01-15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a
surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve
them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
01-15:14 And also that nation, whom they shall
serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they
come out with great substance.
01-25:23 And the LORD said unto her, Two
nations are in thy womb, and two
manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve
the younger.
01-27:29 Let people serve
thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy
mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be
every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
01-27:40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and
shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to
pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off
thy neck.

will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy
younger daughter.
01-29:25 And it came to pass, that in the
morning, behold, it was Leah: and he
said to Laban, What is this thou hast
done unto me? did not I serve with thee for
Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?
01-29:27 Fulfil her week, and we will give
thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve
with me yet seven other years.
02-1:13 And
the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve

they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in
all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with
rigour.

he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast
brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve

02-9:1 Then
the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD
God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve

let the men go, that they may serve the LORD
their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
02-10:8 And
Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that
shall go?
02-10:11 Not
so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were
driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
02-10:24 And
Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve
the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones
also go with you.

cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for
thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God;
and we know not with what we must serve the
LORD, until we come thither.
02-12:31 And
he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of
Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.
02-14:12 Is not this the word that we did tell
thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve
the Egyptians? For it had been better
for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we
should die in the wilderness.
02-20:5 Thou
shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve
them: for I the LORD thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the
third and fourth generation of them
that hate me;
02-21:2 If
thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve:
and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the
door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an
aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
02-23:24 Thou
shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve
them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and
quite break down their images.
02-23:25 And
ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall
bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of
thee.
02-23:33 They
shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.
03-25:39 And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and
be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve
as a bondservant:
03-25:40 But
as an hired servant, and as a
sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall
serve thee unto the year of jubile:
04-4:24 This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve, and for burdens:
04-4:26 And the hangings of the court, and
the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords,
and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so
shall they serve.
04-8:25 And from the age of fifty years they
shall cease waiting upon the service thereof,
and shall serve no more:
04-18:7 Therefore thou and thy sons with
thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within
the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your
priest’s office unto you as a service
of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
04-18:21 And, behold, I have given the children
of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which
they serve, even
the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
05-4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes
unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest
be driven to worship them, and serve them, which
the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
05-4:28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone,
which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
05-5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself
unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy
God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
05-6:13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God,
and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
05-7:4 For they will turn away thy son
from following me, that they may serve other
gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee
suddenly.
05-7:16 And thou shalt consume all the
people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity
upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods;
for that will be a snare unto thee.
05-8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all
forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that
ye shall surely perish.
05-10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD
thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways,
and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God
with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
05-10:20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him
shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave,
and swear by his name.
05-11:13 And it shall come to pass, if ye
shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to
love the LORD your God, and to serve him with
all your heart and with all your soul,
05-11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your
heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve
other gods, and worship them;
05-12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not
snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and
that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
05-13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to
pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which
thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
05-13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God,
and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
05-13:6 If thy brother, the son of thy
mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend,
which is as thine own soul, entice
thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other
gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
05-13:13 Certain
men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have
withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
05-15:12 And
if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou
shalt let him go free from thee.
05-20:11 And it shall be, if it make thee
answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found
therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve
thee.
05-28:14 And thou shalt not go aside from any
of the words which I command thee this day, to
the right hand, or to the left,
to go after other gods to serve them.
05-28:36 The LORD shall bring thee, and thy
king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy
fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve
other gods, wood and stone.
05-28:48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against
thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron
upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
05-28:64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among
all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou
shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor
thy fathers have known, even wood and
stone.
05-29:18 Lest there should be among you man,
or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD
our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be
among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
05-30:17 But if thine heart turn away, so that
thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
05-31:20 For when I shall have brought them
into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and
honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then
will they turn unto other gods, and serve them,
and provoke me, and break my covenant.
06-16:10 And they drave not out the Canaanites
that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this
day, and serve under tribute.
06-22:5 But take diligent heed to do the
commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to
love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his
commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve
him with all your heart and with all your soul.
06-23:7 That ye come not among these
nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their
gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither
serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
06-24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the
gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt;
and serve ye the LORD.
06-24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that
were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my
house, we will serve the LORD.
06-24:16 And the people answered and said, God
forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve
other gods;

all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the
LORD; for he is our God.
06-24:19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye
cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your

and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
06-24:21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay;

said, We are witnesses.

LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will
we obey.
07-2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge
was dead, that they returned, and
corrupted themselves more than their
fathers, in following other gods to serve them,
and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from
their stubborn way.
07-9:28 And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not
he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul
his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father
of Shechem: for why should we serve him?
07-9:38 Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst,
Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not
this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with
them.
09-7:3 And Samuel spake unto all the house

hand of the Philistines.
09-10:7 And let it be, when these signs are
come unto thee, that thou do as
occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.

Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.
09-12:10 And they cried unto the LORD, and
said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim
and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.
09-12:14 If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against
the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth
over you continue following the LORD your God:
09-12:20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear
not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the
LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;
09-12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider
how great things he hath done for
you.
09-17:9 If he be able to fight with me, and
to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and
kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve
us.
09-26:19 Now therefore, I pray thee, let my
lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD have stirred thee up
against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from
abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve
other gods.
10-15:8 For thy servant vowed a vow while I
abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to
Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.
10-16:19 And again, whom should I serve? should I not
serve in
the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father’s presence, so will I
be in thy presence.
10-22:44 Thou also hast delivered me from the
strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to
be head of the heathen: a people which
I knew not shall serve me.
11-9:6 But
if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will
not keep my commandments and my
statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve
other gods, and worship them:
11-12:4 Thy father made our yoke grievous:
now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke
which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve
thee.
11-12:7 And they spake unto him, saying, If
thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to
them, then they will be thy servants for ever.

together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.
12-17:35 With whom the LORD had made a
covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow
yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor
sacrifice to them:
12-25:24 And Gedaliah sware to them, and to
their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees:
dwell in the land, and serve the king of
Babylon; and it shall be well with you.
13-28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou
the God of thy father, and serve him with a
perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and
understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will
be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
14-7:19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my
statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
14-10:4 Thy father made our yoke grievous:
now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father, and his
heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve
thee.
14-29:11 My sons, be not now negligent: for
the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve
him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.
14-30:8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your
fathers were, but yield yourselves
unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever:
and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness
of his wrath may turn away from you.
14-33:16 And he repaired the altar of the
LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded
Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
14-34:33 And Josiah took away all the

to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to
serve the LORD their God. And all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God
of their fathers.
14-35:3 And said unto the Levites that
taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house
which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden
upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,
18-21:15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve
him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
18-36:11 If they obey and serve him, they
shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
18-39:9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
19-2:11 Serve
the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
19-18:43 Thou hast delivered me from the
strivings of the people; and thou
hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve
me.
19-22:30 A seed shall serve
him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
19-72:11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before
him: all nations shall serve him.
19-97:7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols:
worship him, all ye gods.
19-100:2 Serve
the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
19-101:6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with
me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve
me.
19-102:22 When the people are gathered together,
and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
23-14:3 And it shall come to pass in the day
that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from
the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve.
23-19:23 In that day shall there be a highway
out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the
Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve
with the Assyrians.
23-43:23 Thou hast not brought me the small
cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy
sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with
an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.
23-43:24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane
with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but
thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou
hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
23-56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that
join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and
to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the
sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
23-60:12 For the nation and kingdom that will
not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
24-5:19 And it shall come to pass, when ye
shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have
forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
24-11:10 They are turned back to the
iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went
after other gods to serve them: the house of
Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their
fathers.
24-13:10 This evil people, which refuse to
hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after
other gods, to serve them, and to worship them,
shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
24-16:13 Therefore will I cast you out of this
land into a land that ye know not, neither
ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve
other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
24-17:4 And thou, even thyself, shalt
discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest
not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
24-25:6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to
anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
24-25:11 And this whole land shall be a
desolation, and an astonishment; and
these nations shall serve the king of Babylon
seventy years.
24-25:14 For many nations and great kings
shall serve themselves of them also: and I will
recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their
own hands.
24-27:6 And now have I given all these lands
into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts
of the field have I given him also to serve him.
24-27:7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the
very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.
24-27:8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will
not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of
Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of
Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with
the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
24-27:9 Therefore hearken not ye to your
prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters,
nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
24-27:11 But the nations that bring their neck
under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve
him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they
shall till it, and dwell therein.
24-27:12 I spake also to Zedekiah king of
Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of
the king of Babylon, and serve him and his
people, and live.
24-27:13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people,
by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken
against the nation that will not serve the king
of Babylon?
24-27:14 Therefore hearken not unto the words
of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto
you.
24-27:17 Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should
this city be laid waste?
24-28:14 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the
God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations,
that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of
Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have
given him the beasts of the field also.
24-30:8 For it shall come to pass in that
day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I
will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers
shall no more serve themselves of him:
24-30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I
will raise up unto them.
24-34:9 That every man should let his
manservant, and every man his maidservant, being
an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.
24-34:10 Now when all the princes, and all the
people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let
his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed,
and let them go.
24-35:15 I have sent also unto you all my
servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend
your doings, and go not after other gods to serve
them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your
fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
24-40:9 And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the
son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with
you.
24-40:10 As for me, behold, I will dwell at
Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, which will come
unto us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your
cities that ye have taken.
