40-MATTHEW
40-1:22 Now
all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
40-2:5 And
they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
40-2:14 When
he arose, he took the young child and his mother by
night, and departed into Egypt:
40-2:15 And
was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt
have I called my son.
40-2:17 Then
was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy
the prophet, saying,
40-2:23 And
he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which
was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a
Nazarene.
40-3:3 For
this is he that was spoken of by the prophet
Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way
of the Lord, make his paths straight.
40-4:4 But
he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
40-4:14 That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias
the prophet, saying,
40-4:15 The
land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond
Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
40-4:18 And Jesus, walking by
the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his
brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
40-5:21 Ye
have heard that it was said by them of old time,
Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the
judgment:
40-5:26 Verily
I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out
thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
40-5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
40-5:33 Again,
ye have heard that it hath been said by them of
old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord
thine oaths:
40-5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
40-5:35 Nor
by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
40-5:36 Neither
shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst
not make one hair white or black.
40-6:27 Which
of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto
his stature?
40-7:16 Ye
shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather
grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
40-7:20 Wherefore
by their fruits ye shall know them.
40-8:17 That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias
the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
40-8:28 And
when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there
met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce,
so that no man might pass by that way.
40-9:25 But
when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
40-11:12 And
from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth
violence, and the violent take it by force.
40-12:17 That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias
the prophet, saying,
40-12:24 But
when the Pharisees heard it, they
said, This fellow doth not cast out
devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the
devils.
40-12:27 And
if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
40-12:28 But
if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then
the kingdom of God is come unto you.
40-12:33 Either
make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his
fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
40-12:37 For by thy words
thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou
shalt be condemned.
40-13:1 The
same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by
the sea side.
40-13:4 And
when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them
up:
40-13:14 And
in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand;
and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
40-13:19 When
any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one,
and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which
received seed by the way side.
40-13:21 Yet
hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or
persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
40-13:35 That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the
prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which
have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
40-14:13 When
Jesus heard of it, he departed thence
by ship into a desert place apart: and when the
people had heard thereof, they
followed him on foot out of the cities.
40-15:3 But
he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of
God by your tradition?
40-15:5 But
ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father
or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou
mightest be profited by me;
40-15:6 And
honour not his father or his mother, he
shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
40-17:21 Howbeit
this kind goeth not out but by prayer and
fasting.
40-18:7 Woe
unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but
woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
40-18:28 But
the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him
an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me
that thou owest.
40-20:30 And,
behold, two blind men sitting by the way side,
when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out,
saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son
of David.
40-21:4 All
this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
40-21:23 And
when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the
people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By
what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
40-21:24 And
Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye
tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what
authority I do these things.
40-21:27 And
they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither
tell I you by what authority I do these things.
40-22:1 And
Jesus answered and spake unto them again by
parables, and said,
40-22:31 But
as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was
spoken unto you by God, saying,
40-23:16 Woe
unto you, ye blind guides, which say,
Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
40-23:18 And,
Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is
nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that
is upon it, he is guilty.
40-23:20 Whoso
therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all
things thereon.
40-23:21 And
whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that
dwelleth therein.
40-23:22 And
he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by
him that sitteth thereon.
40-24:15 When
ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso
readeth, let him understand:)
40-26:4 And
consulted that they might take Jesus by
subtilty, and kill him.
40-26:24 The
Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of
man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
40-26:63 But
Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure
thee by the living God, that thou tell us
whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
40-26:73 And
after a while came unto him they that
stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also
art one of them; for thy speech
bewrayeth thee.
40-27:9 Then
was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy
the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of
him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
40-27:32 And
as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by
name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
40-27:35 And
they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They
parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
40-27:39 And
they that passed by reviled him, wagging their
heads,
40-27:64 Command
therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his
disciples come by night, and steal him away, and
say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be
worse than the first.
40-28:9 And
as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail.
And they came and held him by the feet, and
worshipped him.
40-28:13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
41-MARK
41-1:16 Now
as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon
and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
41-1:31 And
he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her
up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
41-2:13 And he went forth again by
the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught
them.
41-2:14 And
as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt
of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
41-3:22 And
the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
41-4:1 And
he began again to teach by the sea side: and
there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship,
and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by
the sea on the land.
41-4:2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
41-4:4 And
it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the
way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
41-4:15 And
these are they by the way side, where the word
is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away
the word that was sown in their hearts.
41-5:4 Because
that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been
plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken
in pieces: neither could any man tame
him.
41-5:7 And
cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure
thee by God, that thou torment me not.
41-5:21 And
when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto
the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
41-5:22 And,
behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
41-5:41 And
he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto
her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
41-6:2 And
when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him
were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are
wrought by his hands?
41-6:7 And he called unto
him the twelve, and began to send them forth by
two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
41-6:25 And
she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will
that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
41-6:32 And
they departed into a desert place by ship
privately.
41-6:39 And
he commanded them to make all sit down by
companies upon the green grass.
41-6:40 And
they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41-6:48 And
he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about
the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and
would have passed by them.
41-7:11 But
ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a
gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall
be free.
41-7:26 The
woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation;
and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
41-8:3 And if I send them away fasting to their own
houses, they will faint by the way: for
divers of them came from far.
41-8:23 And
he took the blind man by the hand, and led him
out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him,
he asked him if he saw ought.
41-8:27 And
Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them,
Whom do men say that I am?
41-9:2 And
after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter,
and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
41-9:27 But
Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up;
and he arose.
41-9:29 And
he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing,
but by prayer and fasting.
41-9:33 And
he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye
disputed among yourselves by the way?
41-9:34 But
they held their peace: for by the way they had
disputed among themselves, who should be the
greatest.
41-10:1 And
he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort
unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
41-10:46 And
they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a
great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
41-11:4 And
they went their way, and found the colt tied by
the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
41-11:20 And
in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the
fig tree dried up from the roots.
41-11:28 And
say unto him, By what authority doest thou these
things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
41-11:29 And
Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and
answer me, and I will tell you by what authority
I do these things.
41-11:33 And
they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith
unto them, Neither do I tell you by what
authority I do these things.
41-12:1 And
he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set
an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower,
and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
41-12:36 For
David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD
said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy
footstool.
41-13:14 But
when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not,
(let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the
mountains:
41-14:1 After
two days was the feast of the
passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought
how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.
41-14:19 And
they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by
one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
41-14:21 The
Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for
that man if he had never been born.
41-14:47 And
one of them that stood by drew a sword, and
smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
41-14:69 And
a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of
them.
41-14:70 And
he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
41-15:21 And
they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by,
coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his
cross.
41-15:29 And
they that passed by railed on him, wagging their
heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
41-15:35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
42-LUKE
42-1:61 And they said unto her, There is none of thy
kindred that is called by this name.
42-1:70 As he spake by the
mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
42-1:77 To
give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the
remission of their sins,
42-2:8 And
there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch
over their flock by night.
42-2:18 And
all they that heard it wondered at
those things which were told them by the
shepherds.
42-2:26 And
it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that
he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
42-2:27 And
he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when
the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the
law,
42-3:19 But
Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for
Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,
42-4:1 And
Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
42-4:4 And
Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word of God.
42-5:1 And
it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God,
he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
42-5:2 And
saw two ships standing by the lake: but the
fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
42-5:15 But
so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came
together to hear, and to be healed by him of
their infirmities.
42-5:17 And
it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees
and doctors of the law sitting by, which were
come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of
the Lord was present to heal them.
42-5:19 And
when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of
the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling
with his couch into the midst before
Jesus.
42-6:44 For every tree is known by
his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble
bush gather they grapes.
42-8:4 And
when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every
city, he spake by a parable:
42-8:5 A
sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the
fowls of the air devoured it.
42-8:12 Those
by the way side are they that hear; then cometh
the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should
believe and be saved.
42-8:20 And
it was told him by
certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to
see thee.
42-8:36 They
also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was
healed.
42-8:54 And
he put them all out, and took her by the hand,
and called, saying, Maid, arise.
42-9:7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it
was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;
42-9:14 For
they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit
down by fifties in a company.
42-9:47 And
Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
42-10:4 Carry
neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by
the way.
42-10:19 Behold,
I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the
power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any
means hurt you.
42-10:31 And
by chance there came down a certain priest that
way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the
other side.
42-10:32 And
likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
42-11:3 Give
us day by day our daily bread.
42-11:19 And
if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
42-13:17 And
when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the
people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
42-16:22 And
it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by
the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
42-17:6 And
the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto
this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the
root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
42-17:7 But
which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is
come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
42-18:5 Yet
because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
42-18:31 Then
he took unto him the twelve, and said
unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be
accomplished.
42-18:35 And
it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat
by the way side begging:
42-18:36 And
hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it
meant.
42-18:37 And
they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
42-19:8 And
Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I
give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
42-19:15 And
it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then
he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the
money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
42-19:24 And
he said unto them that stood by, Take from him
the pound, and give it to him that
hath ten pounds.
42-20:2 And
spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what
authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?
42-20:8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
42-21:9 But
when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things
must first come to pass; but the end is not
by and by.
42-21:16 And
ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren,
and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of
you shall they cause to be put to death.
42-21:24 And
they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and
shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down
of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
42-22:22 And
truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
42-22:56 But
a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire,
and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
42-23:8 And
when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of
a long season, because he had heard
many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
42-24:4 And
it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
42-24:12 Then
arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen
clothes laid by themselves, and departed,
wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
42-24:32 And
they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked
with us by the way, and while he opened to us
the scriptures?
43-JOHN
43-1:3 All things were made by
him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
43-1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
43-1:17 For
the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus
Christ.
43-1:42 And
he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the
son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by
interpretation, A stone.
43-3:2 The
same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi,
we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles
that thou doest, except God be with him.
43-3:34 For
he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto
him.
43-5:2 Now
there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the
Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
43-6:15 When
Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a
mountain himself alone.
43-6:18 And
the sea arose by reason of a great wind that
blew.
43-6:57 As
the living Father hath sent me, and I live by
the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by
me.
43-7:50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)
43-8:9 And
they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience,
went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left
alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
43-8:59 Then
took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the
temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
43-9:1 And
as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
43-9:7 And
said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore,
and washed, and came seeing.
43-9:21 But
by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who
hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for
himself.
43-10:1 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by
the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a
thief and a robber.
43-10:2 But
he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd
of the sheep.
43-10:3 To
him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own
sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
43-10:9 I
am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall
be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
43-11:39 Jesus
said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by
this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead
four days.
43-11:42 And
I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that
they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43-12:11 Because that by
reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
43-12:29 The
people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said,
An angel spake to him.
43-13:35 By this shall all men know that
ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
43-14:6 Jesus
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.
43-16:30 Now
are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should
ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest
forth from God.
43-18:22 And
when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying,
Answerest thou the high priest so?
43-19:7 The
Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law
he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
43-19:25 Now
there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother,
and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of
Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
43-19:26 When
Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman,
behold thy son!
43-19:39 And
there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes,
about an hundred pound weight.
43-20:7 And
the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but
wrapped together in a place by itself.
43-21:19 This
spake he, signifying by what death he should
glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
44-ACTS
44-1:3 To
whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by
many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the
things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
44-1:10 And
while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood
by them in white apparel;
44-1:16 Men
and brethren, this scripture must
needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by
the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that
took Jesus.
44-1:25 That
he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own
place.
44-2:16 But
this is that which was spoken by the prophet
Joel;
44-2:22 Ye
men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among
you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God
did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves
also know:
44-2:23 Him,
being delivered by the determinate counsel and
foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by
wicked hands have crucified and slain:
44-2:33 Therefore
being by the right hand of God exalted, and
having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth
this, which ye now see and hear.
44-2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders
and signs were done by the apostles.
44-3:7 And
he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and
ancle bones received strength.
44-3:12 And
when Peter saw it, he answered unto
the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so
earnestly on us, as though by our own power or
holiness we had made this man to walk?
44-3:16 And
his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and
know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given
him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
44-3:18 But
those things, which God before had shewed by the
mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
44-3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of
restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by
the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
44-4:7 And
when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By
what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
44-4:9 If
we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
44-4:10 Be
it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye
crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even
by him doth this man stand here before you
whole.
44-4:16 Saying,
What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done
by them is
manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
44-4:25 Who
by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why
did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
44-4:30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs
and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy
child Jesus.
44-4:36 And
Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed
Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
44-5:10 Then
fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young
men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
44-5:12 And
by the hands of the apostles were many signs and
wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in
Solomon’s porch.
44-5:15 Insomuch
that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the
least the shadow of Peter passing by might
overshadow some of them.
44-5:19 But
the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison
doors, and brought them forth, and said,
44-6:10 And
they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by
which he spake.
44-7:25 For
he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood
not.
44-7:35 This
Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same
did God send to be a ruler and a
deliverer by the hand of the angel which
appeared to him in the bush.
44-7:42 Then
God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in
the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts
and sacrifices by
the space of forty years in the wilderness?
44-7:53 Who
have received the law by the disposition of
angels, and have not kept it.
44-9:8 And
Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but
they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
44-9:13 Then
Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of
this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
44-9:25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him
down by the wall in a basket.
44-9:36 Now
there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was
full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
44-9:39 Then
Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the
upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him
weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was
with them.
44-10:6 He
lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by
the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
44-10:22 And
they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and
of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and
to hear words of thee.
44-10:32 Send
therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side:
who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
44-10:36 The
word which God sent unto the children
of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he
is Lord of all:)
44-11:4 But
Peter rehearsed the matter from the
beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,
44-11:5 I
was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let
down from heaven by four corners; and it
came even to me:
44-11:28 And
there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by
the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which
came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
44-11:30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
44-12:9 And
he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
44-12:20 And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre
and Sidon: but they came with one accord
to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend,
desired peace; because their country was nourished by
the king’s country.
44-13:4 So
they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost,
departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
44-13:8 But
Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by
interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
44-13:11 And
now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon
thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately
there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead
him by the hand.
44-13:19 And
when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their
land to them by lot.
44-13:21 And
afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a
man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of
forty years.
44-13:36 For
David, after he had served his own generation by
the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw
corruption:
44-13:39 And
by him all that believe are justified from all
things, from which ye could not be justified by
the law of Moses.
44-13:45 But
when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against
those things which were spoken by Paul,
contradicting and blaspheming.
44-14:3 Long
time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony
unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
44-15:3 And
being brought on their way by the church, they
passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles:
and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
44-15:7 And
when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good
while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by
my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
44-15:9 And
put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
44-15:12 Then
all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had
wrought among the Gentiles by them.
44-15:23 And
they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and
brethren send greeting unto the
brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
44-15:27 We
have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
44-15:40 And
Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by
the brethren unto the grace of God.
44-16:2 Which
was well reported of by the brethren that were
at Lystra and Iconium.
44-16:8 And
they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
44-16:13 And
on the sabbath we went out of the city by a
river side, where prayer was wont to be
made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
44-16:16 And
it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her
masters much gain by soothsaying:
44-17:10 And
the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by
night unto Berea: who coming thither went
into the synagogue of the Jews.
44-17:23 For
as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I
found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye
ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
44-17:29 Forasmuch
then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone,
graven by art and man’s device.
44-17:31 Because
he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man
whom he hath ordained; whereof he
hath given assurance unto all men, in
that he hath raised him from the dead.
44-18:3 And
because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
44-18:9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold
not thy peace:
44-18:21 But
bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means
keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if
God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
44-18:28 For
he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly,
shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
44-19:10 And
this continued by the space of two years; so
that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews
and Greeks.
44-19:11 And
God wrought special miracles by the hands of
Paul:
44-19:13 Then
certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which
had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
44-19:25 Whom
he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know
that by this craft we have our wealth.
44-20:16 For
Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because
he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for
him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
44-20:19 Serving
the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which
befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
44-20:31 Therefore
watch, and remember, that by the space of three
years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
44-21:19 And
when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought
among the Gentiles by his ministry.
44-22:11 And
when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
44-22:20 And
when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the
raiment of them that slew him.
44-22:24 The
chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he
should be examined by scourging; that he might
know wherefore they cried so against him.
44-22:25 And
as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a
Roman, and uncondemned?
44-23:2 And
the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by
him to smite him on the mouth.
44-23:4 And
they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s
high priest?
44-23:10 And
when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul
should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down,
and to take him by force from among them, and to
bring him into the castle.
44-23:11 And
the night following the Lord stood by him, and
said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so
must thou bear witness also at Rome.
44-23:19 Then
the chief captain took him by the hand, and went
with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?
44-23:31 Then
the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by
night to Antipatris.
44-24:2 And
when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we
enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
44-24:8 Commanding
his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of
whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.
44-24:21 Except
it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the
resurrection of the dead I am called in question by
you this day.
44-25:14 And
when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul’s cause unto the king,
saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by
Felix:
44-26:18 To
open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that
they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are
sanctified by faith that is in me.
44-27:2 And
entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
44-27:11 Nevertheless
the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things
which were spoken by Paul.
44-27:12 And
because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to
depart thence also, if by any means they might
attain to Phenice, and there to
winter; which is an haven of Crete,
and lieth toward the south west and north west.
44-27:13 And
when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
44-27:16 And
running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come
by the boat:
44-27:23 For there stood by
me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
44-28:16 And
when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of
the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by
himself with a soldier that kept him.
44-28:25 And
when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
45-ROMANS
45-1:2 (Which
he had promised afore by his prophets in the
holy scriptures,)
45-1:4 And
declared to be the Son of God with
power, according to the spirit of holiness, by
the resurrection from the dead:
45-1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for
obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
45-1:10 Making
request, if by any means now at length I might
have a prosperous journey by the will of God to
come unto you.
45-1:12 That
is, that I may be comforted together with you by
the mutual faith both of you and me.
45-1:17 For
therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is
written, The just shall live by faith.
45-1:20 For
the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so
that they are without excuse:
45-2:7 To
them who by patient continuance in well doing
seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
45-2:12 For
as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many
as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the
law;
45-2:14 For
when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by
nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law
unto themselves:
45-2:16 In
the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by
Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
45-2:27 And
shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if
it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter
and circumcision dost transgress the law?
45-3:20 Therefore
by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be
justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
45-3:21 But
now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
45-3:22 Even
the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them
that believe: for there is no difference:
45-3:24 Being justified freely by
his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
45-3:27 Where
is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
45-3:28 Therefore
we conclude that a man is justified by faith
without the deeds of the law.
45-3:30 Seeing
it is one God, which shall justify
the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision
through faith.
45-4:2 For
if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
45-4:16 Therefore
it is of faith, that it might be by
grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only
which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is
the father of us all,
45-5:1 Therefore
being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:
45-5:2 By whom also we have access by
faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of
God.
45-5:5 And
hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
45-5:9 Much
more then, being now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him.
45-5:10 For
if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by
the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
45-5:11 And
not only so, but we also joy in God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now
received the atonement.
45-5:12 Wherefore,
as by one man sin entered into the world, and
death by sin; and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned:
45-5:15 But
not as the offence, so also is the
free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace
of God, and the gift by grace, which is by
one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
45-5:16 And
not as it was by one that sinned, so is the
gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
45-5:17 For
if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of
grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
45-5:18 Therefore
as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
45-5:19 For
as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners,
so by the obedience of one shall many be made
righteous.
45-5:21 That
as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness
unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
45-6:4 Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by
the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
45-7:2 For
the woman which hath an husband is bound by the
law to her husband so long as he
liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
45-7:4 Wherefore,
my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by
the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth
fruit unto God.
45-7:5 For
when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth
fruit unto death.
45-7:7 What
shall we say then? is the law sin?
God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the
law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
45-7:8 But
sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought
in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
45-7:11 For
sin, taking occasion by the commandment,
deceived me, and by it slew me.
45-7:13 Was
then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might
appear sin, working death in me by that which is
good; that sin by the commandment might become
exceeding sinful.
45-8:11 But
if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that
raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
45-8:14 For
as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are
the sons of God.
45-8:20 For
the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
45-8:24 For
we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not
hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
45-9:10 And
not only this; but when Rebecca also
had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
45-9:32 Wherefore?
Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by
the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
45-10:5 For
Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which
doeth those things shall live by them.
45-10:17 So
then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by
the word of God.
45-10:19 But
I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are
no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
45-11:6 And
if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more
grace: otherwise work is no more work.
45-11:14 If
by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save
some of them.
45-11:20 Well;
because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
45-11:24 For
if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by
nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much
more shall these, which be the natural branches,
be grafted into their own olive tree?
45-12:1 I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies
of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto
God, which is your reasonable
service.
45-12:2 And
be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by

you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.
45-15:28 When
therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will
come by you into Spain.
45-15:32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
