01-2:9 And
out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the
sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and
the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
01-2:17 But
of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt
surely die.
01-3:5 For
God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened,
and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take

God saw that the wickedness of man was great

the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not

your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in

they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess

and make a graven image, or the

05-15:9 Beware
that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the
year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil
against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD
against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
05-17:7 The
hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and
afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.
05-17:12 And
the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that
standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even
that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil
from Israel.
05-19:19 Then
shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt
thou put the evil away from among you.
05-19:20 And
those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more
any such evil among you.

all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou
put evil away from among you; and all

give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil
name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her
not a maid:

ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone
them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because
he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.
05-24:7 If
a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of
05-26:6 And
the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted
us, and laid upon us hard bondage:
05-28:54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his
bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole

is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play
with his hand, and thou shalt be well.

took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well,
and the evil spirit departed from him.

it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil
spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house:
and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul’s hand.

the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as
he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
09-20:7 If
he say thus, It is well; thy servant
shall have peace: but if he be very wroth, then
be sure that evil is determined by him.

Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee,
then would not I tell it thee?

LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father to do thee evil,

righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.

of the house of Caleb.

is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.

pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the LORD will certainly
make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the LORD,
and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days.

when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the
hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil:
for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David
sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife.

he said, Wherefore doth my lord thus pursue after his servant? for what have I

the LORD.
14-22:4 Wherefore

house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to
his destruction.

that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit;

evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which
walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve
them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for
nothing.

the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the
enemy to entreat thee well in the
time of evil and in the time of affliction.

it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and
they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our
sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?

ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the
imagination of his evil heart, that they may not
hearken unto me:

not a terror unto me: thou art my
hope in the day of evil.
24-17:18 Let
them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be
dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
24-18:8 If
that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil
that I thought to do unto them.
24-18:10 If
it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my
voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil
against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.

they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we
will every one do the imagination of his evil
heart.
24-18:20 Shall
evil be recompensed for good? for they have
digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for
them, and to turn away thy wrath from
them.
24-19:3 And
say, Hear ye the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of
Jerusalem; Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will
bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever
heareth, his ears shall tingle.

saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city
and upon all her towns all the evil that I have
pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might
not hear my words.
24-21:10 For
I have set my face against this city for evil,
and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king
of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
24-21:12 O
house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and
deliver him that is spoiled out of
the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none
can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
24-23:2 Therefore
thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye
have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them:
behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your
doings, saith the LORD.
24-23:10 For
the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the
pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
24-23:12 Wherefore
their way shall be unto them as slippery ways
in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will
bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
24-23:17 They
say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace;
and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own
heart, No evil shall come upon you.
24-23:22 But
if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words,
then they should have turned them from their evil
way, and from the evil of their doings.
24-24:3 Then
said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good
figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
24-24:8 And
as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they
are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will
I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of
Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
24-25:5 They
said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil
way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell
in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and
ever:
24-25:29 For,
lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is
called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be
unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth,
saith the LORD of hosts.
24-25:32 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go
forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the
coasts of the earth.
24-26:3 If
so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil
way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I
purpose to do unto them because of the evil of
their doings.
24-26:13 Therefore
now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God;
and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he
hath pronounced against you.
24-26:19 Did
Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear
the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might
we procure great evil against our souls.

prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both
against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.

I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace,

may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil
which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their

may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return

when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,

we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may
be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.
24-42:10 If
ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not
pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn
there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and

we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn
incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as
we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of
Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then
had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
24-44:22 So
that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil
of your doings, and because of the
abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and
an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
24-44:23 Because
ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have
not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes,
nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is
happened unto you, as at this day.
24-44:27 Behold,
I will watch over them for evil, and not for
good: and all the men of Judah that are in
the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there
be an end of them.

this shall be a sign unto you, saith
the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words
shall surely stand against you for evil:

seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them
not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all
flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all
places whither thou goest.

a reward; and the great man, he
uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.

is one come out of thee, that
imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked
counsellor.
35-1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore
lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
35-2:9 Woe
to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his
house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the

let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than

if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil
spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
