01-GENESIS
01-4:19 And
Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the
one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
01-4:23 And
Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah,
Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto
my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
01-6:2 That the
sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took
them wives of all which they chose.
01-6:18 But with
thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and
thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
01-7:7 And Noah
went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his
sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of
the waters of the flood.
01-7:13 In the
selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah,
and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
01-8:16 Go forth
of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy
sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
01-8:18 And Noah
went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and
his sons’ wives with him:
01-11:29 And Abram
and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of
Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
01-28:9 Then went
Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which
he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebajoth,
to be his wife.
01-30:26 Give me
my wives and my children, for whom I have
served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.
01-31:17 Then Jacob
rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon
camels;
01-31:50 If thou shalt
afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us;
see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.
01-32:22 And he
rose up that night, and took his two wives, and
his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
01-34:21 These men are
peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein;
for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their
daughters to us for wives, and let us give them
our daughters.
01-34:29 And all
their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives
took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.
01-36:2 Esau took
his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the
daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter
of Zibeon the Hivite;
01-36:6 And Esau
took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters,
and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all
his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the
country from the face of his brother Jacob.
01-37:2 These are
the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was
feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of
Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives:
and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.
01-45:19 Now thou
art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your
little ones, and for your wives, and bring your
father, and come.
01-46:5 And Jacob
rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and
their little ones, and their wives, in the
wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
01-46:26 All the
souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s
sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore
and six;
02-19:15 And he
said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.
02-22:24 And my
wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
02-32:2 And Aaron
said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of
your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters,
and bring them unto me.
04-14:3 And
wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that
our wives and our children should be a prey?
were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
04-16:27 So they
gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and
Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
04-32:26 Our little
ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle,
shall be there in the cities of Gilead:
05-3:19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I
know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given
you;
05-17:17 Neither
shall he multiply wives to himself, that his
heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and
gold.
05-21:15 If a man
have two wives, one beloved, and another hated,
and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if
the firstborn son be hers that was hated:
05-29:11 Your
little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is
in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:
06-1:14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain
in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before
your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
07-3:6 And they
took their daughters to be their wives, and gave
their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.
07-8:30 And
Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives.
07-21:7 How shall
we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we
have sworn by the LORD that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?
07-21:14 And
Benjamin came again at that time; and they gave them wives
which they had saved alive of the women of Jabeshgilead: and yet so they
sufficed them not.
07-21:16 Then the
elders of the congregation said, How shall we do for wives
for them that remain, seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?
07-21:18 Howbeit we
may not give them wives of our daughters: for
the children of Israel have sworn, saying, Cursed be he that giveth a wife to Benjamin.
07-21:23 And the
children of Benjamin did so, and took them wives,
according to their number, of them that danced, whom they caught: and they went
and returned unto their inheritance, and repaired the cities, and dwelt in
them.
08-1:4 And they
took them wives of the women of Moab; the name
of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled
there about ten years.
09-1:2 And he
had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah,
and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had
no children.
09-25:43 David also
took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they were also both of them his wives.
09-27:3 And David
dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even
David with his two wives, Ahinoam the
Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife.
09-30:3 So David
and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and
their wives, and their sons, and their
daughters, were taken captives.
09-30:5 And
David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam
the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of
Nabal the Carmelite.
09-30:18 And David
recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
10-2:2 So David
went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam
the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal’s wife
the Carmelite.
10-5:13 And David
took him more concubines and wives out of
Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters
born to David.
10-12:8 And I gave
thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives
into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that
had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such
things.
10-12:11 Thus saith
the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and
I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and
give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
10-19:5 And Joab
came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces
of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy
sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives,
and the lives of thy concubines;
11-11:3 And he
had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three
hundred concubines: and his wives turned away
his heart.
11-11:4 For it
came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives
turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the
LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
11-11:8 And
likewise did he for all his strange wives, which
burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
11-20:3 Thy
silver and thy gold is mine; thy wives
also and thy children, even the goodliest, are mine.
11-20:5 And the messengers
came again, and said, Thus speaketh Benhadad, saying, Although I have sent unto
thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
11-20:7 Then the
king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you,
and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for
my gold; and I denied him not.
12-4:1 Now
there cried a certain woman of the wives of the
sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and
thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to
take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
12-24:15 And he
carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king’s mother, and the king’s wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those
carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
13-4:5 And
Ashur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah
and Naarah.
13-7:4 And with
them, by their generations, after the house of their fathers, were bands
of soldiers for war, six and thirty thousand men: for they had many wives and sons.
13-8:8 And
Shaharaim begat children in the country of Moab, after he had sent them
away; Hushim and Baara were his wives.
13-14:3 And David
took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat
more sons and daughters.
14-11:21 And
Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and
eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
14-11:23 And he
dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of
Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in
abundance. And he desired many wives.
14-13:21 But Abijah
waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and
begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
14-20:13 And all
Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
14-21:14 Behold,
with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
14-21:17 And they
came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that
was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save
Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
14-24:3 And
Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat
sons and daughters.
14-29:9 For, lo,
our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.
14-31:18 And to the
genealogy of all their little ones, their wives,
and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their
set office they sanctified themselves in holiness:
15-10:2 And
Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said
unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope
in Israel concerning this thing.
15-10:3 Now
therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the
counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God;
and let it be done according to the law.
15-10:10 And Ezra
the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken
strange wives, to increase the trespass of
Israel.
15-10:11 Now
therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his
pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the
strange wives.
15-10:14 Let now
our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken
strange wives in our cities come at appointed
times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until
the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.
15-10:17 And they
made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives
by the first day of the first month.
15-10:18 And among
the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of
Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
15-10:19 And they
gave their hands that they would put away their wives;
and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their
trespass.
15-10:44 All these
had taken strange wives: and some of them
had wives by whom they had children.
16-4:14 And I looked,
and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of
the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great
and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
16-5:1 And
there was a great cry of the people and of their wives
against their brethren the Jews.
16-10:28 And the
rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the
Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the
lands unto the law of God, their wives, their
sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having
understanding;
16-12:43 Also that
day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice
with great joy: the wives also and the children
rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.
16-13:23 In those
days also saw I Jews that had married wives
of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:
16-13:27 Shall we then
hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in
marrying strange wives?
17-1:20 And when
the king’s decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his
empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall
give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.
23-13:16 Their
children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall
be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
24-6:12 And their
houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon
the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.
24-8:10 Therefore
will I give their wives unto others, and their
fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least
even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the
priest every one dealeth falsely.
24-14:16 And the
people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem
because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them,
them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their
daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
24-18:21 Therefore
deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the
force of the sword; and let their wives be
bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to
death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.
24-29:6 Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to
husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased
there, and not diminished.
24-29:23 Because
they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their
neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words
in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a
witness, saith the LORD.
24-35:8 Thus have
we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath
charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives,
our sons, nor our daughters;
24-38:23 So they
shall bring out all thy wives and thy children
to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be
taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be
burned with fire.
24-44:9 Have ye
forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of
Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and
your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives,
which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of
Jerusalem?
24-44:15 Then all
the men which knew that their wives had burned
incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even
all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah,
saying,
24-44:25 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled
with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to
burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her:
ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
26-44:22 Neither
shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her
that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of
Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.
27-5:2 Belshazzar,
whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels
which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in
Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives,
and his concubines, might drink therein.
27-5:3 Then
they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house
of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.
27-5:23 But hast
lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels
of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives,
and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of
silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor
know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all
thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
27-6:24 And the
king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they
cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and
brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
38-12:12 And the
land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart,
and their wives apart; the family of the house
of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
38-12:13 The family
of the house of Levi apart, and their wives
apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives
apart;
38-12:14 All the
families that remain, every family apart, and their wives
apart.
40-19:8 He saith
unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put
away your wives: but from the beginning it was
not so.
42-17:27 They did
eat, they drank, they married wives, they were
given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood
came, and destroyed them all.
44-21:5 And when
we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all
brought us on our way, with wives and children,
till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and
prayed.
46-7:29 But this
I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that
have wives be as though they had none;
49-5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as
unto the Lord.
49-5:24 Therefore
as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
49-5:25 Husbands,
love your wives, even as Christ also loved the
church, and gave himself for it;
49-5:28 So ought
men to love their wives as their own bodies. He
that loveth his wife loveth himself.
51-3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it
is fit in the Lord.
51-3:19 Husbands,
love your wives, and be not bitter
against them.
54-3:11 Even so must
their wives be grave, not slanderers,
sober, faithful in all things.
60-3:1 Likewise,
ye wives, be in subjection to your own
husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won
by the conversation of the wives;

54-1 TIMOTHY
54-4:7 But
refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and
exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

03-LEVITICUS
03-20:27 A man also
or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard,
shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall
be upon them.
05-DEUTERONOMY
05-18:11 Or a
charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard,
or a necromancer.
_______________________________________________________________________
03-LEVITICUS
03-19:31 Regard not
them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards,
to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
03-20:6 And the
soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set
my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
09-28:3 Now
Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even
in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the
wizards, out of the land.
09-28:9 And the
woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut
off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards,
out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to
die?
12-21:6 And he
made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments,
and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he
wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to
anger.
12-23:24 Moreover
the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards,
and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the
land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the
words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found
in the house of the LORD.
14-33:6 And he
caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of
Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and
dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards:
he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
23-8:19 And when
they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a
people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
23-19:3 And the
spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel
thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them
that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

sweet for bitter!

and prudent in their own sight!
23-5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine,
and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people
of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
23-10:1 Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and
that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
23-17:12 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make
a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make
a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
23-18:1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond
the rivers of Ethiopia:
23-24:16 From the
uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the
righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe
unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous
dealers have dealt very treacherously.
23-28:1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim,
whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head
of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
23-29:1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David
dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
23-29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel
from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and
who knoweth us?
23-30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that
take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my
spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
23-31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay
on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in
horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of
Israel, neither seek the LORD!
23-33:1 Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not
spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee!
when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou
shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with
thee.
23-45:9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the
potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to
him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
23-45:10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What
begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?
24-4:13 Behold,
he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind:
his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us!
for we are spoiled.
24-4:31 For I
have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her
that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that
bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because
of murderers.
24-6:4 Prepare
ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe
unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched
out.
24-10:19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I
said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
24-13:27 I have
seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine
abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe
unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?
24-15:10 Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of
strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on
usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth
curse me.
24-22:13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by
unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour’s
service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;
24-23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the
sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
24-45:3 Thou
didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath
added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
24-48:1 Against
Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe
unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab
is confounded and dismayed.

perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.
24-50:27 Slay all her
bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe
unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.
25-5:16 The crown
is fallen from our head: woe unto us,
that we have sinned!
26-2:10 And he
spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there
was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
26-13:3 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish
prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
26-13:18 And say, Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that
sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature
to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls
alive that come unto you?
26-16:23 And it
came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)
26-24:6 Wherefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city,
to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it!
bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.
26-24:9 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city!
I will even make the pile for fire great.
26-30:2 Son of
man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Howl ye, Woe worth the day!
26-34:2 Son of man,
prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus
saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be
to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the
shepherds feed the flocks?
28-7:13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction
unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed
them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
28-9:12 Though
they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not
be a man left: yea, woe also to
them when I depart from them!
30-5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what
end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not
light.
30-6:1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust
in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to
whom the house of Israel came!
33-2:1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon
their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the
power of their hand.
33-7:1 Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the
summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster
to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
34-3:1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and
robbery; the prey departeth not;
35-2:6 Shall
not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against
him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that
which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
35-2:9 Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his
house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the
power of evil!
35-2:12 Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and
stablisheth a city by iniquity!
35-2:15 Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that
puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou
mayest look on their nakedness!
35-2:19 Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the
dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and
silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
36-2:5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation
of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the
land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no
inhabitant.
36-3:1 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the
oppressing city!
38-11:17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the
sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be
clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
40-11:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe
unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been
done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and
ashes.
40-18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must
needs be that offences come; but woe to that man
by whom the offence cometh!
40-23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves,
neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
40-23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye
shall receive the greater damnation.
40-23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him
twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
40-23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say,
Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear
by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
40-23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters
of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and
not to leave the other undone.
40-23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are
full of extortion and excess.
40-23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but
are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
40-23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the
righteous,
40-24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that
give suck in those days!
40-26:24 The Son of
man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto
that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if
he had not been born.
41-13:17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give
suck in those days!
41-14:21 The Son of
man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe
to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he
had never been born.
42-6:24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your
consolation.
42-6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and
weep.
42-6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!
for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
42-10:13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe
unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which
have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in
sackcloth and ashes.
42-11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and
all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye
to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
42-11:43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost
seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
42-11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for
ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are
not aware of them.
42-11:46 And he
said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for
ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the
burdens with one of your fingers.
42-11:47 Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the
prophets, and your fathers killed them.
42-11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key
of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye
hindered.
42-17:1 Then said
he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
42-21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that
give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and
wrath upon this people.
42-22:22 And truly
the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe
unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
46-9:16 For
though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid
upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not
the gospel!
65-1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain,
and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the
gainsaying of Core.
66-8:13 And I
beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a
loud voice, Woe, woe,
woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of
the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
66-9:12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes
more hereafter.
66-11:14 The second
woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
66-12:12 Therefore
rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe
to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto
you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
