
to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
50-1:12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which
happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
51-1:27 To whom
God would make known what is the riches
of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the
hope of glory:
51-2:1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you,
and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my
face in the flesh;
51-4:3 Withal
praying also for us, that God would open unto us
a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in
bonds:
52-2:9 For ye
remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day,
because we would not be chargeable unto any of you,
we preached unto you the gospel of God.
52-2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his
kingdom and glory.
52-2:18 Wherefore
we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once
and again; but Satan hindered us.
52-4:1 Furthermore
then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as
ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
52-4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren,
concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have
no hope.
53-1:11 Wherefore
also we pray always for you, that our God would
count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his
goodness, and the work of faith with power:
53-3:10 For even
when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
57-1:13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he
might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
57-1:14 But
without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy
benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
58-4:8 For if
Jesus had given them rest, then would he not
afterward have spoken of another day.
58-10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that
the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
58-11:32 And what
shall I more say? for the time would fail me to
tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae;
of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
58-12:17 For ye
know how that afterward, when he would have
inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance,
though he sought it carefully with tears.
62-2:19 They went
out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they
went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
63-1:12 Having
many things to write unto you, I would not write
with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face,
that our joy may be full.
64-1:10 Wherefore,
if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with
malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the
brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and
casteth them out of the church.
66-3:15 I know
thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would
thou wert cold or hot.
66-13:15 And he had
power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast
should both speak, and cause that as many as would
not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
