01-GENESIS
01-7:19 And
the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were
under the whole heaven, were covered.
01-14:18 And
Melchizedek king of
01-14:19 And
he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram
of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
01-14:20 And
blessed be the most high God, which hath
delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
01-14:22 And
Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the
most high God, the possessor of heaven and
earth,
01-29:7 And
he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is
it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep,
and go and feed them.
02-14:8 And
the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of
02-25:20 And
the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings
on high, covering the mercy seat with their
wings, and their faces shall look one
to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.
02-37:9 And
the cherubims spread out their wings
on high, and
covered with their wings over the mercy seat, with their faces one to
another; even to the mercy seatward
were the faces of the cherubims.
02-39:31 And
they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it
on high upon the mitre; as the LORD
commanded Moses.
03-21:10 And
he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing
oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not
uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;
03-26:22 I
will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and
destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.
03-26:30 And
I will destroy your high places, and cut down
your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my
soul shall abhor you.
04-11:31 And
there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let
them fall by the camp, as it were a
day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side,
round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
04-20:17 Let
us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields,
or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way,
we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy
borders.
04-20:19 And
the children of
04-21:22 Let
me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the
vineyards; we will not drink of the
waters of the well: but we will go
along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders.
04-21:28 For
there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of
04-22:41 And
it came to pass on the morrow, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into
the high places of Baal, that thence he might
see the utmost part of the people.
04-23:3 And
Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go:
peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will
tell thee. And he went to an high place.
04-24:16 He
hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw
the vision of the Almighty, falling into
a trance, but having his eyes open:
04-33:3 And
they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the
first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of
04-33:52 Then
ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy
all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down
all their high places:
04-35:25 And
the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of
blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither
he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.
04-35:28 Because
he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of
his possession.
05-2:27 Let
me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high
way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left.
05-3:5 All
these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a
great many.
05-12:2 Ye
shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall
possess served their gods, upon the high
mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
05-26:19 And
to make thee high above all nations which he
hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an
holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.
05-28:1 And
it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the
LORD thy God, to observe and to do
all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will
set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
05-28:43 The
stranger that is within thee shall
get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come
down very low.
05-28:52 And
he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high
and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land:
and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the
LORD thy God hath given thee.
05-32:8 When
the Most High divided to the nations their
inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the
people according to the number of the children of Israel.
05-32:13 He
made him ride on the high places of the earth,
that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out
of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
05-32:27 Were
it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should
behave themselves strangely, and lest
they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
05-33:29 Happy
art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the
LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the
sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and
thou shalt tread upon their high places.
06-20:6 And
he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for
judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall
the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the
city from whence he fled.
07-5:18 Zebulun
and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the
death in the high places of the field.
09-9:12 And
they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city;
for there is a sacrifice of the
people to day in the high place:
09-9:13 As
soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go
up to the high place to eat: for the people will
not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden.
Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.
09-9:14 And
they went up into the city: and when
they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go
up to the high place.
09-9:19 And
Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the
seer: go up before me unto the high place; for
ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell
thee all that is in thine heart.
09-9:25 And
when they were come down from the high place
into the city, Samuel communed with
Saul upon the top of the house.
09-10:5 After
that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when
thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets
coming down from the high place with a psaltery,
and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
09-10:13 And
when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high
place.
09-13:6 When
the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were
distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and
in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.
10-1:19 The
beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places:
how are the mighty fallen!
10-1:25 How
are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places.
10-22:3 The
God of my rock; in him will I trust: he
is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high
tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
10-22:14 The
LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High
uttered his voice.
10-22:34 He
maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and
setteth me upon my high places.
10-22:49 And
that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast
delivered me from the violent man.
10-23:1 Now
these be the last words of David.
David the son of Jesse said, and the man who
was raised up on high, the anointed of the God
of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
11-3:2 Only
the people sacrificed in high places, because
there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.
11-3:3 And
Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he
sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
11-3:4 And
the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand
burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
11-6:10 And
then he built chambers against all
the house, five cubits high: and they rested on
the house with timber of cedar.
11-6:23 And
within the oracle he made two cherubims of
olive tree, each ten cubits high.
11-7:15 For
he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high
apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.
11-7:35 And
in the top of the base was there a
round compass of half a cubit high: and on the
top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.
11-9:8 And
at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be
astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus
unto this land, and to this house?
11-11:7 Then
did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the
abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before
Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
11-12:31 And
he made an house of high places, and made
priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.
11-12:32 And
Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the
month, like unto the feast that is in
Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the
calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
11-13:2 And
he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar,
thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah
by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s
bones shall be burnt upon thee.
11-13:32 For
the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel,
and against all the houses of the high places
which are in the cities of Samaria,
shall surely come to pass.
11-13:33 After
this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the
lowest of the people priests of the high places:
whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high
places.
11-14:23 For
they also built them high places, and images,
and groves, on every high hill, and under every
green tree.
11-15:14 But
the high places were not removed: nevertheless
Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
11-21:9 And
she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
11-21:12 They
proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among
the people.
11-22:43 And
he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing
that which was right in the eyes of
the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not
taken away; for the people offered
and burnt incense yet in the high places.
12-12:3 But
the high places were not taken away: the people
still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high
places.
12-12:10 And
it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that
the king’s scribe and the high priest came up,
and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the
LORD.
12-14:4 Howbeit
the high places were not taken away: as yet the
people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high
places.
12-15:4 Save
that the high places were not removed: the people
sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high
places.
12-15:35 Howbeit
the high places were not removed: the people
sacrificed and burned incense still in the high
places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.
12-16:4 And
he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high
places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
12-17:9 And
the children of Israel did secretly those
things that were not right
against the LORD their God, and they built them high
places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
12-17:10 And
they set them up images and groves in every high
hill, and under every green tree:
12-17:11 And
there they burnt incense in all the high places,
as did the heathen whom the LORD
carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to
anger:
12-17:29 Howbeit
every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high
places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they
dwelt.
12-17:32 So
they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of
the high places, which sacrificed for them in
the houses of the high places.
12-18:4 He
removed the high places, and brake the images,
and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had
made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he
called it Nehushtan.
12-18:22 But
if ye say unto me, We trust in the LORD our God: is not that he, whose high places
and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and
Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
12-19:22 Whom
hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against
the Holy One of Israel.
12-21:3 For
he built up again the high places which Hezekiah
his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove,
as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served
them.
12-22:4 Go
up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum
the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of
the door have gathered of the people:
12-22:8 And
Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the
scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah
gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
12-23:4 And
the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and
the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth
out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for
the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem
in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.
12-23:5 And
he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to
burn incense in the high places in the cities of
Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense
unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host
of heaven.
12-23:8 And
he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from
Geba to Beersheba, and brake down the high
places of the gates that were in the
entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man’s left hand at the gate of
the city.
12-23:9 Nevertheless
the priests of the high places came not up to the
altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they did eat of the unleavened bread among
their brethren.
12-23:13 And
the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were
on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of
Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for
Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the
children of Ammon, did the king defile.
12-23:15 Moreover
the altar that was at Bethel, and the high
place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both
that altar and the high place he brake down, and
burned the high place, and stamped it small to
powder, and burned the grove.
12-23:19 And
all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the
kings of Israel had made to provoke the
LORD to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts
that he had done in Bethel.
12-23:20 And
he slew all the priests of the high places that were there upon the altars, and burned
men’s bones upon them, and returned to Jerusalem.
13-11:23 And
he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature,
five cubits high; and in the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he
went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s
hand, and slew him with his own spear.
13-14:2 And
David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his
kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his
people Israel.
13-16:39 And
Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the
LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,
13-17:17 And
yet this was a small thing in thine
eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken
of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me
according to the estate of a man of high degree,
O LORD God.
13-21:29 For
the tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar
of the burnt offering, were at that
season in the high place at Gibeon.
14-1:3 So
Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at
Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses
the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
14-1:13 Then
Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was
at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and
reigned over Israel.
14-3:15 Also
he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was
five cubits.
14-6:13 For
Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad,
and three cubits high, and had set it in the
midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees
before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward
heaven,
14-7:21 And
this house, which is high, shall be an
astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath
the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
14-11:15 And
he ordained him priests for the high places, and
for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
14-14:3 For
he took away the altars of the strange gods,
and the high places, and brake down the
images, and cut down the groves:
14-14:5 Also
he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high
places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
14-15:17 But
the high places were not taken away out of Israel:
nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
14-17:6 And
his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.
14-20:19 And
the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the
Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
14-20:33 Howbeit
the high places were not taken away: for as yet
the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.
14-21:11 Moreover
he made high places in the mountains of Judah,
and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled
Judah thereto.
14-23:20 And
he took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the
people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the
house of the LORD: and they came through the high
gate into the king’s house, and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom.
14-24:11 Now
it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office
by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king’s scribe and the high priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and
took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and
gathered money in abundance.
14-27:3 He
built the high gate of the house of the LORD,
and on the wall of Ophel he built much.
14-28:4 He
sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high
places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
14-28:25 And
in every several city of Judah he made high
places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger the LORD God of
his fathers.
14-31:1 Now
when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities
of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw
down the high places and the altars out of all
Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly
destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his
possession, into their own cities.
14-32:12 Hath
not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places
and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship
before one altar, and burn incense upon it?
14-33:3 For
he built again the high places which Hezekiah
his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made
groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
14-33:17 Nevertheless
the people did sacrifice still in the high
places, yet unto the LORD their God
only.
14-33:19 His
prayer also, and how God was
intreated of him, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places wherein he
built high places, and set up groves and graven
images, before he was humbled: behold, they are
written among the sayings of the seers.
14-34:3 For
in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after
the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah
and Jerusalem from the high places, and the
groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.
14-34:4 And
they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high
above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten
images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of
them, and strowed it upon the
graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.
14-34:9 And
when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they
delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites
that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of
all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to
Jerusalem.
16-3:1 Then
Eliashib the high priest rose up with his
brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and
set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto
the tower of Hananeel.
16-3:20 After
him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the
turning of the wall unto the door of
the house of Eliashib the high priest.
16-3:25 Palal
the son of Uzai, over against the turning of
the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that was
by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.
16-13:28 And
one of the sons of Joiada, the son of
Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him
from me.
17-5:14 Then
said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of
fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto
the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the
king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows
to be made.
17-7:9 And
Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the
gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made
for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman.
Then the king said, Hang him thereon.
18-5:11 To
set up on high those that be low; that those
which mourn may be exalted to safety.
18-11:8 It is as high
as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
18-16:19 Also
now, behold, my witness is in heaven,
and my record is on high.
18-21:22 Shall
any teach God knowledge? seeing he
judgeth those that are high.
18-22:12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and
behold the height of the stars, how high they
are!
18-25:2 Dominion
and fear are with him, he maketh
peace in his high places.
18-31:2 For
what portion of God is there from
above? and what inheritance of the
Almighty from on high?
18-38:15 And
from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high
arm shall be broken.
18-39:18 What
time she lifteth up herself on high, she
scorneth the horse and his rider.
18-39:27 Doth
the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
18-41:34 He
beholdeth all high things: he is a king over
all the children of pride.
19-7:7 So
shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes
therefore return thou on high.
19-7:17 I
will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the
name of the LORD most high.
19-9:2 I
will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
19-18:2 The
LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and
my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn
of my salvation, and my high tower.
19-18:27 For
thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
19-18:33 He
maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and
setteth me upon my high places.
19-21:7 For
the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
19-46:4 There is a river, the streams whereof
shall make glad the city of God, the holy place
of the tabernacles of the most High.
19-47:2 For
the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great
King over all the earth.
19-49:2 Both
low and high, rich and poor, together.
19-50:14 Offer
unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
19-56:2 Mine
enemies would daily swallow me up:
for they be many that fight against
me, O thou most High.
19-57:2 I
will cry unto God most high; unto God that
performeth all things for me.
19-62:9 Surely
men of low degree are vanity, and men of high
degree are a lie: to be laid in the
balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
19-68:15 The
hill of God is as the hill of Bashan;
an high hill as
the hill of Bashan.
19-68:16 Why
leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God
desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.
19-68:18 Thou
hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity
captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.
19-69:29 But
I am poor and sorrowful: let thy
salvation, O God, set me up on high.
19-71:19 Thy
righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!
19-73:11 And
they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
19-75:5 Lift
not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
19-77:10 And
I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the
right hand of the most High.
19-78:17 And
they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High
in the wilderness.
19-78:35 And
they remembered that God was their
rock, and the high God their redeemer.
19-78:56 Yet
they tempted and provoked the most high God, and
kept not his testimonies:
19-78:58 For
they provoked him to anger with their high
places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
19-78:69 And
he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath
established for ever.
19-82:6 I
have said, Ye are gods; and all of
you are children of the most High.
19-83:18 That
men may know that thou, whose name
alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high
over all the earth.
19-89:13 Thou
hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and
high is thy right hand.
19-91:1 He
that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
19-91:9 Because
thou hast made the LORD, which is my
refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
19-91:14 Because
he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
19-92:1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy
name, O most High:
19-92:8 But
thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
19-93:4 The
LORD on high is
mightier than the noise of many waters, yea,
than the mighty waves of the sea.
19-97:9 For
thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above
all gods.
19-99:2 The
LORD is great in Zion; and he is high
above all the people.
19-101:5 Whoso
privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
19-103:11 For
as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that
fear him.
19-104:18 The
high hills are
a refuge for the wild goats; and the
rocks for the conies.
19-107:11 Because
they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
19-107:41 Yet
setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and
maketh him families like a flock.
19-113:4 The
LORD is high
above all nations, and his glory
above the heavens.
19-113:5 Who
is like unto the LORD our God, who
dwelleth on high,
19-131:1 LORD,
my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in
great matters, or in things too high for me.
19-138:6 Though
the LORD be high,
yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
19-139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high,
I cannot attain unto it.
19-144:2 My
goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my
deliverer; my shield, and he in whom
I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
19-149:6 Let the high
praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
19-150:5 Praise
him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high
sounding cymbals.
20-8:2 She
standeth in the top of high places, by the way
in the places of the paths.
20-9:14 For
she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high
places of the city,
20-18:11 The
rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
and as an high wall in his own conceit.
20-21:4 An
high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
20-24:7 Wisdom
is too high
for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
21-12:5 Also
when they shall be afraid of that which is high,
and fears shall be in the way, and
the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and
desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go
about the streets:
23-2:13 And
upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
23-2:14 And
upon all the high mountains, and upon all the
hills that are lifted up,
23-2:15 And
upon every high tower, and upon every fenced
wall,
23-6:1 In
the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
23-10:12 Wherefore
it shall come to pass, that when the
Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will
punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of
his high looks.
23-10:33 Behold,
the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.
23-13:2 Lift
ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the
voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
23-14:14 I
will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
23-15:2 He
is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high
places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads
shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.
23-16:12 And
it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray;
but he shall not prevail.
23-22:16 What
hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a
sepulchre here, as he that heweth him
out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?
23-24:18 And
it shall come to pass, that he who
fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh
up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows
from on high are open, and the foundations of
the earth do shake.
23-24:21 And
it shall come to pass in that day, that the
LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high,
and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
23-25:12 And
the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall
he bring down, lay low, and bring to
the ground, even to the dust.
23-26:5 For
he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the
lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
23-30:13 Therefore
this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an
instant.
23-30:25 And
there shall be upon every high mountain, and
upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the
great slaughter, when the towers fall.
23-32:15 Until
the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and
the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a
forest.
23-33:5 The
LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he
hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
23-33:16 He
shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread
shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
23-36:7 But
if thou say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is it not he, whose high places and
whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye
shall worship before this altar?
23-37:23 Whom
hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against
the Holy One of Israel.
23-40:9 O
Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high
mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with
strength; lift it up, be not afraid;
say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
23-40:26 Lift
up your eyes on high, and behold who hath
created these things, that bringeth
out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his
might, for that he is strong in
power; not one faileth.
23-41:18 I
will open rivers in high places, and fountains
in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and
the dry land springs of water.
23-49:9 That
thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and
their pastures shall be in all high places.
23-52:13 Behold,
my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
23-57:7 Upon
a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed:
even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.
23-57:15 For
thus saith the high and lofty One that
inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite
ones.
23-58:4 Behold,
ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye
shall not fast as ye do this day, to
make your voice to be heard on high.
23-58:14 Then
shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the
heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
24-2:20 For
of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst
thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest,
playing the harlot.
24-3:2 Lift
up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where
thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the
Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms
and with thy wickedness.
24-3:6 The
LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done?
she is gone up upon every high mountain and
under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
24-3:21 A
voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of
Israel: for they have perverted their way, and
they have forgotten the LORD their God.
24-4:11 At
that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of
my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,
24-7:29 Cut
off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast
it away, and take up a lamentation on
high places; for the LORD hath rejected and
forsaken the generation of his wrath.
24-7:31 And
they have built the high places of Tophet, which
is in the valley of the son of
Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
24-12:12 The
spoilers are come upon all high places through
the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall
have peace.
24-14:6 And
the wild asses did stand in the high places,
they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
24-17:2 Whilst
their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon
the high hills.
24-17:3 O
my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin,
throughout all thy borders.
24-17:12 A
glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
24-19:5 They
have built also the high places of Baal, to burn
their sons with fire for burnt
offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into
my mind:
24-20:2 Then
Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high
gate of Benjamin, which was by the
house of the LORD.
24-25:30 Therefore
prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall
roar from on high, and utter his voice from his
holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a
shout, as they that tread the grapes, against
all the inhabitants of the earth.
24-26:18 Micah
the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to
all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be
plowed like a field, and Jerusalem
shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
24-31:21 Set
thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set
thine heart toward the highway, even the
way which thou wentest: turn again, O
virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
24-32:35 And
they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom,
to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it
into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
24-48:35 Moreover
I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
24-49:16 Thy
terribleness hath deceived thee, and the
pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that
holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence,
saith the LORD.
24-51:58 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken,
and her high gates shall be burned with fire;
and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall
be weary.
25-3:35 To
turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
25-3:38 Out
of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not
evil and good?
26-1:18 As
for their rings, they were so high that they
were dreadful; and their rings were full
of eyes round about them four.
26-6:3 And
say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord
GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys;
Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword
upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
26-6:6 In
all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be
laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your
images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
26-6:13 Then
shall ye know that I am the LORD,
when their slain men shall be among
their idols round about their altars, upon every high
hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under
every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their
idols.
26-16:16 And
of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high
places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither
shall it be so.
26-16:24 That thou hast also built unto thee an
eminent place, and hast made thee an high place
in every street.
26-16:25 Thou
hast built thy high place at every head of the
way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every
one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
26-16:31 In
that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest
thine high place in every street; and hast not
been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
26-16:39 And
I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent
place, and shall break down thy high places:
they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and
leave thee naked and bare.
26-17:22 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one,
and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:
26-17:24 And
all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the
green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and
have done it.
26-20:28 For when I had brought them into the
land, for the which I lifted up mine
hand to give it to them, then they saw every high
hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and
there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made
their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings.
26-20:29 Then
I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is
called Bamah unto this day.
26-21:26 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that
is low, and abase him that is high.
26-31:3 Behold,
the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon
with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.
26-31:4 The
waters made him great, the deep set him up on high
with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers
unto all the trees of the field.
26-34:6 My
sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the
face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.
26-34:14 I
will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high
mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold,
and in a fat pasture shall they feed
upon the mountains of Israel.
26-36:2 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the
ancient high places are ours in possession:
26-40:2 In
the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a
very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.
26-40:42 And
the four tables were of hewn stone
for the burnt offering, of a cubit and an half long, and a cubit and an half
broad, and one cubit high: whereupon also they
laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice.
26-41:22 The
altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the
corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the LORD.
26-43:7 And
he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles
of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever,
and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their
whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high
places.
27-3:26 Then
Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God,
come forth, and come hither. Then
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
27-4:2 I
thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high
God hath wrought toward me.
27-4:17 This
matter is by the decree of the
watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the
living may know that the most High ruleth in the
kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the
basest of men.
27-4:24 This
is the interpretation, O king, and
this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
27-4:25 That
they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of
the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet
thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou
know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of
men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
27-4:32 And
they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat
grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the
most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and
giveth it to whomsoever he will.
27-4:34 And
at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and
mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for
ever, whose dominion is an
everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from
generation to generation:
27-5:18 O
thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar
thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
27-5:21 And
he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and
his dwelling was with the wild asses:
they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven;
till he knew that the most high God ruled in the
kingdom of men, and that he
appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
27-7:18 But
the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom,
and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
27-7:22 Until
the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the
kingdom.
27-7:25 And
he shall speak great words against
the most High, and shall wear out the saints of
the most High, and think to change times and
laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the
dividing of time.
27-7:27 And
the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole
heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey
him.
27-8:3 Then
I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram
which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the
higher came up last.
28-7:16 They
return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall
fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
28-10:8 The
high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel,
shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars;
and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.
28-11:7 And
my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
30-4:13 For,
lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto
man what is his thought, that maketh
the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high
places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
30-7:9 And
the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and
the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the
house of Jeroboam with the sword.
31-1:3 The
pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of
the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down
to the ground?
33-1:3 For,
behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread
upon the high places of the earth.
33-1:5 For
the transgression of Jacob is all
this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is
it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
33-3:12 Therefore
shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a
field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
33-6:6 Wherewith
shall I come before the LORD, and bow
myself before the high God? shall I come before
him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
35-2:9 Woe
to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his
nest on high, that he may be delivered from the
power of evil!
35-3:10 The
mountains saw thee, and they
trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high.
35-3:19 The
LORD God is my strength, and he will
make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he
will make me to walk upon mine high places. To
the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
36-1:16 A
day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
37-1:1 In
the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the
month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son
of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
37-1:12 Then
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people,
obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as
the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
37-1:14 And
the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of
Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the
people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their
God,
37-2:2 Speak
now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the
son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the
residue of the people, saying,
37-2:4 Yet
now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of
Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye
people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
38-3:1 And
he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing
before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist
him.
38-3:8 Hear
now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy
fellows that sit before thee: for they are
men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
38-6:11 Then
take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
40-4:8 Again,
the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high
mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
40-17:1 And
after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth
them up into an high mountain apart,
40-26:3 Then
assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the
people, unto the palace of the high priest, who
was called Caiaphas,
40-26:51 And,
behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.
40-26:57 And
they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away
to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes
and the elders were assembled.
40-26:58 But
Peter followed him afar off unto the high
priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
40-26:62 And
the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest
thou nothing? what is it which these
witness against thee?
40-26:63 But
Jesus held his peace. And the high priest
answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us
whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
40-26:65 Then
the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He
hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye
have heard his blasphemy.
41-2:26 How
he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not
lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
41-5:7 And
cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me
not.
41-6:21 And
when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his
lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
41-9:2 And
after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter,
and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high
mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
41-14:47 And
one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
41-14:53 And
they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with
him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
41-14:54 And
Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed
himself at the fire.
41-14:60 And
the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked
Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is
it which these witness against thee?
41-14:61 But
he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high
priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the
Blessed?
41-14:63 Then
the high priest rent his clothes, and saith,
What need we any further witnesses?
41-14:66 And
as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:
42-1:78 Through
the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
42-3:2 Annas
and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of
God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
42-4:5 And
the devil, taking him up into an high mountain,
shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
42-8:28 When
he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice
said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou
Son of God most high? I beseech thee,
torment me not.
42-22:50 And
one of them smote the servant of the high
priest, and cut off his right ear.
42-22:54 Then
took they him, and led him, and
brought him into the high priest’s house. And
Peter followed afar off.
42-24:49 And,
behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of
Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
43-11:49 And
one of them, named Caiaphas, being
the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye
know nothing at all,
43-11:51 And
this spake he not of himself: but being high
priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
43-18:10 Then
Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high
priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
43-18:13 And
led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was
the high priest that same year.
43-18:15 And
Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another
disciple: that disciple was known unto the high
priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high
priest.
43-18:16 But
Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was
known unto the high priest, and spake unto her
that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
43-18:19 The
high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples,
and of his doctrine.
43-18:22 And
when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with
the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high
priest so?
43-18:24 Now
Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high
priest.
43-18:26 One
of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off,
saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
43-19:31 The
Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not
remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be
broken, and that they might be taken
away.
44-4:6 And
Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John,
and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
44-5:17 Then
the high priest rose up, and all they that were
with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with
indignation,
44-5:21 And
when they heard that, they entered
into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and
called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and
sent to the prison to have them brought.
44-5:24 Now
when the high priest and the captain of the
temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto
this would grow.
44-5:27 And
when they had brought them, they set them
before the council: and the high priest
asked them,
44-7:1 Then
said the high priest, Are these things so?
44-7:48 Howbeit
the most High dwelleth not in temples made with
hands; as saith the prophet,
44-9:1 And
Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the
Lord, went unto the high priest,
44-13:17 The
God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when
they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
44-16:17 The
same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the
most high God, which shew unto us the way of
salvation.
44-22:5 As
also the high priest doth bear me witness, and
all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the
brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto
Jerusalem, for to be punished.
44-23:2 And
the high priest Ananias commanded them that
stood by him to smite him on the mouth.
44-23:4 And
they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high
priest?
44-23:5 Then
said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high
priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy
people.
44-24:1 And
after five days Ananias the high priest
descended with the elders, and with a
certain orator named Tertullus, who
informed the governor against Paul.
44-25:2 Then
the high priest and the chief of the Jews
informed him against Paul, and besought him,
45-12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another.
Mind not high things, but condescend to men of
low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
45-13:11 And
that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we
believed.
47-10:5 Casting
down imaginations, and every high thing that
exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every
thought to the obedience of Christ;
49-4:8 Wherefore
he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led
captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
49-6:12 For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places.
50-3:14 I
press toward the mark for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus.
58-1:3 Who
being the brightness of his glory,
and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of
his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand
of the Majesty on high;
58-2:17 Wherefore
in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the
people.
58-3:1 Wherefore,
holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
58-4:14 Seeing
then that we have a great high priest, that is
passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
58-4:15 For
we have not an high priest which cannot be
touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like
as we are, yet without sin.
58-5:1 For
every high priest taken from among men is
ordained for men in things pertaining to
God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
58-5:5 So
also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high
priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten
thee.
58-5:10 Called
of God an high priest after the order of
Melchisedec.
58-6:20 Whither
the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus,
made an high priest for ever after the order of
Melchisedec.
58-7:1 For
this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high
God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed
him;
58-7:26 For
such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled,
separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
58-7:27 Who
needeth not daily, as those high priests, to
offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this
he did once, when he offered up himself.
58-7:28 For
the law maketh men high priests which have
infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for
evermore.
58-8:1 Now
of the things which we have spoken this
is the sum: We have such an high priest, who
is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
58-8:3 For
every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and
sacrifices: wherefore it is of
necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
58-9:7 But
into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood,
which he offered for himself, and for the
errors of the people:
58-9:11 But
Christ being come an high priest of good things
to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is
to say, not of this building;
58-9:25 Nor
yet that he should offer himself often, as the high
priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
58-10:21 And
having an high
priest over the house of God;
58-13:11 For
the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
66-21:10 And
he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high
mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy
66-21:12 And
had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names
written thereon, which are the names of
the twelve tribes of the children of
