01-39:9†††† There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
01-39:14††† That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:

02-13:9†††† And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the Lordís law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

02-16:9†††† And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.
02-16:15††† And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
02-16:16††† This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.
02-16:23††† And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
02-16:29††† See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.

02-21:29††† But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
02-21:36††† Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.

02-35:30††† And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;
02-35:31††† And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;
02-35:34††† And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.
02-35:35††† Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

03-4:28†††† Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.
03-4:35†††† And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
03-5:1††††† And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
03-5:5††††† And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:
03-5:6††††† And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.
03-5:7††††† And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the LORD; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.

03-5:16†††† And he shall make amends for the harm that he hath done in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and it shall be forgiven him.
03-5:19†††† It is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against the LORD.
03-6:2††††† If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
03-6:4††††† Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
03-6:5††††† Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.

03-10:17††† Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?
03-11:9†††† These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
03-11:12††† Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
03-11:42††† Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

03-13:4†††† If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:
03-13:7†††† But if the scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again:
03-13:12††† And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looketh;
03-13:13††† Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.
03-13:17††† And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be turned into white; then the priest shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: he is clean.
03-13:31††† And if the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, it be not in sight deeper than the skin, and that there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague of the scall seven days:
03-13:33††† He shall be shaven, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up him that hath the scall seven days more:
03-13:41††† And he that hath his hair fallen off from the part of his head toward his face, he is forehead bald: yet is he clean.

03-15:4†††† Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean.
03-15:6†††† And he that sitteth on any thing whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
03-15:7†††† And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
03-15:8†††† And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
03-15:9†††† And what saddle soever he rideth upon that hath the issue shall be unclean.
03-15:11††† And whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
03-15:12††† And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.
03-15:13††† And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.
03-15:32††† This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed goeth from him, and is defiled therewith;
03-15:33††† And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.
03-16:20††† And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:
03-17:2†††† Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,
03-17:4†††† And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
03-19:8†††† Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
03-19:22††† And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
03-20:3†††† And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
03-20:9†††† For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
03-20:11††† And the man that lieth with his fatherís wife hath uncovered his fatherís nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
03-20:17††† And if a man shall take his sister, his fatherís daughter, or his motherís daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sisterís nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
03-20:18††† And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
03-20:20††† And if a man shall lie with his uncleís wife, he hath uncovered his uncleís nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.
03-20:21††† And if a man shall take his brotherís wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brotherís nakedness; they shall be childless.
03-20:27††† A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.
03-21:3†††† And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.
03-21:17††† Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
03-21:18††† For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,
03-21:20††† Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;
03-21:21††† No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.
03-21:23††† Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.
03-22:4†††† What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;
03-22:5†††† Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;
03-22:6†††† The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.
03-22:20††† But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.
03-22:23††† Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.
03-24:14††† Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
03-24:19††† And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;
03-24:20††† Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.
03-25:25††† If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.
03-25:28††† But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
03-27:22††† And if a man sanctify unto the LORD a field which he hath bought, which is not of the fields of his possession;
03-27:28††† Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.
04-5:2††††† Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:
04-5:7††††† Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
04-5:27†††† And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
04-6:9††††† And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it.
04-6:21†††† This is the law of the Nazarite who hath vowed, and of his offering unto the LORD for his separation, beside that that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.
04-10:29††† And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Mosesí father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.
04-12:2†††† And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
04-14:3†††† And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
04-14:16††† Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
04-14:24††† But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
04-14:40††† And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.
04-15:22††† And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the LORD hath spoken unto Moses,
04-15:23††† Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations;
04-15:31††† Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
04-16:5†††† And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
04-16:9†††† Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
04-16:10††† And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
04-16:28††† And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
04-16:29††† If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
04-19:2†††† This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
04-19:15††† And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.
04-19:20††† But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
04-20:14††† And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:
04-20:16††† And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:
04-21:28††† For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of Arnon.
04-21:29††† Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of Chemosh: he hath given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.
04-22:10††† And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying,
04-23:7†††† And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
04-23:8†††† How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?
04-23:12††† And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?
04-23:17††† And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?
04-23:19††† God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
04-23:20††† Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
04-23:21††† He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
04-23:22††† God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.
04-23:23††† Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
04-24:3†††† And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
04-24:4†††† He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
04-24:6†††† As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the riverís side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.
04-24:8†††† God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
04-24:11††† Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour.
04-24:15††† And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
04-24:16††† He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
04-25:11††† Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
04-27:4†††† Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
04-30:1†††† And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded.
04-30:4†††† And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
04-30:5†††† But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
04-30:12††† But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.
04-30:15††† But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.
04-31:17††† Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
04-31:19††† And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.
04-31:50††† We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.
04-32:7†††† And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?
04-32:21††† And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,
04-32:24††† Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.
04-32:31††† And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.
04-36:5†††† And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
05-1:10†††† The LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.
05-1:11†††† (The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)
05-1:21†††† Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.
05-1:27†††† And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
05-1:36†††† Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.
05-2:7††††† For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
05-3:18†††† And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
05-3:20†††† Until the LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
05-3:21†††† And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.
05-4:3††††† Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
05-4:7††††† For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
05-4:8††††† And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
05-4:19†††† And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
05-4:20†††† But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
05-4:23†††† Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
05-4:32†††† For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
05-4:34†††† Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
05-5:12†††† Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
05-5:16†††† Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
05-5:24†††† And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
05-5:26†††† For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
05-5:32†††† Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
05-5:33†††† Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
05-6:3††††† Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
05-6:17†††† Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
05-6:19†††† To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.
05-6:20†††† And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?
05-6:25†††† And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
05-7:1††††† When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
05-7:6††††† For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
05-7:8††††† But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
05-8:10†††† When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
05-8:17†††† And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.
05-9:3††††† Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
05-9:4††††† Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.
05-9:28†††† Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.
05-10:9†††† Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.
05-10:21††† He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
05-10:22††† Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
05-11:4†††† And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
05-11:25††† There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
05-11:29††† And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
05-12:7†††† And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.
05-12:12††† And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.
05-12:15††† Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
05-12:20††† When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
05-12:21††† If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
05-13:5†††† And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
05-13:10††† And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
05-13:12††† If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
05-13:17††† And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
05-14:2†††† For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
05-14:10††† And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
05-14:24††† And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
05-14:27††† And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
05-14:29††† And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
05-15:14††† Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.
05-15:18††† It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.
05-16:10††† And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
05-16:11††† And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
05-16:17††† Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee.
05-17:2†††† If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
05-17:3†††† And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
05-17:16††† But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
05-18:2†††† Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.
05-18:5†††† For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.
05-18:14††† For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
05-18:21††† And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
05-18:22††† When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
05-19:1†††† When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;
05-19:8†††† And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;
05-19:18††† And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;
05-20:5†††† And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
05-20:6†††† And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it.
05-20:7†††† And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.
05-20:13††† And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:
05-20:14††† But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
05-20:17††† But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:
05-21:1†††† If one be found slain in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath slain him:
05-21:3†††† And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;
05-21:5†††† And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:
05-21:10††† When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive,
05-21:16††† Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:
05-21:17††† But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.
05-22:3†††† In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brotherís, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.
05-22:17††† And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughterís virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
05-22:19††† And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
05-22:21††† Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her fatherís house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her fatherís house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.
05-22:24††† Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbourís wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.
05-22:29††† Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damselís father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
05-23:1†††† He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
05-24:1†††† When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
05-24:5†††† When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
05-25:10††† And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
05-25:19††† Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
05-26:9†††† And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.
05-26:11††† And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.
05-26:16††† This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
05-26:18††† And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;
05-26:19††† And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.
05-27:3†††† And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.
05-28:9†††† The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
05-28:52††† And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
05-28:53††† And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
05-28:55††† So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
05-29:4†††† Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
05-29:13††† That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
05-29:22††† So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;
05-29:24††† Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
05-30:1†††† And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,
05-30:3†††† That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.
05-31:2†††† And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the LORD hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
05-31:3†††† The LORD thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the LORD hath said.
05-31:7†††† And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.
05-32:6†††† Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?
05-32:27††† Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
06-1:13†††† Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
06-1:15†††† Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORDíS servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
06-2:9††††† And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
06-2:14†††† And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
06-2:24†††† And they said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.
06-6:16†††† And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
06-6:22†††† But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlotís house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
06-7:11†††† Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
06-7:15†††† And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
06-8:31†††† As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings.
06-10:4†††† Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
06-10:19††† And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.
06-14:10††† And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
06-17:14††† And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?
06-18:3†††† And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?
06-22:4†††† And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
06-22:25††† For the LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
06-23:3†††† And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God is he that hath fought for you.
06-23:5†††† And the LORD your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your God hath promised unto you.
06-23:9†††† For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
06-23:10††† One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
06-23:13††† Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
06-23:14††† And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
06-23:15††† Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
06-23:16††† When ye have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
06-24:20††† If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

07-1:7††††† And Adonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

07-6:13†††† And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
07-6:25†††† And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy fatherís young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:
07-6:29†††† And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.
07-6:30†††† Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.
07-6:31†††† And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar.
07-6:32†††† Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.

07-16:17††† That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my motherís womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
07-16:18††† And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.

09-3:17†††† And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.
09-4:3††††† And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.
09-4:7††††† And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.
09-4:17†††† And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.

09-12:22††† For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great nameís sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.
09-12:24††† Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things he hath done for you.
09-13:14††† But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.
09-14:10††† But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be a sign unto us.
09-14:12††† And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will shew you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.
09-14:29††† Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.
09-14:38††† And Saul said, Draw ye near hither, all the chief of the people: and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day.
09-14:45††† And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.
09-15:11††† It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
09-15:16††† Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
09-15:22††† And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
09-15:23††† For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
09-15:26††† And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
09-15:28††† And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
09-15:33††† And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
09-16:8†††† Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
09-16:9†††† Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
09-16:10††† Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
09-16:22††† And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.
09-17:36††† Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
09-18:7†††† And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
09-18:22††† And Saul commanded his servants, saying, Commune with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the kingís son in law.
09-19:4†††† And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
09-20:13††† The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
09-20:15††† But also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.
09-20:22††† But if I say thus unto the young man, Behold, the arrows are beyond thee; go thy way: for the LORD hath sent thee away.
09-20:26††† Nevertheless Saul spake not any thing that day: for he thought, Something hath befallen him, he is not clean; surely he is not clean.
09-20:29††† And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the kingís table.
09-20:32††† And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done?
09-21:2†††† And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place.
09-21:11††† And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
09-22:8†††† That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
09-23:7†††† And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.
09-23:10††† Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
09-23:11††† Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
09-23:22††† Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtilly.
09-25:21††† Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good.
09-25:26††† Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing the LORD hath withholden thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.
09-25:27††† And now this blessing which thine handmaid hath brought unto my lord, let it even be given unto the young men that follow my lord.
09-25:28††† I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the LORD, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days.
09-25:30††† And it shall come to pass, when the LORD shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel;
09-25:31††† That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid.
09-25:34††† For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall.
09-25:39††† And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife.
09-26:8†††† Then said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time.
09-27:12††† And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
09-28:7†††† Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
09-28:9†††† And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
09-28:17††† And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:
09-28:18††† Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.
09-28:21††† And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.
09-29:3†††† Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day?
09-30:23††† Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.
10-1:16†††† And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORDíS anointed.
10-3:9††††† So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;
10-3:18†††† Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.
10-3:23†††† When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.
10-3:29†††† Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his fatherís house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.
10-4:8††††† And they brought the head of Ishbosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
10-4:9††††† And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
10-5:20†††† And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.
10-6:12†††† And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
10-7:27†††† For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
10-9:3††††† And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
10-9:11†††† Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the kingís sons.
10-10:3†††† And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?
10-12:5†††† And Davidís anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:
10-12:13††† And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
10-13:20††† And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath Amnon thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalomís house.
10-13:24††† And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.
10-13:30††† And it came to pass, while they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom hath slain all the kingís sons, and there is not one of them left.
10-13:32††† And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah Davidís brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the kingís sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.
10-14:19††† And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:
10-14:20††† To fetch about this form of speech hath thy servant Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.
10-14:22††† And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.
10-14:30††† Therefore he said unto his servants, See, Joabís field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalomís servants set the field on fire.
10-15:4†††† Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!
10-16:8†††† The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.
10-16:10††† And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
10-16:11††† And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.
10-16:21††† And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy fatherís concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.
10-17:6†††† And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak thou.
10-17:7†††† And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.
10-17:21††† And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath Ahithophel counselled against you.
10-18:19††† Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the LORD hath avenged him of his enemies.
10-18:28††† And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
10-18:31††† And, behold, Cushi came; and Cushi said, Tidings, my lord the king: for the LORD hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.
10-19:27††† And he hath slandered thy servant unto my lord the king; but my lord the king is as an angel of God: do therefore what is good in thine eyes.
10-19:42††† And all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king is near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the kingís cost? or hath he given us any gift?
10-20:21††† The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
10-22:21††† The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
10-22:25††† Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
10-22:36††† Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
10-23:5†††† Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
11-1:19†††† And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.
11-1:25†††† For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the kingís sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.
11-1:26†††† But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called.
11-1:29†††† And the king sware, and said, As the LORD liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,

11-1:43†††† And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king.
11-1:44†††† And the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the kingís mule:
11-1:48†††† And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
11-1:51†††† And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
11-2:24†††† Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.

11-8:15†††† And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
11-8:20†††† And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
11-8:56†††† Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
11-9:8††††† And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?
11-9:9††††† And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.
11-12:11††† And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

11-13:26††† And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him.

11-19:18††† Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
11-22:23††† Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

12-4:27†††† And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.
12-5:20†††† But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.
12-5:22†††† And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.

12-6:32†††† But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his masterís feet behind him?
12-7:6††††† For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
12-8:1††††† Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
12-8:4††††† And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.
12-8:9††††† So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camelsí burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
12-8:10†††† And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the LORD hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
12-8:13†††† And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.
12-10:10††† Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.
12-14:10††† Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
12-17:26††† Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
12-18:22††† But if ye say unto me, We trust in the LORD our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
12-18:27††† But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?
12-18:33††† Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
12-19:4†††† It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
12-19:16††† LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
12-19:21††† This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
12-20:9†††† And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?
12-21:11††† Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
12-22:10††† And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
12-22:16††† Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:
13-14:11††† So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
13-15:2†††† Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
13-16:12††† Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
13-16:17††† And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
13-17:25††† For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
13-19:3†††† But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?
13-22:11††† Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.
13-22:18††† Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
13-23:25††† For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:
13-28:4†††† Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:
13-28:5†††† And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
13-28:10††† Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
13-29:1†††† Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
14-2:11†††† Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD hath loved his people, he hath made thee king over them.
14-2:12†††† Huram said moreover, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.
14-2:15†††† Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:
14-6:1††††† Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
14-6:4††††† And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,
14-6:10†††† The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
14-7:21†††† And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
14-7:22†††† And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
14-8:11†††† And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD hath come.
14-13:6†††† Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
14-14:7†††† Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
14-15:3†††† Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
14-18:22††† Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.
14-18:27††† And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
14-20:37††† Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
14-23:3†††† And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the kingís son shall reign, as the LORD hath said of the sons of David.
14-24:20††† And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.
14-25:8†††† But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.
14-25:16††† And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the kingís counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.
14-28:9†††† But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the LORD God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage that reacheth up unto heaven.
14-29:8†††† Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.
14-29:11††† My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.
14-30:8†††† Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
14-31:10††† And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.
14-32:12††† Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and burn incense upon it?
14-34:18††† Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
14-36:23††† Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
15-1:2††††† Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
15-4:3††††† But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.
15-4:18†††† The letter which ye sent unto us hath been plainly read before me.
15-4:19†††† And I commanded, and search hath been made, and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings, and that rebellion and sedition have been made therein.
15-5:3††††† At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?
15-5:16†††† Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundation of the house of God which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and yet it is not finished.
15-6:12†††† And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.
15-7:27†††† Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the kingís heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:
15-7:28†††† And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the kingís mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
15-9:2††††† For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.
15-9:8††††† And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
15-9:9††††† For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
16-9:32†††† Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
17-1:15†††† What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law, because she hath not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the chamberlains?

17-5:5††††† Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
17-5:8††††† If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.
17-6:3††††† And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the kingís servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
18-1:10†††† Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
18-1:11†††† But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
18-1:12†††† And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

18-7:8††††† The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: thine eyes are upon me, and I am not.
18-9:4††††† He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
18-10:12††† Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.
18-12:9†††† Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
18-12:13††† With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
18-13:1†††† Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.
18-16:7†††† But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
18-16:11††† God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
18-16:12††† I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
18-17:6†††† He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.
18-17:9†††† The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
18-19:6†††† Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
18-19:8†††† He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
18-19:9†††† He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
18-19:10††† He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
18-19:11††† He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
18-19:13††† He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
18-19:21††† Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
18-20:15††† He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
18-20:19††† Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
18-21:21††† For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
18-21:31††† Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
18-23:10††† But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
18-23:11††† My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
18-23:17††† Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
18-26:2†††† How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
18-26:3†††† How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

18-27:8†††† For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
18-28:6†††† The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.
18-28:7†††† There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vultureís eye hath not seen:
18-30:11††† Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.
18-30:19††† He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.
18-31:5†††† If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;
18-31:7†††† If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;
18-31:17††† Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;
18-31:27††† And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:
18-32:14††† Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
18-32:19††† Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.
18-33:2†††† Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
18-33:4†††† The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
18-34:5†††† For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
18-34:9†††† For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
18-34:13††† Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
18-34:35††† Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
18-35:15††† But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
18-36:23††† Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
18-38:5†††† Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
18-38:25††† Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
18-38:28††† Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
18-38:29††† Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
18-38:36††† Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

19-2:7††††† I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
19-4:3††††† But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
19-5:4††††† For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
19-6:8††††† Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.
19-6:9††††† The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.
19-7:12†††† If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
19-7:13†††† He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
19-7:14†††† Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

19-18:20††† The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
19-18:24††† Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

19-35:8†††† Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
19-35:21††† Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.
19-35:27††† Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
19-36:3†††† The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
19-37:16††† A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
19-40:3†††† And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
19-41:9†††† Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
19-44:15††† My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
19-45:2†††† Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
19-45:7†††† Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
19-46:8†††† Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
19-50:1†††† The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
19-50:2†††† Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
19-53:1†††† The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
19-53:5†††† There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.
19-54:7†††† For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
19-55:5†††† Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.
19-55:18††† He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
19-55:20††† He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
19-60:6†††† God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
19-62:11††† God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
19-66:14††† Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
19-66:16††† Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
19-66:19††† But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
19-66:20††† Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
19-68:10††† Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.
19-68:28††† Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.
19-69:7†††† Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
19-69:9†††† For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
19-69:20††† Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
19-69:31††† This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
19-71:11††† Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
19-72:12††† For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
19-74:3†††† Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
19-74:18††† Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.
19-77:9†††† Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
19-78:4†††† We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
19-78:69††† And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.
19-80:15††† And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
19-84:3†††† Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
19-88:4†††† I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:
19-91:14††† Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
19-93:1†††† The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
19-98:1†††† O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
19-98:2†††† The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
19-98:3†††† He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
19-100:3††† Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
19-101:5††† Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
19-102:19†† For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
19-103:10†† He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
19-103:12†† As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
19-103:19†† The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
19-104:16†† The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
19-105:5††† Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
19-105:8††† He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
19-107:2††† Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
19-107:16†† For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
19-108:7††† God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
19-109:11†† Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
19-110:4††† The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
19-111:4††† He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
19-111:5††† He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
19-111:6††† He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
19-111:9††† He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
19-112:9††† He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
19-115:3††† But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
19-115:12†† The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
19-115:16†† The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lordís: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
19-116:1††† I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
19-116:2††† Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
19-116:7††† Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
19-118:18†† The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
19-118:24†† This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
19-118:27†† God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
19-119:20†† My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
19-119:50†† This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.
19-119:53†† Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
19-119:139† My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.
19-119:167† My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.
19-120:6††† My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
19-124:6††† Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
19-126:2††† Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
19-126:3††† The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
19-127:5††† Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
19-129:4††† The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
19-132:11†† The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
19-132:13†† For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.
19-135:4††† For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
19-136:24†† And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.
19-138:6††† Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
19-143:3††† For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
19-146:5††† Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
19-147:13†† For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
19-147:20†† He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
19-148:6††† He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
19-150:6††† Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
20-3:19†††† The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20-7:20†††† He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
20-7:26†††† For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
20-9:1††††† Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
20-9:2††††† She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
20-9:3††††† She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
20-10:13††† In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
20-10:23††† It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
20-12:9†††† He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
20-13:4†††† The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
20-13:7†††† There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
20-14:20††† The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
20-14:21††† He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
20-14:31††† He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
20-14:32††† The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
20-14:33††† Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
20-15:14††† The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
20-15:15††† All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
20-15:23††† A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
20-16:4†††† The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
20-16:22††† Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
20-17:8†††† A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
20-17:16††† Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?
20-17:20††† He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.
20-17:21††† He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.
20-17:24††† Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
20-17:27††† He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
20-18:2†††† A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
20-18:24††† A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
20-19:17††† He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
20-19:23††† The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
20-19:25††† Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
20-20:12††† The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
20-22:9†††† He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
20-23:6†††† Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
20-23:29††† Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
20-24:29††† Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
20-25:8†††† Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.
20-25:28††† He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
20-28:11††† The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
20-28:22††† He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
20-30:4†††† Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his sonís name, if thou canst tell?
20-30:15††† The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:
21-1:3††††† What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?
21-1:9††††† The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
21-1:10†††† Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
21-1:13†††† And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.
21-2:12†††† And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.
21-2:21†††† For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.
21-2:22†††† For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?
21-3:9††††† What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
21-3:10†††† I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
21-3:11†††† He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
21-3:15†††† That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
21-3:19†††† For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
21-4:3††††† Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
21-4:8††††† There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.
21-4:10†††† For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
21-5:4††††† When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
21-5:16†††† And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?
21-5:17†††† All his days also he eateth in darkness, and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.
21-5:19†††† Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
21-6:2††††† A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.
21-6:5††††† Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other.
21-6:6††††† Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
21-6:8††††† For what hath the wise more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living?
21-6:10†††† That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he.
21-7:13†††† Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?
21-7:14†††† In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.
21-7:29†††† Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
21-8:8††††† There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
21-8:15†††† Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.
21-9:9††††† Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
21-10:20††† Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.
22-1:4††††† Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
22-1:6††††† Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my motherís children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
22-3:8††††† They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
22-8:6††††† Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
22-8:8††††† We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
23-1:2††††† Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
23-1:12†††† When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
23-1:20†††† But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
23-1:30†††† For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
23-5:1††††† Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
23-5:14†††† Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
23-5:25†††† Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
23-6:7††††† And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
23-8:18†††† Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
23-9:2††††† The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
23-9:8††††† The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
23-10:10††† As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria:
23-10:12††† Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
23-10:14††† And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
23-10:28††† He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:
23-12:5†††† Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
23-14:4†††† That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
23-14:5†††† The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.
23-14:9†††† Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
23-14:24††† The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
23-14:27††† For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
23-14:32††† What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
23-16:13††† This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.
23-16:14††† But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
23-19:12††† Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
23-19:14††† The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
23-19:17††† And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
23-20:3†††† And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;
23-21:4†††† My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.
23-21:6†††† For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
23-21:9†††† And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
23-21:16††† For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
23-21:17††† And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.
23-22:25††† In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
23-23:4†††† Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.
23-23:8†††† Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?
23-23:9†††† The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.
23-23:11††† He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.
23-24:3†††† The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.
23-24:6†††† Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
23-25:8†††† He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
23-27:7†††† Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?
23-28:2†††† Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.
23-28:25††† When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place?
23-29:4†††† And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
23-29:8†††† It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
23-29:10††† For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
23-30:24††† The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
23-30:33††† For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
23-31:4†††† For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
23-33:5†††† The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
23-33:8†††† The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
23-33:14††† The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
23-34:2†††† For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
23-34:6†††† The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
23-34:16††† Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
23-34:17††† And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
23-36:7†††† But if thou say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
23-36:12††† But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?
23-36:18††† Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
23-37:4†††† It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
23-37:17††† Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.
23-37:22††† This is the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
23-38:7†††† And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;
23-38:15††† What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.
23-40:2†††† Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lordís hand double for all her sins.
23-40:5†††† And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
23-40:12††† Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
23-40:13††† Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
23-40:20††† He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
23-40:21††† Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
23-40:26††† Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
23-41:4†††† Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.
23-41:20††† That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
23-41:26††† Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
23-42:25††† Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
23-43:27††† Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
23-44:10††† Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?
23-44:18††† They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
23-44:20††† He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
23-44:23††† Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
23-45:9†††† Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
23-45:18††† For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
23-45:21††† Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
23-47:10††† For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.
23-48:5†††† I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
23-48:13††† Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
23-48:14††† All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
23-48:16††† Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
23-48:20††† Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
23-49:1†††† Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
23-49:2†††† And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
23-49:10††† They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
23-49:13††† Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
23-49:14††† But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
23-49:21††† Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?
23-50:4†††† The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
23-50:5†††† The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
23-50:10††† Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
23-51:9†††† Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?
23-51:10††† Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?
23-51:13††† And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
23-51:18††† There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up.
23-52:9†††† Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
23-52:10††† The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
23-53:1†††† Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
23-53:2†††† For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
23-53:4†††† Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
23-53:6†††† All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
23-53:10††† Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
23-53:12††† Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
23-54:6†††† For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
23-54:10††† For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
23-55:1†††† Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
23-55:5†††† Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
23-56:3†††† Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
23-58:14††† Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
23-59:3†††† For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
23-60:9†††† Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
23-61:1†††† The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
23-61:9†††† And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
23-61:10††† I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
23-62:8†††† The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
23-62:11††† Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
23-63:7†††† I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
23-64:4†††† For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
23-65:20††† There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
23-66:2†††† For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
23-66:8†††† Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
24-2:11†††† Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
24-2:30†††† In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
24-2:37†††† Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
24-3:3††††† Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whoreís forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
24-3:6††††† The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
24-3:10†††† And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
24-3:11†††† And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
24-3:24†††† For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
24-4:17†††† As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.
24-4:27†††† For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
24-5:23†††† But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.
24-6:6††††† For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.
24-6:24†††† We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
24-6:30†††† Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
24-7:29†††† Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
24-8:14†††† Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
24-8:21†††† For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.
24-9:12†††† Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
24-10:12††† He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
24-11:15††† What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
24-11:16††† The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.
24-11:17††† For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.
24-11:18††† And the LORD hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.
24-13:15††† Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
24-14:19††† Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul loathed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!
24-15:9†††† She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
24-16:10††† And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
24-18:13††† Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.
24-18:15††† Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;
24-20:3†††† And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magormissabib.
24-20:13††† Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
24-22:8†††† And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?
24-22:21††† I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
24-23:9†††† Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
24-23:17††† They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
24-23:18††† For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
24-23:28††† The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
24-23:35††† Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
24-23:37††† Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
24-25:3†††† From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
24-25:4†††† And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
24-25:5†††† They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
24-25:13††† And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
24-25:31††† A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
24-25:36††† A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
24-25:38††† He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
24-26:11††† Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
24-26:13††† Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
24-26:15††† But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
24-26:16††† Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
24-27:13††† Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
24-28:9†††† The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.
24-28:15††† Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
24-29:15††† Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;
24-29:26††† The LORD hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks.
24-29:31††† Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:
24-29:32††† Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
24-31:3†††† The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
24-31:11††† For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
24-31:22††† How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
24-32:31††† For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
24-33:24††† Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
24-34:14††† At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.
24-35:8†††† Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
24-35:16††† Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
24-35:18††† And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
24-36:7†††† It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
24-36:28††† Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.
24-38:21††† But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:
24-40:2†††† And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.
24-40:3†††† Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
24-40:5†††† Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.
24-40:14††† And said unto him, Dost thou certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites hath sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay thee? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not.
24-42:18††† For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
24-42:19††† The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.
24-42:21††† And now I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he hath sent me unto you.
24-43:2†††† Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:
24-45:3†††† Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
24-46:10††† For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
24-46:12††† The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.
24-46:17††† They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
24-47:7†††† How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
24-48:8†††† And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken.
24-48:11††† Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
24-48:36††† Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.
24-48:39††† They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.
24-48:42††† And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.
24-49:1†††† Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
24-49:16††† Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
24-49:20††† Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
24-49:24††† Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
24-49:30††† Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.
24-50:6†††† My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
24-50:14††† Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.
24-50:15††† Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.
24-50:17††† Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
24-50:25††† The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.
24-50:29††† Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.
24-50:43††† The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.
24-50:45††† Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.
24-51:5†††† For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
24-51:7†††† Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORDíS hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
24-51:10††† The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.
24-51:11††† Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.
24-51:12††† Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD hath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon.
24-51:14††† The LORD of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.
24-51:15††† He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.
24-51:30††† The mighty men of Babylon have forborn to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken.
24-51:34††† Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.
24-51:44††† And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
24-51:49††† As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.
24-51:51††† We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORDíS house.
24-51:55††† Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:
25-1:2††††† She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
25-1:5††††† Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
25-1:8††††† Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.
25-1:9††††† Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself.
25-1:10†††† The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
25-1:12†††† Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
25-1:13†††† From above hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate and faint all the day.
25-1:14†††† The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he hath made my strength to fall, the Lord hath delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
25-1:15†††† The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
25-1:17†††† Zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD hath commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
25-2:1††††† How hath the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!
25-2:2††††† The Lord hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
25-2:3††††† He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
25-2:4††††† He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
25-2:5††††† The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
25-2:6††††† And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
25-2:7††††† The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.
25-2:8††††† The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
25-2:9††††† Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
25-2:17†††† The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.
25-2:22†††† Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORDíS anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.
25-3:1††††† I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
25-3:2††††† He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
25-3:4††††† My flesh and my skin hath he made old: he hath broken my bones.
25-3:5††††† He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
25-3:6††††† He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
25-3:7††††† He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
25-3:9††††† He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
25-3:11†††† He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
25-3:12†††† He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
25-3:13†††† He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
25-3:15†††† He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
25-3:16†††† He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
25-3:20†††† My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
25-3:28†††† He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
25-4:11†††† The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.
25-4:16†††† The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
26-2:3††††† And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
26-2:5††††† And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
26-3:20†††† Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
26-4:14†††† Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.
26-5:6††††† And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
26-6:9††††† And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
26-7:10†††† Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.
26-8:12†††† Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
26-9:9††††† Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
26-12:9†††† Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
26-13:6†††† They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
26-14:9†††† And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
26-15:5†††† Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned?
26-16:48††† As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
26-16:51††† Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.
26-17:12††† Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;
26-17:13††† And hath taken of the kingís seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:
26-17:18††† Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
26-17:19††† Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.
26-17:20††† And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.
26-18:6†††† And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbourís wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,
26-18:7†††† And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;
26-18:8†††† He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,
26-18:9†††† Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
26-18:11††† And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbourís wife,
26-18:12††† Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination,
26-18:13††† Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
26-18:14††† Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his fatherís sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
26-18:15††† That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbourís wife,
26-18:16††† Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,
26-18:17††† That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
26-18:19††† Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
26-18:21††† But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
26-18:22††† All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
26-18:24††† But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
26-18:26††† When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
26-18:27††† Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
26-18:28††† Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
26-19:14††† And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
26-21:11††† And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.
26-22:11††† And one hath committed abomination with his neighbourís wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his fatherís daughter.
26-22:13††† Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
26-22:28††† And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
26-24:12††† She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.
26-24:24††† Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
26-25:12††† Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
26-26:2†††† Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:
26-27:26††† Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.
26-29:3†††† Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
26-29:9†††† And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I am the LORD: because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it.
26-31:10††† Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;
26-33:13††† When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
26-33:16††† None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
26-33:32††† And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
26-33:33††† And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
26-36:2†††† Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:
