01-GENESIS
01-13:12 Abram
dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities
of the plain, and pitched his tent
toward Sodom.
01-19:25 And
he overthrew those cities, and all the plain,
and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that
which grew upon the ground.
01-19:29 And
it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities
of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the
overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the
which Lot dwelt.
01-35:5 And
they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities
that were round about them, and they
did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
01-41:35 And
let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn
under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
01-41:48 And
he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of
Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the
food of the field, which was round
about every city, laid he up in the same.
01-47:21 And
as for the people, he removed them to cities
from one end of the borders of Egypt
even to the other end thereof.
02-1:11 Therefore
they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they
built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and
Raamses.
03-25:32 Notwithstanding
the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of
their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.
03-25:33 And
if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of
his possession, shall go out in the year
of jubile: for the houses of the cities of
the Levites are their possession
among the children of Israel.
03-25:34 But
the field of the suburbs of their cities may not
be sold; for it is their perpetual
possession.
03-26:25 And
I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered
together within your cities, I will send the
pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
03-26:31 And
I will make your cities waste, and bring your
sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet
odours.
03-26:33 And
I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and
your land shall be desolate, and your cities
waste.
04-13:19 And
what the land is that they dwell in,
whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that
they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;
04-13:28 Nevertheless
the people be strong that dwell in
the land, and the cities are walled, and very
great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
04-21:2 And
Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this
people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.
04-21:3 And
the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and
they utterly destroyed them and their cities:
and he called the name of the place Hormah.
04-21:25 And
Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt
in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon,
and in all the villages thereof.
04-31:10 And
they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt,
and all their goodly castles, with fire.
04-32:16 And
they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our
cattle, and cities for our little ones:
04-32:17 But
we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have
brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
04-32:24 Build
you cities for your little ones, and folds for
your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.
04-32:26 Our
little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead:
04-32:33 And
Moses gave unto them, even to the children
of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the
son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og
king of Bashan, the land, with the cities
thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
04-32:36 And
Bethnimrah, and Bethharan, fenced cities: and
folds for sheep.
04-32:38 And
Nebo, and Baalmeon, (their names being changed,) and Shibmah: and gave other
names unto the cities which they builded.
04-35:2 Command
the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of
their possession cities to dwell in; and ye
shall give also unto the Levites
suburbs for the cities round about them.
04-35:3 And
the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the
suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all
their beasts.
04-35:4 And
the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give
unto the Levites, shall reach from
the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.
04-35:5 And
ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits,
and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand
cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to
them the suburbs of the cities.
04-35:6 And
among the cities which ye shall give unto the
Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the
manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.
04-35:7 So all the cities
which ye shall give to the Levites shall
be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs.
04-35:8 And
the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the
children of Israel: from them that have many
ye shall give many; but from them that
have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance
which he inheriteth.
04-35:11 Then
ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee
thither, which killeth any person at unawares.
04-35:12 And
they shall be unto you cities for refuge from
the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation
in judgment.
04-35:13 And
of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.
04-35:14 Ye
shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and
three cities shall ye give in the land of
Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.
04-35:15 These
six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for
the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any
person unawares may flee thither.
05-1:22 And
ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us,
and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we
must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
05-1:28 Whither
shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great
and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims
there.
05-2:34 And
we took all his cities at that time, and utterly
destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left
none to remain:
05-2:35 Only
the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.
05-2:37 Only
unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the LORD
our God forbad us.
05-3:4 And
we took all his cities at that time, there was
not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities,
all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
05-3:5 All
these cities were
fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great
many.
05-3:7 But
all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we
took for a prey to ourselves.
05-3:10 All
the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all
Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the
kingdom of Og in Bashan.
05-3:12 And
this land, which we possessed at that
time, from Aroer, which is by the
river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities
thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
05-3:19 But
your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
05-4:41 Then
Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan
toward the sun rising;
05-4:42 That
the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and
hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:
05-6:10 And
it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which
he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee
great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst
not,
05-9:1 Hear,
O Israel: Thou art to pass over
Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself,
cities great and fenced up to heaven,
05-13:12 If
thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to
dwell there, saying,
05-19:1 When
the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth
thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities,
and in their houses;
05-19:2 Thou
shalt separate three cities for thee in the
midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
05-19:5 As
when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand
fetcheth a stroke with the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from
the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one
of those cities, and live:
05-19:7 Wherefore
I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities
for thee.
05-19:9 If
thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this
day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou
add three cities more for thee, beside these
three:
05-19:11 But
if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against
him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:
05-20:15 Thus
shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities
of these nations.
05-20:16 But
of the cities of these people, which the LORD
thy God doth give thee for an
inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
05-21:2 Then
thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are
round about him that is slain:
06-9:17 And
the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities
on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth,
and Kirjathjearim.
06-10:2 That
they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a
great city, as one of the royal cities, and
because it was greater than Ai, and
all the men thereof were mighty.
06-10:19 And
stay ye not, but pursue after your
enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into
your hand.
06-10:20 And
it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of
slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the
rest which remained of them entered
into fenced cities.
06-10:37 And
they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof,
and all the cities thereof, and all the souls
that were therein; he left none
remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it
utterly, and all the souls that were therein.
06-10:39 And
he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities
thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed
all the souls that were therein; he
left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the
king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
06-11:12 And
all the cities of those kings, and all the kings
of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses
the servant of the LORD commanded.
06-11:13 But
as for the cities
that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor
only; that did Joshua burn.
06-11:14 And
all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle,
the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they
smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left
they any to breathe.
06-11:21 And
at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from
Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from
all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
06-13:10 And
all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites,
which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;
06-13:17 Heshbon,
and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon,
06-13:21 And
all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom
of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with
the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of Sihon, dwelling in
the country.
06-13:23 And
the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families,
the cities and the villages thereof.
06-13:25 And
their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of
Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;
06-13:28 This
is the inheritance of the children of
Gad after their families, the cities, and their
villages.
06-13:30 And
their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of
Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are
in Bashan, threescore cities:
06-13:31 And
half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of
the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were
pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of
Machir by their families.
06-14:4 For
the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they
gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities
to dwell in, with their suburbs for
their cattle and for their substance.
06-14:12 Now
therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou
heardest in that day how the Anakims were
there, and that the cities were great
and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to
drive them out, as the LORD said.
06-15:9 And
the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of
Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount
Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:
06-15:21 And
the uttermost cities of the tribe of the
children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder,
and Jagur,
06-15:32 And
Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities
are twenty and nine, with their
villages:
06-15:36 And
Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:
06-15:41 And
Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities
with their villages:
06-15:44 And
Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities
with their villages:
06-15:51 And
Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with
their villages:
06-15:54 And
Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron,
and Zior; nine cities with their villages:
06-15:57 Cain,
Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their
villages:
06-15:59 And
Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities
with their villages:
06-15:60 Kirjathbaal,
which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah;
two cities with their villages:
06-15:62 And
Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities
with their villages.
06-16:9 And
the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the
children of Manasseh, all the cities with their
villages.
06-17:9 And
the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are
among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of
Manasseh also was on the north side
of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
06-17:12 Yet
the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but
the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
06-18:9 And
the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.
06-18:21 Now
the cities of the tribe of the children of
Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the
valley of Keziz.
06-18:24 And
Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities
with their villages:
06-18:28 And
Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem,
Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their
families.
06-19:6 And
Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and
their villages:
06-19:7 Ain,
Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and
their villages:
06-19:8 And
all the villages that were round
about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the
south. This is the inheritance of the
tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
06-19:15 And
Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.
06-19:16 This
is the inheritance of the children of
Zebulun according to their families, these cities
with their villages.
06-19:22 And
the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings
of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities
with their villages.
06-19:23 This
is the inheritance of the tribe of
the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
06-19:30 Ummah
also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities
with their villages.
06-19:31 This
is the inheritance of the tribe of
the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
06-19:35 And
the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,
06-19:38 And
Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.
06-19:39 This
is the inheritance of the tribe of
the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
06-19:48 This
is the inheritance of the tribe of
the children of Dan according to their families, these cities
with their villages.
06-20:2 Speak
to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities
of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses:
06-20:4 And
when he that doth flee unto one of those cities
shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his
cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city
unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
06-20:9 These
were the cities appointed for all the children
of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever
killeth any person at unawares might
flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood
before the congregation.
06-21:2 And
they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD
commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities
to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.
06-21:3 And
the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the
commandment of the LORD, these cities and their
suburbs.
06-21:4 And
the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron
the priest, which were of the
Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon,
and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
06-21:5 And
the rest of the children of Kohath had by
lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan,
and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
06-21:6 And
the children of Gershon had by lot
out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and
out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan,
thirteen cities.
06-21:7 The
children of Merari by their families had out
of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of
Zebulun, twelve cities.
06-21:8 And
the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by
the hand of Moses.
06-21:9 And
they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of
the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,
06-21:16 And
Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh with her suburbs; nine cities
out of those two tribes.
06-21:18 Anathoth
with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.
06-21:19 All
the cities of the children of Aaron, the
priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
06-21:20 And
the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the
children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their
lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
06-21:22 And
Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs; four cities.
06-21:24 Aijalon
with her suburbs, Gathrimmon with her suburbs; four cities.
06-21:25 And
out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with
her suburbs; two cities.
06-21:26 All
the cities were
ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that
remained.
06-21:27 And
unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her
suburbs, to be a city of refuge for
the slayer; and Beeshterah with her suburbs; two cities.
06-21:29 Jarmuth
with her suburbs, Engannim with her suburbs; four cities.
06-21:31 Helkath
with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.
06-21:32 And
out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer;
and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.
06-21:33 All
the cities of the Gershonites according to their
families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
06-21:35 Dimnah
with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.
06-21:37 Kedemoth
with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.
06-21:39 Heshbon
with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities
in all.
06-21:40 So
all the cities for the children of Merari by
their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.
06-21:41 All
the cities of the Levites within the possession
of the children of Israel were forty
and eight cities with their suburbs.
06-21:42 These
cities were every one with their suburbs round
about them: thus were all these cities.
06-24:13 And
I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of
the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.
07-10:4 And
he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havothjair unto this day,
which are in the land of Gilead.
07-11:26 While
Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all
the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore
did ye not recover them within that
time?
07-11:33 And
he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain
of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were
subdued before the children of Israel.
07-12:7 And
Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was
buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
07-20:14 But
the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the
children of Israel.
07-20:15 And
the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword,
beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
07-20:42 Therefore
they turned their backs before the
men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and
them which came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
07-20:48 And
the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them
with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set
on fire all the cities that they came to.
07-21:23 And
the children of Benjamin did so, and took them
wives, according to their number, of them that danced, whom they caught:
and they went and returned unto their inheritance, and repaired the cities, and dwelt in them.
09-6:18 And
the golden mice, according to the
number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities,
and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in
the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite.
09-7:14 And
the cities which the Philistines had taken from
Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts
thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was
peace between Israel and the Amorites.
09-18:6 And
it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the
Philistine, that the women came out of all cities
of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and
with instruments of musick.
09-30:29 And
to them which were in Rachal, and to them which
were in the cities
of the Jerahmeelites, and to them which
were in the cities
of the Kenites,
09-31:7 And
when the men of Israel that were on
the other side of the valley, and they that
were on the other side Jordan, saw
that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook
the cities, and fled; and the Philistines came
and dwelt in them.
10-2:1 And
it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go
up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD
said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto
Hebron.
10-2:3 And
his men that were with him did David
bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.
10-8:8 And
from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of
Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
10-10:12 Be
of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth
him good.
10-12:31 And
he brought forth the people that were therein,
and put them under saws, and under
harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the
brickkiln: and thus did he unto all the cities
of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
10-20:6 And
David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord’s
servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities,
and escape us.
10-24:7 And
came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities
of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah,
even to Beersheba.
11-4:13 The
son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained
the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also
pertained the region of Argob, which is
in Bashan, threescore great cities with
walls and brasen bars:
11-8:37 If
there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their
enemy besiege them in the land of their cities;
whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there
be;
11-9:11 (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had
furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to
all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
11-9:12 And
Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which
Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.
11-9:13 And
he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them
the land of Cabul unto this day.
11-9:19 And
all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities
for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in
Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
11-10:26 And
Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four
hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.
11-12:17 But
as for the children of Israel which
dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned
over them.
11-13:32 For
the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel,
and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall
surely come to pass.
11-15:20 So
Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he
had against the cities of Israel, and smote
Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of
Naphtali.
11-15:23 The
rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of
Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
11-20:34 And
Benhadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will
restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in
Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send
thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him
away.
11-22:39 Now
the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he
made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the
chronicles of the kings of Israel?
12-3:25 And
they beat down the cities, and on every good piece
of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells
of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kirharaseth left they the
stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.
12-13:25 And
Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of
Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the
hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and
recovered the cities of Israel.
12-17:6 In
the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel
away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities
of the Medes.
12-17:9 And
the children of Israel did secretly those
things that were not right
against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced
city.
12-17:24 And
the king of Assyria brought men from
Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim,
and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel:
and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities
thereof.
12-17:26 Wherefore
they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed,
and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not
the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them,
and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the
land.
12-17:29 Howbeit
every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had
made, every nation in their cities wherein they
dwelt.
12-18:11 And
the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah
and in Habor by the river of Gozan,
and in the cities of the Medes:
12-18:13 Now
in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up
against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took
them.
12-19:25 Hast
thou not heard long ago how I have
done it, and of ancient times that I have
formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste
fenced cities into ruinous heaps.
12-23:5 And
he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to
burn incense in the high places in the cities of
Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense
unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host
of heaven.
12-23:8 And
he brought all the priests out of the cities of
Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from
Geba to Beersheba, and brake down the high places of the gates that were in the entering in of the gate of
Joshua the governor of the city, which were
on a man’s left hand at the gate of the city.
12-23:19 And
all the houses also of the high places that were
in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of
Israel had made to provoke the LORD to
anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had
done in Bethel.
13-2:22 And
Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities
in the land of Gilead.
13-2:23 And
he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and
the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged
to the sons of Machir, the father of Gilead.
13-4:31 And
at Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusim, and at Bethbirei, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities
unto the reign of David.
13-4:32 And
their villages were, Etam, and Ain,
Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities:
13-4:33 And
all their villages that were round
about the same cities, unto Baal. These were their habitations, and their
genealogy.
13-6:57 And
to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of
Judah, namely, Hebron, the city of refuge, and Libnah with her
suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa, with their suburbs,
13-6:60 And
out of the tribe of Benjamin; Geba with her suburbs, and Alemeth with her
suburbs, and Anathoth with her suburbs. All their cities
throughout their families were thirteen
cities.
13-6:61 And
unto the sons of Kohath, which were left
of the family of that tribe, were cities given out of the half tribe, namely, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.
13-6:62 And
to the sons of Gershom throughout their families out of the tribe of Issachar,
and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the
tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
13-6:63 Unto
the sons of Merari were given by lot,
throughout their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of
Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
13-6:64 And
the children of Israel gave to the Levites these
cities with their suburbs.
13-6:65 And
they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the
tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of
Benjamin, these cities, which are called by their names.
13-6:66 And
the residue of the families of the
sons of Kohath had cities of their coasts out of
the tribe of Ephraim.
13-6:67 And
they gave unto them, of the cities of refuge, Shechem in mount Ephraim with her
suburbs; they gave also Gezer with
her suburbs,
13-9:2 Now
the first inhabitants that dwelt in
their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests,
Levites, and the Nethinims.
13-10:7 And
when all the men of Israel that were in
the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they
forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines
came and dwelt in them.
13-13:2 And
David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that
it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every
where, that are left in all the land
of Israel, and with them also to the
priests and Levites which are in
their cities and
suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
13-18:8 Likewise
from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of
Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen
sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
13-19:7 So
they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his
people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered
themselves together from their cities, and came
to battle.
13-19:13 Be
of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for
the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight.
13-20:3 And
he brought out the people that were in
it, and cut them with saws, and with
harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the
people returned to Jerusalem.
13-27:25 And
over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth
the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:
14-1:14 And
Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred
chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
14-6:28 If
there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or
mildew, locusts, or caterpillars; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever
sickness there be:
14-8:2 That
the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon,
Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
14-8:4 And
he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities,
which he built in Hamath.
14-8:5 Also
he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
14-8:6 And
Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon
had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired
to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his
dominion.
14-9:25 And
Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand
horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities,
and with the king at Jerusalem.
14-10:17 But
as for the children of Israel that
dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned
over them.
14-11:5 And
Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities
for defence in Judah.
14-11:10 And
Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are
in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.
14-12:4 And
he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to
Jerusalem.
14-13:19 And
Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities
from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof,
and Ephrain with the towns thereof.
14-14:5 Also
he took away out of all the cities of Judah the
high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
14-14:6 And
he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land
had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him
rest.
14-14:7 Therefore
he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities,
and make about them walls, and
towers, gates, and bars, while the
land is yet before us; because we
have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and
prospered.
14-14:14 And
they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for
the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
14-15:8 And
when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took
courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and
Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had
taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.
14-16:4 And
Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against
the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan,
and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of
Naphtali.
14-17:2 And
he placed forces in all the fenced cities of
Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
14-17:7 Also
in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to
Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities
of Judah.
14-17:9 And
they taught in Judah, and had the
book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.
14-17:12 And
Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.
14-17:13 And
he had much business in the cities of Judah: and
the men of war, mighty men of valour, were
in Jerusalem.
14-17:19 These
waited on the king, beside those whom
the king put in the fenced cities throughout all
Judah.
14-19:5 And
he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities
of Judah, city by city,
14-19:10 And
what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and
commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass
not against the LORD, and so wrath
come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
14-20:4 And
Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help
of the LORD: even out of all the cities of
Judah they came to seek the LORD.
14-21:3 And
their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious
things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the
kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was
the firstborn.
14-23:2 And
they went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the chief of the fathers of
Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.
14-24:5 And
he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto
the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money
to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the
matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.
14-25:13 But
the soldiers of the army which Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with
him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah,
from Samaria even unto Bethhoron, and smote three thousand of them, and took
much spoil.
14-26:6 And
he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of
Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
14-27:4 Moreover
he built cities in the mountains of Judah, and
in the forests he built castles and towers.
14-28:18 The
Philistines also had invaded the cities of the
low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Bethshemesh, and Ajalon,
and Gederoth, and Shocho with the villages thereof, and Timnah with the
villages thereof, Gimzo also and the villages thereof: and they dwelt there.
14-31:1 Now
when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and
cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all
Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly
destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his
possession, into their own cities.
14-31:6 And
concerning the children of Israel and
Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they
also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which
were consecrated unto the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps.
14-31:15 And
next him were Eden, and Miniamin, and
Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities
of the priests, in their set office, to
give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:
14-31:19 Also
of the sons of Aaron the priests, which
were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities,
in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to
all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies
among the Levites.
14-32:1 After
these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came,
and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.
14-32:29 Moreover
he provided him cities, and possessions of
flocks and herds in abundance: for God had given him substance very much.
14-33:14 Now
after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of
Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed
about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in
all the fenced cities of Judah.
14-34:6 And
so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto
Naphtali, with their mattocks round about.
15-2:70 So
the priests, and the Levites, and some of
the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their
cities, and all Israel in their cities.
15-3:1 And
when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities,
the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.
15-4:10 And
the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Asnapper brought over, and set
in the cities of Samaria, and the rest that are on this side the river, and at
such a time.
15-10:14 Let
now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken
strange wives in our cities come at appointed
times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until
the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.
16-7:73 So
the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and
all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the
seventh month came, the children of Israel were
in their cities.
16-8:15 And
that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities,
and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches,
and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of
thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.
16-9:25 And
they took strong cities, and a fat land, and
possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards,
and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat,
and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
16-10:37 And
that we should bring the firstfruits
of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine
and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the
tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the
tithes in all the cities of our tillage.
16-11:1 And
the rulers of the people dwelt at Jerusalem: the rest of the people also cast
lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to dwell in other cities.
16-11:3 Now
these are the chief of the province
that dwelt in Jerusalem: but in the cities of
Judah dwelt every one in his possession in their cities,
to wit, Israel, the priests, and the
Levites, and the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s servants.
16-11:20 And
the residue of Israel, of the priests, and
the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.
16-12:44 And
at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the
offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of
the fields of the cities the portions of the law
for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the
Levites that waited.
17-9:2 The
Jews gathered themselves together in their cities
throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought
their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all
people.
18-15:28 And
he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth,
which are ready to become heaps.
19-9:6 O
thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
19-69:35 For
God will save Zion, and will build the cities of
Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
23-1:7 Your
country is desolate, your cities are burned
with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by
strangers.
23-6:11 Then
said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities
be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be
utterly desolate,
23-14:17 That made the world as a wilderness, and
destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his
prisoners?
23-14:21 Prepare
slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not
rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
23-17:2 The
cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and
none shall make them afraid.
23-17:9 In
that day shall his strong cities be as a
forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the
children of Israel: and there shall be desolation.
23-19:18 In
that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt
speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be
called, The city of destruction.
23-33:8 The
highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he
hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
23-36:1 Now
it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defenced cities of Judah, and took them.
23-37:26 Hast
thou not heard long ago, how I have
done it; and of ancient times, that I
have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay
waste defenced cities into ruinous heaps.
23-40:9 O
Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O
Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
23-42:11 Let
the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the
inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
23-44:26 That
confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his
messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise
up the decayed places thereof:
23-54:3 For
thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall
inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities
to be inhabited.
23-61:4 And
they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations,
and they shall repair the waste cities, the
desolations of many generations.
23-64:10 Thy holy cities are
a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
24-1:15 For,
lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD;
and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of
the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and
against all the cities of Judah.
24-2:15 The
young lions roared upon him, and yelled,
and they made his land waste: his cities are
burned without inhabitant.
24-2:28 But
where are thy gods that thou hast
made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble:
for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
24-4:5 Declare
ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the
land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into
the defenced cities.
24-4:7 The
lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his
way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities
shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
24-4:16 Make
ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country,
and give out their voice against the cities of
Judah.
24-4:26 I
beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a
wilderness, and all the cities thereof were
broken down at the presence of the LORD, and
by his fierce anger.
24-5:6 Wherefore
a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and
a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn
in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
24-5:17 And
they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy
flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they
shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou
trustedst, with the sword.
24-7:17 Seest
thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and
in the streets of Jerusalem?
24-7:34 Then
will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah,
and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of
gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land
shall be desolate.
24-8:14 Why
do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our
God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we
have sinned against the LORD.
24-9:11 And
I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a
den of dragons; and I will make the cities of
Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
24-10:22 Behold,
the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country,
to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
24-11:6 Then
the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities
of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this
covenant, and do them.
24-11:12 Then
shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of
Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they
shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
24-11:13 For
according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets
of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that
shameful thing, even altars to
burn incense unto Baal.
24-13:19 The
cities of the south shall be shut up, and none
shall open them: Judah shall be
carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.
24-17:26 And
they shall come from the cities of Judah, and
from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the
plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings,
and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of
praise, unto the house of the LORD.
24-20:16 And
let that man be as the cities which the LORD
overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the
shouting at noontide;
24-22:6 For
thus saith the LORD unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the
head of Lebanon: yet surely I will
make thee a wilderness, and cities which are
not inhabited.
24-25:18 To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the
princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a
curse; as it is this day;
24-26:2 Thus
saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD’S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’S
house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a
word:
24-31:21 Set
thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to
these thy cities.
24-31:23 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech
in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof,
when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of
justice, and mountain of holiness.
24-31:24 And
there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities
thereof together, husbandmen, and they that
go forth with flocks.
24-32:44 Men
shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of
Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities
of the mountains, and in the cities of the
valley, and in the cities of the south: for I
will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
24-33:10 Thus
saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and
without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that
are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
24-33:12 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and
without beast, and in all the cities thereof,
shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their
flocks to lie down.
24-33:13 In
the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places
about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah,
shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.
24-34:1 The
word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of
Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion,
and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,
24-34:7 When
the king of Babylon’s army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and
against Azekah: for these defenced cities
remained of the cities of Judah.
24-34:22 Behold,
I will command, saith the LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they
shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the
cities of Judah a desolation without an
inhabitant.
24-36:6 Therefore
go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words
of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD’S house upon the fasting day:
and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
24-36:9 And
it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah,
in the ninth month, that they
proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all
the people that came from the cities of Judah
unto Jerusalem.
24-40:5 Now
while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go
back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of
Babylon hath made governor over the cities of
Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth
convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a
reward, and let him go.
24-40:10 As
for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, which will come
unto us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.
24-44:2 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I
have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities
of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a
desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,
24-44:6 Wherefore
my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and
they are wasted and desolate, as at
this day.
24-44:17 But
we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn
incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as
we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were
well, and saw no evil.
24-44:21 The
incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah,
and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your
princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came
it not into his mind?
24-48:9 Give
wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.
24-48:15 Moab
is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the
slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the
LORD of hosts.
24-48:24 And
upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities
of the land of Moab, far or near.
24-48:28 O
ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and
dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that
maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth.
24-49:1 Concerning
the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and
his people dwell in his cities?
24-49:13 For
I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation,
a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities
thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
24-49:18 As
in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no
man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
24-50:32 And
the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will
kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour
all round about him.
24-50:40 As
God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither
shall any son of man dwell therein.
24-51:43 Her
cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a
wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.
25-5:11 They
ravished the women in Zion, and the
maids in the cities of Judah.
26-6:6 In
all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid
waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste
and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may
be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
26-12:20 And
the cities that are inhabited shall be laid
waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
26-19:7 And
he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the
noise of his roaring.
26-25:9 Therefore,
behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities,
from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country,
Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,
26-26:19 For
thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up
the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;
26-29:12 And
I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities
that are laid waste shall be desolate
forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will
disperse them through the countries.
26-30:7 And
they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities
shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted.
26-30:17 The
young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall
go into captivity.
26-35:4 I
will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be
desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the
LORD.
26-35:9 I
will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities
shall not return: and ye shall know that I am
the LORD.
26-36:4 Therefore,
ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD
to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the
desolate wastes, and to the cities that are
forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
26-36:10 And
I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall
be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:
26-36:33 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your
iniquities I will also cause you to
dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be
builded.
26-36:35 And
they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden;
and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
26-36:38 As
the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the
waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and
they shall know that I am the LORD.
26-39:9 And
they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go
forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the
bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they
shall burn them with fire seven years:
27-11:15 So
the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced
cities: and the arms of the south shall not
withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
28-8:14 For
Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath
multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire
upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces
thereof.
28-11:6 And
the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall
consume his branches, and devour them, because
of their own counsels.
28-13:10 I
will be thy king: where is any other that
may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges
of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
30-4:6 And
I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities,
and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith
the LORD.
30-4:8 So
two or three cities
wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have
ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
30-9:14 And
I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build
the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards,
and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of
them.
31-1:20 And
the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
33-5:11 And
I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw
down all thy strong holds:
33-5:14 And
I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.
33-7:12 In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and
from sea to sea, and from mountain to
mountain.
36-1:16 A
day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities,
and against the high towers.
36-3:6 I
have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets
waste, that none passeth by: their cities are
destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
38-1:12 Then
the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou
not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of
Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
38-1:17 Cry
yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities
through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort
Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
38-7:7 Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets,
when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?
38-8:20 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet
come to pass, that there shall come
people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
40-9:35 And
Jesus went about all the cities and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
40-10:23 But
when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say
unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities
of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
40-11:1 And
it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples,
he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
40-11:20 Then
began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of
his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
40-14:13 When
Jesus heard of it, he departed thence
by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out
of the cities.
41-6:33 And
the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of
all cities, and outwent them, and came together
unto him.
41-6:56 And
whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities,
or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might
touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were
made whole.
42-4:43 And
he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
42-13:22 And
he went through the cities and villages,
teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
42-19:17 And
he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a
very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
42-19:19 And
he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
44-5:16 There
came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick
folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed
every one.
44-8:40 But
Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
44-14:6 They
were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra
and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the
region that lieth round about:
44-16:4 And
as they went through the cities, they delivered
them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders
which were at Jerusalem.
44-26:11 And
I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I
persecuted them even unto strange cities.
61-2:6 And
turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into
ashes condemned them with an
overthrow, making them an ensample
unto those that after should live ungodly;
65-1:7 Even
as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them
in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange
flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
66-16:19 And
the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities
of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give
unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
