01-9:22 And Ham,
the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
01-9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of
servants shall he be unto his brethren.
01-13:8 And Abram
said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and
between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.
01-16:12 And he
will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s
hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
01-19:7 And said,
I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
01-24:27 And he
said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left
destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the
LORD led me to the house of my master’s brethren.
01-25:18 And they
dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward
Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
01-27:29 Let people
serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee:
cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that
blesseth thee.
01-27:37 And Isaac
answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with
corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?
01-29:4 And Jacob
said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye?
And they said, Of Haran are we.
01-31:23 And he
took his brethren with him, and pursued after
him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.
01-31:25 Then Laban
overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his
brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.
01-31:32 With
whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me,
and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
01-31:37 Whereas
thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household
stuff? set it here before my brethren and
thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us
both.
01-31:46 And Jacob
said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they
took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.
01-31:54 Then Jacob
offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren
to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.
01-34:11 And
Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren,
Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
01-34:25 And it
came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of
Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brethren, took
each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.
01-37:2 These are
the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was
feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad
was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s
wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.
01-37:4 And when
his brethren saw that their father loved him
more than all his brethren, they hated him, and
could not speak peaceably unto him.
01-37:5 And
Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren:
and they hated him yet the more.
01-37:8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us?
or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for
his dreams, and for his words.
01-37:9 And he
dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren,
and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the
moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.
01-37:10 And he
told it to his father, and to his brethren:
and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that
thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren
indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?
01-37:11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the
saying.
01-37:12 And his brethren went to feed their father’s flock in Shechem.
01-37:13 And Israel
said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the
flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him,
Here am I.
01-37:14 And he
said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word
again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.
01-37:16 And he said, I seek my brethren:
tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks.
01-37:17 And the
man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan.
And Joseph went after his brethren, and found
them in Dothan.
01-37:23 And it
came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren,
that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours
that was on him;
01-37:26 And Judah
said unto his brethren, What profit is it if
we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
01-37:27 Come, and
let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is
our brother and our flesh. And his brethren
were content.
01-37:30 And he
returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is
not; and I, whither shall I go?
01-38:1 And it
came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose
name was Hirah.
01-38:11 Then said
Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house, till
Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her
father’s house.
01-42:3 And
Joseph’s ten brethren went down to buy corn in
Egypt.
01-42:4 But
Benjamin, Joseph’s brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren;
for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him.
01-42:6 And
Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that
sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren
came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the
earth.
01-42:7 And
Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but
made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them,
Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.
01-42:8 And
Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him.
01-42:13 And they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this
day with our father, and one is not.
01-42:19 If ye be
true men, let one of your brethren be
bound in the house of your prison: go ye, carry corn for the famine of your
houses:
01-42:28 And he
said unto his brethren, My money is restored;
and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and
they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God
hath done unto us?
01-42:32 We be twelve
brethren, sons of our father; one is not,
and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.
01-42:33 And the
man, the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true
men; leave one of your brethren here with
me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be gone:
01-44:14 And Judah
and his brethren came to Joseph’s house; for he was
yet there: and they fell before him on the ground.
01-44:33 Now
therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to
my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.
01-45:1 Then
Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he
cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him,
while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
01-45:3 And
Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph;
doth my father yet live? And his brethren could
not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
01-45:4 And
Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me,
I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother,
whom ye sold into Egypt.
01-45:15 Moreover
he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them:
and after that his brethren talked with him.
01-45:16 And the
fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh’s house, saying, Joseph’s brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his
servants.
01-45:17 And
Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren,
This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;
01-45:24 So he sent
his brethren away, and they departed: and he said
unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way.
01-46:31 And Joseph
said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s
house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in
the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
01-47:1 Then
Joseph came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all
that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in
the land of Goshen.
01-47:2 And he took some of his brethren,
even five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh.
01-47:3 And
Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your
occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both
we, and also our fathers.
01-47:5 And
Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father and thy brethren
are come unto thee:
01-47:6 The land
of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them
dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make
them rulers over my cattle.
01-47:11 And Joseph
placed his father and his brethren, and gave
them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of
Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
01-47:12 And Joseph
nourished his father, and his brethren, and all
his father’s household, with bread, according to their families.
01-48:6 And thy
issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be
called after the name of their brethren in their
inheritance.
01-48:22 Moreover I
have given to thee one portion above thy brethren,
which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.
01-49:5 Simeon
and Levi are brethren; instruments of
cruelty are in their habitations.
01-49:8 Judah, thou
art he whom thy brethren shall praise:
thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children
shall bow down before thee.
01-49:26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above
the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting
hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph,
and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
01-50:8 And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father’s house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds,
they left in the land of Goshen.
01-50:14 And Joseph
returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and
all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.
01-50:15 And when
Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was
dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite
us all the evil which we did unto him.
01-50:17 So shall
ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil:
and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy
father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
01-50:18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and
they said, Behold, we be thy servants.
01-50:24 And Joseph
said unto his brethren, I die: and God will
surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware
to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
02-1:6 And
Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that
generation.
02-2:11 And it
came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an
Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.
02-4:18 And Moses
went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I
pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are
in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go
in peace.
03-10:4 And Moses
called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said
unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from
before the sanctuary out of the camp.
03-10:6 And Moses
said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your
heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the
people: but let your brethren, the whole house
of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.
03-21:10 And he
that is the high priest among his brethren,
upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on
the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;
03-25:46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children
after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your
bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one
over another with rigour.
03-25:48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again;
one of his brethren may redeem him:
04-8:26 But shall
minister with their brethren in the tabernacle
of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt
thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
04-16:10 And he
hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren
the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
04-18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father,
bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto
thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the
tabernacle of witness.
04-18:6 And I,
behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites
from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a
gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
04-20:3 And the
people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our
brethren died before the LORD!
04-25:6 And,
behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses,
and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were
weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
04-27:4 Why
should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a
possession among the brethren of our father.
04-27:7 The
daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession
of an inheritance among their father’s brethren;
and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
04-27:9 And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his
inheritance unto his brethren.
04-27:10 And if he
have no brethren, then ye shall give his
inheritance unto his father’s brethren.
04-27:11 And if his father have no brethren,
then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and
it shall be unto the children of
Israel a statute of judgment, as the LORD commanded Moses.
04-32:6 And Moses
said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?
05-1:16 And I
charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man
and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.
05-1:28 Whither
shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged
our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are
great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the
Anakims there.
05-2:4 And
command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of
your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell
in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves
therefore:
05-2:8 And when
we passed by from our brethren the children of
Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from
Eziongaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
05-3:18 And I
commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land
to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren
the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
05-3:20 Until the LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until
they also possess the land which the
LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I
have given you.
05-10:9 Wherefore
Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren;
the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.
05-15:7 If there
be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren
within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou
shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
05-17:15 Thou shalt
in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one
from among thy brethren shalt thou set king
over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy
brother.
05-17:20 That his
heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and
that he turn not aside from the commandment,
to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may
prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of
Israel.
05-18:2 Therefore
shall they have no inheritance among their brethren:
the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.
05-18:7 Then he
shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there
before the LORD.
05-18:15 The LORD
thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
05-18:18 I will
raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren,
like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto
them all that I shall command him.
05-24:7 If a man
be found stealing any of his brethren of the children
of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall
die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.
05-24:14 Thou shalt
not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of
thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in
thy land within thy gates:
05-25:5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have
no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her
husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and
perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
05-33:9 Who said
unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he
acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own
children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.
05-33:16 And for
the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good
will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head
of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of
him that was separated from his brethren.
05-33:24 And of
Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be
acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his
foot in oil.
06-1:14 Your wives,
your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave
you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren
armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
06-1:15 Until the
LORD have given your brethren rest, as he
hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your
God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and
enjoy it, which Moses the LORD’S servant gave you on this side Jordan toward
the sunrising.
06-2:13 And that
ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our
lives from death.
06-2:18 Behold, when we come into the land, thou
shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in
the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father,
and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto
thee.
06-6:23 And the
young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and
her mother, and her brethren, and all that she
had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of
Israel.
06-14:8 Nevertheless
my brethren that went up with me made the heart
of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
06-17:4 And they
came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and
before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance
among our brethren. Therefore according to the
commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
06-22:3 Ye have
not left your brethren these many days unto this
day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.
06-22:4 And now
the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren,
as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and
unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave
you on the other side Jordan.
06-22:7 Now to
the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in
Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua
sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them,
06-22:8 And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much
riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with
gold, and with brass, and with iron, and
with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
07-8:19 And he
said, They were my brethren, even the
sons of my mother: as the LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I
would not slay you.
07-9:1 And
Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother’s brethren, and communed with them, and with all the
family of the house of his mother’s father, saying,
07-9:3 And his
mother’s brethren spake of him in the ears of
all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow
Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.
07-9:5 And he went unto his father’s house at Ophrah, and
slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being
threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the
youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself.
07-9:24 That the
cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and
their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the
men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.
07-9:26 And Gaal
the son of Ebed came with his brethren, and went
over to Shechem: and the men of Shechem put their confidence in him.
07-9:31 And he
sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed
and his brethren be come to Shechem; and,
behold, they fortify the city against thee.
07-9:41 And
Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem.
07-9:56 Thus God
rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in slaying
his seventy brethren:
07-11:3 Then
Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in
the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out
with him.
07-14:3 Then his
father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the
daughters of thy brethren, or among all my
people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And
Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
07-16:31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and
took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol
in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.
07-18:8 And they
came unto their brethren to Zorah and Eshtaol:
and their brethren said unto them, What say ye?
07-18:14 Then
answered the five men that went to spy out the country of Laish, and said unto
their brethren, Do ye know that there is in
these houses an ephod, and teraphim, and a graven image, and a molten image?
now therefore consider what ye have to do.
07-19:23 And the
man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly;
seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.
07-20:13 Now
therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in
Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the
children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
07-21:22 And it
shall be, when their fathers or their brethren
come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them
for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye
did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty.
08-4:10 Moreover
Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to
raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead
be not cut off from among his brethren, and from
the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.
09-16:13 Then
Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the spirit of the LORD came upon David
from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
09-17:17 And Jesse
said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren
an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp
to thy brethren;
09-17:18 And carry
these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.
09-17:22 And David
left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the
army, and came and saluted his brethren.
09-20:29 And he said,
Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my
brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found
favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the king’s
table.
09-22:1 David
therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father’s house heard it, they
went down thither to him.
09-30:23 Then said
David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with
that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the
company that came against us into our hand.
10-2:26 Then
Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou
not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then,
ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren?
10-3:8 Then was
Abner very wroth for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s
head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy
father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and
have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day
with a fault concerning this woman?
10-15:20 Whereas
thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down
with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee.
10-19:12 Ye are my
brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore
then are ye the last to bring back the king?
10-19:41 And,
behold, all the men of Israel came to the king, and said unto the king, Why
have our brethren the men of Judah stolen thee
away, and have brought the king, and his household, and all David’s men with
him, over Jordan?
11-1:9 And
Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is
by Enrogel, and called all his brethren the
king’s sons, and all the men of Judah the king’s servants:
11-12:24 Thus saith
the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren
the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from
me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart,
according to the word of the LORD.
12-9:2 And when
thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of
Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;
12-10:13 Jehu met
with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and
said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the
children of the king and the children of the queen.
12-23:9 Nevertheless the priests of the high places came
not up to the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they did eat of the
unleavened bread among their brethren.
13-4:9 And
Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and
his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
13-4:27 And
Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren
had not many children, neither did all their
family multiply, like to the children of Judah.
13-5:2 For
Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came
the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s:)
13-5:7 And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of
their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
13-5:13 And their
brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael,
and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
13-6:44 And their
brethren the sons of Merari stood on the
left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,
13-6:48 Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto
all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
13-7:5 And
their brethren among all the families of
Issachar were valiant men of might, reckoned in all by their genealogies
fourscore and seven thousand.
13-7:22 And
Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren
came to comfort him.
13-8:32 And
Mikloth begat Shimeah. And these also dwelt with their brethren
in Jerusalem, over against them.
13-9:6 And of
the sons of Zerah; Jeuel, and their brethren,
six hundred and ninety.
13-9:9 And
their brethren, according to their generations,
nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were chief of the fathers
in the house of their fathers.
13-9:13 And their
brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a
thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the
service of the house of God.
13-9:17 And the
porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;
13-9:19 And
Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were
over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and
their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of
the entry.
13-9:25 And their
brethren, which were in their villages, were
to come after seven days from time to time with them.
13-9:32 And other
of their brethren, of the sons of the
Kohathites, were over the shewbread, to prepare it every sabbath.
13-9:38 And
Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren
at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.
13-12:2 They
were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling
stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul’s brethren of Benjamin.
13-12:32 And of the
children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the
times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two
hundred; and all their brethren were at
their commandment.
13-12:39 And there
they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.
13-13:2 And David said unto all the congregation of
Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our
God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every
where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also
to the priests and Levites which
are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves
unto us:
13-15:5 Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:
13-15:6 Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:
13-15:7 Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:
13-15:8 Of the
sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren
two hundred:
13-15:9 Of the
sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren
fourscore:
13-15:10 Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and
his brethren an hundred and twelve.
13-15:12 And said
unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify
yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that
ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I
have prepared for it.
13-15:16 And David
spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren
to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and
cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
13-15:17 So the
Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren,
Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
13-15:18 And with them their brethren
of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and
Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and
Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, the porters.
13-16:7 Then on
that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the
hand of Asaph and his brethren.
13-16:37 So he left
there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to
minister before the ark continually,
as every day’s work required:
13-16:38 And Obededom
with their brethren, threescore and eight;
Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:
13-16:39 And Zadok
the priest, and his brethren the priests, before
the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,
13-23:22 And
Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
13-23:32 And that
they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the
charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
13-24:31 These
likewise cast lots over against their brethren
the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech,
and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal
fathers over against their younger brethren.
13-25:7 So the
number of them, with their brethren that were
instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two
hundred fourscore and eight.
13-25:9 Now the
first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve:
13-25:10 The third
to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:11 The fourth
to Izri, he, his sons, and his brethren, were
twelve:
13-25:12 The fifth
to Nethaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:13 The sixth
to Bukkiah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:14 The
seventh to Jesharelah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:15 The eighth
to Jeshaiah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:16 The ninth
to Mattaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:17 The tenth
to Shimei, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:18 The
eleventh to Azareel, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:19 The
twelfth to Hashabiah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:20 The
thirteenth to Shubael, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:21 The
fourteenth to Mattithiah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:22 The
fifteenth to Jeremoth, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:23 The
sixteenth to Hananiah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:24 The
seventeenth to Joshbekashah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
13-25:25 The
eighteenth to Hanani, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:26 The
nineteenth to Mallothi, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:27 The
twentieth to Eliathah, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:28 The one
and twentieth to Hothir, he, his sons, and his brethren,
were twelve:
13-25:29 The two and twentieth to Giddalti, he, his
sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
13-25:30 The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, he, his
sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
13-25:31 The four and twentieth to Romamtiezer, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve.
13-26:7 The sons
of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren were strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah.
13-26:8 All these
of the sons of Obededom: they and their sons and their brethren,
able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of
Obededom.
13-26:9 And
Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, strong men,
eighteen.
13-26:11 Hilkiah
the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brethren of Hosah were thirteen.
13-26:25 And his brethren by Eliezer; Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah
his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.
13-26:26 Which
Shelomith and his brethren were over all
the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the chief
fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the
host, had dedicated.
13-26:28 And all that
Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab
the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated any
thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.
13-26:30 And of
the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men
of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of
Israel on this side Jordan westward in all the business of the LORD, and in the
service of the king.
13-26:32 And his brethren,
men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers,
whom king David made rulers over the
Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, for every
matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the king.
13-27:18 Of Judah,
Elihu, one of the brethren of David: of Issachar,
Omri the son of Michael:
13-28:2 Then
David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in
mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD,
and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
14-5:12 Also the
Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of
Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being
arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at
the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding
with trumpets:)
14-11:4 Thus
saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this
thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from
going against Jeroboam.
14-11:22 And
Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his
brethren: for he thought to make him king.
14-19:10 And what
cause soever shall come to you of your brethren
that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and
commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass
not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
14-21:2 And he
had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah,
and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were
the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
14-21:4 Now when
Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and
slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers
also of the princes of Israel.
14-21:13 But hast
walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the
inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of
Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy
father’s house, which were better than thyself:
14-22:8 And it
came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab,
and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren
of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them.
14-28:8 And the
children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren
two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil
from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
14-28:11 Now hear
me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of
your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the LORD is
upon you.
14-28:15 And the
men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the
spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them,
and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the
feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees,
to their brethren: then they returned to
Samaria.
14-29:15 And they
gathered their brethren, and sanctified
themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of
the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.
14-29:34 But the
priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings:
wherefore their brethren the Levites did help
them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had
sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to
sanctify themselves than the priests.
14-30:7 And be
not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren,
which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore
gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
14-30:9 For if ye
turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your
children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so
that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious
and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return
unto him.
14-31:15 And next
him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and
Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their set office, to give to
their brethren by courses, as well to the great
as to the small:
14-35:5 And stand
in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the
fathers of your brethren the people, and after
the division of the families of the Levites.
14-35:6 So kill
the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD
by the hand of Moses.
14-35:9 Conaniah
also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren,
and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the
Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five
hundred oxen.
14-35:15 And the
singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the
commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and
the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their
service; for their brethren the Levites prepared
for them.
15-3:2 Then stood
up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren
the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel,
to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses
the man of God.
15-3:8 Now in
the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the
second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of
Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the
priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto
Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set
forward the work of the house of the LORD.
15-3:9 Then
stood Jeshua with his sons and his brethren,
Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to set forward the workmen
in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brethren the Levites.
15-6:20 For the
priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and
killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.
15-7:18 And
whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren,
to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your
God.
15-8:17 And I
sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I
told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they
should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
15-8:18 And by
the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the
sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons
and his brethren, eighteen;
15-8:19 And
Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;
15-8:24 Then I
separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of
their brethren with them,
15-10:18 And among
the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely,
of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren;
Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
16-1:2 That Hanani,
one of my brethren, came, he and certain men
of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were
left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
16-3:1 Then
Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren
the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up
the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower
of Hananeel.
16-3:18 After him
repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad,
the ruler of the half part of Keilah.
16-4:2 And he
spake before his brethren and the army of
Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves?
will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones
out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?
16-4:14 And I
looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the
rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great
and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your
sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
16-4:23 So
neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor
the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving
that every one put them off for washing.
16-5:1 And
there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.
16-5:5 Yet now
our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren,
our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our
daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto
bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for
other men have our lands and vineyards.
16-5:8 And I
said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren
the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held
they their peace, and found nothing to answer.
16-5:10 I
likewise, and my brethren, and my
servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this
usury.
16-5:14 Moreover
from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah,
from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the
king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren
have not eaten the bread of the governor.
16-10:10 And their brethren, Shebaniah, Hodijah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan,
16-10:29 They clave
to their brethren, their nobles, and entered
into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the
servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our
Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;
16-11:12 And their brethren that did the work of the house were eight
hundred twenty and two: and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the
son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchiah,
16-11:13 And his brethren, chief of the fathers, two hundred forty and
two: and Amashai the son of Azareel, the son of Ahasai, the son of
Meshillemoth, the son of Immer,
16-11:14 And their brethren, mighty men of valour, an hundred twenty and
eight: and their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of one of the
great men.
16-11:17 And
Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, was the
principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer: and Bakbukiah the second among
his brethren, and Abda the son of Shammua, the
son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
16-11:19 Moreover
the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren
that kept the gates, were an hundred seventy and two.
16-12:7 Sallu,
Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their
brethren in the days of Jeshua.
16-12:8 Moreover
the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, which
was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.
16-12:9 Also
Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were over
against them in the watches.
16-12:24 And the
chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with
their brethren over against them, to praise and
to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward
over against ward.
16-12:36 And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai,
Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the
man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.
16-13:13 And I made
treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and
of the Levites, Pedaiah: and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur,
the son of Mattaniah: for they were counted faithful, and their office was to
distribute unto their brethren.
17-10:3 For
Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews,
and accepted of the multitude of his brethren,
seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
18-6:15 My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as
the stream of brooks they pass away;
18-19:13 He hath
put my brethren far from me, and mine
acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
18-42:11 Then came
there unto him all his brethren, and all his
sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat
bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all
the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of
money, and every one an earring of gold.
18-42:15 And in all
the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their
father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
19-22:22 I will
declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst
of the congregation will I praise thee.
19-69:8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children.
19-122:8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be
within thee.
19-133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for
brethren to dwell together in unity!
20-6:19 A false
witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
20-17:2 A wise
servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of
the inheritance among the brethren.
20-19:7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his
friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are
wanting to him.
23-66:5 Hear the word
of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren
that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be
glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
23-66:20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of
all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon
mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as
the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of
the LORD.
24-7:15 And I
will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
24-12:6 For even
thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they
have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after
thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
24-29:16 Know that
thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of
all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into
captivity;
24-35:3 Then I
took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the
Rechabites;
24-41:8 But ten
men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not: for we have
treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So
he forbare, and slew them not among their brethren.
24-49:10 But I have
made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to
hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren,
and his neighbours, and he is not.
26-11:15 Son of
man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of
Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is
this land given in possession.
28-2:1 Say ye
unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters,
Ruhamah.
28-13:15 Though he
be fruitful among his brethren, an east
wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and
his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil
the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
33-5:3 Therefore
will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath
brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren
shall return unto the children of Israel.
40-1:2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and
Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
40-1:11 And
Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the
time they were carried away to Babylon:
40-4:18 And
Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren,
Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for
they were fishers.
40-4:21 And going
on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James
the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their
father, mending their nets; and he called them.
40-5:47 And if ye
salute your brethren only, what do ye more than
others? do not even the publicans so?
40-12:46 While he
yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
40-12:47 Then one
said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren
stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
40-12:48 But he answered
and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
40-12:49 And he
stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and
my brethren!
40-13:55 Is not
this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
40-19:29 And every
one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or
sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake,
shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
40-20:24 And when
the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
40-22:25 Now there
were with us seven brethren: and the first, when
he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his
brother:
40-23:8 But be
not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are
brethren.
40-25:40 And the
King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have
done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.
40-28:10 Then said
Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren
that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
41-3:31 There
came then his brethren and his mother, and,
standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
41-3:32 And the
multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
41-3:33 And he answered
them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
41-3:34 And he
looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and
my brethren!
41-10:29 And Jesus
answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house,
or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother,
or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
41-10:30 But he
shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands,
with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
41-12:20 Now there were seven brethren:
and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
42-8:19 Then came
to him his mother and his brethren, and
could not come at him for the press.
42-8:20 And it
was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
42-8:21 And he
answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren
are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
42-14:12 Then said
he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not
thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy
kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a
recompence be made thee.
42-14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his
father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his
own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
42-16:28 For I have
five brethren; that he may testify unto them,
lest they also come into this place of torment.
42-18:29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of
God’s sake,
42-20:29 There were
therefore seven brethren: and the first took a
wife, and died without children.
42-21:16 And ye
shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren,
and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put
to death.
42-22:32 But I have
prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted,
strengthen thy brethren.
43-2:12 After
this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there
not many days.
43-7:3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go
into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
43-7:5 For
neither did his brethren believe in him.
43-7:10 But when
his brethren were gone up, then went he also up
unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
43-20:17 Jesus
saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to
my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my
Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
43-21:23 Then went
this saying abroad among the brethren, that that
disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If
I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
44-1:14 These all
continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary
the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
44-1:16 Men and
brethren, this scripture must needs have
been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before
concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
44-2:29 Men and
brethren, let me freely speak unto you of
the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with
us unto this day.
44-2:37 Now when
they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter
and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren,
what shall we do?
44-3:17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as
did also your rulers.
44-3:22 For Moses
truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto
you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye
hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
44-6:3 Wherefore,
brethren, look ye out among you seven men of
honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this
business.
44-7:2 And he
said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The
God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia,
before he dwelt in Charran,
44-7:13 And at
the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren;
and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.
44-7:23 And when
he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
44-7:25 For he
supposed his brethren would have understood how
that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
44-7:26 And the
next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at
one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do
ye wrong one to another?
44-7:37 This is
that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord
your God raise up unto you of your brethren,
like unto me; him shall ye hear.
44-9:30 Which when
the brethren knew, they brought him down to
Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
44-10:23 Then
called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away
with them, and certain brethren from Joppa
accompanied him.
44-11:1 And the
apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard
that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
44-11:12 And the
Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s
house:
44-11:29 Then the
disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto
the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
44-12:17 But he,
beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how
the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things
unto James, and to the brethren. And he
departed, and went into another place.
44-13:15 And after
the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto
them, saying, Ye men and brethren,
if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
44-13:26 Men and
brethren, children of the stock of Abraham,
and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
44-13:38 Be it
known unto you therefore, men and brethren,
that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
44-14:2 But the
unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected
against the brethren.
44-15:1 And
certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren,
and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot
be saved.
44-15:3 And being
brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria,
declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all
the brethren.
44-15:7 And when
there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made
choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the
gospel, and believe.
44-15:13 And after
they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
44-15:22 Then
pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men
of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas
surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
44-15:23 And they
wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and
Syria and Cilicia:
44-15:32 And Judas
and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
44-15:33 And after
they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
44-15:36 And some
days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word
of the Lord, and see how they do.
44-15:40 And Paul
chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren
unto the grace of God.
44-16:2 Which was
well reported of by the brethren that were at
Lystra and Iconium.
44-16:40 And they
went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when
they had seen the brethren, they comforted them,
and departed.
44-17:6 And when
they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren
unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside
down are come hither also;
44-17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night
unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
44-17:14 And then
immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as
it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.
44-18:18 And Paul after
this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him
Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a
vow.
44-18:27 And when
he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren
wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped
them much which had believed through grace:
44-20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his
grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all
them which are sanctified.
44-21:7 And when
we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted
the brethren, and abode with them one day.
44-21:17 And when
we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received
us gladly.
44-22:1 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I
make now unto you.
44-22:5 As also
the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from
whom also I received letters unto the brethren,
and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for
to be punished.
44-23:1 And Paul,
earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren,
I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
44-23:5 Then said
Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high
priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy
people.
44-23:6 But when
Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he
cried out in the council, Men and brethren,
I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the
dead I am called in question.
44-28:14 Where we
found brethren, and were desired to tarry with
them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.
44-28:15 And from
thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came
to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he
thanked God, and took courage.
44-28:17 And it
came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together:
and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the
people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem
into the hands of the Romans.
44-28:21 And they
said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee,
neither any of the brethren that came shewed or
spake any harm of thee.
45-1:13 Now I
would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes
I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some
fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
45-7:1 Know ye
not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know
the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
45-7:4 Wherefore,
my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law
by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him
who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
45-8:12 Therefore,
brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to
live after the flesh.
45-8:29 For whom
he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image
of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
45-9:3 For I
could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
45-10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for
Israel is, that they might be saved.
45-11:25 For I
would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant
of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in
part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
45-12:1 I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which
is your reasonable service.
45-15:14 And I
myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren,
that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to
admonish one another.
45-15:15 Nevertheless,
brethren, I have written the more boldly unto
you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to
me of God,
45-15:30 Now I
beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus
Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in
your prayers to God for me;
45-16:14 Salute
Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren
which are with them.
45-16:17 Now I
beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions
and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
46-1:10 Now I
beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no
divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the
same mind and in the same judgment.
46-1:11 For it
hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren,
by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions
among you.
46-1:26 For ye
see your calling, brethren, how that not many
wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
46-2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency
of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
46-3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual,
but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
46-4:6 And
these things, brethren, I have in a figure
transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn
in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of
you be puffed up for one against another.
46-6:5 I speak
to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one
that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
46-6:8 Nay, ye
do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
46-7:24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein
abide with God.
46-7:29 But this
I say, brethren, the time is short: it
remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
46-8:12 But when
ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their
weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
46-9:5 Have we not
power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the
brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
46-10:1 Moreover,
brethren, I would not that ye should be
ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through
the sea;
46-11:2 Now I
praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all
things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
46-11:33 Wherefore,
my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry
one for another.
46-12:1 Now
concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I
would not have you ignorant.
46-14:6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues,
what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or
by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
46-14:20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in
malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
46-14:26 How is it
then, brethren? when ye come together, every one
of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an
interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
46-14:39 Wherefore,
brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to
speak with tongues.
46-15:1 Moreover,
brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I
preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
46-15:6 After
that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren
at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen
asleep.
46-15:50 Now this I
say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
46-15:58 Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour
is not in vain in the Lord.
46-16:11 Let no man
therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto
me: for I look for him with the brethren.
46-16:12 As
touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you
with the brethren: but his will was not at all
to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.
46-16:15 I beseech
you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas,
that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted
themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
46-16:20 All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy
kiss.
47-1:8 For we
would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our
trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above
strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
47-8:1 Moreover,
brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God
bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
47-8:23 Whether any
do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning
you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are
the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.
47-9:3 Yet have
I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should
be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
47-9:5 Therefore
I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren,
that they would go before unto you, and make up before hand your bounty,
whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty,
and not as of covetousness.
47-11:9 And when
I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which
was lacking to me the brethren which came from
Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being
burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
47-11:26 In journeyings
often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils
by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils
in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in
perils among false brethren;
47-13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be
of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
48-1:2 And all
the brethren which are with me, unto the
churches of Galatia:
48-1:11 But I
certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was
preached of me is not after man.
48-2:4 And that
because of false brethren unawares brought in, who
came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they
might bring us into bondage:
48-3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it
be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man
disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
48-4:12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am
as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
48-4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
48-4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of
the free.
48-5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet
suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
48-5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use
not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
48-6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which
are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering
thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
48-6:18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with
your spirit. Amen.
49-6:10 Finally,
my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the
power of his might.
49-6:23 Peace be
to the brethren, and love with faith, from God
the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
50-1:12 But I
would ye should understand, brethren, that the
things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the
furtherance of the gospel;
50-1:14 And many
of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by
my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
50-3:1 Finally,
my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the
same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
50-3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this
one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things which are before,
50-3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which
walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
50-4:1 Therefore,
my brethren, dearly beloved and longed for, my
joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
50-4:8 Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever
things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are
pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of
good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things.
50-4:21 Salute
every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which
are with me greet you.
51-1:2 To the
saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are
at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
51-4:15 Salute
the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas,
and the church which is in his house.
52-1:4 Knowing,
brethren beloved, your election of God.
52-2:1 For yourselves, brethren,
know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
52-2:9 For ye
remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for
labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we
preached unto you the gospel of God.
52-2:14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God
which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of
your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
52-2:17 But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in
presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with
great desire.
52-3:7 Therefore,
brethren, we were comforted over you in all our
affliction and distress by your faith:
52-4:1 Furthermore
then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you
by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and
to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
52-4:10 And
indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which
are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren,
that ye increase more and more;
52-4:13 But I
would not have you to be ignorant, brethren,
concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have
no hope.
52-5:1 But of
the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no
need that I write unto you.
52-5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should
overtake you as a thief.
52-5:12 And we
beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour
among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
52-5:14 Now we
exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly,
comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
52-5:25 Brethren, pray for us.
52-5:26 Greet all
the brethren with an holy kiss.
52-5:27 I charge
you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
53-1:3 We are
bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as
it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of
every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
53-2:1 Now we
beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
53-2:13 But we
are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren
beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to
salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
53-2:15 Therefore,
brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions
which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
53-3:1 Finally,
brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord
may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
53-3:6 Now we
command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly,
and not after the tradition which he received of us.
53-3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
54-4:6 If thou
put the brethren in remembrance of these things,
thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of
faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
54-5:1 Rebuke
not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as
brethren;
54-6:2 And they
that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are
brethren; but rather do them service,
because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things
teach and exhort.
55-4:21 Do thy diligence
to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and
Claudia, and all the brethren.
58-2:11 For both
he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which
cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
58-2:12 Saying, I
will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the
midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
58-2:17 Wherefore
in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful
high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the
sins of the people.
58-3:1 Wherefore,
holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly
calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
58-3:12 Take
heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an
evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
58-7:5 And
verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood,
have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is,
of their brethren, though they come out of the
loins of Abraham:
58-10:19 Having
therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the
holiest by the blood of Jesus,
58-13:22 And I
beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of
exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
59-1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers
temptations;
59-1:16 Do not
err, my beloved brethren.
59-1:19 Wherefore,
my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to
hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
59-2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
59-2:5 Hearken,
my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the
poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath
promised to them that love him?
59-2:14 What doth
it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath
faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
59-3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall
receive the greater condemnation.
59-3:10 Out of
the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren,
these things ought not so to be.
59-3:12 Can the
fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries?
either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
59-4:11 Speak not
evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh
evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law,
and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law,
but a judge.
59-5:7 Be
patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of
the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and
hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
59-5:9 Grudge
not one against another, brethren, lest ye be
condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
59-5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of
the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
59-5:12 But above
all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by
heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be
yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
59-5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one
convert him;
60-1:22 Seeing ye
have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned
love of the brethren, see that ye love
one another with a pure heart fervently:
60-3:8 Finally,
be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
60-5:9 Whom
resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are
accomplished in your brethren that are in the
world.
61-1:10 Wherefore
the rather, brethren, give diligence to make
your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
62-2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an
old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the
word which ye have heard from the beginning.
62-3:13 Marvel
not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
62-3:14 We know
that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother
abideth in death.
62-3:16 Hereby
perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we
ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
64-1:3 For I
rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and
testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
64-1:5 Beloved,
thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren,
and to strangers;
64-1:10 Wherefore,
if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with
malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the
brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and
casteth them out of the church.
66-6:11 And white
robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they
should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should
be fulfilled.
66-12:10 And I
heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and
the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our
God day and night.
66-19:10 And I fell
at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I
am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that
have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the
spirit of prophecy.
66-22:9 Then
saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of
thy brethren the prophets, and of them which
keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
