01-2:6 But
there went up a mist from the earth, and watered
the whole face of the ground.
01-2:21 And
the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took
one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead
thereof;

Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the
field, that Cain rose up against Abel his
brother, and slew him.
01-7:11 In
the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day
of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
01-7:17 And
the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up
above the earth.
01-8:7 And
he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried
up from off the earth.
01-8:13 And
it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the
first day of the month, the waters were dried up
from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and,
behold, the face of the ground was dry.
01-13:1 And
Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife,
and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
01-13:10 And
Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain
of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed
Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as
thou comest unto Zoar.
01-13:14 And
the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou
art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
01-14:22 And
Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine
hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
01-17:22 And
he left off talking with him, and God went up
from Abraham.
01-18:2 And
he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three
men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door,
and bowed himself toward the ground,
01-18:16 And
the men rose up from thence, and looked toward
Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.
01-19:1 And
there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and
Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he
bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
01-19:2 And
he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house,
and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but
we will abide in the street all night.
01-19:14 And
Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and
said, Up, get you out of this place; for the
LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in
law.
01-19:27 And
Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place
where he stood before the LORD:
01-19:28 And
he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and
beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up
as the smoke of a furnace.
01-19:30 And
Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the
mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and
he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
01-20:18 For
the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the
house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife.
01-21:14 And
Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread,
and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and
the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness
of Beersheba.
01-21:16 And
she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a
bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over
against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
01-21:18 Arise,
lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for
I will make him a great nation.
01-21:32 Thus
they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up,
and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of
the Philistines.
01-22:3 And
Abraham rose up early in the morning, and
saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and
clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up,
and went unto the place of which God had told him.
01-22:4 Then
on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and
saw the place afar off.
01-22:13 And
Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and
behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and
took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt
offering in the stead of his son.
01-22:19 So
Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up
and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.
01-23:3 And
Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake
unto the sons of Heth, saying,
01-23:7 And
Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the
people of the land, even to the children of Heth.
01-24:16 And
the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her:
and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
01-24:54 And
they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all
night; and they rose up in the morning, and he
said, Send me away unto my master.
01-24:63 And
Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were
coming.
01-24:64 And
Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw
Isaac, she lighted off the camel.

Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good
old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven
years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and
was gathered unto his people.
01-25:34 Then
Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and
rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised
his birthright.
01-26:23 And
he went up from thence to Beersheba.
01-26:31 And
they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware
one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.
01-27:38 And
Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me,
even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up
his voice, and wept.
01-28:12 And
he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the
earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God
ascending and descending on it.

Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the
stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up
for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
01-29:11 And
Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice,
and wept.
01-31:10 And
it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the
rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.
01-31:12 And
he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the
rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I
have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
01-31:17 Then
Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives
upon camels;
01-31:21 So
he fled with all that he had; and he rose up,
and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
01-31:35 And
she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me.
And he searched, but found not the images.
01-31:45 And
Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
01-31:55 And
early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed
his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned
unto his place.
01-32:22 And
he rose up that night, and took his two wives,
and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford
Jabbok.
01-33:1 And
Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and,
behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children
unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.
01-33:5 And
he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the
children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which
God hath graciously given thy servant.
01-35:1 And
God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and
dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when
thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
01-35:3 And
let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will
make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and
was with me in the way which I went.
01-35:13 And
God went up from him in the place where he
talked with him.
01-35:14 And
Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked
with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and
he poured oil thereon.
01-35:29 And
Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was
gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and
Jacob buried him.
01-37:25 And
they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up
their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead
with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to
Egypt.
01-37:28 Then
there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the
Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.
01-37:35 And
all his sons and all his daughters rose up to
comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down
into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.
01-38:8 And
Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.
01-38:12 And
in process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah’s wife died; and Judah was
comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to
Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.
01-38:13 And
it was told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep.
01-39:15 And
it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up
my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him
out.
01-39:16 And
she laid up his garment by her, until his lord
came home.
01-39:18 And
it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and
cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.
01-40:13 Yet
within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine
head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup
into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
01-40:19 Yet
within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head
from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh
from off thee.
01-40:20 And
it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a
feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up
the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
01-41:2 And,
behold, there came up out of the river seven well
favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.
01-41:3 And,
behold, seven other kine came up after them out
of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon
the brink of the river.
01-41:4 And
the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up
the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.
01-41:5 And
he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.
01-41:6 And,
behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.
01-41:18 And,
behold, there came up out of the river seven
kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:
01-41:19 And,
behold, seven other kine came up after them,
poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land
of Egypt for badness:
01-41:20 And
the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up
the first seven fat kine:
01-41:21 And
when they had eaten them up, it could not be
known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the
beginning. So I awoke.
01-41:22 And
I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up
in one stalk, full and good:
01-41:23 And,
behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:
01-41:27 And
the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up
after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind
shall be seven years of famine.
01-41:34 Let
Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven
plenteous years.
01-41:35 And
let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep
food in the cities.
01-41:44 And
Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.
01-41:48 And
he gathered up all the food of the seven years,
which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the
food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city,
laid he up in the same.
01-43:2 And
it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn
which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy
us a little food.
01-43:15 And
the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and
Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt,
and stood before Joseph.
01-43:29 And
he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother
Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye
spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.
01-44:4 And
when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his
steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou
dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good?
01-44:17 And
he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is
found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up
in peace unto your father.
01-44:24 And
it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant
my father, we told him the words of my lord.
01-44:30 Now
therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us;
seeing that his life is bound up in the lad’s
life;
01-44:33 Now
therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to
my lord; and let the lad go up with his
brethren.
01-44:34 For
how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be
not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.
01-45:9 Haste
ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him,
Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto
me, tarry not:
01-45:25 And
they went up out of Egypt, and came into the
land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,
01-46:4 I
will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine
eyes.
01-46:5 And
Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel
carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the
wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
01-46:29 And
Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to
meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell
on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
01-46:31 And
Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren,
and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
01-47:14 And
Joseph gathered up all the money that was found
in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they
bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.
01-48:17 And
when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim,
it displeased him: and he held up his father’s
hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.
01-49:4 Unstable
as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up
to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up
to my couch.
01-49:9 Judah
is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who
shall rouse him up?
01-49:33 And
when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
01-50:5 My
father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me
in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come
again.
01-50:6 And
Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father,
according as he made thee swear.
01-50:7 And
Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him
went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders
of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
01-50:9 And
there went up with him both chariots and
horsemen: and it was a very great company.
01-50:14 And
Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried
his father.
01-50:23 And
Joseph saw Ephraim’s children of the third generation: the children also of
Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon
Joseph’s knees.
01-50:25 And
Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit
you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
02-1:8 Now
there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew
not Joseph.
02-1:10 Come
on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass,
that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and
fight against us, and so get them up out of the
land.
02-2:17 And
the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.
02-2:23 And
it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the
children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their
cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
02-3:8 And
I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring
them up out of that land unto a good land and a
large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the
Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the
Hivites, and the Jebusites.
02-3:17 And
I have said, I will bring you up out of the
affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the
Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land
flowing with milk and honey.
02-7:12 For
they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod
swallowed up their rods.
02-7:20 And
Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the
river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the
waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
02-8:3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:
02-8:4 And
the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon
thy people, and upon all thy servants.
02-8:5 And
the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy
rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to
come up upon the land of Egypt.
02-8:6 And
Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
02-8:7 And
the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
02-8:20 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the
morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say
unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
02-9:10 And
they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled
it up toward heaven; and it became a boil
breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
02-9:13 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the
morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of
the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
02-9:16 And
in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up,
for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all
the earth.
02-9:32 But
the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.
02-10:12 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the
locusts, that they may come up upon the land of
Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
02-10:14 And
the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt,
and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them
there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
02-12:6 And
ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of
the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill
it in the evening.
02-12:30 And
Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his
servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there
was not a house where there was not one dead.
02-12:31 And
he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up,
and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and
go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.
02-12:34 And
the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being
bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
02-12:38 And
a mixed multitude went up also with them; and
flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
02-13:18 But
God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and
the children of Israel went up harnessed out of
the land of Egypt.
02-13:19 And
Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children
of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
02-14:10 And
when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up
their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore
afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
02-14:16 But
lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand
over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground
through the midst of the sea.
02-15:7 And
in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which
consumed them as stubble.
02-16:13 And
it came to pass, that at even the quails came up,
and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
02-16:14 And
when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon
the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar
frost on the ground.
02-16:23 And
he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest
of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and
seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
02-16:24 And
they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade:
and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
02-16:33 And
Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and
lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your
generations.
02-16:34 As
the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before
the Testimony, to be kept.
02-17:3 And
the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and
said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up
out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
02-17:10 So
Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron,
and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
02-17:11 And
it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand,
that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
02-17:12 But
Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he
sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his
hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands
were steady until the going down of the sun.
02-19:3 And
Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto
him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and
tell the children of Israel;
02-19:12 And
thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to
yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or
touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to
death:
02-19:13 There
shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through;
whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long,
they shall come up to the mount.
02-19:20 And
the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD
called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses
went up.
02-19:23 And
Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up
to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and
sanctify it.
02-19:24 And
the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests
and the people break through to come up unto the
LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
02-20:25 And
if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone:
for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast
polluted it.
02-20:26 Neither
shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that
thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
02-22:2 If
a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten
that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
02-24:1 And
he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou,
and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship
ye afar off.
02-24:2 And
Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither
shall the people go up with him.
02-24:4 And
Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up
early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars,
according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
02-24:9 Then
went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and
seventy of the elders of Israel:
02-24:12 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the
mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and
commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
02-24:13 And
Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and
Moses went up into the mount of God.
02-24:15 And
Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud
covered the mount.
02-24:18 And
Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up
into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
02-26:15 And

02-26:30 And
thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to
the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.
02-26:33 And
thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches,
that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and
the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.
02-29:27 And
thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the shoulder of the
heave offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up,
of the ram of the consecration, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that
which is for his sons:
02-32:1 And
when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the
people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for
this Moses, the man that brought us up out of
the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
02-32:4 And
he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he
had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which
brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
02-32:6 And
they rose up early on the morrow, and offered
burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat
and to drink, and rose up to play.
02-32:8 They
have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made
them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and
said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
02-32:23 For
they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this
Moses, the man that brought us up out of the
land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
02-32:30 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned
a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD;
peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
02-33:1 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up
hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up
out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac,
and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:
02-33:3 Unto
a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up
in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in
the way.
02-33:5 For
the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a
stiffnecked people: I will come up into the
midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy
ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.
02-33:8 And
it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people
rose up, and stood every man at his tent door,
and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.
02-33:10 And
all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the
people rose up and worshipped, every man in his
tent door.
02-33:12 And
Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom
thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast
also found grace in my sight.
02-33:15 And
he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
02-34:2 And
be ready in the morning, and come up in the
morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the
mount.
02-34:3 And
no man shall come up with thee, neither let any
man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed
before that mount.
02-34:4 And
he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him,
and took in his hand the two tables of stone.
02-34:24 For
I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall
any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up
to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year.
02-35:21 And
they came, every one whose heart stirred him up,
and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD’S
offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his
service, and for the holy garments.
02-35:26 And
all the women whose heart stirred them up in
wisdom spun goats’ hair.
02-36:2 And
Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart
the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:
02-36:20 And
he made boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood, standing up.
02-40:2 On
the first day of the first month shalt thou set up
the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.
02-40:8 And
thou shalt set up the court round about, and
hang up the hanging at the court gate.
02-40:17 And
it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the
month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
02-40:18 And
Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his
sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put
in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.
02-40:21 And
he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up
the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD
commanded Moses.
02-40:28 And
he set up the hanging at the door of the
tabernacle.
02-40:33 And
he reared up the court round about the
tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging
of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.
02-40:36 And
when the cloud was taken up from over the
tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:
02-40:37 But
if the cloud were not taken up, then they
journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
03-6:10 And
the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put
upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the
fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them
beside the altar.
03-9:22 And
Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and
blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt
offering, and peace offerings.
03-11:45 For
I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the
land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
03-13:4 If
the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper
than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall
shut up him that hath the plague seven days:
03-13:5 And
the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his
sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest
shall shut him up seven days more:
03-13:11 It
is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall pronounce him
unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is
unclean.
03-13:21 But
if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and if
it be not lower than the skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut
him up seven days:
03-13:26 But
if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the bright
spot, and it be no lower than the other skin, but be somewhat dark; then the
priest shall shut him up seven days:
03-13:31 And
if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight
deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest
shall shut up him that hath the plague of the
scall seven days:
03-13:33 He
shall be shaven, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up him that hath the scall seven days more:
03-13:37 But
if the scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the
priest shall pronounce him clean.
03-13:42 And
if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a
leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald
forehead.
03-13:50 And
the priest shall look upon the plague, and shut up
it that hath the plague seven days:
03-13:54 Then
the priest shall command that they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he
shall shut it up seven days more:
03-14:38 Then
the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days:
03-14:46 Moreover
he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.
03-19:16 Thou
shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among
thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am
the LORD.
03-19:32 Thou
shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour
the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.
03-22:30 On
the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall
leave none of it until the morrow: I am the LORD.
03-26:1 Ye
shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto
it: for I am the LORD your God.
03-26:38 And
ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
04-1:51 And
when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when
the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to
death.
04-6:26 The
LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give
thee peace.
04-7:1 And
it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up
the tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments
thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and
sanctified them;
04-9:15 And
on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the
cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even
there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the
morning.
04-9:17 And
when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle,
then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the
cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.
04-9:21 And
so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud
was taken up in the morning, then they
journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
04-9:22 Or
whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon
the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents,
and journeyed not: but when it was taken up,
they journeyed.
04-10:11 And
it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year,
that the cloud was taken up from off the
tabernacle of the testimony.
04-10:21 And
the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.
04-10:35 And
it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let
them that hate thee flee before thee.
04-11:32 And
the people stood up all that day, and all that
night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered
least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round
about the camp.
04-13:17 And
Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up
into the mountain:
04-13:21 So
they went up, and searched the land from the
wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.
04-13:30 And
Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to
overcome it.
04-13:31 But
the men that went up with him said, We be not
able to go up against the people; for they are
stronger than we.
04-13:32 And
they brought up an evil report of the land which
they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which
we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up
the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a
great stature.
04-14:1 And
all the congregation lifted up their voice, and
cried; and the people wept that night.
04-14:13 And
Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou
broughtest up this people in thy might from
among them;)
04-14:36 And
the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the
congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up
a slander upon the land,
04-14:37 Even
those men that did bring up the evil report upon
the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
04-14:40 And
they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be
here, and will go up unto the place which the
LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.
04-14:42 Go
not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye
be not smitten before your enemies.
04-14:44 But
they presumed to go up unto the hill top:
nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out
of the camp.
04-15:19 Then
it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer up an heave offering unto the LORD.
04-15:20 Ye
shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough
for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so
shall ye heave it.
04-16:2 And
they rose up before Moses, with certain of the
children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in
the congregation, men of renown:
04-16:3 And
they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said
unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy,
every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
04-16:12 And
Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will
not come up:
04-16:13 Is
it a small thing that thou hast brought us up
out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness,
except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?
04-16:14 Moreover
thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given
us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these
men? we will not come up.
04-16:24 Speak
unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from
about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
04-16:25 And
Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram;
and the elders of Israel followed him.
04-16:27 So
they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah,
Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in
the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little
children.
04-16:30 But
if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go
down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked
the LORD.
04-16:32 And
the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up,
and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their
goods.
04-16:34 And
all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said,
Lest the earth swallow us up also.
04-16:37 Speak
unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up
the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are
hallowed.
04-16:45 Get
you up from among this congregation, that I may consume
them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
04-17:4 And
thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the
congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.
04-17:7 And
Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle
of witness.
04-18:26 Thus
speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of
Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then
ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for
the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.
04-19:9 And
a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of
the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in
a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of
Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.
04-20:4 And
why have ye brought up the congregation of the
LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?
04-20:5 And
wherefore have ye made us to come up out of
Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs,
or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.
04-20:11 And
Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he
smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation
drank, and their beasts also.
04-20:25 Take
Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up
unto mount Hor:
04-20:27 And
Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up
into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.
04-21:3 And
the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and
their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.
04-21:5 And
the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is
no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
04-21:17 Then
Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing
ye unto it:
04-21:33 And
they turned and went up by the way of Bashan:
and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the
battle at Edrei.
04-22:4 And
Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor
was king of the Moabites at that time.
04-22:13 And
Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the
princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me
leave to go with you.
04-22:14 And
the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto
Balak, and said, Balaam refuseth to come with us.
04-22:20 And
God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee,
rise up, and go with them; but yet the word
which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.
04-22:21 And
Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his
ass, and went with the princes of Moab.
04-22:41 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might
see the utmost part of the people.
04-23:7 And
he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king
of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying,
Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
04-23:18 And
he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of
Zippor:
04-23:24 Behold,
the people shall rise up as a great lion, and
lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not
lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
04-24:2 And
Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel
abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon
him.
04-24:3 And
he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son
of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
04-24:8 God
brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn:
he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and
shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
04-24:9 He
couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he
that curseth thee.
04-24:15 And
he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son
of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
04-24:20 And
when he looked on Amalek, he took up his
parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end
shall be that he perish for ever.
04-24:21 And
he looked on the Kenites, and took up his
parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a
rock.
04-24:23 And
he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who
shall live when God doeth this!
04-24:25 And
Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his
place: and Balak also went his way.
04-25:4 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce
anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
04-25:7 And
when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose
up from among the congregation, and took a
javelin in his hand;
04-26:10 And
the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up
together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two
hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.
04-27:12 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this
mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
04-31:52 And
all the gold of the offering that they offered up
to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was
sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.
04-32:9 For
when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and
saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they
should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.
04-32:11 Surely
none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from
twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham,
unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
04-32:14 And,
behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead,
an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward
Israel.
04-33:38 And
Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the
commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the
children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the
fifth month.
05-1:21 Behold,
the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up
and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not,
neither be discouraged.
05-1:22 And
ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us,
and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we
must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
05-1:24 And
they turned and went up into the mountain, and
came unto the valley of Eshcol, and searched it out.
05-1:26 Notwithstanding
ye would not go up, but rebelled against the
commandment of the LORD your God:
05-1:28 Whither
shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged
our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are
great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we
have seen the sons of the Anakims there.
05-1:41 Then
ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God
commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were
ready to go up into the hill.
05-1:42 And
the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up,
neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.
05-1:43 So
I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment
of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the
hill.
05-2:13 Now
rise up, said I, and get you over the brook
Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.
05-2:24 Rise
ye up, take your journey, and pass over the
river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of
Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
05-3:1 Then
we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og
the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at
Edrei.
05-3:27 Get
thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward,
and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this
Jordan.
05-4:19 And
lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and
when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of
heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy
God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
05-5:5 (I
stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD:
for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up
into the mount;) saying,
05-6:7 And
thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when
thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou
liest down, and when thou risest up.
05-8:14 Then
thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the
LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house
of bondage;
05-9:1 Hear,
O Israel: Thou art to pass over
Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself,
cities great and fenced up to heaven,
05-9:9 When
I was gone up into the mount to receive the
tables of stone, even the tables of
the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days
and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
05-9:23 Likewise
when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up
and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the
commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his
voice.
05-10:1 At
that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the
first, and come up unto me into the mount, and
make thee an ark of wood.
05-10:3 And
I made an ark of shittim wood, and
hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.
05-11:6 And
what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how
the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up,
and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of
all Israel:
05-11:17 And
then the LORD’S wrath be kindled
against you, and he shut up the heaven, that
there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good
land which the LORD giveth you.
05-11:18 Therefore
shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and
in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as
frontlets between your eyes.
05-11:19 And
ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine
house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou
risest up.
05-14:25 Then
shalt thou turn it into money, and
bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go
unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
05-14:28 At
the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase
the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
05-16:22 Neither
shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.
05-17:8 If
there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood,
between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou
arise, and get thee up into the place which the
LORD thy God shall choose;
05-17:20 That
his heart be not lifted up above his brethren,
and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the
left: to the end that he may prolong his days
in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
05-18:15 The
LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet
from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall
hearken;
05-18:18 I
will raise them up a Prophet from among their
brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall
speak unto them all that I shall command him.
05-19:11 But
if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die,
and fleeth into one of these cities:
05-19:15 One
witness shall not rise up against a man for any
iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two
witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
05-19:16 If
a false witness rise up against any man to
testify against him that which is wrong;
05-20:1 When
thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots,
and a people more than thou, be not
afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with
thee, which brought thee up out of the land of
Egypt.
05-22:4 Thou
shalt not see thy brother’s ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide
thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.
05-22:14 And
give occasions of speech against her, and bring up
an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I
found her not a maid:
05-22:19 And
they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels
of silver, and give them unto the
father of the damsel, because he hath brought up
an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put
her away all his days.
05-23:14 For
the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give
up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall
thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from
thee.
05-24:5 When
a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be
charged with any business: but he
shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up
his wife which he hath taken.
05-25:7 And
if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s
brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a
name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
05-25:9 Then
shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose
his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So
shall it be done unto that man that will not build up
his brother’s house.
05-27:2 And
it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the
LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up
great stones, and plaister them with plaister:
05-27:4 Therefore
it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that
ye shall set up these stones, which I
command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with
plaister.
05-27:5 And
there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou
shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
05-28:7 The
LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up
against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee
one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
05-28:33 The
fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not
eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and
crushed alway:
05-28:43 The
stranger that is within thee shall
get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come
down very low.
05-29:22 So
that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a
far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses
which the LORD hath laid upon it;
05-30:12 It
is not in heaven, that thou shouldest
say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring
it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
05-31:5 And
the LORD shall give them up before your face,
that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have
commanded you.
05-31:16 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this
people will rise up, and go a whoring after the
gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which
I have made with them.
05-32:11 As
an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over
her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
05-32:17 They
sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
05-32:30 How
should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their
Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
05-32:34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed
up among my treasures?
05-32:36 For
the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he
seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.
05-32:38 Which
did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank
the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up
and help you, and be your protection.
05-32:40 For
I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for
ever.
05-32:49 Get
thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the
land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:
05-32:50 And
die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be
gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was
gathered unto his people:
05-33:2 And
he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up
from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten
thousands of saints: from his right hand went
a fiery law for them.
05-34:1 And
Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the
mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of
Gilead, unto Dan,
06-2:6 But
she had brought them up to the roof of the house,
and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the
roof.
06-2:8 And
before they were laid down, she came up unto
them upon the roof;
06-2:10 For
we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of
the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two
kings of the Amorites, that were on
the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
06-3:6 And
Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up
the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the
people.
06-3:16 That
the waters which came down from above stood and
rose up upon an heap very far from the city
Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and
those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and
were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
06-4:5 And
Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the
midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of
you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the
children of Israel:
06-4:8 And
the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the
LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children
of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged,
and laid them down there.
06-4:9 And
Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of
Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the
covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.
06-4:16 Command
the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.
06-4:17 Joshua
therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up
out of Jordan.
06-4:18 And
it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD
were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests’ feet were
lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of
Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.
06-4:19 And
the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in
Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.
06-4:23 For
the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan
from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red
sea, which he dried up from before us, until we
were gone over:
06-5:1 And
it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the
Canaanites, which were by the sea,
heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of
Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that
their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the
children of Israel.
06-5:7 And
their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised: for they
were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way.
06-5:13 And
it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man
over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him,
and said unto him, Art thou for us,
or for our adversaries?
06-6:1 Now
Jericho was straitly shut up because of the
children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
06-6:5 And
it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and
when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a
great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people
shall ascend up every man straight before him.
06-6:6 And
Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear
seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD.
06-6:12 And
Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up
the ark of the LORD.
06-6:20 So
the people shouted when the priests blew
with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the
trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down
flat, so that the people went up into the city,
every man straight before him, and they took the city.
06-6:26 And
Joshua adjured them at that time,
saying, Cursed be the man before the
LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city
Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his
youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
06-7:2 And
Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is
beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying,
Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.
06-7:3 And
they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and
make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.
06-7:4 So
there went up thither of the people about three
thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.
06-7:10 And
the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up;
wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?
06-7:13 Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves
against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou
canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing
from among you.
06-7:16 So
Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought
Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:
06-8:1 And
the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the
people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai:
see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city,
and his land:
06-8:3 So
Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up
against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valour, and sent
them away by night.
06-8:7 Then
ye shall rise up from the ambush, and seize upon
the city: for the LORD your God will deliver it into your hand.
06-8:10 And
Joshua rose up early in the morning, and
numbered the people, and went up, he and the
elders of Israel, before the people to Ai.
06-8:11 And
all the people, even the people of
war that were with him, went up, and drew nigh, and came before the city, and
pitched on the north side of Ai: now there
was a valley between them and Ai.
06-8:14 And
it came to pass, when the king of Ai saw it,
that they hasted and rose up early, and the
men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a
time appointed, before the plain; but he wist not that there were liers in ambush against him behind the city.
06-8:20 And
when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the
city ascended up to heaven, and they had no
power to flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness
turned back upon the pursuers.
06-8:31 As
Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written
in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man
hath lift up any
iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and
sacrificed peace offerings.
06-9:4 They
did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took
old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;
06-10:4 Come
up unto me, and help me, that we may smite
Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
06-10:5 Therefore
the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the
king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves
together, and went up, they and all their hosts,
and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.
06-10:6 And
the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy
hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly,
and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains
are gathered together against us.
06-10:9 Joshua
therefore came unto them suddenly, and went
up from Gilgal all night.
06-10:10 And
the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter
at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up
to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
06-10:12 Then
spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he
said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon,
in the valley of Ajalon.
06-10:33 Then
Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and
Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.
06-10:36 And
Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with
him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:
06-11:6 And
the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about
this time will I deliver them up all slain
before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
06-11:17 Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon
under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
06-12:7 And
these are the kings of the country
which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west,
from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of
Israel for a possession according to
their divisions;
06-14:8 Nevertheless
my brethren that went up with me made the heart
of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
06-15:3 And
it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and
ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea,
and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar,
and fetched a compass to Karkaa:
06-15:6 And
the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed
along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up
to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:
06-15:7 And
the border went up toward Debir from the valley
of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim,
which is on the south side of the
river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out
thereof were at Enrogel:
06-15:8 And
the border went up by the valley of the son of
Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up
to the top of the mountain that lieth before
the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at
the end of the valley of the giants northward:
06-15:15 And
he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir:
and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.
06-16:1 And
the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water
of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up
from Jericho throughout mount Bethel.
06-17:15 And
Joshua answered them, If thou be a
great people, then get thee up to the wood country,
and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the
giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
06-18:1 And
the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh,
and set up the tabernacle of the congregation
there. And the land was subdued before them.
06-18:11 And
the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up
according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the
children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
06-18:12 And
their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out
thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.
06-18:17 And
was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth,
which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the
son of Reuben,
06-19:10 And
the third lot came up for the children of
Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was
unto Sarid:
06-19:11 And
their border went up toward the sea, and
Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam;
06-19:12 And
turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of
Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia.
06-19:47 And
the coast of the children of Dan went out too
little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge
of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan,
after the name of Dan their father.
06-20:5 And
if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the
slayer up into his hand; because he smote his
neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.
06-22:12 And
when the children of Israel heard of it, the
whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at
Shiloh, to go up to war against them.
06-22:33 And
the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed
God, and did not intend to go up against them in
battle, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.
06-24:17 For
the LORD our God, he it is that
brought us up and our fathers out of the land of
Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight,
and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people
through whom we passed:
06-24:26 And
Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone,
and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.
06-24:32 And
the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel
of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an
hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of
Joseph.
07-1:1 Now
after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the
LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the
Canaanites first, to fight against them?
07-1:2 And
the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have
delivered the land into his hand.
07-1:3 And
Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with
me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will
go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him.
07-1:4 And
Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the
Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek
ten thousand men.
07-1:16 And
the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father in law, went up
out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of
Judah, which lieth in the south of
Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
07-1:22 And
the house of Joseph, they also went up against
Bethel: and the LORD was with them.
07-1:36 And
the coast of the Amorites was from
the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and
upward.
07-2:1 And
an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim,
and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and
have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I
will never break my covenant with you.
07-2:4 And
it came to pass, when the angel of the LORD spake these words unto all the
children of Israel, that the people lifted up
their voice, and wept.
07-2:16 Nevertheless
the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them
out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
07-2:18 And
when the LORD raised them up judges, then the
LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies
all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings
by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
07-3:9 And
when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who
delivered them, even Othniel the son
of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.
07-3:15 But
when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a
man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the
king of Moab.
07-4:5 And
she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount
Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to
her for judgment.
07-4:10 And
Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went
up with him.
07-4:12 And
they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
07-4:14 And
Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath
delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So
Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
07-6:3 And
so it was, when Israel had sown, that
the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and
the children of the east, even they came up
against them;
07-6:5 For
they came up with their cattle and their tents,
and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they
entered into the land to destroy it.
07-6:8 That
the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus
saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up
from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
07-6:13 And
Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this
befallen us? and where be all his
miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and
delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
07-6:21 Then
the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes;
and there rose up fire out of the rock, and
consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD
departed out of his sight.
07-6:35 And
he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him:
and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and
they came up to meet them.
07-6:38 And
it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow,
and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl
full of water.
07-7:1 Then
Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the
people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so
that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of
Moreh, in the valley.
07-8:8 And
he went up thence to Penuel, and spake unto them
likewise: and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered
him.
07-8:11 And
Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in
tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host: for the host was
secure.
07-8:13 And
Gideon the son of Joash returned from battle before the sun was up,
07-8:20 And
he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and slay them. But the youth drew not
his sword: for he feared, because he was yet
a youth.
07-8:28 Thus
was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the country was in
quietness forty years in the days of Gideon.
07-9:7 And
when they told it to Jotham, he went
and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up
his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem,
that God may hearken unto you.
07-9:18 And
ye are risen up against my father’s house this
day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have
made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem,
because he is your brother;)
07-9:32 Now
therefore up by night, thou and the people that is with thee, and lie in wait in the
field:
07-9:33 And
it shall be, that in the morning, as
soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early,
and set upon the city: and, behold, when he
and the people that is with him come
out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion.
07-9:34 And
Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by night, and they laid
wait against Shechem in four companies.
07-9:35 And
Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the
city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that
were with him, from lying in wait.
07-9:43 And
he took the people, and divided them into three companies, and laid wait in the
field, and looked, and, behold, the people were
come forth out of the city; and he rose up
against them, and smote them.
07-9:48 And
Abimelech gat him up to mount Zalmon, he and all
the people that were with him; and
Abimelech took an ax in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took
it, and laid it on his shoulder, and
said unto the people that were with
him, What ye have seen me do, make haste, and
do as I have done.
07-9:51 But
there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and
women, and all they of the city, and shut it
to them, and gat them up to the top of the
tower.
07-11:2 And
Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up,
and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our
father’s house; for thou art the son
of a strange woman.
07-11:13 And
the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah,
Because Israel took away my land, when they came up
out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore
restore those lands again peaceably.
07-11:16 But
when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked
through the wilderness unto the Red sea, and came to Kadesh;
07-11:31 Then
it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me,
when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD’S,
and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.
07-11:37 And
she said unto her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two
months, that I may go up and down upon the
mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my fellows.
07-12:3 And
when I saw that ye delivered me not,
I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and
the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
07-13:20 For
it came to pass, when the flame went up toward
heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of
the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
07-14:2 And
he came up, and told his father and his mother,
and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines:
now therefore get her for me to wife.
07-14:19 And
the spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew
thirty men of them, and took their spoil, and gave change of garments unto them
which expounded the riddle. And his anger was kindled, and he went up to his father’s house.
07-15:5 And
when he had set the brands on fire, he let them
go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the
vineyards and olives.
07-15:6 Then
the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in
law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his
companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt
her and her father with fire.
07-15:9 Then
the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah,
and spread themselves in Lehi.
07-15:10 And
the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up
against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.
07-15:13 And
they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee
into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two
new cords, and brought him up from the rock.
07-16:3 And
Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate
of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried
them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
07-16:5 And
the lords of the Philistines came up unto her,
and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict
him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
07-16:8 Then
the lords of the Philistines brought up to her
seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
07-16:18 And
when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for
the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up
this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the
Philistines came up unto her, and brought money
in their hand.
07-16:29 And
Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on
which it was borne up, of the one with his right
hand, and of the other with his left.
07-16:31 Then
his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and
brought him up,
and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his
father. And he judged Israel twenty years.
07-18:9 And
they said, Arise, that we may go up against
them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye
still? be not slothful to go, and to
enter to possess the land.
07-18:12 And
they went up, and pitched in Kirjathjearim, in
Judah: wherefore they called that place Mahanehdan unto this day: behold, it is behind Kirjathjearim.
07-18:17 And
the five men that went to spy out the land went up,
and came in thither, and took the graven image, and the
ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image: and the priest stood in the
entering of the gate with the six hundred men that were appointed with weapons of war.
07-18:30 And
the children of Dan set up the graven image: and
Jonathan, the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests
to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land.
07-18:31 And
they set them up Micah’s graven image, which he
made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.
07-19:5 And
it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that
he rose up to depart: and the damsel’s father
said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and
afterward go your way.
07-19:7 And
when the man rose up to depart, his father in
law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.
07-19:9 And
when the man rose up to depart, he, and his
concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel’s father, said unto
him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night:
behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry;
and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
07-19:10 But
the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up
and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with
him two asses saddled, his concubine also was
with him.
07-19:17 And
when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a
wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Whither goest
thou? and whence comest thou?
07-19:27 And
her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the
doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his
concubine was fallen down at the door
of the house, and her hands were upon
the threshold.
07-19:28 And
he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But
none answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and gat him unto his place.
07-19:30 And
it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from
the day that the children of Israel came up out
of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.
07-20:3 (Now
the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
07-20:9 But
now this shall be the thing which we
will do to Gibeah; we will go up by lot against it;
07-20:18 And
the children of Israel arose, and went up to the
house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of
Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall
go up first.
07-20:19 And
the children of Israel rose up in the morning,
and encamped against Gibeah.
07-20:23 (And
the children of Israel went up and wept before
the LORD until even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my
brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
07-20:26 Then
all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up,
and came unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted
that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the
LORD.
07-20:28 And
Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,)
saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my
brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up;
for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.
07-20:30 And
the children of Israel went up against the
children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against
Gibeah, as at other times.
07-20:31 And
the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the
people, and kill, as at other times,
in the highways, of which one goeth up to the
house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
07-20:33 And
all the men of Israel rose up out of their
place, and put themselves in array at Baaltamar: and the liers in wait of
Israel came forth out of their places, even
out of the meadows of Gibeah.
07-20:38 Now
there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait,
that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up
out of the city.
07-20:40 But
when the flame began to arise up out of the city
with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the
flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
07-21:2 And
the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before God, and
lifted up their voices, and wept sore;
07-21:5 And
the children of Israel said, Who is there
among all the tribes of Israel that came not up
with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning
him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh,
saying, He shall surely be put to death.
07-21:8 And
they said, What one is there of the
tribes of Israel that came not up to Mizpeh to
the LORD? And, behold, there came none to the camp from Jabeshgilead to the
assembly.
07-21:19 Then
they said, Behold, there is a feast
of the LORD in Shiloh yearly in a place which
is on the north side of Bethel, on
the east side of the highway that goeth up from
Bethel to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
08-1:9 The
LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of
you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.
08-1:14 And
they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and
Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
08-2:15 And
when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his
young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not:
08-2:18 And
she took it up,
and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned: and she
brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was sufficed.
08-3:14 And
she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up
before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman
came into the floor.
08-4:1 Then
went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down
there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said,
Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.
08-4:5 Then
said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife
of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead
upon his inheritance.
08-4:10 Moreover
Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to
raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance,
that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the
gate of his place: ye are witnesses
this day.
09-1:3 And
this man went up out of his city yearly to
worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of
Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.
09-1:5 But
unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had
shut up her womb.
09-1:6 And
her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD
had shut up her womb.
09-1:7 And
as he did so year by year, when she
went up to the house of the LORD, so she
provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.
09-1:9 So
Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh,
and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the
temple of the LORD.
09-1:19 And
they rose up in the morning early, and
worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and
Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.
09-1:21 And
the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to
offer unto the LORD the yearly sacrifice, and his vow.
09-1:22 But
Hannah went not up; for she said unto her
husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may
appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.
09-1:24 And
when she had weaned him, she took him up with
her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought
him unto the house of the LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.
09-2:6 The
LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
09-2:7 The
LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
09-2:8 He
raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up
the beggar from the dunghill, to set them
among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the
pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,
and he hath set the world upon them.
09-2:14 And
he struck it into the pan, or kettle,
or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up
the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh, unto all the Israelites
that came thither.
09-2:19 Moreover
his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up
with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
09-2:35 And
I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house;
and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
09-5:12 And
the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city
went up to heaven.
09-6:9 And
see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast
to Bethshemesh, then he hath done us this
great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote
us: it was a chance that happened to us.
09-6:10 And
the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home:
09-6:13 And
they of Bethshemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the
valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw
the ark, and rejoiced to see it.
09-6:20 And
the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God?
and to whom shall he go up from us?
09-6:21 And
they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The
Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, and fetch it up
to you.
09-7:1 And
the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up
the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and
sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
09-7:7 And
when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together
to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against
Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
09-7:10 And
as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering,
the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with
a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and
they were smitten before Israel.
09-8:8 According
to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they
have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
09-9:11 And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw
water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?
09-9:13 As
soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not
eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.
09-9:14 And
they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out
against them, for to go up to the high place.
09-9:19 And
Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the
seer: go up before me unto the high place; for
ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell
thee all that is in thine heart.
09-9:24 And
the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before
Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that
which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been
kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with
Samuel that day.
09-9:26 And
they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel
called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up,
that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he
and Samuel, abroad.
09-10:3 Then
shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of
Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up
to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of
bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:
09-10:18 And
said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the
hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you:
09-10:25 Then
Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up
before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.
09-11:1 Then
Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped
against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a
covenant with us, and we will serve thee.
09-11:4 Then
came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the ears of the
people: and all the people lifted up their
voices, and wept.
09-12:6 And
Samuel said unto the people, It is the
LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.
09-13:5 And
the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty
thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and
they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward
from Bethaven.
09-13:15 And
Samuel arose, and gat him up from Gilgal unto
Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men.
09-14:9 If
they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in
our place, and will not go up unto them.
09-14:10 But
if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will
go up: for the LORD hath delivered them into our
hand: and this shall be a sign unto
us.
09-14:12 And
the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will shew you a thing. And Jonathan
said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me:
for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.
09-14:13 And
Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his
feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his
armourbearer slew after him.
09-14:21 Moreover
the Hebrews that were with the
Philistines before that time, which went up with
them into the camp from the country round
about, even they also turned to be
with the Israelites that were with
Saul and Jonathan.
09-14:46 Then
Saul went up from following the Philistines: and
the Philistines went to their own place.
09-15:2 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which
Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for
him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
09-15:6 And
Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites,
lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of
Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the
Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
09-15:11 It
repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from
following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel;
and he cried unto the LORD all night.
09-15:12 And
when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying,
Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up
a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
09-15:34 Then
Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his
house to Gibeah of Saul.
09-16:13 Then
Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and
the spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
09-17:20 And
David rose up early in the morning, and left the
sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he
came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for
the battle.
09-17:23 And
as he talked with them, behold, there came up
the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the
Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them.
09-17:25 And
the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great
riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in
Israel.
09-19:15 And
Saul sent the messengers again to see
David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed,
that I may slay him.
09-20:38 And
Jonathan cried after the lad, Make speed, haste, stay not. And Jonathan’s lad
gathered up the arrows, and came to his master.
09-21:12 And
David laid up these words in his heart, and was
sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath.
09-22:8 That
all of you have conspired against me, and there
is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of
Jesse, and there is none of you that
is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this
day?
09-23:11 Will
the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand?
will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech
thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
09-23:12 Then
said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?
And the LORD said, They will deliver thee
up.
09-23:19 Then
came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying,
Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of
Hachilah, which is on the south of
Jeshimon?
09-23:29 And
David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong
holds at Engedi.
09-24:7 So
David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise
against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave,
and went on his way.
09-24:16 And
it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul,
that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my
son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and
wept.
09-24:22 And
David sware unto Saul. And Saul went home; but David and his men gat them up unto the hold.
09-25:5 And
David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my
name:
09-25:13 And
David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on
every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred
abode by the stuff.
09-25:35 So
David received of her hand that which
she had brought him, and said unto her, Go up in
peace to thine house; see, I have hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy
person.
09-26:19 Now
therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If
the LORD have stirred thee up against me, let
him accept an offering: but if they be the
children of men, cursed be they
before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the
inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.
09-27:8 And
David and his men went up, and invaded the
Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of
the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
09-28:8 And
Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with
him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto
me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him
up, whom I shall name unto thee.
09-28:11 Then
said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee?
And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
09-28:14 And
he said unto her, What form is he of?
And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul
perceived that it was Samuel, and he
stooped with his face to the ground,
and bowed himself.
09-28:15 And
Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the
Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me
no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that
thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
09-28:25 And
she brought it before Saul, and
before his servants; and they did eat. Then they rose up,
and went away that night.
09-29:9 And
Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the
princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up
with us to the battle.
09-29:10 Wherefore
now rise up early in the morning with thy
master’s servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.
09-29:11 So
David and his men rose up early to depart in the
morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
09-30:4 Then
David and the people that were with
him lifted up their voice and wept, until they
had no more power to weep.
10-2:1 And
it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go
up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD
said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither
shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.
10-2:2 So
David went up thither, and his two wives also,
Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal’s wife the Carmelite.
10-2:3 And
his men that were with him did David
bring up, every man with his household: and they
dwelt in the cities of Hebron.
10-2:22 And
Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should
I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up
my face to Joab thy brother?
10-2:27 And
Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou
hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.
10-2:32 And
they took up Asahel, and buried him in the
sepulchre of his father, which was in Bethlehem.
And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.
10-3:10 To
translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah,
from Dan even to Beersheba.
10-3:32 And
they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up
his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.
10-4:4 And
Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son that was lame
of his feet. He was five years old
when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took
him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she
made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
10-4:12 And
David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and
their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of
Ishbosheth, and buried it in the
sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
10-5:8 And
David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to
the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore
they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
10-5:17 But
when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all
the Philistines came up to seek David; and David
heard of it, and went down to the
hold.
10-5:19 And
David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up
to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said
unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver
the Philistines into thine hand.
10-5:22 And
the Philistines came up yet again, and spread
themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
10-5:23 And
when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch
a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
10-6:2 And
David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of
the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the
cherubims.
10-6:12 And
it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom,
and all that pertaineth unto him, because
of the ark of God. So David went and brought up
the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
10-6:15 So
David and all the house of Israel brought up the
ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
10-7:6 Whereas
I have not dwelt in any house since
the time that I brought up the children of
Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a
tabernacle.
10-7:12 And
when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy
bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
10-12:3 But
the poor man had nothing, save one
little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up:
and it grew up together with him, and with his
children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his
bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
10-12:11 Thus
saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil
against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine
eyes, and give them unto thy
neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
10-12:17 And
the elders of his house arose, and went to
him, to raise him up from the earth: but he
would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
10-13:29 And
the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the
king’s sons arose, and every man gat him up upon
his mule, and fled.
10-13:34 But
Absalom fled. And the young man that kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came much
people by the way of the hill side behind him.
10-13:36 And
it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of speaking, that, behold, the
king’s sons came, and lifted up their voice and
wept: and the king also and all his servants wept very sore.
10-14:14 For
we must needs die, and are as water
spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up
again; neither doth God respect any person:
yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
10-15:2 And
Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way
of the gate: and it was so, that when
any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom
called unto him, and said, Of what city art
thou? And he said, Thy servant is of
one of the tribes of Israel.
10-15:20 Whereas
thou camest but yesterday, should I
this day make thee go up and down with us?
seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and
truth be with thee.
10-15:24 And
lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with
him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God;
and Abiathar went up, until all the people had
done passing out of the city.
10-15:30 And
David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot:
and all the people that was with him
covered every man his head, and they went up,
weeping as they went up.
10-17:16 Now
therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains
of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.
10-17:21 And
it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and
said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath
Ahithophel counselled against you.
10-18:9 And
Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule
went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the
oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and
the earth; and the mule that was under
him went away.
10-18:18 Now
Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up
for himself a pillar, which is in the
king’s dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance: and he
called the pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day, Absalom’s
place.
10-18:24 And
David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up
to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up
his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.
10-18:28 And
Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the
earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up
the men that lifted up their hand against my
lord the king.
10-18:31 And,
behold, Cushi came; and Cushi said, Tidings, my lord the king: for the LORD
hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up
against thee.
10-18:33 And
the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber
over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my
son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!
10-19:34 And
Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live, that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem?
10-20:2 So
every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri:
but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
10-20:3 And
David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep
the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So
they were shut up unto the day of their death,
living in widowhood.
10-20:15 And
they came and besieged him in Abel of Bethmaachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the
trench: and all the people that were with
Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
10-20:19 I
am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to
destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?
10-20:20 And
Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.
10-20:21 The
matter is not so: but a man of mount
Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up
his hand against the king, even against
David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said
unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
10-21:6 Let
seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king
said, I will give them.
10-21:8 But
the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto
Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of
Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of
Barzillai the Meholathite:
10-21:13 And
he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and
the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were
hanged.
10-22:9 There
went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire
out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
10-22:40 For
thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
10-22:49 And
that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent
man.
10-23:1 Now
these be the last words of David.
David the son of Jesse said, and the man who
was raised up on high, the anointed of the
God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
10-23:8 These
be the names of the mighty men whom
David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the
same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up
his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
10-23:18 And
Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he
lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
10-24:9 And
Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people
unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that
drew the sword; and the men of Judah were
five hundred thousand men.
10-24:11 For
when David was up in the morning, the word of
the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,
10-24:18 And
Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up,
rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.
10-24:19 And
David, according to the saying of Gad, went up
as the LORD commanded.
10-24:22 And
Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good
unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt
sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other
instruments of the oxen for wood.
11-1:35 Then
ye shall come up after him, that he may come and
sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him
to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
11-1:40 And
all the people came up after him, and the people
piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the
sound of them.
11-1:45 And
Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and
they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that
the city rang again. This is the
noise that ye have heard.
11-1:49 And
all the guests that were with
Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went
every man his way.
11-2:19 Bathsheba
therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king
rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her,
and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king’s mother;
and she sat on his right hand.
11-2:34 So
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell
upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.
11-3:15 And
Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a
dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of
the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and
offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
11-6:8 The
door for the middle chamber was in
the right side of the house: and they went up
with winding stairs into the middle chamber,
and out of the middle into the third.
11-7:21 And
he set up the pillars in the porch of the
temple: and he set up the right pillar, and
called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up
the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.
11-8:1 Then
Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the
chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem,
that they might bring up the ark of the covenant
of the LORD out of the city of David, which is
Zion.
11-8:3 And
all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up
the ark.
11-8:4 And
they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the
tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did
the priests and the Levites bring up.
11-8:20 And
the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the
throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of
the LORD God of Israel.
11-8:35 When
heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because
they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy
name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
11-8:54 And
it was so, that when Solomon had made
an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from
before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
11-9:16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain
the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
11-9:24 But
Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of
David unto her house which Solomon had
built for her: then did he build Millo.
11-10:5 And
the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of
his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which
he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was
no more spirit in her.
11-10:29 And
a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six
hundred shekels of silver, and an
horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and
for the kings of Syria, did they bring them
out by their means.
11-11:14 And
the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon,
Hadad the Edomite: he was of the
king’s seed in Edom.
11-11:15 For
it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was
gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten
every male in Edom;
11-11:23 And
God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his
lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
11-11:26 And
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose
mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow
woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.
11-11:27 And
this was the cause that he lifted up his hand
against the king: Solomon built Millo, and
repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.
11-12:8 But
he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted
with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:
11-12:10 And
the young men that were grown up with him spake
unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee,
saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s
loins.
11-12:18 Then
king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over
the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore
king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his
chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
11-12:24 Thus
saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight
against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for
this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and
returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.
11-12:27 If
this people go up to do sacrifice in the house
of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto
their lord, even unto Rehoboam king
of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.
11-12:28 Whereupon
the king took counsel, and made two calves of
gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which
brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
11-13:4 And
it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which
had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the
altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him,
dried up, so that he could not pull it in again
to him.
11-13:29 And
the prophet took up the carcase of the man of
God, and laid it upon the ass, and brought it back: and the old prophet came to
the city, to mourn and to bury him.
11-14:10 Therefore,
behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from
Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and
him that is shut up and left in Israel, and
will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung,
till it be all gone.
11-14:14 Moreover
the LORD shall raise him up a king over Israel,
who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.
11-14:15 For
the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall
root up Israel out of this good land, which he
gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they
have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.
11-14:16 And
he shall give Israel up because of the sins of
Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.
11-14:25 And
it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up
against Jerusalem:
11-15:4 Nevertheless
for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
11-15:17 And
Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and
built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of
Judah.
11-16:17 And
Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with
him, and they besieged Tirzah.
11-16:32 And
he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of
Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
11-16:34 In
his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof
in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates
thereof in his youngest son Segub,
according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
11-17:7 And
it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up,
because there had been no rain in the land.
11-17:19 And
he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and
carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and
laid him upon his own bed.
11-18:38 Then
the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and
the stones, and the dust, and licked up the
water that was in the trench.
11-18:41 And
Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and
drink; for there is a sound of
abundance of rain.
11-18:42 So
Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah
went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast
himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
11-18:43 And
said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the
sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again
seven times.
11-18:44 And
it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little
cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
11-18:46 And
the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up
his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
11-20:1 And
Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with
him, and horses, and chariots: and he went up
and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.
11-20:22 And
the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen
thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the
king of Syria will come up against thee.
11-20:26 And
it came to pass at the return of the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians,
and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.
11-20:33 Now
the men did diligently observe whether any
thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Benhadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring
him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
11-21:16 And
it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the
Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
11-21:21 Behold,
I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off
from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,
11-21:25 But
there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the
sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
11-22:6 Then
the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and
said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear?
And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver
it into the hand of the king.
11-22:12 And
all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to
Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king’s hand.
11-22:20 And
the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up
and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that
manner.
11-22:29 So
the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
11-22:35 And
the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up
in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of
the wound into the midst of the chariot.
11-22:38 And
one washed the chariot in the pool of
Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and
they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.
12-1:3 But
the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and
say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the
god of Ekron?
12-1:4 Now
therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which
thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And
Elijah departed.
12-1:6 And
they said unto him, There came a man up to meet
us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto
him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not
because there is not a God in Israel,
that thou sendest to enquire of
Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on
which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
12-1:7 And
he said unto them, What manner of man was
he which came up to meet you, and told you
these words?
12-1:9 Then
the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill.
And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.
12-1:13 And
he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third
captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on
his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I
pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious
in thy sight.
12-1:14 Behold,
there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up
the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my
life now be precious in thy sight.
12-1:16 And
he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers
to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is
it not because there is no God in
Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed
on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
12-2:1 And
it came to pass, when the LORD would take up
Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
12-2:11 And
it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and
horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12-2:13 He
took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from
him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
12-2:16 And
they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men;
let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the spirit of
the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon
some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
12-2:23 And
he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he
was going up by the way, there came forth little
children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up,
thou bald head.
12-3:7 And
he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab
hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he
said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people
as thy people, and my horses as thy
horses.
12-3:8 And
he said, Which way shall we go up? And he
answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.
12-3:21 And
when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up
to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and
upward, and stood in the border.
12-3:22 And
they rose up early in the morning, and the sun
shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
12-3:24 And
when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before
them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country.
12-4:21 And
she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man
of God, and shut the door upon him,
and went out.
12-4:29 Then
he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take
my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not;
and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of
the child.
12-4:34 And
he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his
mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands:
and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.
12-4:35 Then
he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child
sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
12-4:36 And
he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when
she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy
son.
12-4:37 Then
she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.
12-6:7 Therefore
said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.
12-6:24 And
it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host,
and went up, and besieged Samaria.
12-7:5 And
they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the
camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp
of Syria, behold, there was no man
there.
12-8:12 And
Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that
thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on
fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their
children, and rip up their women with child.
12-9:1 And
Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto
him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil
in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:
12-9:2 And
when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of
Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from
among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;
12-9:8 For
the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that
pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up
and left in Israel:
12-9:25 Then
said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take
up, and cast
him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how
that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this
burden upon him;
12-9:27 But
when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he
fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said,
Smite him also in the chariot. And they
did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo,
and died there.
12-9:32 And
he lifted up his face to the window, and said,
Who is on my side? who? And there
looked out to him two or three
eunuchs.
12-10:1 And
Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria,
unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s children,
saying,
12-10:5 And
he that was over the house, and he
that was over the city, the elders
also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will
not make any king: do thou that which is good
in thine eyes.
12-10:6 Then
he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will
hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master’s sons, and
come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city,
which brought them up.
12-10:15 And
when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him,

it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that
the king’s scribe and the high priest came up,
and they put up in bags, and told the money that
was found in the house of the LORD.

Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against
Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up
to Jerusalem.

it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the
sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of
Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of
this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
12-14:11 But
Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one
another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth
to Judah.
12-14:26 For
the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that
it was very bitter: for there was not
any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for
Israel.
12-15:14 For
Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and
came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him,
and reigned in his stead.
12-15:16 Then
Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein,
and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were
with child he ripped up.
12-16:5 Then
Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but
could not overcome him.
12-16:7 So
Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria,
and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up
against me.
12-16:9 And
the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and
slew Rezin.
12-17:3 Against
him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and
Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
12-17:4 And
the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to
So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the
king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in
prison.
12-17:5 Then
the king of Assyria came up throughout all the
land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it
three years.
12-17:7 For
so it was, that the children of
Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
12-17:10 And
they set them up images and groves in every high
hill, and under every green tree:
12-17:36 But
the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of
Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him
shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
12-18:9 And
it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.
12-18:13 Now
in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took
them.
12-18:17 And
the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to king
Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper
pool, which is in the highway of the
fuller’s field.
12-18:25 Am
I now come up without the LORD against this
place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up
against this land, and destroy it.
12-19:4 It
may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of
Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the
words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the
remnant that are left.
12-19:14 And
Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and
Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and
spread it before the LORD.
12-19:22 Whom
hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of
Israel.
12-19:23 By
thy messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude
of my chariots I am come up to the height of the
mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees
thereof, and the choice fir trees
thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
12-19:24 I
have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried
up all the rivers of besieged places.
12-19:26 Therefore
their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they
were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
12-19:28 Because
thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up
into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy
lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
12-20:5 Turn
again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God
of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I
will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up
unto the house of the LORD.
12-20:8 And
Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the
sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up
into the house of the LORD the third day?
12-20:17 Behold,
the days come, that all that is in
thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up
in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left,
saith the LORD.
12-21:3 For
he built up again the high places which Hezekiah
his father had destroyed; and he reared up
altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped
all the host of heaven, and served them.
12-22:4 Go
up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum
the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of
the door have gathered of the people:
12-23:2 And
the king went up into the house of the LORD, and
all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the
priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he
read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in
the house of the LORD.
12-23:9 Nevertheless
the priests of the high places came not up to
the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they did eat of the unleavened bread
among their brethren.
12-23:29 In
his days Pharaohnechoh king of Egypt went up
against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates: and king Josiah went
against him; and he slew him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.
12-24:1 In
his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up,
and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled
against him.
12-24:10 At
that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
12-25:4 And
the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate
between two walls, which is by the
king’s garden: (now the Chaldees were against
the city round about:) and the king went
the way toward the plain.
12-25:6 So
they took the king, and brought him up to the
king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.
12-25:27 And
it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin
king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to
reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of
Judah out of prison;
13-5:26 And
the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul
king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he
carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of
Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river
Gozan, unto this day.
13-11:6 And
David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.
So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and
was chief.
13-11:11 And
this is the number of the mighty men
whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.
13-11:20 And
Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.
13-13:6 And
David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is
called on it.
13-14:2 And
David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his
kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his
people Israel.
13-14:8 And
when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all
the Philistines went up to seek David. And David
heard of it, and went out against
them.
13-14:10 And
David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up
against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the
LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver
them into thine hand.
13-14:11 So
they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote
them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand
like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place
Baalperazim.
13-14:14 Therefore
David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them
over against the mulberry trees.
13-15:3 And
David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had
prepared for it.
13-15:12 And
said unto them, Ye are the chief of
the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13-15:14 So
the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.
13-15:16 And
David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of
musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
13-15:25 So
David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring
up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of
the house of Obededom with joy.
13-15:28 Thus
all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of
the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and
with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
13-17:5 For
I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to
tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
13-17:11 And
it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will
raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of
thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
13-21:1 And
Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked
David to number Israel.
13-21:16 And
David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of
the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his
hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in
sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
13-21:18 Then
the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar
unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
13-21:19 And
David went up at the saying of Gad, which he
spake in the name of the LORD.
13-21:27 And
the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his
sword again into the sheath thereof.
13-25:5 All
these were the sons of Heman the
king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the
horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
13-26:16 To
Shuppim and Hosah the lot came forth westward,
with the gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.
13-28:2 Then
David the king stood up upon his feet, and said,
Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As
for me, I had in mine heart to
build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the
footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
14-1:4 But
the ark of God had David brought up from
Kirjathjearim to the place which David
had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
14-1:6 And
Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before
the LORD, which was at the tabernacle
of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
14-1:17 And
they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt
a chariot for six hundred shekels of
silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the
Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.
14-2:16 And
we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring
it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.
14-3:17 And
he reared up the pillars before the temple, one
on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on
the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
14-5:2 Then
Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the
chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city
of David, which is Zion.
14-5:4 And
all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up
the ark.
14-5:5 And
they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of
the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.
14-5:13 It
came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking
the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and
cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good;
for his mercy endureth for ever: that
then the house was filled with a
cloud, even the house of the LORD;
14-6:10 The
LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the
throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name
of the LORD God of Israel.
14-6:26 When
the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain,
because they have sinned against thee; yet
if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their
sin, when thou dost afflict them;
14-7:13 If
I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I
command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my
people;
14-7:20 Then
will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land
which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name,
will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
14-8:11 And
Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out
of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My
wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark
of the LORD hath come.
14-9:4 And
the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of
his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and
his ascent by which he went up into the house of
the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
14-10:8 But
he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the
young men that were brought up with him, that
stood before him.
14-10:10 And
the young men that were brought up with him
spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee,
saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My
little finger shall be thicker than
my father’s loins.
14-10:18 Then
king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over
the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died.
But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
14-11:4 Thus
saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight
against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of
me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against
Jeroboam.
14-12:2 And
it came to pass, that in the fifth
year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up
against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,
14-12:9 So
Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem,
and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s
house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had
made.
14-13:4 And
Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me,
thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;
14-13:6 Yet
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
14-16:1 In
the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that
he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
14-17:6 And
his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD:
moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.
14-18:2 And
after certain years he went down to
Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for
the people that he had with him, and
persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.
14-18:5 Therefore
the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said
unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they
said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.
14-18:11 And
all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to
Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
14-18:14 And
when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to
Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your
hand.
14-18:19 And
the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying
after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
14-18:28 So
the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
14-18:34 And
the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up
in his chariot against the Syrians
until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
14-20:16 To
morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up
by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the
wilderness of Jeruel.
14-20:19 And
the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the
Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of
Israel with a loud voice on high.
14-20:23 For
the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against
the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir,
every one helped to destroy another.
14-21:4 Now
when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his
father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
14-21:9 Then
Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose
up by night, and smote the Edomites which
compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
14-21:16 Moreover
the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit
of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
14-21:17 And
they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and
carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons
also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the
youngest of his sons.
14-24:7 For
the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up
the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD
did they bestow upon Baalim.
14-24:23 And
it came to pass at the end of the year, that
the host of Syria came up against him: and they
came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from
among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.
14-25:14 Now
it came to pass, after that Amaziah was come from the slaughter of the
Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his
gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense unto them.
14-25:19 Thou
sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou
meddle to thine hurt, that thou
shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah
with thee?
14-25:21 So
Joash the king of Israel went up; and they saw
one another in the face, both he and
Amaziah king of Judah, at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
14-26:16 But
when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed
against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense
upon the altar of incense.
14-26:19 Then
Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in
his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy
even rose up in his forehead before the priests
in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
14-28:9 But
a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was
Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto
them, Behold, because the LORD God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he
hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage that reacheth up
unto heaven.
14-28:12 Then
certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan,
Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa
the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that
came from the war,
14-28:15 And
the men which were expressed by name rose up,
and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among
them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and
anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them
to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to
Samaria.
14-28:24 And
Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the
vessels of the house of God, and shut up the
doors of the house of the LORD, and he made him altars in every corner of
Jerusalem.
14-29:7 Also
they have shut up the doors of the porch, and
put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in
the holy place unto the God of
Israel.
14-29:20 Then
Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.
14-30:7 And
be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against
the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore
gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
14-30:27 Then
the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was
heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.
14-32:5 Also
he strengthened himself, and built up all the
wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and
repaired Millo in the city of David,
and made darts and shields in abundance.
14-32:25 But
Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up:
therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.
14-33:3 For
he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and
he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves,
and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
14-33:14 Now
after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of
Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed
about Ophel, and raised it up a very great
height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
14-33:19 His
prayer also, and how God was
intreated of him, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places wherein he
built high places, and set up groves and graven
images, before he was humbled: behold, they are
written among the sayings of the seers.
14-34:30 And
the king went up into the house of the LORD, and
all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and
the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all
the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD.
14-35:20 After
all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Charchemish by Euphrates: and
Josiah went out against him.
14-36:6 Against
him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and
bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
14-36:15 And
the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on
his people, and on his dwelling place:
14-36:22 Now
in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be
accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of
Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom,
and put it also in writing, saying,
14-36:23 Thus
saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of
heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem,
which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people?
The LORD his God be with him, and let
him go up.
15-1:1 Now
in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the
mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up
the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all
his kingdom, and put it also in
writing, saying,
15-1:3 Who
is there among you of all his people?
his God be with him, and let him go up to
Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and
build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in
Jerusalem.
15-1:5 Then
rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and
Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up
to build the house of the LORD which is in
Jerusalem.
15-1:11 All
the vessels of gold and of silver were five
thousand and four hundred. All these did
Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up
from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
15-2:1 Now
these are the children of the
province that went up out of the captivity, of
those which had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had
carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one
unto his city;
15-2:59 And
these were they which went up from Telmelah, Telharsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their

till there stood up a priest with Urim and with
Thummim.
15-2:68 And
some of the chief of the fathers,
when they came to the house of the LORD which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:
15-3:2 Then
stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his
brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren,
and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon,
as it is written in the law of Moses
the man of God.
15-4:2 Then
they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them,
Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king
of Assur, which brought us up hither.
15-4:12 Be
it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up
from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the bad
city, and have set up the walls thereof, and joined the foundations.
15-4:13 Be
it known now unto the king, that, if this city be builded, and the walls set up again, then will
they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and so
thou shalt endamage the revenue of the kings.
15-4:16 We
certify the king that, if this city be builded again, and the walls thereof set up,
by this means thou shalt have no portion on this side the river.
15-4:23 Now
when the copy of king Artaxerxes’ letter was
read before Rehum, and Shimshai the scribe, and their companions, they went
up in haste to Jerusalem unto the Jews, and made
them to cease by force and power.
15-5:2 Then
rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and
Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them.
15-5:3 At
the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and
Shetharboznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath
commanded you to build this house, and to make up
this wall?
15-5:9 Then
asked we those elders, and said unto
them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls?
15-5:11 And
thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven
and earth, and build the house that was builded these many years ago, which a
great king of Israel builded and set up.
15-6:1 Then
Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls,
where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
15-6:11 Also
I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be
pulled down from his house, and being set up,
let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
15-7:6 This
Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses,
which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his
request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
15-7:7 And
there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the
Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem,
in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
15-7:9 For
upon the first day of the first month
began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first
day of the fifth month came he to
Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
15-7:13 I
make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their
own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with
thee.
15-7:28 And
hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before
all the king’s mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD
my God was upon me, and I gathered
together out of Israel chief men to go up with
me.
15-8:1 These
are now the chief of their fathers,
and this is the genealogy of them
that went up with me from Babylon, in the reign
of Artaxerxes the king.
15-9:5 And
at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my
heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and
spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,
15-9:6 And
said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up
my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.
15-9:9 For
we were bondmen; yet our God hath not
forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the
kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up
the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a
wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
15-10:6 Then
Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and
went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he
mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.
15-10:10 And
Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye
have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of
Israel.
16-2:1 And
it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the
king, that wine was before him: and I took up the
wine, and gave it unto the king. Now
I had not been beforetime sad in his
presence.
16-2:15 Then
went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed
the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned.
16-2:17 Then
said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste,
and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a
reproach.
16-2:18 Then
I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s
words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.
16-3:1 Then
Eliashib the high priest rose up with his
brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and
set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of
Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
16-3:3 But
the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up
the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
16-3:6 Moreover
the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of
Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up
the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
16-3:13 The
valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and
set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and
the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
16-3:14 But
the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of
Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors
thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
16-3:15 But
the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of
part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up
the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the
pool of Siloah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the
city of David.
16-3:19 And
next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece
over against the going up to the armoury at the
turning of the wall.
16-3:31 After
him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and
of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.
16-3:32 And
between the going up of the corner unto the
sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
16-4:3 Now
Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and
he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up,
he shall even break down their stone wall.
16-4:7 But
it came to pass, that when Sanballat,
and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that
the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be
stopped, then they were very wroth,
16-4:14 And
I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles,
and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them:
remember the Lord, which is great and
terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your
wives, and your houses.
16-5:2 For
there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.
16-6:1 Now
it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest
of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had
not set up the doors upon the gates;)
16-6:10 Afterward
I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who
was shut up;
and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and
let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in
the night will they come to slay thee.
16-7:1 Now
it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were
appointed,
16-7:5 And
my God put into mine heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and
the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of
the genealogy of them which came up at the
first, and found written therein,
16-7:6 These
are the children of the province,
that went up out of the captivity, of those that
had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried
away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city;
16-7:61 And
these were they which went up also from
Telmelah, Telharesha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer: but they could not shew their
father’s house, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel.
16-7:65 And
the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things,
till there stood up
a priest with Urim and Thummim.
16-8:5 And
Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the
people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:
16-8:6 And
Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen,
with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their
heads, and worshipped the LORD with their
faces to the ground.
16-9:3 And
they stood up in their place, and read in the
book of the law of the LORD their God one
fourth part of the day; and another fourth
part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.
16-9:4 Then
stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites,
Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice
unto the LORD their God.
16-9:5 Then
the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah,
Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand
up and bless
the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is
exalted above all blessing and praise.
16-9:18 Yea,
when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out
of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;
16-10:38 And
the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take
tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe
of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure
house.
16-12:1 Now
these are the priests and the Levites
that went up with Zerubbabel the son of
Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
16-12:31 Then
I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall,
and appointed two great companies of them
that gave thanks, whereof one went
on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:
16-12:37 And
at the fountain gate, which was over against them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto
the water gate eastward.
17-2:7 And
he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she
had neither father nor mother, and the maid was
fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead,
took for his own daughter.
17-2:20 Esther
had not yet shewed her kindred nor her
people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of
Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with
him.
17-5:9 Then
went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw
Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up,
nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.
17-7:7 And
the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen;
for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.
18-1:5 And
it was so, when the days of their feasting
were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for
Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.
Thus did Job continually.
18-1:7 And
the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and
said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
18-1:16 While
he was yet speaking, there came also
another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and
I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
18-2:2 And
the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD,
and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
18-2:12 And
when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and
knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and
wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads
toward heaven.
18-3:8 Let
them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
18-3:10 Because
it shut not up the doors of my mother’s womb, nor hid sorrow from mine
eyes.
18-3:11 Why
died I not from the womb? why did I not give up
the ghost when I came out of the belly?
18-4:15 Then
a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:
18-5:5 Whose
harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even
out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up
their substance.
18-5:11 To
set up on high those that be low; that those
which mourn may be exalted to safety.
18-5:18 For
he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and
his hands make whole.
18-6:3 For
now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my words are
swallowed up.
18-6:4 For
the arrows of the Almighty are within
me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit:
the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
18-7:9 As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth
away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up
no more.
18-8:11 Can
the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow
without water?
18-9:7 Which
commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up
the stars.
18-10:15 If
I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be
righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am
full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;
18-10:18 Wherefore
then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!
18-11:10 If
he cut off, and shut up, or gather together,
then who can hinder him?
18-11:15 For
then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot;
yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
18-11:20 But
the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
18-12:14 Behold,
he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
18-12:15 Behold,
he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also
he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
18-13:19 Who
is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give
up the ghost.
18-14:10 But
man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up
the ghost, and where is he?
18-14:11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the
flood decayeth and drieth up:
18-14:17 My
transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up
mine iniquity.
18-15:30 He
shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up
his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
18-16:4 I
also could speak as ye do: if your
soul were in my soul’s stead, I could heap up
words against you, and shake mine head at you.
18-16:8 And
thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is
a witness against me: and my leanness
rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
18-16:12 I
was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces,
and set me up for his mark.
18-17:8 Upright
men shall be astonied at this, and
the innocent shall stir up himself against the
hypocrite.
18-18:16 His
roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall
his branch be cut off.
18-19:8 He
hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he
hath set darkness in my paths.

troops come together, and raise up their way
against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head
reach unto the clouds;

hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up
again: God shall cast them out of his belly.

heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
18-21:19 God
layeth up his iniquity for his children: he
rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
18-22:22 Receive,
I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up
his words in thine heart.

thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up,

after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which
put their trust in thee from those
that rise up against
them.

went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire
out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
19-18:35 Thou
hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden
me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
19-18:39 For
thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me
those that rose up against me.
19-18:48 He
delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up
above those that rise up against me: thou hast
delivered me from the violent man.
19-20:5 We
will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:
the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.

shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall
swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall
devour them.

strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my
tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall
come in.

the wicked, even mine enemies and my

in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his

works which thou hast done, and thy
thoughts which are to us-ward: they
cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be
numbered.
19-40:12 For
innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon
me, so that I am not able to look up; they are
more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

is no soundness in it; but wounds,

far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall

it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king
of Judah, that Rezin the king of

make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:

therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon
them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
23-8:16 Bind
up the testimony, seal the law among my
disciples.
23-9:11 Therefore
the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin
against him, and join his enemies together;
23-9:18 For
wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and
shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting
up of smoke.
23-10:15 Shall
the ax boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if
the rod should shake itself against
them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.

thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not
afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for
him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up
after the manner of Egypt.

is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:

are gone over the passage: they have taken up
their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to
be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.
23-11:12 And
he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and
shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of
Judah from the four corners of the earth.
23-11:16 And
there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left,
from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
23-13:2 Lift
ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the
voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
23-13:14 And
it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and
flee every one into his own land.
23-13:17 Behold,
I will stir up the Medes against them, which
shall not regard silver; and as for gold,
they shall not delight in it.

thou shalt take up this proverb against the king
of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the
cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou

from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee
at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for
thee, even all the chief ones of the
earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all
the kings of the nations.
23-14:22 For
I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of
hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew,
saith the LORD.
23-15:2 He
is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high
places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads
shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.
23-15:5 My
heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall
flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
23-15:7 Therefore
the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away to the brook of the willows.
23-18:3 All
ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth
up an ensign on the mountains; and when he
bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
23-19:5 And
the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
23-19:6 And
they shall turn the rivers far away; and the
brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up:
the reeds and flags shall wither.
23-21:2 A
grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth
treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up,
O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
23-22:1 The
burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone
up to the housetops?
23-23:4 Be
thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring
forth children, neither do I nourish up young
men, nor bring up virgins.
23-23:13 Behold
the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness:
they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.
23-23:18 And
her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be
treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall
be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable
clothing.
23-24:10 The
city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up,
that no man may come in.
23-24:14 They
shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for
the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea.
23-24:18 And
it shall come to pass, that he who
fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the
snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth
do shake.
23-24:22 And
they shall be gathered together, as prisoners
are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in
the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
23-25:8 He
will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord
GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall
he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
23-26:11 LORD,
when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall
devour them.
23-27:9 By
this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin;
when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in
sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.
23-28:4 And
the glorious beauty, which is on the
head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth,
while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
23-28:7 But
they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way;
the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong
drink; they err in vision, they stumble in
judgment.
23-28:21 For
the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work;
and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
23-30:26 Moreover
the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the
sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD
bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth
the stroke of their wound.
23-32:9 Rise
up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye
careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.
23-32:13 Upon
the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of
joy in the joyous city:
23-33:3 At
the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
23-34:13 And
thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and
brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.
23-35:9 No
lion shall be there, nor any ravenous
beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found
there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
23-36:1 Now
it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up
against all the defenced cities of Judah, and took them.
23-36:10 And
am I now come up without the LORD against this
land to destroy it? the LORD said unto me, Go up
against this land, and destroy it.
23-37:4 It
may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of
Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the
words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the
remnant that is left.
23-37:14 And
Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and
Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and
spread it before the LORD.
23-37:23 Whom
hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
23-37:24 By
thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of
my chariots am I come up to the height of the
mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars
thereof, and the choice fir trees
thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.
23-37:25 I
have digged, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.
23-37:27 Therefore
their inhabitants were of small
power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as
the green herb, as the grass on
the housetops, and as corn blasted
before it be grown up.
23-37:29 Because
thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up
into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy
lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
23-38:22 Hezekiah
also had said, What is the sign that
I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
23-39:6 Behold,
the days come, that all that is in
thine house, and that which thy
fathers have laid up in store until this day,
shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
23-40:9 O
Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up
into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the
cities of Judah, Behold your God!
23-40:15 Behold,
the nations are as a drop of a
bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
23-40:26 Lift
up your eyes on high, and behold who hath
created these things, that bringeth
out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his
might, for that he is strong in
power; not one faileth.
23-40:31 But
they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings as
eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and
they shall walk, and not faint.
23-41:2 Who
raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before
him, and made him rule over kings? he
gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
23-41:25 I
have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun
shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth
clay.
23-42:2 He
shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice
to be heard in the street.
23-42:11 Let
the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the
inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
23-42:13 The
LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up
jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against
his enemies.
23-42:15 I
will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up
all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
23-43:6 I
will say to the north, Give up; and to the
south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of
the earth;
23-44:4 And
they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
23-44:11 Behold,
all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they
shall fear, and they shall be ashamed
together.
23-44:26 That
confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his
messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities
of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up
the decayed places thereof:
23-44:27 That
saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy
rivers:
23-45:8 Drop
down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let
the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness
spring up together; I the LORD have created it.
23-45:13 I
have raised him up in righteousness, and I will
direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not
for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.
