31-OBADIAH
31-1:3 The
pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of
the rock, whose habitation is high;
that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to
the ground?
31-1:5 If
thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how
art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the
grapegatherers came to thee, would they not
leave some grapes?
31-1:7 All
the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that
were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and
prevailed against thee; they that eat
thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there
is none understanding in him.
31-1:9 And
thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be
dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount
of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
31-1:14 Neither
shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to
cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up
those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
31-1:21 And
saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge
the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
32-JONAH
32-1:2 Arise,
go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against
it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
32-1:3 But
Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the
presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa;
and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he
paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to
go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
32-1:4 But
the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in
the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
32-1:5 Then
the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the
wares that were in the ship into the
sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and
he lay, and was fast asleep.
32-1:6 So
the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him,
What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will
think upon us, that we perish not.
32-1:7 And
they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let
us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
32-1:13 Nevertheless
the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not:
for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.
32-1:17 Now
the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up
Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
32-2:5 The
waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the
weeds were wrapped about my head.
32-2:6 I
went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the
earth with her bars was about me for
ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
32-3:3 So
Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to
the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’
journey.
32-3:4 And
Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s
journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be
overthrown.
32-3:5 So
the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on
sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the
least of them.
32-3:7 And
he caused it to
be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his
nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let
them not feed, nor drink water:
32-4:2 And
he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I
fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to
anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
32-4:3 Therefore
now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
32-4:4 Then
said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry?
32-4:6 And
the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it
to come up over Jonah, that it might be a
shadow over his head, to deliver him from his
grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.
32-4:8 And
it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that
God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah,
that he fainted, and wished in himself to die,
and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
32-4:9 And
God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even
unto death.
33-MICAH
33-1:1 The
word of the LORD that came to Micah the
Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and
Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
33-1:7 And
all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to
pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the
idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.
33-1:9 For
her wound is incurable; for it is
come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
33-1:13 O
thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to
the swift beast: she is the beginning
of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the
transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
33-1:14 Therefore
shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the
houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.
33-2:1 Woe
to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon
their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the
power of their hand.
33-2:6 Prophesy
ye not, say they to
them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to
them, that they shall not take shame.
33-2:7 O
thou that art named the house of
Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
33-3:1 And
I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of
Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?
33-3:8 But
truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of
might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression,
and to Israel his sin.
33-4:1 But
in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the
LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted
above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
33-4:2 And
many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us
of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion,
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
33-4:8 And
thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee
shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
33-4:10 Be
in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter
of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city,
and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be
delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
33-5:2 But
thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou
be little among the thousands of Judah, yet
out of thee shall he come forth unto me that
is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth
have been from of old, from
everlasting.
33-5:10 And
it shall come to pass in that day, saith the
LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will
destroy thy chariots:
33-6:8 He
hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to
do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
33-6:14 Thou
shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt
not deliver; and that which thou
deliverest will I give up to the sword.
33-7:1 Woe
is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the
grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no
cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe
fruit.
33-7:9 I
will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until
he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and
I shall behold his righteousness.
33-7:11 In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that
day shall the decree be far removed.
33-7:12 In that day also he shall come even to thee from
Assyria, and from the fortified
cities, and from the fortress even to the river,
and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
33-7:15 According
to the days of thy coming out of the land of
Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.
33-7:20 Thou
wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to
Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
34-NAHUM
34-1:3 The
LORD is slow to
anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the
storm, and the clouds are the dust of
his feet.
34-2:5 He
shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make
haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall
be prepared.
34-3:1 Woe
to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery;
the prey departeth not;
34-3:7 And
it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say,
Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for
thee?
35-HABAKKUK
35-1:3 Why
dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.
35-1:6 For,
lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter
and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.
35-1:8 Their
horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening
wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall
come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that
hasteth to eat.
35-1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity:
wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
35-1:17 Shall
they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
35-2:1 I
will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall
answer when I am reproved.
35-2:6 Shall
not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against
him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
35-2:9 Woe
to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that
he may be delivered from the power of evil!
35-2:10 Thou
hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off
many people, and hast sinned against thy
soul.
35-2:12 Woe
to him that buildeth a town with blood, and
stablisheth a city by iniquity!
35-2:15 Woe
unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and
makest him drunken also, that thou
mayest look on their nakedness!
35-2:18 What
profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten
image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
35-2:19 Woe
unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst
of it.
35-3:9 Thy
bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.
35-3:14 Thou
didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as
a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to
devour the poor secretly.
35-3:19 The
LORD God is my strength, and he will
make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he
will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
36-ZEPHANIAH
36-1:8 And
it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD’S
sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all
such as are clothed with strange apparel.
36-1:10 And
it shall come to pass in that day, saith the
LORD, that there shall be the noise
of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great
crashing from the hills.
36-1:12 And
it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with
candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their
heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.
36-1:18 Neither
their silver nor their gold shall be able to
deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be
devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance
of all them that dwell in the land.
36-2:15 This
is the rejoicing city that dwelt
carelessly, that said in her heart, I am,
and there is none beside me: how
is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to
lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
36-3:1 Woe
to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
36-3:2 She
obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD;
she drew not near to her God.
36-3:4 Her
prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests
have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to
the law.
36-3:5 The
just LORD is in the midst thereof; he
will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no
shame.
36-3:8 Therefore
wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may
assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce
anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
36-3:9 For
then will I turn to the people a pure language,
that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to
serve him with one consent.
36-3:16 In
that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear
thou not: and to
Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
36-3:18 I
will gather them that are sorrowful
for the solemn assembly, who are of
thee, to whom
the reproach of it was a burden.
36-3:19 Behold,
at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that
halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and
fame in every land where they have been put to
shame.
37-HAGGAI
37-1:1 In
the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the
month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of
Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the
son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
37-1:4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
37-1:6 Ye
have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink,
but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he
that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
37-1:8 Go
up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build
the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the
LORD.
37-1:9 Ye
looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because
of mine house that is waste, and ye run
every man unto his own house.
37-2:2 Speak
now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor
of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the
high priest, and to the residue of the people,
saying,
37-2:5 According to the
word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit
remaineth among you: fear ye not.
37-2:16 Since
those days were, when one came to
an heap of twenty measures, there
were but ten: when one came to
the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
37-2:17 I
smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of
your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.
37-2:21 Speak
to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will
shake the heavens and the earth;
38-ZECHARIAH
38-1:6 But
my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they
not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts
thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to
our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
38-1:10 And
the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro
through the earth.
38-1:11 And
they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and
said, We have walked to and fro through the
earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
38-1:16 Therefore
thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem
with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a
line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
38-1:21 Then
said I, What come these to do? And he spake,
saying, These are the horns which
have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast
out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to
scatter it.
38-2:2 Then
said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To
measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
38-2:3 And,
behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
38-2:4 And
said unto him, Run, speak to this young man,
saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns
without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
38-2:9 For,
behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of
hosts hath sent me.
38-2:11 And
many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that
day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou
shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
38-3:1 And
he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and
Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
38-3:4 And
he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the
filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine
iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe
thee with change of raiment.
38-3:7 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my
charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and
I will give thee places to walk among these that
stand by.
38-4:2 And
said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a
candlestick all of gold, with a bowl
upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
38-4:4 So
I answered and spake to the angel that talked
with me, saying, What are these, my
lord?
38-4:10 For
who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall
see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with
those seven; they are the eyes of
the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole
earth.
38-5:3 Then
said he unto me, This is the curse
that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth
shall be cut off as on this side
according to it; and every one that sweareth
shall be cut off as on that side
according to it.
38-5:10 Then
said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither
do these bear the ephah?
38-5:11 And
he said unto me, To build it an house in the
land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
38-6:7 And
the bay went forth, and sought to go that they
might walk to and fro through the earth: and he
said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the
earth. So they walked to and fro through the
earth.
38-6:14 And
the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to
Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a
memorial in the temple of the LORD.
38-6:15 And
they that are far off shall come and
build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath
sent me unto you. And this shall come
to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of
the LORD your God.
38-7:1 And
it came to pass in the fourth year of king
Darius, that the word of the LORD
came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of
the ninth month, even in Chisleu;
38-7:2 When
they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,
38-7:3 And to
speak unto the priests which were in
the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the
prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I
have done these so many years?
38-7:5 Speak
unto all the people of the land, and to the
priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye
at all fast unto me, even to me?
38-7:9 Thus
speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and
compassions every man to his brother:
38-7:11 But
they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder,
and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
38-7:13 Therefore
it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I
would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
38-8:1 Again
the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying,
38-8:10 For
before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the
affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
38-8:12 For
the seed shall be prosperous; the
vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the
heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
38-8:13 And
it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and
house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
38-8:14 For
thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to
punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath,
saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not:
38-8:15 So
again have I thought in these days to do well
unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear
ye not.
38-8:16 These
are the things that ye shall do;
Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
38-8:19 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and
the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of
Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and
peace.
38-8:20 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet
come to
pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
38-8:21 And
the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to
seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.
38-8:22 Yea,
many people and strong nations shall come to
seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray
before the LORD.
38-8:23 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it
shall come to pass, that ten men shall take
hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of
him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
38-9:10 And
I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the
battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his
dominion shall be from sea even to
sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
38-9:12 Turn
you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope:
even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
38-10:1 Ask
ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of
rain, to every one grass in the field.
38-10:6 And
I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and
I will bring them again to place them; for I
have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for
I am the LORD their God, and will
hear them.
38-11:9 Then
said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat
every one the flesh of another.
38-11:13 And
the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was
prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces
of silver, and cast them to the potter in
the house of the LORD.
38-11:17 Woe
to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the
sword shall be upon his arm, and upon
his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be
utterly darkened.
38-12:9 And
it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
38-13:1 In
that day there shall be a fountain opened to the
house of David and to the inhabitants of
Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
38-13:2 And
it shall come to pass in that day, saith the
LORD of hosts, that I will cut off
the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered:
and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
38-13:3 And
it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother
that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies
in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall
thrust him through when he prophesieth.
38-13:4 And
it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every
one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough
garment to deceive:
38-13:5 But
he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.
38-13:8 And
it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be
cut off and die; but the third shall
be left therein.
38-14:2 For
I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to
battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women
ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue
of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
38-14:5 And
ye shall flee to
the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach
unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in
the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
38-14:6 And
it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
38-14:7 But
it shall be one day which shall be known to the
LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to
pass, that at evening time it shall
be light.
38-14:10 All
the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her
place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner
gate, and from the tower of Hananeel
unto the king’s winepresses.
38-14:13 And
it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be
among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and
his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
38-14:16 And
it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem
shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
38-14:17 And
it shall be, that whoso will not come
up of all the families of the earth
unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of
hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
38-14:18 And
if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall
be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
38-14:19 This
shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come
not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
39-MALACHI
39-1:1 The
burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by
Malachi.
39-2:2 If
ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it
to heart, to
give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon
you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because
ye do not lay it to heart.
39-2:5 My
covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the
fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.
39-2:8 But
ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to
stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of
hosts.
39-2:15 And
did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one?
That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to
your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
39-2:16 For
the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment,
saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to
your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.
39-3:1 Behold,
I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord,
whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple,
even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come,
saith the LORD of hosts.
39-3:5 And
I will come near to you to
judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the
adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the
hireling in his wages, the widow, and
the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
39-3:10 Bring
ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house,
and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the
windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough
to receive
it.
39-3:14 Ye
have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked
mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
39-3:16 Then
they that feared the LORD spake often one to
another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it,
and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the
LORD, and that thought upon his name.
39-4:6 And
he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the
children, and the heart of the children to their
fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
