01-3:22 And the LORD
God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and
now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat,
and live for ever:
01-12:13 Say, I
pray thee, thou art my sister: that
it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live
because of thee.
01-17:18 And
Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live
before thee!
01-19:20 Behold
now, this city is near to flee unto,
and it is a little one: Oh, let me
escape thither, (is it not a little
one?) and my soul shall live.
01-20:7 Now
therefore restore the man his wife;
for he is a prophet, and he shall
pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou
restore her not, know thou that thou
shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
01-27:40 And by thy
sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy
brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou
shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
01-31:32 With
whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live:
before our brethren discern thou what is thine
with me, and take it to thee. For
Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
01-42:2 And he
said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in
01-42:18 And Joseph
said unto them the third day, This do, and live;
for I fear God:
01-43:8 And Judah
said unto
01-45:3 And
Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph;
doth my father yet live? And his brethren could
not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
01-47:19 Wherefore
shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for
bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
02-1:16 And
he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if
it be a daughter, then she shall live.
02-19:13 There
shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through;
whether it be beast or man, it shall
not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they
shall come up to the mount.
02-21:35 And
if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
02-22:18 Thou
shalt not suffer a witch to live.
02-33:20 And
he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
03-16:20 And when
he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place,
and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:
03-16:21 And Aaron
shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live
goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and
all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the
goat, and shall send him away by the
hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
03-18:5 Ye shall
therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am
the LORD.
03-25:35 And if thy
brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve
him: yea, though he be a stranger, or
a sojourner; that he may live with thee.
03-25:36 Take thou
no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.
04-4:19 But thus
do unto them, that they may live, and not die,
when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in,
and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:
04-14:21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be
filled with the glory of the LORD.
04-14:28 Say unto
them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears,
so will I do to you:
04-21:8 And the
LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it
shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it,
shall live.
04-24:23 And he
took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live
when God doeth this!
05-4:1 Now
therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I
teach you, for to do them, that ye
may live, and go in and possess the land which
the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
05-4:10 Specially the day that thou stoodest
before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the
people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to
fear me all the days that they shall live upon
the earth, and that they may teach
their children.
05-4:33 Did ever people hear the voice of God
speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
05-4:42 That the
slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and hated
him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:
05-5:33 Ye shall
walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that
it may be well with you, and that ye
may prolong your days in the land
which ye shall possess.
05-8:1 All the
commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land
which the LORD sware unto your fathers.
05-8:3 And he
humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou
knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that
man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of
the LORD doth man live.
05-12:1 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye
shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee
to possess it, all the days that ye live upon
the earth.
05-16:20 That which
is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live,
and inherit the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
05-19:4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall
flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth
his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;
05-19:5 As when a
man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a
stroke with the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve,
and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those
cities, and live:
05-30:6 And the
LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love
the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
05-30:16 In that I
command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to
keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless
thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
05-30:19 I call
heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
05-31:13 And that their children, which have not
known any thing, may hear, and learn
to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in
the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
05-32:40 For I lift
up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
05-33:6 Let
Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.
06-6:17 And the
city shall be accursed, even it, and
all that are therein, to the LORD:
only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all
that are with her in the house, because
she hid the messengers that we sent.
06-9:15 And
Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto
them.
06-9:20 This we
will do to them; we will even let them live,
lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.
06-9:21 And the
princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them
be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the
princes had promised them.
09-20:14 And thou
shalt not only while yet I live shew me the
kindness of the LORD, that I die not:
10-1:10 So I
stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown
that was upon his head, and the
bracelet that was on his arm, and
have brought them hither unto my lord.
10-12:22 And he said,
While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that
the child may live?
10-19:34 And
Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live,
that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem?
11-1:31 Then
Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth,
and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.
11-8:40 That they
may fear thee all the days that they live in the
land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
11-20:32 So they
girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes
on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Benhadad
saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
12-4:7 Then she
came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt,
and live thou and thy children of the rest.
12-7:4 If we
say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here,
we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians:
if they save us alive, we shall live; and if
they kill us, we shall but die.
12-10:19 Now
therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his
priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it
in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
12-18:32 Until I
come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a
land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when
he persuadeth you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.
12-20:1 In those
days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came
to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for
thou shalt die, and not live.
14-6:31 That
they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
16-2:3 And said
unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why
should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’
sepulchres, lieth waste, and the
gates thereof are consumed with fire?
16-5:2 For
there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.
16-9:29 And testifiedst
against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt
proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy
judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in
them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
17-4:11 All the
king’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that
whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court,
who is not called, there is one law
of his to put him to death, except
such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the
king these thirty days.
18-7:16 I loathe it; I would not live
alway: let me alone; for my days are vanity.
18-14:14 If a man
die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my
change come.
18-21:7 Wherefore
do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty
in power?
18-27:6 My
righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
19-22:26 The meek
shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your
heart shall live for ever.
19-49:9 That he
should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
19-55:23 But thou, O
God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful
men shall not live out half their days; but I
will trust in thee.
19-63:4 Thus will
I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my
hands in thy name.
19-69:32 The humble
shall see this, and be glad: and your
heart shall live that seek God.
19-72:15 And he
shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold
of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
19-104:33 I will sing
unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing
praise to my God while I have my being.
19-116:2 Because he
hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
19-118:17 I shall not
die, but live, and declare the works of the
LORD.
19-119:17 GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy
servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
19-119:77 Let thy
tender mercies come unto me, that I may live:
for thy law is my delight.
19-119:116 Uphold me
according unto thy word, that I may live: and
let me not be ashamed of my hope.
19-119:144 The
righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting:
give me understanding, and I shall live.
19-119:175 Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments
help me.
19-146:2 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto
my God while I have any being.
20-4:4 He
taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my
commandments, and live.
20-7:2 Keep my
commandments, and live; and my law as the apple
of thine eye.
20-9:6 Forsake
the foolish, and live; and go in the way of
understanding.
20-15:27 He that is
greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
21-6:3 If
a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be
many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that
an untimely birth is better than
he.
21-6:6 Yea,
though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not
all go to one place?
21-9:3 This
is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that
there is one event unto all: yea,
also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
21-9:9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the
days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the
days of thy vanity: for that is thy
portion in this life, and in thy
labour which thou takest under the sun.
21-11:8 But
if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness;
for they shall be many. All that cometh is
vanity.
23-6:6 Then flew
one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal
in his hand, which he had taken with
the tongs from off the altar:
23-26:14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased,
they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made
all their memory to perish.
23-26:19 Thy dead men shall live,
together with my dead body shall they
arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
23-38:1 In those
days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came
unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for
thou shalt die, and not live.
23-38:16 O Lord, by
these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make
me to live.
23-49:18 Lift up
thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou
shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
23-55:3 Incline
your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
24-21:9 He that
abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege
you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto
him for a prey.
24-22:24 As I live,
saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet
upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;
24-27:12 I spake
also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your
necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
24-27:17 Hearken
not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live:
wherefore should this city be laid waste?
24-35:7 Neither
shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in
tents; that ye may live many days in the land
where ye be strangers.
24-38:2 Thus
saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the
famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall
live.
24-38:17 Then said Jeremiah
unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If
thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon’s princes, then thy soul
shall live, and this city shall not be burned
with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:
24-38:20 But
Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee.
Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it
shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.
24-46:18 As I live,
saith the King, whose name is the
LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among
the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so
shall he come.
25-4:20 The
breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of
whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live
among the heathen.
26-3:21 Nevertheless
if thou warn the righteous man, that
the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered
thy soul.
26-5:11 Wherefore,
as I live,
saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy
detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also
diminish thee; neither shall mine eye
spare, neither will I have any pity.
26-13:19 And will
ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread,
to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should
not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
26-14:16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they
shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the
land shall be desolate.
26-14:18 Though
these three men were in it, as I live,
saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they
only shall be delivered themselves.
26-14:20 Though
Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live,
saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their
righteousness.
26-16:6 And when
I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
26-16:48 As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as
thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
26-17:16 As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where
the king dwelleth that made him
king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
26-17:19 Therefore
thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my
covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.
26-18:3 As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion
any more to use this proverb in Israel.
26-18:9 Hath
walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
26-18:13 Hath given
forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live:
he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be
upon him.
26-18:17 That hath taken off his hand from the
poor, that hath not received usury
nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall
not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
26-18:19 Yet say
ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath
done that which is lawful and right, and hath
kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
26-18:21 But if the
wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my
statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
26-18:22 All his
transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in
his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
26-18:23 Have I any
pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his
ways, and live?
26-18:24 But when
the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the
abominations that the wicked man doeth,
shall he live? All his righteousness that he
hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and
in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
26-18:28 Because he
considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath
committed, he shall surely live, he shall not
die.
26-18:32 For I have
no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live
ye.
26-20:3 Son of
man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I
live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired
of by you.
26-20:11 And I gave
them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in
them.
26-20:13 But the
house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my
statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in
them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my
fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
26-20:21 Notwithstanding
the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept
my judgments to do them, which if a
man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted
my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my
anger against them in the wilderness.
26-20:25 Wherefore
I gave them also statutes that were not
good, and judgments whereby they should not live;
26-20:31 For when
ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye
pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be
enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As
I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be
enquired of by you.
26-20:33 As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm,
and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:
26-33:10 Therefore,
O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If
our transgressions and our sins be upon
us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
26-33:11 Say unto
them, As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the
wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn
ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
26-33:12 Therefore,
thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the
righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the
wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth
from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness
in the day that he sinneth.
26-33:13 When I
shall say to the righteous, that he
shall surely live; if he trust to his own
righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be
remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
26-33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give
again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing
iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not
die.
26-33:16 None of
his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that
which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
26-33:19 But if the
wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he
shall live thereby.
26-33:27 Say thou
thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As
I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the
sword, and him that is in the open
field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall
die of the pestilence.
26-34:8 As I live,
saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became
meat to every beast of the field, because there
was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the
shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;
26-35:6 Therefore,
as I live,
saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue
thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.
26-35:11 Therefore,
as I live,
saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to
thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make
myself known among them, when I have judged thee.
26-37:3 And he
said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live?
And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
26-37:5 Thus
saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into
you, and ye shall live:
26-37:6 And I
will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with
skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live;
and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
26-37:9 Then said
he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon
these slain, that they may live.
26-37:14 And shall
put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I
shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have
spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
26-47:9 And it
shall come to pass, that every thing that
liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of
fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and
every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
27-2:4 Then
spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live
for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
27-3:9 They
spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live
for ever.
27-5:10 Now the queen by reason of the words of
the king and his lords came into the banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live
for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be
changed:
27-6:6 Then
these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto
him, King Darius, live for ever.
27-6:21 Then said
Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
28-6:2 After
two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
30-5:4 For thus
saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
30-5:6 Seek the
LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like
fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it,
and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
30-5:14 Seek good,
and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD,
the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
32-4:3 Therefore
now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
32-4:8 And it
came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind;
and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself
to die, and said, It is better for me
to die than to live.
35-2:4 Behold,
his soul which is lifted up is not
upright in him: but the just shall live by his
faith.
36-2:9 Therefore
as I live,
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and
the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the
breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of
my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
38-1:5 Your
fathers, where are they? and the
prophets, do they live for ever?
38-10:9 And I
will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries;
and they shall live with their children, and
turn again.
38-13:3 And it
shall come to pass, that when any
shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say
unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest
lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him
shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
40-4:4 But he
answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live
by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
40-9:18 While he
spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and
worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand
upon her, and she shall live.
41-5:23 And
besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on
her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
42-4:4 And
Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
42-7:25 But what
went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are
gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are
in kings’ courts.
42-10:28 And he
said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
42-20:38 For he is
not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live
unto him.
43-5:25 Verily, verily,
I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the
voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
43-6:51 I am the
living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he
shall live for ever: and the bread that I will
give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
43-6:57 As the
living Father hath sent me, and I live by the
Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live
by me.
43-6:58 This is
that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and
are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live
for ever.
43-11:25 Jesus said
unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though
he were dead, yet shall he live:
43-14:19 Yet a
little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live
also.
44-7:19 The same
dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they
cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
44-17:28 For in him
we live, and move, and have our being; as
certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
44-22:22 And they
gave him audience unto this word, and then
lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
44-25:24 And Festus
said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this
man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at
Jerusalem, and also here, crying that
he ought not to live any longer.
44-28:4 And when
the barbarians saw the venomous beast
hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer,
whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
45-1:17 For
therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is
written, The just shall live by faith.
45-6:2 God
forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live
any longer therein?
45-6:8 Now if
we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live
with him:
45-8:12 Therefore,
brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live
after the flesh.
45-8:13 For if ye
live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye
through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
45-10:5 For Moses
describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth
those things shall live by them.
45-12:18 If it be
possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably
with all men.
45-14:8 For
whether we live, we live
unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
45-14:11 For it is
written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue
shall confess to God.
46-9:13 Do
ye not know that they which minister about holy things live
of the things of the temple? and they
which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
46-9:14 Even
so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
47-4:11 For
we which live are alway delivered unto death for
Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal
flesh.
47-5:15 And
that he died for all, that they which
live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for
them, and rose again.
47-6:9 As
unknown, and yet well known; as
dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and
not killed;
47-7:3 I
speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are
in our hearts to die and live with you.
47-13:4 For
though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God.
For we also are weak in him, but we shall live
with him by the power of God toward you.
47-13:11 Finally,
brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be
with you.
48-2:14 But when
I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I
said unto Peter before them all, If
thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews,
why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do
the Jews?
48-2:19 For I
through the law am dead to the law, that I might live
unto God.
48-2:20 I am
crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet
not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live
by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
48-3:11 But that
no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live
by faith.
48-3:12 And the
law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
48-5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
49-6:3 That it
may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long
on the earth.
50-1:21 For to me
to live is
Christ, and to die is gain.
50-1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
52-3:8 For
now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
52-5:10 Who
died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live
together with him.
55-2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be
dead with him, we shall also live with him:
55-3:12 Yea, and
all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall
suffer persecution.
56-2:12 Teaching
us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present
world;
58-10:38 Now the
just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no
pleasure in him.
58-12:9 Furthermore
we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence:
shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
58-13:18 Pray for
us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
59-4:15 For that
ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we
shall live, and do this, or that.
60-2:24 Who his
own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to
sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose
stripes ye were healed.
60-4:2 That he
no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of
men, but to the will of God.
60-4:6 For for
this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might
be judged according to men in the flesh, but live
according to God in the spirit.
61-2:6 And
turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after
should live ungodly;
61-2:18 For when
they speak great swelling words of
vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them
who live in error.
62-4:9 In this
was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only
begotten Son into the world, that we might live
through him.
66-13:14 And
deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the
means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;
saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the
beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
