01-GENESIS
01-10:9 He
was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore
it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
01-16:14 Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
01-18:13 And
the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah
laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
01-21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman
and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
01-21:31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because
there they sware both of them.
01-24:31 And
he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore
standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
01-26:27 And
Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me,
seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?
01-29:25 And
it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for
Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?
01-31:27 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal
away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with
mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
01-31:30 And
now, though thou wouldest needs be
gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father’s house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my
gods?
01-32:29 And
Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it
that thou dost ask after my name? And
he blessed him there.
01-38:10 And
the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore
he slew him also.
01-40:7 And
he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with
him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore
look ye so sadly to day?
01-43:6 And
Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?
01-44:4 And when they were gone out of the city,
and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the
men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore
have ye rewarded evil for good?
01-44:7 And
they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord
these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing:
01-47:19 Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and
our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants
unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that
we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
01-47:22 Only
the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat
their portion which Pharaoh gave them: wherefore
they sold not their lands.
01-50:11 And
when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor
of Atad, they said, This is a
grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore
the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond Jordan.
02-2:13 And
when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove
together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore
smitest thou thy fellow?
02-5:4 And
the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do
ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your
burdens.
02-5:14 And
the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set
over them, were beaten, and demanded,
Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in
making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?
02-5:15 Then
the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?
02-5:22 And
Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore
hast thou so evil entreated this
people? why is it that thou hast sent me?
02-6:6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out
from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their
bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great
judgments:
02-14:11 And
they said unto Moses, Because there were no
graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us
forth out of Egypt?
02-14:15 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou
unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
02-17:2 Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said,
Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with
me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
02-17:3 And
the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and
said, Wherefore is this that thou hast
brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with
thirst?
02-20:11 For
in six days the LORD made heaven and
earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and
rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD
blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
02-31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the
sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
02-32:12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For
mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume
them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this
evil against thy people.
03-10:17 Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the
holy place, seeing it is most holy,
and God hath given it you to bear the
iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
03-13:25 Then
the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if
the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore
the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is
the plague of leprosy.
03-25:18 Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my
judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
04-9:7 And
those men said unto him, We are defiled
by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept
back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season
among the children of Israel?
04-11:11 And
Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted
thy servant? and wherefore have I not found
favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?
04-12:8 With
him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and
the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore
then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
04-14:3 And
wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this
land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey?
were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
04-14:41 And
Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the
commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.
04-16:3 And
they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said
unto them, Ye take too much upon you,
seeing all the congregation are holy,
every one of them, and the LORD is among
them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above
the congregation of the LORD?
04-20:5 And
wherefore have ye made us to come up out of
Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates;
neither is there any water to drink.
04-20:21 Thus
Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.
04-21:5 And
the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore
have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul
loatheth this light bread.
04-21:14 Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the
LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,
04-21:27 Wherefore they that speak in proverbs say, Come into
Heshbon, let the city of Sihon be built and prepared:
04-22:32 And
the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore
hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand
thee, because thy way is perverse
before me:
04-22:37 And
Balak said unto Balaam, Did I not earnestly send unto thee to call thee? wherefore camest thou not unto me? am I not able
indeed to promote thee to honour?
04-25:12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of
peace:
04-32:5 Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy
sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan.
04-32:7 And
wherefore discourage ye the heart of the
children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given
them?
05-7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to
these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto
thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
05-10:9 Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his
brethren; the LORD is his
inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.
05-19:7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate
three cities for thee.
05-29:24 Even
all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD
done thus unto this land? what meaneth the
heat of this great anger?
06-5:9 And
the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt
from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is
called Gilgal unto this day.
06-7:5 And
the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in
the going down: wherefore the hearts of the
people melted, and became as water.
06-7:7 And
Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast
thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the
Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the
other side Jordan!
06-7:10 And
the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore
liest thou thus upon thy face?
06-7:26 And
they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned
from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the
name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.
06-9:11 Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our
country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to
meet them, and say unto them, We are your
servants: therefore now make ye a league with us.
06-9:22 And
Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?
06-10:3 Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham
king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of
Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,
07-2:3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from
before you; but they shall be as thorns in
your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.
07-10:13 Yet
ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore
I will deliver you no more.
07-11:27 Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou
doest me wrong to war against me: the LORD the Judge be judge this day between
the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.
07-12:1 And
the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said
unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to
fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we
will burn thine house upon thee with fire.
07-12:3 And
when I saw that ye delivered me not,
I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and
the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore
then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
07-15:19 But
God clave an hollow place that was in
the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came
again, and he revived: wherefore he called the
name thereof Enhakkore, which is in
Lehi unto this day.
07-18:12 And
they went up, and pitched in Kirjathjearim, in Judah: wherefore
they called that place Mahanehdan unto this day: behold, it is behind Kirjathjearim.
08-1:7 Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she
was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return
unto the land of Judah.
09-1:20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come
about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name
Samuel, saying, Because I have asked
him of the LORD.
09-2:17 Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great
before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.
09-2:29 Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine
offering, which I have commanded in my habitation;
and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of
all the offerings of Israel my people?
09-2:30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy
father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from
me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be
lightly esteemed.
09-4:3 And
when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day before the
Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh
unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our
enemies.
09-6:5 Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and
images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of
Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your
gods, and from off your land.
09-6:6 Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the
Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully
among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?
09-9:21 And
Saul answered and said, Am not I a
Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of
all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore
then speakest thou so to me?
09-14:27 But
Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an
honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.
09-15:19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the
LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?
09-16:19 Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said,
Send me David thy son, which is with
the sheep.
09-18:15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very
wisely, he was afraid of him.
09-18:21 And
Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the
hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore
Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain.
09-18:27 Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and
slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and
they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king’s son in
law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.
09-19:5 For
he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought
a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore
then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
09-19:24 And
he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner,
and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore
they say, Is Saul also among the
prophets?
09-20:27 And
it came to pass on the morrow, which was the
second day of the month, that David’s
place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore
cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?
09-20:31 For
as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be
established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send
and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.
09-20:32 And
Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore
shall he be slain? what hath he done?
09-21:14 Then
said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have
ye brought him to me?
09-23:25 Saul
also and his men went to seek him. And
they told David: wherefore he came down into a
rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the
wilderness of Maon.
09-23:28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and
went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place
Selahammahlekoth.
09-24:9 And
David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men’s
words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?
09-24:19 For
if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away? wherefore
the LORD reward thee good for that thou hast done unto me this day.
09-25:8 Ask
thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore
let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I
pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son
David.
09-25:36 And
Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the
feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart was merry
within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until
the morning light.
09-26:15 And
David said to Abner, Art not thou a valiant man? and who is like to thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lord the king?
for there came one of the people in to destroy the king thy lord.
09-26:18 And
he said, Wherefore doth my lord thus pursue
after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in mine hand?
09-27:6 Then
Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore
Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.
09-28:9 And
the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath
cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to
cause me to die?
09-28:16 Then
said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me,
seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
09-29:7 Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou
displease not the lords of the Philistines.
09-29:10 Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy
master’s servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the
morning, and have light, depart.
10-2:16 And
they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow’s side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim, which
is in Gibeon.
10-2:22 And
Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then
should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?
10-2:23 Howbeit
he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with
the hinder end of the spear smote him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there,
and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died
stood still.
10-3:7 And
Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah,
the daughter of Aiah: and Ishbosheth said
to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my
father’s concubine?
10-5:8 And
David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the
Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that
are hated of David’s soul, he shall
be chief and captain. Wherefore they said,
The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
10-7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according
to all that we have heard with our ears.
10-10:4 Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off
the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them
away.
10-11:20 And
if so be that the king’s wrath arise, and he say unto thee, Wherefore approached ye so nigh unto the city when ye
did fight? knew ye not that they would shoot from the wall?
10-12:9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the
LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the
sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy
wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10-12:23 But
now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I
bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
10-14:13 And
the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou thought
such a thing against the people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as
one which is faulty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished.
10-14:31 Then
Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house,
and said unto him, Wherefore have thy servants
set my field on fire?
10-14:32 And
Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I
may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am
I come from Geshur? it had been good
for me to have been there still: now
therefore let me see the king’s face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.
10-15:19 Then
said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore
goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou
art a stranger, and also an exile.
10-16:10 And
the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse,
because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
10-18:22 Then
said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray
thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore
wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready?
10-19:12 Ye
are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?
10-19:25 And
it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king
said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with
me, Mephibosheth?
10-19:35 I
am this day fourscore years old: and can I discern between good and evil?
can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice
of singing men and singing women? wherefore then
should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?
10-19:42 And
all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king is near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we
eaten at all of the king’s cost? or
hath he given us any gift?
10-21:3 Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I
do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the
inheritance of the LORD?
10-24:21 And
Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come
to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an
altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.
11-1:2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be
sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king,
and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king
may get heat.
11-1:11 Wherefore Nathan spake unto Bathsheba the mother of
Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth
reign, and David our lord knoweth it not?
11-1:41 And
Adonijah and all the guests that were with
him heard it as they had made an end
of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is
this noise of the city being in an uproar?
11-11:11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as
this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which
I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give
it to thy servant.
11-12:15 Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for
the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD
spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
11-16:16 And
the people that were encamped heard
say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the
host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
11-20:9 Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Benhadad,
Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first
I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought
him word again.
11-22:34 And
a certain man drew a bow at a
venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn
thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
12-4:23 And
he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And
she said, It shall be well.
12-4:31 And
Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child;
but there was neither voice, nor
hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him,
and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.
12-5:7 And
it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his
clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill
and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his
leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see
how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
12-5:8 And
it was so, when Elisha the man of God
had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king,
saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes?
let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
12-7:7 Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and
left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
12-9:11 Then
Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all
well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them,
Ye know the man, and his communication.
12-9:36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said,
This is the word of the LORD, which
he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel
shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
12-17:26 Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying,
The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know
not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them,
and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the
land.
12-19:4 It
may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of
Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the
words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore
lift up thy prayer for the remnant
that are left.
13-13:11 And
David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.
13-19:4 Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved
them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent
them away.
13-21:4 Nevertheless
the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore
Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
13-29:10 Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation:
and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD
God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
14-5:3 Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves
unto the king in the feast which was in
the seventh month.
14-19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you;
take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our
God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
14-22:4 Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like
the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father
to his destruction.
14-25:10 Then
Amaziah separated them, to wit, the
army that was come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah,
and they returned home in great anger.
14-25:15 Wherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against
Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou
sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people
out of thine hand?
14-28:5 Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand
of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of
them captives, and brought them to
Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who
smote him with a great slaughter.
14-29:8 Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and
Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to
hissing, as ye see with your eyes.
14-29:34 But
the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them,
till the work was ended, and until the other
priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.
14-33:11 Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of
the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and
bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
16-2:2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but
sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,
17-3:6 And
he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the
people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to
destroy all the Jews that were throughout
the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the
people of Mordecai.
17-9:26 Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name
of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had
come unto them,
18-3:20 Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and
life unto the bitter in soul;
18-10:2 I
will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore
thou contendest with me.
18-10:18 Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the
womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!
18-13:14 Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my
life in mine hand?
18-13:24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for
thine enemy?
18-18:3 Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?
18-21:7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are
mighty in power?
18-32:6 And
Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very
old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew
you mine opinion.
18-33:1 Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and
hearken to all my words.
18-42:6 Wherefore I abhor myself,
and repent in dust and ashes.
19-10:13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in
his heart, Thou wilt not require it.
19-44:24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
19-49:5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall
compass me about?
19-79:10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the
heathen in our sight by the revenging
of the blood of thy servants which is shed.
19-89:47 Remember
how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made
all men in vain?
19-115:2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
20-17:16 Wherefore is
there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?
21-3:22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own
works; for that is his portion: for
who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
21-4:2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead
more than the living which are yet alive.
21-5:6 Suffer
not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel,
that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and
destroy the work of thine hands?
23-5:4 What
could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth
grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
23-10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion
and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of
Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
23-16:11 Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab,
and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.
23-24:15 Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel
in the isles of the sea.
23-28:14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men,
that rule this people which is in
Jerusalem.
23-29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw
near me with their mouth, and with
their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their
fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
23-30:12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because
ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay
thereon:
23-37:4 It
may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of
Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the
words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore
lift up thy prayer for the remnant
that is left.
23-50:2 Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it
cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the
sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.
23-55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul
delight itself in fatness.
23-58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou
takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and
exact all your labours.
23-63:2 Wherefore art
thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the
winefat?
24-2:9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD,
and with your children’s children will I plead.
24-2:29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have
transgressed against me, saith the LORD.
24-2:31 O
generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel?
a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We
are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
24-5:6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil
them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence
shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
24-5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye
speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this
people wood, and it shall devour them.
24-5:19 And
it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore
doeth the LORD our God all these things unto
us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served
strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
24-12:1 Righteous
art thou, O LORD, when I plead with
thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments:
Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are
all they happy that deal very treacherously?
24-13:22 And
if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these
things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
24-16:10 And
it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and
they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the
LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our
sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
24-20:18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour
and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
24-22:8 And
many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his
neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus
unto this great city?
24-22:28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken
idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore
are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know
not?
24-23:12 Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be
driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith
the LORD.
24-27:17 Hearken
not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore
should this city be laid waste?
24-30:6 Ask
ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore
do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all
faces are turned into paleness?
24-32:3 For
Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore
dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city
into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
24-37:15 Wherefore the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and
smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they
had made that the prison.
24-40:15 Then
Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me
go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall
know it: wherefore
should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be
scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?
24-44:6 Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and
was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they
are wasted and desolate, as at this
day.
24-44:7 Therefore
now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and
woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
24-46:5 Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty
ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.
24-49:4 Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing
valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
24-51:52 Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that
I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded
shall groan.
25-3:39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the
punishment of his sins?
25-5:20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?
26-5:11 Wherefore, as I
live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with
all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I
also diminish thee; neither shall
mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity.
26-7:24 Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and
they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to
cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.
26-13:20 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye
there hunt the souls to make them fly,
and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
26-16:35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:
26-18:32 For
I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves,
and live ye.
26-20:10 Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of
Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.
26-20:25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments
whereby they should not live;
26-20:30 Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye
whoredom after their abominations?
26-21:7 And
it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore
sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and
every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall
faint, and all knees shall be weak as water:
behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.
26-23:9 Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her
lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.
26-24:6 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody
city, to the pot whose scum is therein,
and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot
fall upon it.
26-33:25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye
eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood:
and shall ye possess the land?
26-36:18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood
that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:
26-43:8 In
their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts,
and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their
abominations that they have committed: wherefore
I have consumed them in mine anger.
27-3:8 Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near,
and accused the Jews.
27-4:27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto
thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing
mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
27-6:9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the
decree.
27-8:26 And
the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the
vision; for it shall be for many
days.
27-10:20 Then
said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto
thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am
gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
29-2:17 Let
the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar,
and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to
reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore
should they say among the people, Where is
their God?
32-1:14 Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We
beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man’s life,
and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased
thee.
35-1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold
evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore
lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
39-2:14 Yet
ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been
witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt
treacherously: yet is she thy
companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
39-2:15 And
did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed.
Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the
wife of his youth.
40-6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field,
which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe
you, O ye of little faith?
40-7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
40-9:4 And
Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore
think ye evil in your hearts?
40-12:12 How
much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore
it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
40-12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and
blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost
shall not be forgiven unto men.
40-14:31 And
immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand,
and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
40-18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut
them off, and cast them from thee: it
is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two
hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
40-19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What
therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
40-23:31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are
the children of them which killed the prophets.
40-23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise
men, and scribes: and some of them ye
shall kill and crucify; and some of
them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
40-24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in
the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in
the secret chambers; believe it not.
40-26:50 And
Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come?
Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
40-27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood,
unto this day.
42-7:7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto
thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
42-7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many,
are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
42-19:23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank,
that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
43-9:27 He
answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
44-1:21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us
all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
44-6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men
of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over
this business.
44-10:21 Then
Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said,
Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the
cause wherefore ye are come?
44-13:35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy
One to see corruption.
44-15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them,
which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
44-19:32 Some
therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and
the more part knew not wherefore they were come
together.
44-19:38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are
with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are
deputies: let them implead one another.
44-20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
44-22:24 The
chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he
should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore
they cried so against him.
44-22:30 On
the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore
he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to
appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
44-23:28 And
when I would have known the cause wherefore they
accused him, I brought him forth into their council:
44-24:26 He
hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose
him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and
communed with him.
44-25:26 Of
whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore
I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, O king Agrippa,
that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.
44-26:3 Especially
because I know thee to be expert in
all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore
I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
44-27:25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God,
that it shall be even as it was told me.
44-27:34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair
fall from the head of any of you.
45-1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through
the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between
themselves:
45-5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,
and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
45-7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the
law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead,
that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
45-7:12 Wherefore the law is
holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
45-9:32 Wherefore? Because they
sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they
stumbled at that stumblingstone;
45-13:5 Wherefore ye must
needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
45-15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also
received us to the glory of God.
46-4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
46-8:13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will
eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
46-10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed
lest he fall.
46-10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
46-11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall
be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
46-11:33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat,
tarry one for another.
46-12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man
speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
46-14:13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may
interpret.
46-14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that
believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
46-14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not
to speak with tongues.
47-2:8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
47-5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent,
we may be accepted of him.
47-5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh:
yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
47-6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye
separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
47-7:12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done
the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in
the sight of God might appear unto you.
47-8:24 Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches,
the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
47-11:11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
48-3:19 Wherefore then serveth
the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come
to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained
by angels in the hand of a mediator.
48-3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might
be justified by faith.
48-4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and
if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
49-1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the
Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
49-2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called
Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by
hands;
49-3:13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my
tribulations for you, which is your glory.
49-4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he
led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
49-4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth
with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
49-5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and
arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
49-5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the
will of the Lord is.
49-6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that
ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
50-2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given
him a name which is above every name:
50-2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not
as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own
salvation with fear and trembling.
51-2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments
of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
52-2:18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul,
once and again; but Satan hindered us.
52-3:1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought
it good to be left at Athens alone;
52-4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
52-5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one
another, even as also ye do.
53-1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would
count you worthy of this calling, and
fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness,
and the work of faith with power:
55-1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up
the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
56-1:13 This
witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply,
that they may be sound in the faith;
57-1:8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to
enjoin thee that which is convenient,
58-2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like
unto his brethren, that he might be a
merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining
to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
58-3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly
calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
58-3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will
hear his voice,
58-3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and
said, They do alway err in their heart;
and they have not known my ways.
58-7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the
uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession
for them.
58-8:3 For
every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of
necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
58-10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith,
Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
58-11:16 But
now they desire a better country, that
is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to
be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
58-12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so
great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which
doth so easily beset us, and let us
run with patience the race that is set before us,
58-12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the
feeble knees;
58-12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be
moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence
and godly fear:
58-13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the
people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
59-1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift
to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
59-1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of
naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to
save your souls.
59-4:6 But
he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God
resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
60-1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober,
and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the
revelation of Jesus Christ;
60-2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and
hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
60-2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture,
Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that
believeth on him shall not be confounded.
60-4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will
of God commit the keeping of their souls to
him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
61-1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make
your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
61-1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in
remembrance of these things, though ye know them,
and be established in the present truth.
61-3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things,
be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
62-3:12 Not
as Cain, who was of that wicked one,
and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him?
Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
64-1:10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which
he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith,
neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would,
and casteth them out of the church.
66-17:7 And the
angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel?
I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her,
which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
