hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I
love.

24-39:3 And
all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris,
Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of
Babylon.

07-13:24 And
the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.
07-14:1 And
Samson went down to Timnath, and
saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.
07-14:3 Then
his father and his mother said unto him, Is
there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my
people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get
her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
07-14:5 Then
went Samson down,
and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of
Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
07-14:7 And
he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.
07-14:10 So
his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to
do.
07-14:12 And
Samson said unto them, I will now
put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven
days of the feast, and find it out,
then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
07-15:1 But
it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid;
and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not
suffer him to go in.
07-15:3 And
Samson said concerning them, Now
shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure.
07-15:4 And
Samson went and caught three
hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a
firebrand in the midst between two tails.
07-15:6 Then
the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the
Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the
Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.
07-15:7 And
Samson said unto them, Though ye
have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.
07-15:10 And
the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To
bind Samson are
we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.
07-15:11 Then
three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the
Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did
unto me, so have I done unto them.
07-15:12 And
they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee
into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not
fall upon me yourselves.
07-15:16 And
Samson said, With the jawbone of an
ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.
07-16:1 Then
went Samson to
Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.
07-16:2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they
compassed him in, and laid wait for
him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In
the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.
07-16:3 And
Samson lay till midnight, and arose
at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and
went away with them, bar and all, and put them
upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
07-16:6 And
Delilah said to Samson, Tell
me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth,
and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
07-16:7 And
Samson said unto her, If they bind
me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be
as another man.
07-16:9 Now
there were men lying in wait, abiding
with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is
broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.
07-16:10 And
Delilah said unto Samson,
Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee,
wherewith thou mightest be bound.
07-16:12 Delilah
therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The
Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them
from off his arms like a thread.
07-16:13 And
Delilah said unto Samson,
Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest
be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with
the web.
07-16:14 And
she fastened it with the pin, and
said unto him, The Philistines be upon
thee, Samson. And
he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with
the web.
07-16:20 And
she said, The Philistines be upon
thee, Samson. And
he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before,
and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
07-16:23 Then
the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great
sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath
delivered Samson our
enemy into our hand.
07-16:25 And
it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport.
And they called for Samson out of
the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
07-16:26 And
Samson said unto the lad that held
him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house
standeth, that I may lean upon them.
07-16:27 Now
the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that
beheld while Samson made
sport.
07-16:28 And
Samson called unto the LORD, and
said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee,
only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my
two eyes.
07-16:29 And
Samson took hold of the two middle
pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one
with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
07-16:30 And
Samson said, Let me die with the
Philistines. And he bowed himself with all
his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew
at his death were more than they which
he slew in his life.
58-11:32 And what
shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of
the prophets:

07-14:15 And
it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare
unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye
called us to take that we have? is it not
so?
07-14:16 And
Samson’s wife wept before him, and
said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle
unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I
tell it thee?
07-14:20 But
Samson’s wife was given to his companion, whom he had used
as his friend.

09-1:20 Wherefore
it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that
she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because
I have asked him of the LORD.
09-2:18 But
Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen
ephod.
09-2:21 And
the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters.
And the child Samuel grew
before the LORD.
09-2:26 And
the child Samuel grew
on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men.
09-3:1 And
the child Samuel
ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in
those days; there was no open vision.
09-3:3 And
ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;
09-3:4 That
the LORD called Samuel: and
he answered, Here am I.
09-3:6 And
the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and
said, Here am I; for thou didst call
me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
09-3:7 Now
Samuel did not yet know the LORD,
neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.
09-3:8 And
the LORD called Samuel again
the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli
perceived that the LORD had called the child.
09-3:9 Therefore
Eli said unto Samuel, Go,
lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD;
for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went
and lay down in his place.
09-3:10 And
the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
09-3:11 And
the LORD said to Samuel,
Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that
heareth it shall tingle.
09-3:15 And
Samuel lay until the morning, and
opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.
09-3:16 Then
Eli called Samuel, and
said, Samuel, my
son. And he answered, Here am I.
09-3:18 And
Samuel told him every whit, and hid
nothing from him. And he said, It is the
LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.
09-3:19 And
Samuel grew, and the LORD was with
him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
09-3:20 And
all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established
to be a prophet of the LORD.
09-3:21 And
the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the
LORD.
09-4:1 And
the word of Samuel came
to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and
pitched beside Ebenezer: and the Philistines pitched in Aphek.
09-7:3 And
Samuel spake unto all the house of
Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and
Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him
only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
09-7:5 And
Samuel said, Gather all Israel to
Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
09-7:6 And
they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on
that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of
Israel in Mizpeh.
09-7:8 And
the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us,
that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
09-7:9 And
Samuel took a sucking lamb, and
offered it for a burnt offering
wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried
unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.
09-7:10 And
as Samuel was offering up the burnt
offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD
thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and
discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
09-7:12 Then
Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called
the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
09-7:13 So
the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and
the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
09-7:15 And
Samuel judged Israel all the days
of his life.
09-8:1 And
it came to pass, when Samuel was
old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
09-8:4 Then
all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
09-8:6 But
the thing displeased Samuel, when
they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
09-8:7 And
the LORD said unto Samuel,
Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they
have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over
them.
09-8:10 And
Samuel told all the words of the
LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.
09-8:19 Nevertheless
the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over
us;
09-8:21 And
Samuel heard all the words of the
people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.
09-8:22 And
the LORD said to Samuel,
Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man
unto his city.
09-9:14 And
they went up into the city: and when
they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high
place.
09-9:15 Now
the LORD had told Samuel in
his ear a day before Saul came, saying,
09-9:17 And
when Samuel saw Saul,
the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall
reign over my people.
09-9:18 Then
Saul drew near to Samuel in the
gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer’s house is.
09-9:19 And
Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the
high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go,
and will tell thee all that is in
thine heart.
09-9:22 And
Samuel took Saul and his servant, and
brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among
them that were bidden, which were about
thirty persons.
09-9:23 And
Samuel said unto the cook, Bring
the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.
09-9:24 And
the cook took up the shoulder, and that which
was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is
left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been
kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.
09-9:25 And
when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed
with Saul upon the top of the house.
09-9:26 And
they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of
the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went
out both of them, he and Samuel,
abroad.
09-9:27 And as they were going down to the end
of the city, Samuel said
to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou
still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.
09-10:1 Then
Samuel took a vial of oil, and
poured it upon his head, and kissed
him, and said, Is it not because the
LORD hath anointed thee to be captain
over his inheritance?
09-10:9 And
it was so, that when he had turned
his back to go from Samuel, God
gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.
09-10:14 And
Saul’s uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To
seek the asses: and when we saw that they
were no where, we came to Samuel.
09-10:15 And
Saul’s uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you.
09-10:16 And
Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of
the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he told him not.
09-10:17 And
Samuel called the people together
unto the LORD to Mizpeh;
09-10:20 And
when Samuel had
caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
09-10:24 And
Samuel said to all the people, See
ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there
is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and
said, God save the king.
09-10:25 Then
Samuel told the people the manner
of the kingdom, and wrote it in a
book, and laid it up before the LORD.
And Samuel sent
all the people away, every man to his house.
09-11:7 And
he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers,
saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear
of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.
09-11:12 And
the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over
us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.
09-11:14 Then
said Samuel to
the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.
09-12:1 And
Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold,
I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a
king over you.
09-12:6 And
Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and
Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.
09-12:11 And
the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your
enemies on every side, and ye dwelled safe.
09-12:18 So
Samuel called unto the LORD; and
the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the
LORD and Samuel.
09-12:19 And
all the people said unto Samuel, Pray
for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto
all our sins this evil, to ask us a
king.
09-12:20 And
Samuel said unto the people, Fear
not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the
LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;
09-13:8 And
he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had
appointed: but Samuel came
not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
09-13:10 And
it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt
offering, behold, Samuel came;
and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.
09-13:11 And
Samuel said, What hast thou done?
And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days
appointed, and that the Philistines
gathered themselves together at Michmash;
09-13:13 And
Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done
foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he
commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel
for ever.
09-13:15 And
Samuel arose, and gat him up from
Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six
hundred men.
09-15:1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The
LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king
over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the
words of the LORD.
09-15:10 Then
came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,
09-15:11 It
repenteth me that I have set up Saul to
be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my
commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
09-15:12 And
when Samuel rose
early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he
set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
09-15:13 And
Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said
unto him, Blessed be thou of the
LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.
09-15:14 And
Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep
in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
09-15:16 Then
Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I
will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him,
Say on.
09-15:17 And
Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee
king over Israel?
09-15:20 And
Saul said unto Samuel, Yea,
I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent
me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the
Amalekites.
09-15:22 And
Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and
sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
09-15:24 And
Saul said unto Samuel, I
have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy
words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
09-15:26 And
Samuel said unto Saul, I will not
return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD
hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
09-15:27 And
as Samuel turned about to go away, he
laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
09-15:28 And
Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath
rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour
of thine, that is better than thou.
09-15:31 So
Samuel turned again after Saul; and
Saul worshipped the LORD.
09-15:32 Then
said Samuel,
Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately.
And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.
09-15:33 And
Samuel said, As thy sword hath made
women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before
the LORD in Gilgal.
09-15:34 Then
Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went
up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
09-15:35 And
Samuel came no more to see Saul
until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he
had made Saul king over Israel.
09-16:1 And
the LORD said unto Samuel, How long
wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?
fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite:
for I have provided me a king among his sons.
09-16:2 And
Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul
hear it, he will kill me. And the
LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the
LORD.
09-16:4 And
Samuel did that which the LORD
spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his
coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably?
09-16:7 But
the LORD said unto Samuel, Look
not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused
him: for the LORD seeth not as man
seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the
heart.
09-16:8 Then
Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
09-16:10 Again,
Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
09-16:11 And
Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here
all thy children? And he said, There
remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and
fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.
09-16:13 Then
Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed
him in the midst of his brethren: and the spirit of the LORD came upon David
from that day forward. So Samuel rose
up, and went to Ramah.
09-19:18 So
David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to
him. And he and Samuel went
and dwelt in Naioth.
09-19:20 And
Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the
prophets prophesying, and Samuel
standing as appointed over them, the
spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
09-19:22 Then
went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and
David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
09-19:24 And
he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day
and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is
Saul also among the prophets?
09-25:1 And
Samuel died; and all the Israelites
were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah.
And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
09-28:3 Now
Samuel was dead, and all Israel had
lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put
away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
09-28:11 Then
said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
09-28:12 And
when the woman saw Samuel, she
cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou
deceived me? for thou art Saul.
09-28:14 And
he said unto her, What form is he of?
And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is
covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and
he stooped with his face to the
ground, and bowed himself.
09-28:15 And
Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou
disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the
Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me
no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that
thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
09-28:16 Then
said Samuel,
Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and
is become thine enemy?
09-28:20 Then
Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of
the words of Samuel: and
there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all
the night.
13-6:28 And
the sons of Samuel; the
firstborn Vashni, and Abiah.
13-9:22 All
these which were chosen to be porters
in the gates were two hundred and
twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David
and Samuel the
seer did ordain in their set office.
13-11:3 Therefore
came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant
with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel,
according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.
13-26:28 And
all that Samuel the
seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of
Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever
had dedicated any thing, it was under
the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.
13-29:29 Now
the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet,
and in the book of Gad the seer,
14-35:18 And
there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all
the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and
the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem.
19-99:6 Moses
and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called
upon the LORD, and he answered them.
24-15:1 Then
said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go
forth.
44-3:24 Yea, and
all the prophets from Samuel and
those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of
these days.
44-13:20 And after
that he gave unto them judges about
the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
58-11:32 And what
shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae;
of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

16-2:10 When
Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah
the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it
grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the
children of Israel.
16-2:19 But
when Sanballat
the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard
it, they laughed us to scorn, and
despised us, and said, What is this
thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?
16-4:1 But
it came to pass, that when Sanballat
heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and
mocked the Jews.
16-4:7 But
it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the
Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of
Jerusalem were made up, and that the
breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,
16-6:1 Now
it came to pass, when Sanballat,
and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I
had builded the wall, and that there
was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors
upon the gates;)
16-6:2 That
Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me,
saying, Come, let us meet together in some
one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me
mischief.
16-6:5 Then
sent Sanballat
his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his
hand;
16-6:12 And,
lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy
against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat
had hired him.
16-6:14 My
God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the
prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in
fear.
16-13:28 And
one of the sons of Joiada, the son of
Eliashib the high priest, was son in
law to Sanballat
the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.

46-1:30 But
of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness,
and sanctification, and redemption:
52-4:3 For
this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from
fornication:
52-4:4 That
every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
53-2:13 But
we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord,
because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
60-1:2 Elect
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and
sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be
multiplied.

01-2:3 And God blessed
the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that
in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
02-19:14 And Moses went down from the mount
unto the people, and sanctified the people; and
they washed their clothes.
02-29:43 And there I will meet with the
children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall
be sanctified by my glory.
03-8:10 And Moses
took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.
03-8:15 And he
slew it; and Moses took the blood,
and put it upon the horns of the
altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood
at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it,
to make reconciliation upon it.
03-8:30 And Moses
took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon
his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons’ garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and
his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.
03-10:3 Then
Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that
the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in
them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And
Aaron held his peace.
03-27:15 And if he
that sanctified it will redeem his house, then
he shall add the fifth part of the
money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be his.
03-27:19 And if he
that sanctified the field will in any wise
redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part
of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be assured to him.
04-7:1 And it
came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the tabernacle, and had
anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments
thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and
sanctified them;
04-8:17 For all
the firstborn of the children of Israel are
mine, both man and beast: on the
day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
04-20:13 This is the water of Meribah, because the
children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified
in them.
05-32:51 Because ye
trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of
Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified
me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
09-7:1 And
the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it
into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified
Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
09-16:5 And
he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves,
and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified
Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
09-21:5 And
David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three
days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea,
though it were sanctified this day in the
vessel.
13-15:14 So
the priests and the Levites sanctified
themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.
14-5:11 And
it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did
not then wait by course:
14-7:16 For
now have I chosen and sanctified this house,
that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there
perpetually.
14-7:20 Then
will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and
this house, which I have sanctified for my name,
will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
14-29:15 And
they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves,
and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD,
to cleanse the house of the LORD.
14-29:17 Now
they began on the first day of the
first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the
porch of the LORD: so they sanctified the house
of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they
made an end.
14-29:19 Moreover
all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his reign did cast away in his
transgression, have we prepared and sanctified,
and, behold, they are before the
altar of the LORD.
14-29:34 But
the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings:
wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended,
and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify
themselves than the priests.
14-30:3 For
they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the
people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.
14-30:8 Now
be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were,
but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he
hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD
your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
14-30:15 Then
they killed the passover on the fourteenth day
of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt
offerings into the house of the LORD.
14-30:17 For
there were many in the congregation
that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites
had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD.
14-30:24 For
Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and
seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand
bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.
14-31:18 And
to the genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and
their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their set office they sanctified themselves in holiness:
16-3:1 Then
Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they
builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and
set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
16-12:47 And
all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the
portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy
things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified
them unto the children of Aaron.
18-1:5 And
it was so, when the days of their feasting
were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified
them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for
Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.
Thus did Job continually.
23-5:16 But
the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
23-13:3 I
have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also
called my mighty ones for mine anger, even
them that rejoice in my highness.
24-1:5 Before
I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the
womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
26-20:41 I
will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people,
and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will
be sanctified in you before the heathen.
26-28:22 And
say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am
against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and
they shall know that I am the LORD,
when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.
26-28:25 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the
people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified
in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I
have given to my servant Jacob.
26-36:23 And
I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye
have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I
shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
26-38:16 And
thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land;
it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the
heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified
in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
26-39:27 When
I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their
enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the
sight of many nations;
26-48:11 It shall be for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept my
charge, which went not astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the
Levites went astray.
43-10:36 Say ye of
him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent
into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
43-17:19 And for
their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified
through the truth.
44-20:32 And now,
brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to
build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
44-26:18 To open
their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that
they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
45-15:16 That I
should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel
of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
46-1:2 Unto
the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
46-6:11 And
such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified,
but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our
God.
46-7:14 For
the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the
wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by
the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
54-4:5 For it
is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
55-2:21 If a man
therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
58-2:11 For both
he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not
ashamed to call them brethren,
58-10:10 By the
which will we are sanctified through the
offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for
all.
58-10:14 For by one
offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
58-10:29 Of how
much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden
under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant,
wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing,
and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
65-1:1 Jude,
the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus
Christ, and called:

40-23:17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is
greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth
the gold?
40-23:19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
58-2:11 For both
he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is
not ashamed to call them brethren,
58-9:13 For if
the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the
unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the
flesh:
