01-2:2 And
on the seventh day God ended his work which he
had made; and he rested on the seventh day from
all his work which he had made.
01-4:15 And
the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be
taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark
upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
01-4:16 And
Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
01-6:1 And
it came to pass, when men began to multiply on
the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
01-6:6 And
it repented the LORD that he had made man on the
earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
01-8:4 And
the ark rested in the seventh month, on the
seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
01-8:5 And
the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on
the first day of the month, were the
tops of the mountains seen.
01-8:9 But
the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into
the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his
hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
01-8:14 And
in the second month, on the seven and twentieth
day of the month, was the earth dried.
01-8:20 And
Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of
every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on
the altar.
01-12:8 And
he removed from thence unto a mountain on the
east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having
Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the
LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
01-12:9 And
Abram journeyed, going on still toward the
south.
01-13:3 And
he went on his journeys from the south even to
Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel
and Hai;
01-13:4 Unto
the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram
called on the name of the LORD.
01-14:15 And
he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them,
and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
01-17:3 And
Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him,
saying,
01-18:5 And
I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall
pass on: for therefore are ye come to your
servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
01-18:16 And
the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with
them to bring them on the way.
01-19:2 And
he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house,
and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in
the street all night.
01-19:34 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that the
firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let
us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
01-20:9 Then
Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and
what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on
me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done
deeds unto me that ought not to be done.
01-21:14 And
Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water,
and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her
shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in
the wilderness of Beersheba.
01-21:33 And
Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba,
and called there on the name of the LORD, the
everlasting God.
01-22:4 Then
on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and
saw the place afar off.
01-22:9 And
they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar
there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
01-24:33 And
there was set meat before him to eat:
but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.
01-24:45 And
before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her
pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto
the well, and drew water: and I said unto
her, Let me drink, I pray thee.
01-25:26 And
after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare
them.
01-28:12 And
he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the
earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God
ascending and descending on it.
01-28:20 And
Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way
that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
01-29:1 Then
Jacob went on his journey, and came into the
land of the people of the east.
01-31:22 And
it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob
was fled.
01-32:1 And
Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met
him.
01-32:19 And
so commanded he the second, and the third, and all that followed the droves,
saying, On this manner shall ye speak unto Esau,
when ye find him.
01-33:4 And
Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on
his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.
01-33:14 Let
my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before
me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.
01-33:16 So
Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir.
01-34:25 And
it came to pass on the third day, when they were
sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brethren, took
each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.
01-37:23 And
it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript
Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;
01-38:9 And
Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in
unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it
on the ground, lest that he should give seed
to his brother.
01-38:19 And
she arose, and went away, and laid by her vail from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.
01-40:14 But
think on me when it shall be well with thee, and
shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and
bring me out of this house:
01-40:16 When
the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I
also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
01-40:19 Yet
within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang
thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy
flesh from off thee.
01-41:45 And
Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath
the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And
Joseph went out over all the land of
Egypt.
01-41:50 And
unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath
the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare
unto him.
01-43:31 And
he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread.
01-43:32 And
they set on for him by himself, and for them by
themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because
the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
01-44:14 And
Judah and his brethren came to Joseph’s house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on
the ground.
01-44:34 For
how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be
not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.
01-46:20 And
unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath
the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare
unto him.
01-46:29 And
Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to
Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on
his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
01-48:16 The
Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named
on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and
Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
01-49:26 The
blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors
unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on
the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
02-1:10 Come
on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they
multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join
also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
02-2:6 And
when she had opened it, she saw the
child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.
02-2:11 And
it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his
brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied
an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.
02-4:3 And
he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled
from before it.
02-6:28 And
it came to pass on the day when the LORD spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,
02-8:4 And
the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon
thy people, and upon all thy servants.
02-9:6 And
the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all
the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not
one.
02-12:7 And
they shall take of the blood, and strike it
on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they
shall eat it.
02-12:11 And
thus shall ye eat it; with your loins
girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff
in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S passover.
02-12:18 In
the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall
eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
02-12:23 For
the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood
upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the
LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto
your houses to smite you.
02-12:29 And
it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land
of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on
his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
02-12:37 And
the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred
thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
02-14:16 But
lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it:
and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
02-14:22 And
the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on
their left.
02-14:29 But
the children of Israel walked upon dry land
in the midst of the sea; and the waters were
a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
02-15:14 The
people shall hear, and be afraid:
sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of
Palestina.
02-15:19 For
the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the
sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the
children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
02-16:1 And
they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of
Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the
fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of
Egypt.
02-16:5 And
it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day
they shall prepare that which they
bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.
02-16:14 And
when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
02-16:22 And
it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread,
two omers for one man: and all the
rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
02-16:26 Six
days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day,
which is the sabbath, in it there
shall be none.
02-16:27 And
it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
02-16:29 See,
for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every
man in his place, let no man go out of his place on
the seventh day.
02-16:30 So
the people rested on the seventh day.
02-17:5 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people,
and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest
the river, take in thine hand, and go.
02-17:9 And
Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to
morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with
the rod of God in mine hand.
02-17:12 But
Moses’ hands were heavy; and they
took a stone, and put it under him,
and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down
of the sun.
02-18:13 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to
judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the
evening.
02-19:4 Ye
have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and
brought you unto myself.
02-19:16 And
it came to pass on the third day in the morning,
that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and
the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
02-19:18 And
mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because
the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke
of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
02-19:20 And
the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top
of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up
to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
02-21:30 If
there be laid on him a sum of money, then he
shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
02-22:30 Likewise
shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with
thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on
the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
02-23:12 Six
days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh
day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy
handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
02-24:6 And
Moses took half of the blood, and put it in
basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on
the altar.
02-24:8 And
Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the
covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.
02-24:17 And
the sight of the glory of the LORD was like
devouring fire on the top of the mount in the
eyes of the children of Israel.
02-25:19 And
make one cherub on the one end, and the other
cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
02-25:20 And
the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings
on high, covering the mercy seat with their
wings, and their faces shall look one
to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.
02-25:26 And
thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four
corners that are on the four feet thereof.
02-26:10 And
thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the
one curtain that is outmost in the
coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.
02-26:13 And
a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length
of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on
that side, to cover it.
02-26:18 And
thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.
02-26:20 And
for the second side of the tabernacle on the
north side there shall be twenty
boards:
02-26:35 And
thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the
table on the side of the tabernacle toward the
south: and thou shalt put the table on the north
side.
02-27:12 And
for the breadth of the court on the west side shall
be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.
02-27:13 And
the breadth of the court on the east side
eastward shall be fifty cubits.
02-27:15 And
on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits:
their pillars three, and their sockets three.
02-27:21 In
the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from
evening to morning before the LORD: it
shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on
the behalf of the children of Israel.
02-28:9 And
thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on
them the names of the children of Israel:
02-28:10 Six
of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.
02-28:23 And
thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt put the two
rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
02-28:24 And
thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of
gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate.
02-28:25 And
the other two ends of the two
wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in
the two ouches, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod before it.
02-28:27 And
two other rings of gold thou shalt
make, and shalt put them on the two sides of the
ephod underneath, toward the forepart thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the
curious girdle of the ephod.
02-28:37 And
thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be
upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.
02-29:9 And
thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest’s office shall be theirs for a
perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.
02-29:30 And that son that is priest in his stead
shall put them on seven days, when he cometh
into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place.
02-31:17 It
is a sign between me and the children
of Israel for ever: for in six days
the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the
seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
02-32:6 And
they rose up early on the morrow, and offered
burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat
and to drink, and rose up to play.
02-32:15 And
Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony
were in his hand: the tables were written on
both their sides; on the one side and on the other were
they written.
02-32:22 And
Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that
they are set on
mischief.
02-32:26 Then
Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons
of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
02-32:30 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said
unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the
LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
02-33:4 And
when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.
02-33:19 And
he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the
name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious,
and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
02-34:21 Six
days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day
thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
02-34:33 And
till Moses had done speaking with
them, he put a vail on his face.
02-35:2 Six
days shall work be done, but on the seventh day
there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever
doeth work therein shall be put to death.
02-36:11 And
he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain
from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the uttermost side of another curtain, in the coupling of the
second.
02-37:7 And
he made two cherubims of gold, beaten
out of one piece made he them, on the two ends
of the mercy seat;
02-37:8 One
cherub on the end on
this side, and another cherub on the other end on
that side: out of the mercy seat made he the cherubims on
the two ends thereof.
02-37:9 And
the cherubims spread out their wings on high, and covered
with their wings over the mercy seat, with their faces one to another; even to the mercy seatward were the
faces of the cherubims.
02-38:2 And
he made the horns thereof on the four corners of
it; the horns thereof were of the same: and he overlaid it with brass.
02-38:7 And
he put the staves into the rings on the sides of
the altar, to bear it withal; he made the altar hollow with boards.
02-38:9 And
he made the court: on the south side southward
the hangings of the court were of fine
twined linen, an hundred cubits:
02-38:15 And
for the other side of the court gate, on this
hand and that hand, were hangings of
fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.
02-39:7 And
he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a
memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.
02-39:17 And
they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.
02-39:18 And
the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and
put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod,
before it.
02-39:19 And
they made two rings of gold, and put them
on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the
border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.
02-39:20 And
they made two other golden rings, and
put them on the two sides of the ephod
underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
02-39:31 And
they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it
on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded
Moses.
02-40:2 On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up
the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.
02-40:17 And
it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on
the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
02-40:20 And
he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:
02-40:24 And
he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table,
on the side of the tabernacle southward.
02-40:38 For
the cloud of the LORD was upon the
tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night,
in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
03-1:8 And
the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order
upon the wood that is on the fire which is
upon the altar:
03-1:9 But
his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to
be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the
LORD.
03-1:11 And
he shall kill it on the side of the altar
northward before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle his
blood round about upon the altar.
03-1:12 And
he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest
shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the
fire which is upon the altar:
03-1:15 And
the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the
altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar:
03-1:16 And
he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
03-2:12 As
for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the LORD: but
they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet
savour.
03-3:4 And
the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is
by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he
take away.
03-3:5 And
Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the
burnt sacrifice, which is upon the
wood that is on
the fire: it is an offering made by
fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
03-4:12 Even
the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place,
where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on
the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.
03-5:12 Then
shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a memorial thereof, and burn it on the
altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: it is a sin offering.
03-6:10 And
the priest shall put on his linen garment, and
his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the
fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on
the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.
03-6:11 And
he shall put off his garments, and put on other
garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.
03-6:12 And
the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and
the priest shall burn wood on it every morning,
and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat
of the peace offerings.
03-7:4 And
the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is
by the flanks, and the caul that is above
the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away:
03-7:16 But
if the sacrifice of his offering be a
vow, or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offereth
his sacrifice: and on the morrow also the
remainder of it shall be eaten:
03-7:17 But
the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on
the third day shall be burnt with fire.
03-7:18 And
if any of the flesh of the sacrifice
of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the
third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that
offereth it: it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall
bear his iniquity.
03-8:26 And
out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was
before the LORD, he took one unleavened cake, and a cake of oiled bread,
and one wafer, and put them on the fat, and upon the right shoulder:

Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt
offering: they were consecrations for
a sweet savour: it is an offering
made by fire unto the LORD.
03-9:1 And
it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons,
and the elders of Israel;
03-9:14 And
he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt offering on the
altar.
03-9:24 And
there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the
burnt offering and the fat: which when
all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on
their faces.
03-11:2 Speak
unto the children of Israel, saying, These are
the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on
the earth.
03-11:27 And
whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four,
those are unclean unto you: whoso
toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
03-11:34 Of
all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water
cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
03-13:3 And
the priest shall look on the plague in the skin
of the flesh: and when the hair in
the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and pronounce him unclean.
03-13:5 And
the priest shall look on him the seventh day:
and, behold, if the plague in his
sight be at a stay, and the plague
spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:
03-13:6 And
the priest shall look on him again the seventh
day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall pronounce
him clean: it is but a scab: and he
shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
03-13:21 But
if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hairs therein, and if it be not lower than the skin, but be
somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:
03-13:26 But
if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the bright
spot, and it be no lower than the other skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:
03-13:31 And
if the priest look on the plague of the scall,
and, behold, it be not in sight
deeper than the skin, and that there is no
black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague of the scall seven days:
03-13:32 And
in the seventh day the priest shall look on the
plague: and, behold, if the scall
spread not, and there be in it no yellow hair, and the scall be not in sight deeper than the skin;
03-13:34 And
in the seventh day the priest shall look on the
scall: and, behold, if the scall be
not spread in the skin, nor be in
sight deeper than the skin; then the priest shall pronounce him clean: and he
shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
03-13:36 Then
the priest shall look on him: and, behold, if
the scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is unclean.
03-13:51 And
he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the
garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a fretting leprosy; it is unclean.
03-13:55 And
the priest shall look on the plague, after that
it is washed: and, behold, if the
plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the
fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.
03-14:9 But
it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave
all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he
shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in
water, and he shall be clean.
03-14:10 And
on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without
blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth
deals of fine flour for a meat
offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.
03-14:23 And
he shall bring them on the eighth day for his
cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
before the LORD.
03-14:37 And
he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow strakes, greenish or
reddish, which in sight are lower
than the wall;
03-15:6 And
he that sitteth on any thing whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his
clothes, and bathe himself in water,
and be unclean until the even.
03-15:14 And
on the eighth day he shall take to him two
turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD unto the door of
the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest:
03-15:23 And
if it be on
her bed, or on
any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until
the even.
03-15:29 And
on the eighth day she shall take unto her two
turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of
the tabernacle of the congregation.
03-16:4 He
shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall
have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen
girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he
wash his flesh in water, and so put
them on.
03-16:10 But
the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat,
shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into
the wilderness.
03-16:23 And
Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the
linen garments, which he put on when he went
into the holy place, and shall leave
them there:
03-16:24 And
he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt
offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for
himself, and for the people.
03-16:29 And
this shall be a statute for ever unto
you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day
of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country,
or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
03-16:30 For
on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins
before the LORD.
03-16:32 And
the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in
the priest’s office in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement, and shall
put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:
03-19:6 It
shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on
the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the
fire.
03-19:7 And
if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.
03-20:25 Ye
shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean
fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by
fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on
the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
03-21:10 And
he that is the high priest among his
brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated
to put on the garments, shall not uncover his
head, nor rend his clothes;
03-22:30 On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave
none of it until the morrow: I am the
LORD.
03-23:6 And
on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto
the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
03-23:11 And
he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave
it.
03-23:21 And
ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto
you: ye shall do no servile work therein:
it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your
generations.
03-23:27 Also
on the tenth day
of this seventh month there shall be a
day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall
afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
03-23:35 On the first day shall
be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
03-23:36 Seven
days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto
you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
03-23:39 Also
in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit
of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall
be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
03-23:40 And
ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of
goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and
willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
03-24:6 And
thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row,
upon the pure table before the LORD.
03-24:7 And
thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each
row, that it may be on the bread for a
memorial, even an offering made by
fire unto the LORD.
03-25:9 Then
shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on
the tenth day of the seventh month,
in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your
land.
04-1:1 And
the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the
congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come
out of the land of Egypt, saying,
04-1:18 And
they assembled all the congregation together on
the first day of the second month,
and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their
fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and
upward, by their polls.
04-2:3 And
on the east side toward the rising of the sun
shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies:
and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be
captain of the children of Judah.
04-2:10 On the south side shall
be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their armies: and the
captain of the children of Reuben shall
be Elizur the son of Shedeur.
04-2:18 On the west side shall
be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the
captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama
the son of Ammihud.
04-2:25 The
standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side by their armies: and the captain of
the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer
the son of Ammishaddai.
04-3:10 And
thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
04-3:13 Because
all the firstborn are mine; for on
the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me
all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.
04-3:29 The
families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on
the side of the tabernacle southward.
04-3:35 And
the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.
04-4:12 And
they shall take all the instruments of ministry, wherewith they minister in the
sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of
blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put them on a
bar:
04-6:9 And
if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his
consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it.
04-6:10 And
on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or
two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation:
04-6:23 Speak
unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this
wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
04-7:1 And
it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set
up the tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the
instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had
anointed them, and sanctified them;
04-7:11 And
the LORD said unto Moses, They shall offer their offering, each prince on his day, for the dedicating of the altar.
04-7:18 On the second day Nethaneel the son of Zuar, prince of
Issachar, did offer:
04-7:24 On the third day Eliab the son of Helon, prince of the
children of Zebulun, did offer:
04-7:30 On the fourth day Elizur the son of Shedeur, prince of
the children of Reuben, did offer:
04-7:36 On the fifth day Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai,
prince of the children of Simeon, did
offer:
04-7:42 On the sixth day Eliasaph the son of Deuel, prince of the
children of Gad, offered:
04-7:48 On the seventh day Elishama the son of Ammihud, prince
of the children of Ephraim, offered:
04-7:54 On the eighth day offered
Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur, prince of the children of Manasseh:
04-7:60 On the ninth day Abidan the son of Gideoni, prince of
the children of Benjamin, offered:
04-7:66 On the tenth day Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai,
prince of the children of Dan, offered:
04-7:72 On the eleventh day Pagiel the son of Ocran, prince of
the children of Asher, offered:
04-7:78 On the twelfth day Ahira the son of Enan, prince of
the children of Naphtali, offered:
04-8:17 For
all the firstborn of the children of Israel are
mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of
Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
04-9:5 And
they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of
the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the
LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.
04-9:6 And
there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they
could not keep the passover on that day: and
they came before Moses and before Aaron on that
day:
04-9:15 And
on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the
cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the
tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the
appearance of fire, until the morning.
04-10:5 When
ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the
east parts shall go forward.
04-10:6 When
ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall
blow an alarm for their journeys.
04-10:11 And
it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year,
that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
04-11:31 And
there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let
them fall by the camp, as it were a
day’s journey on this side, and as it were a
day’s journey on the other side, round about the
camp, and as it were two cubits high upon
the face of the earth.
04-14:5 Then
Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all
the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
04-16:1 Now
Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and
Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of
Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:
04-16:27 So
they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and
stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their
little children.
04-16:41 But
on the morrow all the congregation of the
children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have
killed the people of the LORD.
04-16:46 And
Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar,
and put on incense, and go quickly unto the
congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from
the LORD; the plague is begun.
04-16:47 And
Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and,
behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
04-17:8 And
it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went
into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of
Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded
almonds.
04-19:12 He
shall purify himself with it on the third day,
and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if
he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be
clean.
04-19:19 And
the clean person shall sprinkle upon
the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on
the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe
himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
04-20:19 And
the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and
my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet.
04-21:13 From
thence they removed, and pitched on the other
side of Arnon, which is in the
wilderness that cometh out of the coasts of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the
Amorites.
04-22:1 And
the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.
04-22:24 But
the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on
this side, and a wall on that side.
04-22:31 Then
the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing
in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and
fell flat on his face.
04-22:41 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that Balak took
Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might
see the utmost part of the people.
04-23:2 And
Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar
a bullock and a ram.
04-23:14 And
he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven
altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
04-23:30 And
Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
04-24:20 And
when he looked on Amalek, he took up his
parable, and said, Amalek was the
first of the nations; but his latter end shall
be that he perish for ever.
04-24:21 And
he looked on the Kenites, and took up his
parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a
rock.
04-28:9 And
on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year
without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for
a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof:
04-28:25 And
on the seventh day ye shall have an holy

on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year
without blemish:
04-29:35 On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye
shall do no servile work therein:
04-30:8 But
if her husband disallowed her on the day that he
heard it; then he shall make her vow
which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound
her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her.
04-30:12 But
if her husband hath utterly made them void on
the day he heard them; then whatsoever
proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her
soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall
forgive her.
04-31:19 And
do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and
whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both
yourselves and your captives on the third
day, and on the seventh day.
04-31:24 And
ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day,
and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
04-32:19 For
we will not inherit with them on yonder side
Jordan, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward.
04-32:32 We
will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the
possession of our inheritance on this side
Jordan may be ours.
04-33:3 And
they departed from Rameses in the first month, on
the fifteenth day of the first month; on the
morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in
the sight of all the Egyptians.
04-34:4 And
your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the
south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to
Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon:
04-34:9 And
the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the
goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border.
04-34:11 And
the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on
the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the
side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:
04-34:15 The
two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.
04-35:5 And
ye shall measure from without the city on the
east side two thousand cubits, and on the south
side two thousand cubits, and on the west side
two thousand cubits, and on the north side two
thousand cubits; and the city shall be in
the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.
04-35:14 Ye
shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and
three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.
05-1:1 These
be the words which Moses spake unto
all Israel on this side Jordan in the
wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and
Dizahab.
05-1:3 And
it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day
of the month, that Moses spake
unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in
commandment unto them;
05-1:5 On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to
declare this law, saying,
05-1:41 Then
ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up
and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had
girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were
ready to go up into the hill.
05-2:28 Thou
shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that
I may drink: only I will pass through on my
feet;
05-3:8 And
we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land
that was on
this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon;
05-4:15 Take
ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the
LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
05-4:17 The
likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that
flieth in the air,
05-4:18 The
likeness of any thing that creepeth on the
ground, the likeness of any fish that is in
the waters beneath the earth:
05-4:41 Then
Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan
toward the sun rising;
05-4:46 On this side Jordan, in the valley over against
Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom
Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of
Egypt:
05-4:47 And
they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the
Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sun rising;
05-4:49 And
all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even
unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.
05-6:9 And
thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on
thy gates.
05-7:25 The
graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the
silver or gold that is on them, nor take it
unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.
05-9:10 And
the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God;
and on them was
written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the
mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
05-10:2 And
I will write on the tables the words that were
in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
05-10:4 And
he wrote on the tables, according to the first
writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out
of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them
unto me.
05-11:30 Are they not on
the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the
Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains
of Moreh?
05-16:8 Six
days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the
seventh day shall be a solemn
assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.
05-21:19 Then
shall his father and his mother lay hold on him,
and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
05-21:22 And
if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death,
and thou hang him on a tree:
05-22:5 The
woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
05-22:6 If
a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether
they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon
the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:
05-22:28 If
a man find a damsel that is a virgin,
which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and
lie with her, and they be found;
05-23:11 But
it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall
wash himself with water: and when the
sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.
05-26:7 And
when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and
looked on our affliction, and our labour, and
our oppression:
05-27:2 And
it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over
Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set
thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:
05-28:1 And
it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the
LORD thy God, to observe and to do
all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will
set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
05-28:2 And
all these blessings shall come on thee, and
overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
05-30:7 And
the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
05-32:11 As
an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her
wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
05-32:13 He
made him ride on the high places of the earth,
that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out
of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
05-32:22 For
a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall
consume the earth with her increase, and set on
fire the foundations of the mountains.

I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on
judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that

wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses

the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he
hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your
God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and
enjoy it, which Moses the LORD’S servant gave you on
this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
06-2:10 For
we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye
came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on
the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
06-2:19 And
it shall be, that whosoever shall go
out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will
be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on
our head, if any hand be upon him.
06-3:17 And
the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the
Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all
the people were passed clean over Jordan.
06-4:14 On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of
all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his
life.
06-4:19 And
the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in
Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.
06-4:22 Then
ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
06-5:1 And
it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward,
and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were
by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from
before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart
melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of
Israel.
06-5:10 And
the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the
plains of Jericho.
06-5:11 And
they did eat of the old corn of the land on the
morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.
06-5:12 And
the manna ceased on the morrow after they had
eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any
more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
06-5:14 And
he said, Nay; but as captain of the
host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on
his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord
unto his servant?
06-6:7 And
he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass
the city, and let him that is armed pass on
before the ark of the LORD.
06-6:8 And
it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests
bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns passed on
before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the
LORD followed them.
06-6:9 And
the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the
rereward came after the ark, the priests going
on, and blowing with the trumpets.
06-6:13 And
seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD
went on continually, and blew with the trumpets:
and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the
LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
06-6:15 And
it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose
early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same
manner seven times: only on that day they
compassed the city seven times.
06-7:2 And
Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is
beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel,
and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up
and viewed Ai.
06-7:7 And
Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people
over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would
to God we had been content, and dwelt on the
other side Jordan!
06-8:8 And
it shall be, when ye have taken the city, that
ye shall set the city on fire: according to
the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have commanded you.
06-8:9 Joshua
therefore sent them forth: and they went to lie in ambush, and abode between
Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai: but
Joshua lodged that night among the people.
06-8:11 And
all the people, even the people of
war that were with him, went up, and
drew nigh, and came before the city, and pitched on
the north side of Ai: now there was a
valley between them and Ai.
06-8:12 And
he took about five thousand men, and set them to lie in ambush between Bethel
and Ai, on the west side of the city.
06-8:13 And
when they had set the people, even all
the host that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into
the midst of the valley.
06-8:19 And
the ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he had
stretched out his hand: and they entered into the city, and took it, and hasted
and set the city on fire.
06-8:22 And
the other issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of
Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let
none of them remain or escape.
06-8:24 And
it came to pass, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of
Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were
all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they
were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the
edge of the sword.
06-8:29 And
the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide:
and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his
carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the
city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day.
06-8:33 And
all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on
that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of
the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them
over against mount Gerizim, and half of them over against mount Ebal; as Moses
the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people
of Israel.
06-9:1 And
it came to pass, when all the kings which were
on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in
the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the
Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the
Jebusite, heard thereof;
06-9:12 This
our bread we took hot for our
provision out of our houses on the day we came
forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy:
06-9:17 And
the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth,
and Kirjathjearim.
06-10:26 And
afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees
until the evening.
06-10:32 And
the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the
sword, and all the souls that were therein,
according to all that he had done to Libnah.
06-10:35 And
they took it on that day, and smote it with the
edge of the sword, and all the souls that were
therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to
Lachish.
06-11:2 And
to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south
of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
06-11:3 And to the Canaanite on the east and on the
west, and to the Amorite, and the
Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land
of Mizpeh.
06-12:1 Now
these are the kings of the land,
which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun,
from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east:
06-12:3 And
from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the
east, and unto the sea of the plain, even
the salt sea on the east, the way to
Bethjeshimoth; and from the south, under Ashdothpisgah:
06-12:7 And
these are the kings of the country
which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on
this side Jordan on the west, from Baalgad in
the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which
Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for
a possession according to their divisions;
06-13:16 And
their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all
the plain by Medeba;
06-13:27 And
in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of
the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the
edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan
eastward.
06-13:32 These
are the countries which Moses did
distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on
the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.
06-14:3 For
Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave
none inheritance among them.
06-14:9 And
Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land
whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s
for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
06-15:3 And
it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and
ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea,
and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to
Karkaa:
06-15:7 And
the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward,
looking toward Gilgal, that is before
the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed
toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:
06-15:10 And
the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along
unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon,
on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh,
and passed on to Timnah:
06-16:1 And
the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water
of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that
goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel.
06-16:5 And
the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: even the border of their
inheritance on the east side was Atarothaddar,
unto Bethhoron the upper;
06-16:6 And
the border went out toward the sea to Michmethah on
the north side; and the border went about eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and
passed by it on the east to Janohah;
06-17:5 And
there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan,
which were on
the other side Jordan;
06-17:7 And
the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of Entappuah.
06-17:8 Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah:
but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;
06-17:9 And
the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities
of Ephraim are among the cities of
Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of
it were at the sea:
06-17:10 Southward
it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea is his
border; and they met together in Asher on the
north, and in Issachar on the east.
06-18:5 And
they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in
their coasts on the north.
06-18:7 But
the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and
Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond
Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of
the LORD gave them.
06-18:12 And
their border on the north side was from Jordan;
and the border went up to the side of Jericho on
the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out
thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.
06-18:13 And
the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border
descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the
nether Bethhoron.
06-18:15 And
the south quarter was from the end of
Kirjathjearim, and the border went out on the
west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:
06-18:16 And
the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the
valley of the giants on the north, and descended
to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on
the south, and descended to Enrogel,
06-18:20 And
Jordan was the border of it on the east side.
This was the inheritance of the children
of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.
06-19:13 And
from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goeth
out to Remmonmethoar to Neah;
06-19:14 And
the border compasseth it on the north side to
Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel:
06-19:27 And
turneth toward the sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the
valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth
out to Cabul on the left hand,
06-19:34 And
then the coast turneth westward to
Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the
sunrising.
06-20:8 And
on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward,
they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of
Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out
of the tribe of Manasseh.
06-22:4 And
now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them:
therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of
the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
06-22:7 Now
to the one half of the tribe of
Manasseh Moses had given possession in
Bashan: but unto the other half
thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this
side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents,
then he blessed them,
06-22:20 Did
not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath
fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that
man perished not alone in his iniquity.
06-24:2 And
Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your
fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in
old time, even Terah, the father of
Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.
06-24:8 And
I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you:
and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I
destroyed them from before you.
06-24:14 Now
therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away
the gods which your fathers served on the other
side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
06-24:15 And
if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will
serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my
house, we will serve the LORD.
06-24:30 And
they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathserah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.
07-1:8 Now
the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and
smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
07-2:9 And
they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount
of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
07-3:25 And
they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of
the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was
fallen down dead on the earth.
07-4:15 And
the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots,
and all his host, with the edge of
the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his
feet.
07-4:17 Howbeit
Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael
the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there
was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the
Kenite.
07-4:23 So
God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan
before the children of Israel.
07-5:1 Then
sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on
that day, saying,
07-5:10 Speak,
ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in
judgment, and walk by the way.
07-5:15 And
the princes of Issachar were with
Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on
foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.
07-5:17 Gilead
abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
07-5:30 Have
they not sped? have they not divided
the prey; to every man a damsel or two;
to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of
divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?
07-6:32 Therefore
on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let
Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.
07-6:37 Behold,
I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and
if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt
save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
07-6:38 And
it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow,
and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl
full of water.
07-6:40 And
God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
07-7:1 Then
Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the
people that were with him, rose up
early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites
were on the north side of them, by the hill of
Moreh, in the valley.
07-7:17 And
he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise:
and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do.
07-7:18 When
I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are
with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on
every side of all the camp, and say, The
sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
07-7:25 And
they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb upon
the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian,
and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on
the other side Jordan.
07-8:11 And
Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on
the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host: for the host was secure.
07-8:21 Then
Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon us: for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon
arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on
their camels’ necks.
07-8:26 And
the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was a thousand and seven
hundred shekels of gold; beside ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that
was on the kings of Midian, and beside the
chains that were about their camels’ necks.
07-8:34 And
the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered
them out of the hands of all their enemies on
every side:
07-9:8 The
trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over
them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us.
07-9:42 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that the people
went out into the field; and they told Abimelech.
07-9:48 And
Abimelech gat him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him;
and Abimelech took an ax in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and
took it, and laid it on his shoulder, and said
unto the people that were with him, What ye have seen me do, make haste, and do
as I have done.
07-9:49 And
all the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech,
and put them to the hold, and set the hold on
fire upon them; so that all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a
thousand men and women.
07-10:4 And
he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass
colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havothjair unto this day,
which are in the land of Gilead.
07-10:8 And
that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all
the children of Israel that were on the other side
Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
07-11:18 Then
they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the
land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the
border of Moab: for Arnon was the border of Moab.
07-12:14 And
he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on
threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.
07-13:5 For,
lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto
God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the
Philistines.
07-13:19 So
Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the
LORD: and the angel did wonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.
07-13:20 For
it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that
the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his
wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
07-14:9 And
he took thereof in his hands, and went on
eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat:
but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.
07-14:15 And
it came to pass on the seventh day, that they
said unto Samson’s wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the
riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us
to take that we have? is it not so?
07-14:17 And
she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to
pass on the seventh day, that he told her,
because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her
people.
07-14:18 And
the men of the city said unto him on the seventh
day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? and what is stronger
than a lion? And he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye had
not found out my riddle.
07-15:5 And
when he had set the brands on fire, he let them
go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and
also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives.
07-15:18 And
he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and
said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and
now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?
07-16:29 And
Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right
hand, and of the other with his left.
07-19:1 And
it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was
a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount
Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
07-19:5 And
it came to pass on the fourth day, when they
arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel’s father
said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and
afterward go your way.
07-19:8 And
he arose early in the morning on the fifth day
to depart: and the damsel’s father said, Comfort thine heart, I pray thee. And
they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.
07-19:9 And
when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his
father in law, the damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth
toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end,
lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
07-19:14 And
they passed on and went their way; and the sun
went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongeth to Benjamin.
07-19:29 And
when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her
bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.
07-20:30 And
the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against
Gibeah, as at other times.
07-20:48 And
the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them
with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and
all that came to hand: also they set on fire all
the cities that they came to.
07-21:4 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that the people
rose early, and built there an altar, and offered burnt offerings and peace
offerings.
07-21:19 Then
they said, Behold, there is a feast of the LORD in Shiloh yearly in a place
which is on the north side of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goeth up from
Bethel to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
08-1:7 Wherefore
she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law
with her; and they went on the way to return unto
the land of Judah.
08-2:3 And
she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was
to light on a part of the field belonging unto
Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
08-2:9 Let
thine eyes be on the field that they do reap,
and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not
touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that
which the young men have drawn.
08-2:10 Then
she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the
ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou
shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
08-3:15 Also
he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she
held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
09-1:11 And
she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me,
and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child,
then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no
razor come upon his head.
09-2:26 And
the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both
with the LORD, and also with men.
09-2:34 And
this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both
of them.
09-5:3 And
when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow,
behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD.
And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
09-5:4 And
when they arose early on the morrow morning,
behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the
LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon
the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
09-5:5 Therefore
neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.
09-6:4 Then
said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him?
They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the
number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your
lords.
09-6:7 Now
therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on
which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their
calves home from them:
09-6:15 And
the Levites took down the ark of the LORD, and the coffer that was with it,
wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on
the great stone: and the men of Bethshemesh offered burnt offerings and
sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the LORD.
09-7:6 And
they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the
LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We
have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in
Mizpeh.
09-7:10 And
as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to
battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited
them; and they were smitten before Israel.
09-9:20 And
as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy
father’s house?
09-9:27 And
as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the
servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee
the word of God.
09-10:3 Then
shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou
shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up
to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of
bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:
09-11:2 And
Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this
condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right
eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.
09-11:7 And
he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all
the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not
forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the
fear of the LORD fell on the people, and they came
out with one consent.
09-11:11 And
it was so on the morrow, that Saul put the
people in three companies; and they came into the midst of the host in the
morning watch, and slew the Ammonites until the heat of the day: and it came to
pass, that they which remained were scattered, so that two of them were not
left together.
09-12:11 And
the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you
out of the hand of your enemies on every side,
and ye dwelled safe.
09-13:5 And
the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty
thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and
pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.
09-14:1 Now
it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young
man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines’
garrison, that is on the other side. But he told
not his father.
09-14:4 And
between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines’
garrison, there was a sharp rock on the one
side, and a sharp rock on the other side: and
the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
09-14:16 And
the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude
melted away, and they went on beating down one
another.
09-14:19 And
it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the noise that was in
the host of the Philistines went on and
increased: and Saul said unto the priest, Withdraw thine hand.
09-14:24 And
the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people,
saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be
avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people
tasted any food.
09-14:32 And
the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew
them on the ground: and the people did eat them
with the blood.
09-14:40 Then
said he unto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and
I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side.
And the people said unto Saul, Do what seemeth good unto thee.
09-14:47 So
Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children
of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the
Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them.
09-15:12 And
when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying,
Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and
passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
09-15:16 Then
Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me
this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
09-15:18 And
the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go
and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until
they be consumed.
09-16:6 And
it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on
Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord’s anointed is before him.
09-16:7 But
the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his
countenance, or on the height of his stature;
because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man
looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD
looketh on the heart.
09-16:16 Let
our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man,
who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall
come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play
with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
09-17:3 And
the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the
other side: and there was a valley between them.
09-17:41 And
the Philistine came on and drew near unto David;
and the man that bare the shield went before him.
09-18:10 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil
spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house:
and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in
Saul’s hand.
09-18:24 And
the servants of Saul told him, saying, On this
manner spake David.
09-19:23 And
he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the spirit of God was upon him also,
and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to
Naioth in Ramah.
09-20:20 And
I will shoot three arrows on the side thereof,
as though I shot at a mark.
09-20:21 And,
behold, I will send a lad, saying, Go, find out the arrows. If I expressly say
unto the lad, Behold, the arrows are on this
side of thee, take them; then come thou: for there is peace to thee, and no
hurt; as the LORD liveth.
09-20:27 And
it came to pass on the morrow, which was the
second day of the month, that David’s place was empty: and Saul said unto
Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither
yesterday, nor to day?
09-20:41 And
as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and
fell on his face to the ground, and bowed
himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another,
until David exceeded.
09-21:13 And
he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands,
and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let
his spittle fall down upon his beard.
09-22:18 And
the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the
Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on
that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
09-23:19 Then
came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself
with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?
09-23:21 And
Saul said, Blessed be ye of the LORD; for ye have compassion on me.
09-23:24 And
they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the
wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of
Jeshimon.
09-23:26 And
Saul went on this side of the mountain, and
David and his men on that side of the mountain:
and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men
compassed David and his men round about to take them.
09-24:7 So
David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise
against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
09-25:13 And
David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man
his sword. And they girded on every man his
sword; and David also girded on his sword: and
there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the
stuff.
09-25:14 But
one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, Behold, David sent
messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them.
09-25:18 Then
Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two bottles of wine, and
five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of parched corn, and an hundred
clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on asses.
09-25:19 And
she said unto her servants, Go on before me;
behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal.
09-25:20 And
it was so, as she rode on the ass, that she came
down by the covert on the hill, and, behold,
David and his men came down against her; and she met them.
09-25:23 And
when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the ass, and fell before
David on her face, and bowed herself to the
ground,
09-25:41 And
she arose, and bowed herself on her face to the
earth, and said, Behold, let thine handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of
the servants of my lord.
09-26:13 Then
David went over to the other side, and stood on
the top of an hill afar off; a great space being between them:
09-26:25 Then
Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt both do great
things, and also shalt still prevail. So David went on
his way, and Saul returned to his place.
09-27:11 And
David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest
they should tell on us, saying, So did David,
and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
09-28:8 And
Saul disguised himself, and put on other
raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by
night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and
bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.
09-28:20 Then
Saul fell straightway all along on the earth,
and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength
in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
09-28:22 Now
therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and
let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have
strength, when thou goest on thy way.
09-29:2 And
the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds,
and by thousands: but David and his men passed on
in the rereward with Achish.
09-30:1 And
it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the
south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
09-30:2 And
had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either
great or small, but carried them away, and went on
their way.
09-31:7 And
when the men of Israel that were on the other
side of the valley, and they that were on the
other side Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons
were dead, they forsook the cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and
dwelt in them.
09-31:8 And
it came to pass on the morrow, when the
Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his three sons
fallen in mount Gilboa.
10-1:2 It
came even to pass on the third day, that,
behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon
his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and
did obeisance.
10-1:10 So
I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after
that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the
bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought
them hither unto my lord.
10-1:11 Then
David took hold on his clothes, and rent them;
and likewise all the men that were with him:
10-1:24 Ye
daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other
delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your
apparel.
10-2:13 And
Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together
by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on
the one side of the pool, and the other on the
other side of the pool.
10-2:21 And
Abner said to him, Turn thee aside to thy right hand or to thy left, and lay
thee hold on one of the young men, and take thee
his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.
10-2:25 And
the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became
one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.
10-3:12 And
Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf,
saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold,
my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.
10-3:29 Let
it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father’s house; and let there not fail from
the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on
the sword, or that lacketh bread.
10-4:5 And
the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the
heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth, who lay on
a bed at noon.
10-4:7 For
when they came into the house, he lay on his bed
in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took
his head, and gat them away through the plain all night.
10-5:8 And
David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the
gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated
of David’s soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind
and the lame shall not come into the house.
10-5:10 And
David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God
of hosts was with him.
10-6:5 And
David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on
psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on
cymbals.
10-8:7 And
David took the shields of gold that were on the
servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
10-9:3 And
the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the
kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son,
which is lame on his feet.
10-9:6 Now
when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David,
he fell on his face, and did reverence. And
David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
10-9:13 So
Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s
table; and was lame on both his feet.
10-11:13 And
when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him
drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed
with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
10-12:18 And
it came to pass on the seventh day, that the
child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was
dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and
he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell
him that the child is dead?
10-12:30 And
he took their king’s crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent
of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on
David’s head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.
10-13:5 And
Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed,
and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I
pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my
sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.
10-13:19 And
Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her
garment of divers colours that was on her, and
laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.
10-13:31 Then
the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on
the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.
10-14:2 And
Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray
thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on
now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that
had a long time mourned for the dead:
10-14:3 And
come to the king, and speak on this manner unto
him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.
10-14:4 And
when the woman of Tekoah spake to the king, she fell on
her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.
10-14:9 And
the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my
father’s house: and the king and his throne be guiltless.
10-14:12 Then
the woman said, Let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak one word unto my lord
the king. And he said, Say on.
10-14:14 For
we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the
ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person:
yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
10-14:22 And
Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed
himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I
have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled
the request of his servant.
10-14:26 And
when he polled his head, (for it was at every year’s end that he polled it:
because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he
polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the
king’s weight.
10-14:30 Therefore
he said unto his servants, See, Joab’s field is near mine, and he hath barley
there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom’s
servants set the field on fire.
10-14:31 Then
Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house, and said unto him, Wherefore
have thy servants set my field on fire?
10-14:33 So
Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he
came to the king, and bowed himself on his face
to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.
10-15:6 And
on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that
came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of
Israel.
10-15:18 And
all his servants passed on beside him; and all
the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men
which came after him from Gath, passed on before
the king.
10-15:33 Unto
whom David said, If thou passest on with me,
then thou shalt be a burden unto me:
10-16:2 And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.
10-16:6 And
he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the
people and all the mighty men were on his right
hand and on his left.
10-16:12 It
may be that the LORD will look on mine
affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.
10-16:13 And
as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill’s side over against him, and cursed as he went, and
threw stones at him, and cast dust.
10-17:12 So
shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light
upon him as the dew falleth on the ground: and
of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as
one.
10-19:40 Then
the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him: and all the people of Judah conducted the
king, and also half the people of Israel.
10-20:8 When
they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And
Joab’s garment that he had put on was girded unto
him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath
thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.
10-20:13 When
he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on
after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
10-21:10 And
Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the
rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of
heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
10-21:20 And
there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was
born to the giant.
10-22:4 I
will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be
praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
10-22:49 And
that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast
delivered me from the violent man.
10-23:1 Now
these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who
was raised up on high, the anointed of the God
of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
10-24:5 And
they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on
the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the river of Gad, and
toward Jazer:
10-24:20 And
Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself
before the king on his face upon the ground.
11-1:20 And
thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou
shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne
of my lord the king after him.
11-1:27 Is
this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant,
who should sit on the throne of my lord the king
after him?
11-1:46 And
also Solomon sitteth on the throne of the
kingdom.
11-1:48 And
also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which hath given
one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even
seeing it.
11-1:50 And
Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
11-1:51 And
it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he
hath caught hold on the horns of the altar,
saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant
with the sword.
11-2:4 That
the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy
children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their
heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.
11-2:5 Moreover
thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to
the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto
Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and
put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes
that were on his feet.
11-2:14 He
said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on.
11-2:15 And
he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their
faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the
kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother’s: for it was his from the
LORD.
11-2:16 And
now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.
11-2:19 Bathsheba
therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king
rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the
king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand.
11-2:20 Then
she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And
the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I
will not say thee nay.
11-2:24 Now
therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me
an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.
11-2:28 Then
tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not
after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
11-2:37 For
it shall be, that on the day thou goest out, and
passest over the brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt
surely die: thy blood shall be upon thine own head.
11-2:42 And
the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to
swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any
whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I
have heard is good.
11-3:6 And
Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy,
according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in
uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness,
that thou hast given him a son to sit on his
throne, as it is this day.
11-4:24 For
he had dominion over all the region on this side
the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
11-4:29 And
God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of
heart, even as the sand that is on the sea
shore.
11-5:3 Thou
knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the
LORD his God for the wars which were about him on
every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
11-5:4 But
now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every
side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
11-6:10 And
then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested
on the house with timber of cedar.
11-6:15 And
he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of
the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the
house with planks of fir.
11-6:16 And
he built twenty cubits on the sides of the
house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them
for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.
11-7:3 And
it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.
11-7:9 All
these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed
with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so
on the outside toward the great court.
11-7:28 And
the work of the bases was on this manner: they
had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:
11-7:29 And
on the borders that were between the ledges were
lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and
beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.
11-7:35 And
in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the
borders thereof were of the same.
11-7:36 For
on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions,
and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round
about.
11-7:39 And
he put five bases on the right side of the
house, and five on the left side of the house:
and he set the sea on the right side of the
house eastward over against the south.
11-7:41 The
two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks,
to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars;
11-7:43 And
the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;
11-7:49 And
the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right
side, and five on the left, before the oracle,
with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,
11-8:20 And
the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room
of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel,
as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of
Israel.
11-8:23 And
he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with
thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
11-8:25 Therefore
now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou
promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed
to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
11-8:27 But
will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the
heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that
I have builded?
11-8:50 And
forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions
wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before
them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:
11-8:54 And
it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and
supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from
kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up
to heaven.
11-8:66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed
the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the
goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his
people.
11-9:26 And
king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.
11-10:9 Blessed
be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel
for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.
11-10:19 The
throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there
were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside
the stays.
11-10:20 And
twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the
like made in any kingdom.
11-11:30 And
Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him,
and rent it in twelve pieces:
11-12:32 And
Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on
the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he
offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that
he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he
had made.
11-13:4 And
it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which
had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the
altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand,
which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again
to him.
11-14:23 For
they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
11-16:11 And
it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha:
he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor
of his friends.
11-16:24 And
he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he
built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
11-18:7 And
as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah?
11-18:23 Let
them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for
themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on
wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
11-18:24 And
call ye on the name of your gods, and I will
call on the name of the LORD: and the God that
answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is
well spoken.
11-18:25 And
Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves,
and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on
the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
11-18:26 And
they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon,
saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And
they leaped upon the altar which was made.
11-18:33 And
he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water,
and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
11-18:39 And
when all the people saw it, they fell on their
faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.
11-18:46 And
the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded
up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
11-19:6 And
he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on
the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid
him down again.
11-19:15 And
the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to
the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over
Syria:
11-20:11 And
the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it
off.
11-20:20 And
they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and
Benhadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse
with the horsemen.
11-20:31 And
his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the
house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to
the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.
11-20:32 So
they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put
ropes on their heads, and came to the king of
Israel, and said, Thy servant Benhadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he
said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
11-21:9 And
she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
11-21:12 They
proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among
the people.
11-22:10 And
the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on
their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all
the prophets prophesied before them.
11-22:19 And
he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by
him on his right hand and on his left.
11-22:20 And
the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at
Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and
another said on that manner.
11-22:24 But
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the spirit of
the LORD from me to speak unto thee?
11-22:30 And
the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter
into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And
the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
12-1:4 Now
therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And
Elijah departed.
12-1:6 And
they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn
again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it
not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of
Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
12-1:9 Then
the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to
him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill.
And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.
12-1:13 And
he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third
captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on
his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I
pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious
in thy sight.
12-1:16 And
he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers
to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in
Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
12-2:6 And
Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to
Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not
leave thee. And they two went on.
12-2:8 And
Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they
were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
12-2:11 And
it came to pass, as they still went on, and
talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and
parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12-2:15 And
when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said,
The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And
they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
12-2:24 And
he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed
them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the
wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
12-3:11 But
Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire
of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said,
Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on
the hands of Elijah.
12-3:21 And
when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them,
they gathered all that were able to put on
armour, and upward, and stood in the border.
12-3:22 And
they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the
Moabites saw the water on the other side as red
as blood:
12-3:25 And
they beat down the cities, and on every good
piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the
wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kirharaseth left they
the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.
12-4:8 And
it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem,
where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was,
that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
12-4:10 Let
us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the
wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a
candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in
thither.
12-4:11 And
it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he
turned into the chamber, and lay there.
12-4:18 And
when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that
he went out to his father to the reapers.
12-4:20 And
when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.
12-4:21 And
she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man
of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.
12-4:31 And
Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff
upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore
he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.
12-4:38 And
Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons
of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of
the prophets.
12-5:2 And
the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the
land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on
Naaman’s wife.
12-5:11 But
Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely
come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of
the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
12-5:18 In
this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the
house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on
my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the
house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.
12-6:29 So
we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on
the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.
12-6:31 Then
he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of
Shaphat shall stand on him this day.
12-7:2 Then
a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered
the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven,
might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes,
but shalt not eat thereof.
12-7:17 And
the king appointed the lord on whose hand he
leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the
gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came
down to him.
12-8:12 And
Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that
thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the
sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.
12-8:15 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a
thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on
his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
12-9:3 Then
take the box of oil, and pour it on his head,
and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open
the door, and flee, and tarry not.
12-9:6 And
he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD
God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over
Israel.
12-9:13 Then
they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets,
saying, Jehu is king.
12-9:17 And
there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel,
and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And
Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it
peace?
12-9:18 So
there went one on horseback to meet him, and
said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do
with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger
came to them, but he cometh not again.
12-9:19 Then
he sent out a second on horseback, which came to
them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast
thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
12-9:32 And
he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on
my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
12-9:33 And
he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was
sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
12-10:3 Look
even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on
his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.
12-10:15 And
when he was departed thence, he lighted on
Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to
meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my
heart is with thy heart? And
Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me
thine hand. And he gave him his
hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
12-10:30 And
the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab
according to all that was in mine
heart, thy children of the fourth generation
shall sit on the throne of Israel.
12-11:5 And
he commanded them, saying, This is the
thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of
the king’s house;
12-11:7 And
two parts of all you that go forth on the
sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the
king.
12-11:9 And
the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man
his men that were to come in on the sabbath,
with them that should go out on the sabbath, and
came to Jehoiada the priest.
12-11:16 And
they laid hands on her; and she went by the way
by the which the horses came into the king’s house: and there was she slain.
12-11:19 And
he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the
people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD,
and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.
12-12:9 But
Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it
beside the altar, on the right side as one
cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put
therein all the money that was brought
into the house of the LORD.
12-12:15 Moreover
they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be
bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
12-13:21 And
it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the
sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of
Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
12-13:23 And
the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on
them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence
as yet.
12-14:4 Howbeit
the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt
incense on the high places.
12-14:20 And
they brought him on horses: and he was buried at
Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
12-15:4 Save
that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense
still on the high places.
12-15:12 This
was the word of the LORD which he
spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on
the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation.
And so it came to pass.
12-16:4 And
he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
12-16:14 And
he brought also the brasen altar, which was
before the LORD, from the forefront of the house, from between the altar
and the house of the LORD, and put it on the
north side of the altar.
12-18:14 And
Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have
offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on
me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah
three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
12-18:20 Thou
sayest, (but they are but vain
words), I have counsel and strength
for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that
thou rebellest against me?
12-18:21 Now,
behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man
lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
12-18:23 Now
therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will
deliver thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on
thy part to set riders upon them.
12-18:24 How
then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s
servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for
chariots and for horsemen?
12-18:26 Then
said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I
pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews’
language in the ears of the people that are
on the wall.
12-18:27 But
Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to
speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and
drink their own piss with you?
12-19:22 Whom
hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against
the Holy One of Israel.
12-19:26 Therefore
their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they
were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
12-20:5 Turn
again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God
of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I
will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go
up unto the house of the LORD.
12-20:7 And
Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
12-23:8 And
he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high
places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba, and brake
down the high places of the gates that were
in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a
man’s left hand at the gate of the city.
12-23:12 And
the altars that were on the top of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the
kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two
courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and brake them down from thence, and cast the dust
of them into the brook Kidron.
12-23:13 And
the high places that were before
Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which
Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the
Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the
abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.
12-25:3 And
on the ninth day
of the fourth month the famine
prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.
12-25:8 And
in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a
servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
12-25:27 And
it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin
king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the
seven and twentieth day of the month,
that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in
the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of
Judah out of prison;
13-4:10 And
Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh
that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand
might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that
which he requested.
13-6:32 And
they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation
with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.
13-6:39 And
his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berachiah, the son
of Shimea,
13-6:44 And
their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of
Abdi, the son of Malluch,
13-6:49 But
Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to
all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
13-6:78 And
on the other side Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of Jordan, were given them out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness
with her suburbs, and Jahzah with her suburbs,
13-10:5 And
when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
13-10:8 And
it came to pass on the morrow, when the
Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen
in mount Gilboa.
13-12:18 Then
the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief
of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth
thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
13-12:37 And
on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites,
and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of
instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.
13-12:40 Moreover
they that were nigh them, even unto
Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on
asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches
of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.
13-13:6 And
David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that
is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to
Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is
called on
it.
13-14:2 And
David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his
kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his
people Israel.
13-15:20 And
Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and
Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on
Alamoth;
13-15:21 And
Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah,
with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
13-16:7 Then
on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the
hand of Asaph and his brethren.
13-18:7 And
David took the shields of gold that were on the
servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
13-20:6 And
yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the
son of the giant.
13-21:17 And
David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be
numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done?
let thine hand, I pray thee, O LORD my God, be on
me, and on my father’s house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued.
13-22:18 Is not the LORD your God with you? and
hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of
the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before
his people.
13-23:28 Because
their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of
the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy
things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
13-23:31 And
to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons,
and on the set feasts, by number, according to
the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:
13-26:30 And of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his
brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of Israel on
this side Jordan westward in all the business of the LORD, and in the service
of the king.
13-29:15 For
we are strangers before thee, and
sojourners, as were all our fathers:
our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is
none abiding.
13-29:21 And
they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the
LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand
rams, and a thousand lambs, with
their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel:
13-29:22 And
did eat and drink before the LORD on that day
with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second
time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest.
13-29:23 Then
Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king
instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
13-29:25 And
the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed
upon him such royal majesty as had
not been on any king before him in Israel.
14-2:4 Behold,
I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual
shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on
the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the
LORD our God. This is an ordinance for
ever to Israel.
14-3:7 He
overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the
doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on
the walls.
14-3:13 The
wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward.
14-3:15 Also
he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter
that was on
the top of each of them was five
cubits.
14-3:16 And
he made chains, as in the oracle, and
put them on
the heads of the pillars; and made an hundred pomegranates, and put them on
the chains.
14-3:17 And
he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on
the right hand, and the other on the left; and
called the name of that on the right hand
Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
14-4:6 He
made also ten lavers, and put five on the right
hand, and five on the left, to wash in them:
such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them; but the
sea was for the priests to wash in.
14-4:7 And
he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form, and set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on
the left.
14-4:8 He
made also ten tables, and placed them in
the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. And he made an hundred basons of gold.
14-4:10 And
he set the sea on the right side of the east
end, over against the south.
14-4:12 To wit, the two pillars, and the
pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to
cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars;
14-4:13 And
four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths;
two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to
cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars.
14-6:10 The
LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up
in the room of David my father, and am set on
the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the
name of the LORD God of Israel.
14-6:18 But
will God in very deed dwell with men on the
earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much
less this house which I have built!
14-7:6 And
the priests waited on their offices: the Levites
also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to
praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth
for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded
trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.
14-7:10 And
on the three and twentieth day of the seventh
month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the
goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his
people.
14-7:22 And
it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which
brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them:
therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
14-8:12 Then
Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the LORD on
the altar of the LORD, which he had built before the porch,
14-8:13 Even
after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses,
on the sabbaths, and on
the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three
times in the year, even in the feast
of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of
tabernacles.
14-9:8 Blessed
be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to
be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish
them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and
justice.
14-9:18 And
there were six steps to the throne,
with a footstool of gold, which were fastened
to the throne, and stays on each side of the
sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:
14-9:19 And
twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the
like made in any kingdom.
14-10:12 So
Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on
the third day, as the king bade, saying, Come again to me on the third day.
14-11:12 And
in every several city he put shields
and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.
14-14:7 Therefore
he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars,
while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have
sought him, and he hath given us rest
on every side. So they built and prospered.
14-14:11 And
Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them
that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude.
O LORD, thou art our God; let not man
prevail against thee.
14-16:7 And
at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him,
Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria,
and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is
the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
14-16:8 Were
not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and
horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the
LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.
14-17:19 These
waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah.
14-18:9 And
the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the
gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
14-18:18 Again
he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his
throne, and all the host of heaven standing on
his right hand and on his left.
14-18:24 And
Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day
when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
14-18:29 And
the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go
to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the
king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
14-20:2 Then
there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude
against thee from beyond the sea on this side
Syria; and, behold, they be in
Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
14-20:19 And
the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the
Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
14-20:26 And
on the fourth day they assembled themselves in
the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of
the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.
14-20:29 And
the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard
that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
14-23:4 This
is the thing that ye shall do; A
third part of you entering on the sabbath, of
the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters
of the doors;
14-23:8 So
the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest
had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go out on
the sabbath: for Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses.
14-23:15 So
they laid hands on her; and when she was come to
the entering of the horse gate by the king’s house, they slew her there.
14-24:25 And
when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his
own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the
priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died:
and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the
sepulchres of the kings.
14-26:15 And
he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows
and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was
marvellously helped, till he was strong.
14-27:3 He
built the high gate of the house of the LORD, and on
the wall of Ophel he built much.
14-28:4 He
sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
14-29:17 Now
they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on
the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the LORD: so they
sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the
first month they made an end.
14-29:21 And
they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he
goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for
Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on
the altar of the LORD.
14-29:22 So
they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the
altar: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon
the altar: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the
altar.
14-30:15 Then
they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests
and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the
burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.
14-32:15 Now
therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of
any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out
of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine
hand?
14-32:17 He
wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of
Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their
people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people
out of mine hand.
14-32:18 Then
they cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ speech unto the people of Jerusalem
that were on
the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.
14-32:22 Thus
the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of
Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every
side.
14-33:14 Now
after this he built a wall without the city of David, on
the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate,
and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put
captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
14-34:4 And
they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high
above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten
images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of
them, and strowed it upon the
graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.
14-35:1 Moreover
Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover
on the fourteenth day of the first month.
14-36:15 And
the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up
betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on
his people, and on his dwelling place:
15-4:10 And
the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Asnapper brought over, and set
in the cities of Samaria, and the rest that
are on this side the river, and at such a
time.
15-4:11 This
is the copy of the letter that they sent
unto him, even unto Artaxerxes the
king; Thy servants the men on this side the
river, and at such a time.
15-4:16 We
certify the king that, if this city be builded again, and the walls thereof set up, by this means thou shalt have
no portion on this side the river.
15-5:3 At
the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on
this side the river, and Shetharboznai, and their companions, and said thus
unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this
wall?
15-5:6 The
copy of the letter that Tatnai, governor on this
side the river, and Shetharboznai, and his companions the Apharsachites, which were on
this side the river, sent unto Darius the king:
15-5:8 Be
it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house
of the great God, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the
walls, and this work goeth fast on, and
prospereth in their hands.
15-6:13 Then
Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai,
and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they
did speedily.
15-6:15 And
this house was finished on the third day of the
month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
15-7:9 For
upon the first day of the first month
began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first
day of the fifth month came he to
Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
15-8:31 Then
we departed from the river of Ahava on the
twelfth day of the first month, to go
unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from
the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.
15-8:33 Now
on the fourth day was the silver and the gold
and the vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son
of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar
the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad
the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
15-8:36 And
they delivered the king’s commissions unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the
governors on this side the river: and they
furthered the people, and the house of God.
15-10:9 Then
all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem
within three days. It was the ninth
month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house
of God, trembling because of this matter,
and for the great rain.
16-2:14 Then
I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to
the king’s pool: but there was no
place for the beast that was under me
to pass.
16-3:7 And
next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the
men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.
16-3:13 The
valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and
set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a
thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
16-4:13 Therefore
set I in the lower places behind the wall, and
on the higher places, I even set the people
after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.
16-4:17 They
which builded on the wall, and they that bare
burdens, with those that laded, every one
with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.
16-4:22 Likewise
at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge
within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.
16-6:14 My
God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the
prophets, that would have put me in fear.
16-8:4 And
Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the
purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah,
and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand;
and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and
Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
16-8:13 And
on the second day were gathered together the
chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra
the scribe, even to understand the words of the law.
16-8:18 Also
day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the
law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on
the eighth day was a solemn assembly,
according unto the manner.
16-9:10 And
shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on
all his servants, and on all the people of his
land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get
thee a name, as it is this day.
16-9:11 And
thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of
the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou
threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.
16-9:32 Now
therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest
covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath
come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on
our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on
all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
16-10:31 And
if the people of the land bring ware
or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on
the holy day: and that we would leave
the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.
16-12:31 Then
I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:
16-13:1 On that day they read in the book of Moses in the
audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and
the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;
16-13:15 In
those days saw I in Judah some treading
wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in
sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought
into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I
testified against them in the day
wherein they sold victuals.
16-13:16 There
dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and
sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah,
and in Jerusalem.
16-13:19 And
it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the
sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they
should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on
the sabbath day.
16-13:21 Then
I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if
ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on
the sabbath.
17-1:2 That in those days, when the king
Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom,
which was in Shushan the palace,
17-1:10 On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was
merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha,
Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of
Ahasuerus the king,
17-1:11 To
bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people
and the princes her beauty: for she was fair
to look on.
17-2:14 In
the evening she went, and on the morrow she
returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the
king’s chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no
more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.
17-2:21 In
those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s
chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and
sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.
17-2:23 And
when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were
both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the
book of the chronicles before the king.
17-3:6 And
he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone;
for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to
destroy all the Jews that were throughout
the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the
people of Mordecai.
17-3:12 Then
were the king’s scribes called on the thirteenth
day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had
commanded unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the
rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in
the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king’s ring.
17-4:1 When
Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst
of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
17-5:1 Now
it came to pass on the third day, that Esther
put on her
royal apparel, and stood in the
inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat
upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
17-6:1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he
commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read
before the king.
17-6:2 And
it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the
king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.
17-6:4 And
the king said, Who is in the court?
Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king’s house, to speak unto
the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he
had prepared for him.
17-6:9 And
let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most
noble princes, that they may array the man withal
whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on
horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall
it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour.
17-6:11 Then
took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and
proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king
delighteth to honour.
17-7:2 And
the king said again unto Esther on the second
day at the banquet of wine, What is thy
petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be
performed, even to the half of the
kingdom.
17-7:10 So
they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had
prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.
17-8:1 On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of
Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king;
for Esther had told what he was unto
her.
17-8:9 Then
were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai
commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of
the provinces which are from India
unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province
according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language,
and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
17-8:10 And
he wrote in the king Ahasuerus’ name, and sealed it with the king’s ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and
riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries:
17-8:13 The
copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that
the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.
17-8:14 So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and
pressed on by the king’s commandment. And the
decree was given at Shushan the palace.
17-9:1 Now
in the twelfth month, that is, the
month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same,
when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in
the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it
was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)
17-9:2 The
Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces
of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought
their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all
people.
17-9:10 The
ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand.
17-9:11 On that day the number of those that were slain in
Shushan the palace was brought before the king.
17-9:15 For
the Jews that were in Shushan
gathered themselves together on the fourteenth
day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.
17-9:16 But
the other Jews that were in the
king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and
had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand,
but they laid not their hands on the prey,
17-9:17 On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and
made it a day of feasting and gladness.
17-9:18 But
the Jews that were at Shushan
assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on
the fifteenth day of the same they
rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
17-9:25 But
when Esther came before the king, he
commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews,
should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.
18-1:10 Hast
not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he
hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work
of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
18-4:13 In
thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,
18-5:11 To
set up on high those that be low; that those
which mourn may be exalted to safety.
18-9:11 Lo,
he goeth by me, and I see him not: he
passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
18-13:13 Hold
your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.
18-15:26 He
runneth upon him, even on his neck,
upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
18-15:27 Because
he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.
18-16:16 My
face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
18-16:19 Also
now, behold, my witness is in heaven,
and my record is on high.
18-17:9 The
righteous also shall hold on his way, and he
that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
18-18:11 Terrors
shall make him afraid on every side, and shall
drive him to his feet.
18-19:10 He
hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone:
and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
18-21:3 Suffer
me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
18-21:6 Even
when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on
my flesh.
18-23:9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold
him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
18-24:20 The
womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on
him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
18-27:17 He
may prepare it, but the just shall
put it on,
and the innocent shall divide the silver.
18-27:20 Terrors
take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth
him away in the night.
18-29:9 The
princes refrained talking, and laid their
hand on their mouth.
18-29:14 I
put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my
judgment was as a robe and a diadem.
18-29:24 If I laughed on
them, they believed it not; and the
light of my countenance they cast not down.
18-31:2 For
what portion of God is there from
above? and what inheritance of the Almighty
from on high?
18-36:2 Suffer
me a little, and I will shew thee that I
have yet to speak on God’s behalf.
18-36:7 He
withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on
the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
18-36:16 Even
so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there
is no straitness; and that which should be set on
thy table should be full of fatness.
18-36:17 But
thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
18-37:6 For

24-48:11 Moab
hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on
his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone
into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not
changed.

Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings:
they are fainthearted; there is sorrow
on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

is waxed feeble, and turneth herself
to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her,
as a woman in travail.

tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves
their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry
unto them, Fear is on every side.
24-50:6 My
people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray,
they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to
hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied
upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of
a lion, on the right side: and they four had the
face of an ox on the left side; they four also
had the face of an eagle.

under the firmament were their wings
straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
26-3:23 Then
I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD
stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
26-4:6 And
when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on
thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty
days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
26-7:16 But
they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on
the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for
his iniquity.
26-10:3 Now
the cherubims stood on the right side of the
house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
26-11:23 And
the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the
mountain which is on the east side of the city.

decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a
chain on thy neck.

give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and

mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers
have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?
26-19:8 Then
the nations set against him on every side from
the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.

thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or
on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.

Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the
Assyrians her neighbours,

utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:
26-24:10 Heap
on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and
spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
26-24:17 Forbear
to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee,
and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover
not thy lips, and eat not the bread
of men.
26-25:9 Therefore,
behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on
his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and
Kiriathaim,
26-26:17 And
they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed,
that wast inhabited of seafaring men,
the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which
cause their terror to be on all that haunt it!
26-28:23 For
I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded
shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
26-31:4 The
waters made him great, the deep set him up on
high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers
unto all the trees of the field.
26-33:32 And,
lo, thou art unto them as a very
lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do
them not.
26-36:3 Therefore
prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the
residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of
Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that
dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the
bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they
shall burn them with fire seven years:
26-39:11 And
it shall come to pass in that day, that I
will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the
passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall
stop the noses of the passengers: and
there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
26-39:17 And,
thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and
to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for
you, even a great sacrifice upon the
mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
26-40:2 In
the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a
very high mountain, by which was as
the frame of a city on the south.
26-40:5 And
behold a wall on the outside of the house round
about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth:
so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.
26-40:10 And
the little chambers of the gate eastward were
three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on
that side.
26-40:12 The
space also before the little chambers was
one cubit on
this side, and the space was one
cubit on that side: and the little chambers were six cubits on
this side, and six cubits on that side.
26-40:21 And
the little chambers thereof were three
on this side and three on
that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure
of the first gate: the length thereof was
fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
26-40:26 And
there were seven steps to go up to
it, and the arches thereof were before
them: and it had palm trees, one on this side,
and another on that side, upon the posts
thereof.
26-40:34 And
the arches thereof were toward the outward
court; and palm trees were upon the
posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps.
26-40:37 And
the posts thereof were toward the
utter court; and palm trees were upon
the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps.
26-40:39 And
in the porch of the gate were two
tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and
the sin offering and the trespass offering.
26-40:40 And
at the side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the porch of the gate, were
two tables.
26-40:41 Four
tables were on
this side, and four tables on that side, by the
side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew their sacrifices.
26-40:48 And
he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on
this side, and five cubits on that side: and the
breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.
26-40:49 The
length of the porch was twenty
cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; and he
brought me by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on
that side.
26-41:1 Afterward
he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which
was the breadth of the tabernacle.
26-41:2 And
the breadth of the door was ten
cubits: and the sides of the door were five
cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof,
forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits.
26-41:5 After
he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the breadth of every side chamber, four cubits, round
about the house on every side.
26-41:10 And
between the chambers was the wideness
of twenty cubits round about the house on every
side.
26-41:15 And
he measured the length of the building over against the separate place which was behind it, and the galleries thereof
on the one side and on
the other side, an hundred cubits, with the inner temple, and the porches of
the court;
26-41:16 The
door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled
with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered;
26-41:19 So
that the face of a man was toward the
palm tree on the one side, and the face of a
young lion toward the palm tree on the other
side: it was made through all the
house round about.
26-41:20 From
the ground unto above the door were cherubims
and palm trees made, and on the wall of the temple.
26-41:25 And
there were made on them, on the doors
of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there
were thick planks upon the face of the porch without.
26-41:26 And
there were narrow windows and palm
trees on the one side and on the other side, on
the sides of the porch, and upon the side
chambers of the house, and thick planks.
26-42:7 And
the wall that was without over
against the chambers, toward the utter court on
the forepart of the chambers, the length thereof was fifty cubits.
26-42:9 And
from under these chambers was the
entry on the east side, as one goeth into them
from the utter court.
26-42:14 When
the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the utter court, but there
they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people.
26-43:20 And
thou shalt take of the blood thereof, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the settle, and upon the border
round about: thus shalt thou cleanse and purge it.
26-43:22 And
on the second day thou shalt offer a kid of the
goats without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as
they did cleanse it with the bullock.
26-44:19 And
when they go forth into the utter court, even
into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments
wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the
people with their garments.
26-45:7 And
a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on
the other side of the oblation of the holy portion,
and of the possession of the city, before the oblation of the holy portion, and before the possession of
the city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: and the
length shall be over against one of
the portions, from the west border unto the east border.
26-46:1 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east
shall be shut the six working days; but on the
sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
26-46:12 Now
when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings
voluntarily unto the LORD, one shall
then open him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his
burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on
the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate.
26-46:19 After
he brought me through the entry, which was
at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers of the priests, which
looked toward the north: and, behold, there was
a place on the two sides westward.
26-47:2 Then
brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way
without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold,
there ran out waters on the right side.
26-47:7 Now
when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side
and on the other.
26-47:12 And
by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side
and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat,
whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it
shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they
issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the
leaf thereof for medicine.
26-48:16 And
these shall be the measures thereof;
the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand
and five hundred, and on the east side four
thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred.
26-48:21 And
the residue shall be for the prince, on the one side and on
the other of the holy oblation, and of the possession of the city, over against
the five and twenty thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and
westward over against the five and twenty thousand toward the west border, over
against the portions for the prince: and it shall be the holy oblation; and the
sanctuary of the house shall be in
the midst thereof.
26-48:30 And
these are the goings out of the city on the north side, four thousand and five hundred
measures.
27-3:27 And
the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being
gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor
was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the
smell of fire had passed on them.
27-6:14 Then
the king, when he heard these words,
was sore displeased with himself, and set his
heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he
laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
27-7:5 And
behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it
had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said
thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
27-8:5 And
as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the
ground: and the goat had a notable
horn between his eyes.
27-8:18 Now
as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on
my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
27-10:9 Yet
heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then
was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face
toward the ground.
27-11:17 He
shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and
upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of
women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
27-11:31 And
arms shall stand on his part, and they shall
pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the
abomination that maketh desolate.
27-12:5 Then
I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
28-4:8 They
eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on
their iniquity.
28-5:1 Hear
ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house
of the king; for judgment is toward
you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and
a net spread upon Tabor.
28-6:3 Then
shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as
the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
28-10:5 The
inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the
people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on
it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.
28-10:8 The
high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and
the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they
shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.
28-11:4 I
drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they
that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid
meat unto them.
28-11:6 And
the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall
consume his branches, and devour them, because
of their own counsels.
28-12:1 Ephraim
feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east
wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with
the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
28-12:6 Therefore
turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
29-2:5 Like
the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains
shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble,
as a strong people set in battle array.
29-2:7 They
shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they
shall march every one on his ways, and they
shall not break their ranks:
29-2:32 And
it shall come to pass, that whosoever
shall call on the name of the LORD shall be
delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD
hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which
shall devour the palaces thereof:

shall devour the palaces thereof.

pant after the dust of the earth on the head of

in unto the same maid, to profane my
holy name:

if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and
leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit

31-1:11 In
the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in
the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners
entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.
31-1:12 But
thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy
brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have
rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither
shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
31-1:13 Thou
shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their
calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on
their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on
their substance in the day of their calamity;

saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge
the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
32-3:5 So
the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the
least of them.

Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east
side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow,
till he might see what would become of the city.

said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd,
for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in
a night, and perished in a night:

breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through
the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and
the LORD on the head of them.

is jealous, and the LORD revengeth;
the LORD revengeth, and is furious;
the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries,
and he reserveth wrath for his

35-1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold
evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore
lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his
nest on high, that he may be delivered from the
power of evil!
35-2:15 Woe
unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on
their nakedness!
35-2:16 Thou
art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be
uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and
shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.

mountains saw thee, and they
trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high.

LORD God is my strength, and he will
make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he
will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

the same day also will I punish all those that leap on
the threshold, which fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.

it shall come to pass at that time, that I
will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will
not do good, neither will he do evil.

the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou
not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had
indignation these threescore and ten years?

said he unto me, This is the curse
that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth
shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that
sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.

they shall be as mighty men, which

of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the
wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people
round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in
her own place, even in Jerusalem.

I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is
refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The
LORD is my God.

his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in
the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain
shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

it shall come to pass in that day, that a
great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every
one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand
shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

is there even among you that would
shut the doors for nought? neither do
ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you,
saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
