01-13:10 And Lot lifted
up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and
Gomorrah, even as the garden of the
LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest
unto Zoar.
01-25:25 And the
first came out red, all over like an hairy
garment; and they called his name Esau.
02-7:11 Then
Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt,
they also did in like manner with their
enchantments.
02-8:10 And
he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according
to thy word: that thou mayest know that there
is none like unto the LORD our God.
02-9:14 For
I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy
servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the
earth.
02-9:24 So
there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there
was none like it in all the land of Egypt since
it became a nation.
02-11:6 And
there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was
none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
02-15:11 Who
is like
unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is
like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
02-16:31 And
the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and
the taste of it was like wafers made
with honey.
02-23:11 But
the seventh year thou shalt let it
rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave
the beasts of the field shall eat. In like
manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and
with thy oliveyard.
02-24:17 And
the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the
eyes of the children of Israel.
02-25:33 Three
bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch;
and three bowls made like almonds in the other
branch, with a knop and a flower: so
in the six branches that come out of the candlestick.
02-25:34 And
in the candlestick shall be four
bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.
02-28:11 With
the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou
engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt
make them to be set in ouches of gold.
02-28:21 And
the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according
to their names, like
the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according
to the twelve tribes.
02-28:36 And
thou shalt make a plate of pure gold,
and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE
LORD.
02-30:32 Upon
man’s flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the
composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.
02-30:33 Whosoever
compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.
02-30:34 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and
galbanum; these sweet spices with
pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like
weight:
02-30:38 Whosoever
shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall
even be cut off from his people.
02-34:1 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like
unto the first: and I will write upon these
tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.
02-34:4 And
he hewed two tables of stone like unto the
first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as
the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.
02-37:19 Three
bowls made after the fashion of almonds in one branch, a knop and a flower; and
three bowls made like almonds in another branch,
a knop and a flower: so throughout the six branches going out of the candlestick.
02-37:20 And
in the candlestick were four bowls
made like almonds, his knops, and his flowers:
02-39:8 And
he made the breastplate of cunning
work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet,
and fine twined linen.
02-39:14 And
the stones were according to the
names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the
engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve
tribes.
02-39:30 And
they made the plate of the holy crown of pure
gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO
THE LORD.
03-13:2 When a
man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a scab, or bright spot, and
it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be
brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:
04-23:10 Who can
count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my
last end be like his!
05-4:32 For ask now
of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God
created man upon the earth, and ask from
the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
05-7:26 Neither
shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou
shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
05-10:1 At that
time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the
mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
05-10:3 And I
made an ark of shittim wood, and
hewed two tables of stone like unto the first,
and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.
05-17:14 When thou
art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess
it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
05-18:8 They
shall have like portions to eat, beside that
which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.
05-18:15 The LORD
thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy
brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall
hearken;
05-18:18 I will
raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like
unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all
that I shall command him.
05-22:3 In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt
thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother’s, which he
hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide
thyself.
05-25:7 And if
the man like not to take his brother’s wife,
then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My
husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he
will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
05-25:8 Then the
elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and
say, I like not to take her;
05-29:23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and
Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
05-33:17 His glory is like the
firstling of his bullock, and his horns are
like the horns of unicorns: with them he
shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and
they are the thousands of Manasseh.
05-33:26 There is none like
unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth
upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
05-33:29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like
unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and
thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their
high places.
05-34:10 And there
arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto
Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,
06-10:14 And there
was no day like that before it or after it, that
the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
07-7:12 And the
Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the
valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and
their camels were without number, as
the sand by the sea side for multitude.
07-11:17 Then
Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass
through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken thereto. And in like manner they
sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel abode in Kadesh.
07-13:6 Then the
woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his
countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very
terrible: but I asked him not whence he was,
neither told he me his name:
07-16:12 Delilah
therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The
Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And
there were liers in wait abiding in
the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like
a thread.
07-16:17 That he
told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon
mine head; for I have been a Nazarite
unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from
me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
08-2:13 Then she said,
Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and
for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
08-4:11 And all
the people that were in the gate, and
the elders, said, We are witnesses.
The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like
Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the
house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:
08-4:12 And let
thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom
Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young
woman.
09-2:2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
09-4:9 Be
strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines,
that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit
yourselves like men, and fight.
09-8:5 And said
unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a
king to judge us like all the nations.
09-8:20 That we
also may be like all the nations; and that our
king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.
09-10:24 And Samuel
said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like
him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the
king.
09-17:7 And the staff
of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and
one bearing a shield went before him.
09-19:24 And he
stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all
that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul
also among the prophets?
09-21:9 And the
priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the
valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped
in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other
save that here. And David said, There is none
like that; give it me.
09-25:36 And
Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him
nothing, less or more, until the morning light.
09-26:15 And David
said to Abner, Art not thou a valiant man? and who is like
to thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lord the king? for
there came one of the people in to destroy the king thy lord.
10-7:9 And I
was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies
out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like
unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
10-7:22 Wherefore
thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none
like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard
with our ears.
10-7:23 And what
one nation in the earth is like thy people, even
like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a
people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and
terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from
Egypt, from the nations and their
gods?
10-18:27 And the
watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the
king said, He is a good man, and
cometh with good tidings.
10-21:19 And there
was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of
Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother
of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
10-22:34 He maketh
my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
11-3:12 Behold, I
have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an
understanding heart; so that there was none like
thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like
unto thee.
11-3:13 And I
have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour:
so that there shall not be any among the kings like
unto thee all thy days.
11-5:6 Now
therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my
servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy
servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill
to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
11-7:8 And his
house where he dwelt had another
court within the porch, which was of
the like work. Solomon made also an house for
Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to
wife, like unto this porch.
11-7:26 And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim
thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with
flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.
11-7:33 And the
work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and
their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.
11-8:23 And he
said, LORD God of Israel, there is no
God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth
beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee
with all their heart:
11-10:20 And twelve
lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there
was not the like made in any kingdom.
11-12:32 And
Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the
month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the
altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and
he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
11-16:3 Behold, I
will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and
will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam
the son of Nebat.
11-16:7 And also
by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD
against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the
sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in
being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he
killed him.
11-18:44 And it
came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little
cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he
said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy
chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
11-20:25 And number
thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost,
horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the
plain, and surely we shall be
stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice, and did so.
11-20:27 And the
children of Israel were numbered, and were all present, and went against them:
and the children of Israel pitched before them like
two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.
11-21:22 And will
make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the
son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the
son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.
11-21:25 But there
was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself
to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
11-22:13 And the
messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the
words of the prophets declare good
unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.
12-3:2 And he
wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like
his father, and like his mother: for he put away
the image of Baal that his father had made.
12-5:14 Then went
he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of
the man of God: and his flesh came again like
unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
12-9:9 And I
will make the house of Ahab like the house of
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of
Baasha the son of Ahijah:
12-9:20 And the
watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the
driving is like
the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.
12-13:7 Neither
did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots,
and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had
made them like the dust by threshing.
12-14:3 And he
did that which was right in the sight
of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he
did according to all things as Joash his father did.
12-16:2 Twenty
years old was Ahaz when he began to
reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.
12-17:14 Notwithstanding
they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like
to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
12-17:15 And they
rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and
his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and
became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning
whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
12-18:5 He
trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.
12-18:32 Until I
come and take you away to a land like your own
land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil
olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto
Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.
12-23:25 And like unto him was there no king before him, that
turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his
might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like
him.
12-25:17 The height
of the one pillar was eighteen
cubits, and the chapiter upon it was brass:
and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathen work, and
pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen
work.
13-4:27 And
Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many
children, neither did all their family multiply, like
to the children of Judah.
13-11:23 And
he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature,
five cubits high; and in the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam;
and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the
Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
13-12:8 And
of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the
wilderness men of might, and men of
war fit for the battle, that could
handle shield and buckler, whose faces were
like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the
mountains;
13-12:22 For
at that time day by day there came to
David to help him, until it was a
great host, like the host of God.
13-14:11 So
they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God
hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like
the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place
Baalperazim.
13-17:8 And
I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all
thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
13-17:20 O
LORD, there is none like thee, neither is
there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our
ears.
13-17:21 And
what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a
name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy
people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
13-20:5 And
there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew
Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like
a weaver’s beam.
13-27:23 But
David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the
LORD had said he would increase Israel like to
the stars of the heavens.
14-1:9 Now,
O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast
made me king over a people like the dust of the
earth in multitude.
14-1:12 Wisdom
and knowledge is granted unto thee;
and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings
have had that have been before thee, neither
shall there any after thee have the like.
14-4:5 And
the thickness of it was an
handbreadth, and the brim of it like the work of
the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies; and
it received and held three thousand baths.
14-6:14 And
said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no
God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth;
which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy
unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:
14-9:19 And
twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps.
There was not the like made in any kingdom.
14-18:12 And
the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words
of the prophets declare good to the
king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.
14-21:6 And
he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like
as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he
wrought that which was evil in the
eyes of the LORD.
14-21:13 But
hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the
inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like
to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy
father’s house, which were better
than thyself:
14-21:19 And
it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his
bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his
people made no burning for him, like the burning
of his fathers.
14-22:4 Wherefore
he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the
house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to
his destruction.
14-28:1 Ahaz
was twenty years old when he began to
reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the
LORD, like David his father:
14-30:7 And
be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD
God of their fathers, who therefore
gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
14-30:26 So
there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of
David king of Israel there was not
the like in Jerusalem.
14-33:2 But
did that which was evil in the sight
of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the
heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
14-35:18 And
there was no passover like to that kept in
Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel
keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all
Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
16-6:5 Then
sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like
manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;
16-13:26 Did not
Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no
king like him, who was beloved of his God, and
God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women
cause to sin.
17-2:20 Esther
had not yet shewed her kindred nor
her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of
Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with
him.
18-1:8 And the
LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like
him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and
escheweth evil?
18-2:3 And the
LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like
him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and
escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst
me against him, to destroy him without cause.
18-3:24 For my
sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.
18-5:26 Thou
shalt come to thy grave in a full
age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his
season.
18-7:1 Is there not an appointed time to man
upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?
18-8:2 How long
wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a
strong wind?
18-10:10 Hast thou
not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like
cheese?
18-11:12 For vain
man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass’s colt.
18-12:25 They grope
in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken
man.
18-13:12 Your
remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.
18-14:2 He cometh
forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth
also as a shadow, and continueth not.
18-14:9 Yet through the scent of water it will
bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
18-15:16 How much
more abominable and filthy is man,
which drinketh iniquity like water?
18-16:14 He
breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.
18-19:10 He hath
destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
18-20:7 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say,
Where is he?
18-21:11 They send
forth their little ones like a flock, and their
children dance.
18-30:19 He hath
cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust
and ashes.
18-32:19 Behold, my
belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like
new bottles.
18-34:7 What man is like
Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
18-36:22 Behold,
God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like
him?
18-38:3 Gird up
now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of
thee, and answer thou me.
18-40:7 Gird up
thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee,
and declare thou unto me.
18-40:9 Hast thou
an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a
voice like him?
18-40:17 He moveth
his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones
are wrapped together.
18-40:18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones
are like
bars of iron.
18-41:18 By his
neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are
like the eyelids of the morning.
18-41:31 He maketh
the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
18-41:33 Upon earth
there is not his like, who is made without fear.
18-42:8 Therefore
take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and
offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for
you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
19-1:3 And he
shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not
wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
19-1:4 The
ungodly are not so: but are like
the chaff which the wind driveth away.
19-2:9 Thou
shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
19-7:2 Lest he
tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
19-17:12 Like as a lion that
is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret
places.
19-18:33 He maketh
my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
19-22:14 I am
poured out like water, and all my bones are out
of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in
the midst of my bowels.
19-22:15 My
strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my
tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
19-28:1 Unto thee
will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like
them that go down into the pit.
19-29:6 He maketh
them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and
Sirion like a young unicorn.
19-31:12 I am forgotten
as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken
vessel.
19-35:10 All my
bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him
that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth
him?
19-36:6 Thy
righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou
preservest man and beast.
19-37:2 For they
shall soon be cut down like the grass, and
wither as the green herb.
19-37:35 I have
seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like
a green bay tree.
19-39:11 When thou
with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume
away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.
19-44:11 Thou hast
given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
19-49:12 Nevertheless
man being in honour abideth not: he
is like the beasts that perish.
19-49:14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall
feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and
their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
19-49:20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth
not, is like the beasts that perish.
19-52:2 Thy
tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor,
working deceitfully.
19-52:8 But I am like a
green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and
ever.
19-55:6 And I
said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at
rest.
19-58:4 Their
poison is like
the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
19-58:8 As a
snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the
untimely birth of a woman, that they
may not see the sun.
19-59:6 They
return at evening: they make a noise like a dog,
and go round about the city.
19-59:14 And at
evening let them return; and let them
make a noise like a dog, and go round about the
city.
19-64:3 Who whet
their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their
arrows, even bitter words:
19-71:19 Thy
righteousness also, O God, is very
high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!
19-72:6 He shall
come down like rain upon the mown grass: as
showers that water the earth.
19-72:16 There
shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the
fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
19-73:5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like
other men.
19-77:20 Thou
leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of
Moses and Aaron.
19-78:16 He brought
streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
19-78:27 He rained
flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like
as the sand of the sea:
19-78:52 But made
his own people to go forth like sheep, and
guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
19-78:57 But turned
back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers:
they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
19-78:65 Then the
Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
19-78:69 And he
built his sanctuary like high palaces, like
the earth which he hath established for ever.
19-79:3 Their
blood have they shed like water round about
Jerusalem; and there was none to bury
them.
19-79:5 How long,
LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
19-80:1 Give ear,
O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like
a flock; thou that dwellest between the
cherubims, shine forth.
19-80:10 The hills
were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
19-82:7 But ye
shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
19-83:11 Make their
nobles like Oreb, and like
Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
19-83:13 O my God,
make them like a wheel; as the stubble before
the wind.
19-86:8 Among the
gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy
works.
19-88:5 Free
among the dead, like the slain that lie in the
grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
19-88:17 They came
round about me daily like water; they compassed
me about together.
19-89:8 O LORD
God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about
thee?
19-89:46 How long,
LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
19-90:5 Thou
carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they
are like grass which groweth up.
19-92:10 But my
horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
19-92:12 The
righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he
shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
19-97:5 The hills
melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at
the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
19-102:3 For my
days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are
burned as an hearth.
19-102:4 My heart
is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I
forget to eat my bread.
19-102:6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
19-102:9 For I have
eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink
with weeping,
19-102:11 My days are like
a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like
grass.
19-102:26 They shall
perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them,
and they shall be changed:
19-103:5 Who
satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so
that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
19-103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD
pitieth them that fear him.
19-104:2 Who
coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the
heavens like a curtain:
19-105:41 He opened
the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a
river.
19-107:27 They reel
to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and
are at their wit’s end.
19-107:41 Yet setteth
he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
19-109:18 As he
clothed himself with cursing like as with his
garment, so let it come into his bowels like
water, and like oil into his bones.
19-109:23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and
down as the locust.
19-113:5 Who is like
unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
19-114:4 The
mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
19-114:6 Ye
mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye
little hills, like lambs?
19-115:8 They that
make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
19-118:12 They
compassed me about like bees; they are quenched
as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
19-119:83 For I am
become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.
19-119:119 Thou puttest
away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.
19-119:176 I have gone
astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for
I do not forget thy commandments.
19-126:1 When the
LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like
them that dream.
19-128:3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides
of thine house: thy children like olive plants
round about thy table.
19-133:2 It is like
the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to
the skirts of his garments;
19-135:18 They that
make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
19-140:3 They have
sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’
poison is under their lips. Selah.
19-143:7 Hear me
speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
19-144:4 Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.
19-147:16 He giveth
snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
19-147:17 He casteth
forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before
his cold?
20-12:18 There is
that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but
the tongue of the wise is health.
20-17:22 A merry
heart doeth good like
a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
20-18:19 A brother
offended is harder to be won than a
strong city: and their contentions are like
the bars of a castle.
20-20:5 Counsel
in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will
draw it out.
20-23:32 At the
last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
20-25:11 A word
fitly spoken is like
apples of gold in pictures of silver.
20-25:14 Whoso
boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.
20-25:19 Confidence
in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is
like a broken tooth, and a foot out of
joint.
20-25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a
city that is broken down, and without walls.
20-26:4 Answer
not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like
unto him.
20-26:17 He that
passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one
that taketh a dog by the ears.
20-26:23 Burning
lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
20-28:3 A poor
man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
20-31:14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from
afar.
22-2:9 My beloved
is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he
standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself
through the lattice.
22-2:17 Until the
day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of
Bether.
22-3:6 Who is this that cometh out of the
wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh
and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
22-4:2 Thy
teeth are like
a flock of sheep that are even shorn,
which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.
22-4:3 Thy lips
are like
a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely:
thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.
22-4:4 Thy neck
is like
the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand
bucklers, all shields of mighty men.
22-4:5 Thy two
breasts are like
two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies.
22-4:11 Thy lips,
O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of
thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.
22-5:13 His
cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies,
dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
22-6:12 Or ever I
was aware, my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib.
22-7:1 How
beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy
thighs are like
jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.
22-7:2 Thy
navel is like
a round goblet, which wanteth not
liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies.
22-7:3 Thy two
breasts are like
two young roes that are twins.
22-7:4 Thy neck
is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the
fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.
22-7:5 Thine
head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries.
22-7:7 This thy
stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts
to clusters of grapes.
22-7:8 I said,
I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also
thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples;
22-7:9 And the
roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my
beloved, that goeth down sweetly,
causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.
22-8:10 I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found
favour.
22-8:14 Make
haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to
a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
23-1:9 Except
the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as
Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
23-1:18 Come now,
and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like
crimson, they shall be as wool.
23-2:6 Therefore
thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished
from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in
the children of strangers.
23-3:18 In that
day the Lord will take away the bravery of their
tinkling ornaments about their feet, and
their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
23-5:28 Whose
arrows are sharp, and all their bows
bent, their horses’ hoofs shall be counted like
flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.
23-5:29 Their
roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like
young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.
23-5:30 And in
that day they shall roar against them like the
roaring of the sea: and if one look
unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow,
and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
23-9:18 For
wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and
shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the
lifting up of smoke.
23-10:6 I will
send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath
will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread
them down like the mire of the streets.
23-10:13 For he
saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the
bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the
inhabitants like a valiant man:
23-10:16 Therefore
shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under
his glory he shall kindle a burning like the
burning of a fire.
23-11:7 And the
cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the
lion shall eat straw like the ox.
23-11:16 And there
shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from
Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day
that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
23-13:4 The noise
of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a
great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together:
the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
23-14:10 All they
shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become
like unto us?
23-14:14 I will
ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like
the most High.
23-14:19 But thou
art cast out of thy grave like an abominable
branch, and as the raiment of those
that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the
pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
23-16:11 Wherefore
my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and
mine inward parts for Kirharesh.
23-17:12 Woe to the
multitude of many people, which make
a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the
rushing of nations, that make a
rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
23-17:13 The
nations shall rush like the rushing of many
waters: but God shall rebuke them,
and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains
before the wind, and like a rolling thing before
the whirlwind.
23-18:4 For so
the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling
place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a
cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
23-19:16 In that
day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall
be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts,
which he shaketh over it.
23-20:3 And the
LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked
naked and barefoot three years for a
sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;
23-22:18 He will
surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou
die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall
be the shame of thy lord’s house.
23-24:20 The earth
shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall
be removed like a cottage; and the transgression
thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
23-26:17 Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we
been in thy sight, O LORD.
23-27:10 Yet the
defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and
there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof.
23-29:5 Moreover
the multitude of thy strangers shall be like
small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant
suddenly.
23-30:33 For Tophet
is ordained of old; yea, for the king
it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the
LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle
it.
23-31:4 For thus
hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion
and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called
forth against him, he will not be
afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the
LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
23-33:4 And your spoil
shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running to and
fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
23-33:9 The earth
mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is
ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
23-36:17 Until I
come and take you away to a land like your own
land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
23-38:12 Mine age
is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining
sickness: from day even to night wilt
thou make an end of me.
23-38:14 Like a crane or a
swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am
oppressed; undertake for me.
23-40:11 He shall feed
his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the
lambs with his arm, and carry them in
his bosom, and shall gently lead
those that are with young.
23-42:13 The LORD
shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall
prevail against his enemies.
23-42:14 I have
long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will
I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy
and devour at once.
23-46:5 To whom
will ye liken me, and make me equal,
and compare me, that we may be like?
23-46:9 Remember the
former things of old: for I am God,
and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
23-48:19 Thy seed
also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been
cut off nor destroyed from before me.
23-49:2 And he
hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the
shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver
hath he hid me;
23-50:7 For the
Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I
set my face like a flint, and I know that I
shall not be ashamed.
23-51:3 For the
LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make
her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be
found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
23-51:6 Lift up
your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens
shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth
shall wax old like a garment, and they that
dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my
salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
23-51:8 For the
moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the
worm shall eat them like wool: but my
righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to
generation.
23-53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one
to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
23-57:20 But the
wicked are like
the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
23-58:1 Cry
aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a
trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their
sins.
23-58:11 And the
LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make
fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered
garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters
fail not.
23-59:10 We grope
for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day
as in the night; we are in desolate
places as dead men.
23-59:11 We roar
all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
23-59:19 So shall
they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of
the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a
flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
23-63:2 Wherefore
art thou red in thine apparel, and
thy garments like him that treadeth in the
winefat?
23-64:6 But we
are all as an unclean thing, and all
our righteousnesses are as filthy
rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
23-65:25 The wolf
and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all
my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
23-66:12 For thus
saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like
a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a
flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her
knees.
23-66:14 And when
ye see this, your heart shall
rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an
herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
23-66:15 For,
behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and
his rebuke with flames of fire.
24-2:30 In vain
have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath
devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
24-4:4 Circumcise
yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of
Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
24-5:19 And it
shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all
these things unto us? then shalt thou
answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and
served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
24-6:23 They
shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are
cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like
the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O
daughter of Zion.
24-9:3 And they
bend their tongues like their bow for
lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they
proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
24-9:12 Who is the wise man, that may understand
this? and who is he to whom the mouth
of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
24-10:6 Forasmuch
as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great
in might.
24-10:7 Who would
not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as
among all the wise men of the
nations, and in all their kingdoms, there
is none like unto thee.
24-10:16 The
portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is
the former of all things; and
Israel is the rod of his inheritance:
The LORD of hosts is his name.
24-11:19 But I was like
a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had
devised devices against me, saying, Let
us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the
land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
24-12:3 But thou,
O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull
them out like sheep for the slaughter, and
prepare them for the day of slaughter.
24-14:6 And the
wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
24-17:6 For he
shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall
not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the
wilderness, in a salt land and not
inhabited.
24-21:12 O house of
David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of
the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire,
and burn that none can quench it, because
of the evil of your doings.
24-23:9 Mine
heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like
a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of
his holiness.
24-23:29 Is not my word like
as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
24-24:2 One
basket had very good figs, even like
the figs that are first ripe: and the
other basket had very naughty figs,
which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
24-24:5 Thus
saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these
good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah,
whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.
24-25:34 Howl, ye
shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in
the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of
your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like
a pleasant vessel.
24-26:6 Then will
I make this house like Shiloh, and will make
this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
24-26:9 Why hast
thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without
an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house
of the LORD.
24-26:18 Micah the
Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all
the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed
like a
field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the
high places of a forest.
24-29:17 Thus saith
the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the
pestilence, and will make them like vile figs,
that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
24-29:22 And of
them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, The LORD make
thee like Zedekiah and like
Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;
24-30:7 Alas! for
that day is great, so that none is like
it: it is even the time of Jacob’s
trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
24-31:28 And it
shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to
break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch
over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.
24-32:42 For thus
saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this
great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have
promised them.
24-36:32 Then took
Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who
wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which
Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides
unto them many like words.
24-38:9 My lord
the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the
prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.
24-46:8 Egypt
riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the
rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will
cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
24-46:20 Egypt is like a
very fair heifer, but destruction
cometh; it cometh out of the north.
24-46:21 Also her
hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not
stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.
24-46:22 The voice
thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall
march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
24-48:6 Flee,
save your lives, and be like the heath in the
wilderness.
24-48:28 O ye that
dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that
maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth.
24-48:36 Therefore
mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and
mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of
Kirheres: because the riches that he
hath gotten are perished.
24-48:38 There shall be lamentation generally
upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken
Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
24-49:19 Behold, he
shall come up like a lion from the swelling of
Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run
away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for
who is like
me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
24-50:42 They shall
hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel,
and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like
the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every
one put in array, like a man to the battle,
against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
24-50:44 Behold, he
shall come up like a lion from the swelling of
Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run
away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for
who is like
me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
24-51:19 The
portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is
the former of all things: and Israel
is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.
24-51:33 For thus
saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a
threshingfloor, it is time to thresh
her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.
24-51:34 Nebuchadrezzar
the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an
empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a
dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.
24-51:38 They shall
roar together like lions: they shall yell as
lions’ whelps.
24-51:40 I will
bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats.
24-51:55 Because
the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when
her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of
their voice is uttered:
24-52:22 And a
chapiter of brass was upon it; and
the height of one chapiter was five
cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the
pomegranates were like unto these.
25-1:6 And
from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find
no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
25-1:12 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass
by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like
unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
25-1:21 They
have heard that I sigh: there is none
to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that
thou hast done it: thou wilt bring
the day that thou hast called, and
they shall be like unto me.
25-2:3 He
hath cut off in his fierce anger all
the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy,
and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire,
which devoureth round about.
25-2:4 He
hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with
his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of
Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
25-2:13 What
thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O
daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O
virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is
great like the sea: who can heal thee?
25-2:18 Their
heart cried unto the Lord, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let
not the apple of thine eye cease.
25-2:19 Arise,
cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy
hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in
the top of every street.
25-3:52 Mine
enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without
cause.
25-4:3 Even
the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the
daughter of my people is become cruel,
like the ostriches in the wilderness.
25-4:8 Their
visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin
cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like
a stick.
25-5:10 Our
skin was black like an oven because of the
terrible famine.
26-1:7 And
their feet were straight feet; and
the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
26-1:13 As for
the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like
the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and
the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
26-1:16 The
appearance of the wheels and their work was
like unto the colour of a beryl: and they
four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
26-1:24 And when
they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like
the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech,
as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
26-2:8 But
thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat
that I give thee.
26-5:9 And I
will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any
more the like, because of all thine
abominations.
26-7:16 But they
that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every
one for his iniquity.
26-12:11 Say, I am your sign: like
as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
26-13:4 O Israel,
thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.
26-16:16 And of thy
garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and
playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
26-18:10 If he
beget a son that is a robber, a
shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one
of these things,
26-18:14 Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his
father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
26-19:10 Thy mother
is like
a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of
branches by reason of many waters.
26-20:36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness
of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
26-22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in
the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening
the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious
things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
26-22:27 Her
princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest
gain.
26-23:18 So she
discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was
alienated from her, like as my mind was
alienated from her sister.
26-23:20 For she
doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is
as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is
like the issue of horses.
26-25:8 Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of
Judah is like
unto all the heathen;
26-26:4 And they
shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape
her dust from her, and make her like the top of
a rock.
26-26:14 And I will
make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt
be built no more: for I the LORD have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
26-26:19 For thus
saith the Lord GOD; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall
bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;
26-27:32 And in
their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?
26-31:2 Son of
man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
26-31:8 The
cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God
was like unto him in his beauty.
26-31:18 To whom
art thou thus like in glory and in greatness
among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden
unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the
uncircumcised with them that be slain
by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all
his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
26-32:2 Son of
man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou
art like a young lion of the nations, and thou art as a whale in the seas: and thou
camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and
fouledst their rivers.
26-32:14 Then will
I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord GOD.
26-36:35 And they
shall say, This land that was desolate is become like
the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
26-36:37 Thus saith
the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be
enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it
for them; I will increase them with men like
a flock.
26-38:9 Thou
shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt
be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all
thy bands, and many people with thee.
26-40:3 And he
brought me thither, and, behold, there
was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in
his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.
26-40:25 And there were windows in it and in the
arches thereof round about, like those windows:
the length was fifty cubits, and the
breadth five and twenty cubits.
26-41:25 And there were made on them, on the doors of
the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of
the porch without.
26-42:11 And the
way before them was like the appearance of the chambers which were toward the north, as long as they, and as broad as they: and all their
goings out were both according to
their fashions, and according to their doors.
26-43:2 And,
behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his
voice was like
a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
26-43:3 And it was according to the appearance of
the vision which I saw, even according
to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like
the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.
26-45:25 In the
seventh month, in the fifteenth day
of the month, shall he do the like in the feast
of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt
offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.
27-1:19 And the
king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore
stood they before the king.
27-2:35 Then was the
iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together,
and became like the chaff of the summer
threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for
them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled
the whole earth.
27-3:25 He
answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire,
and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like
the Son of God.
27-4:33 The same
hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men,
and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till
his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
27-5:11 There is
a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the
spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding
and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was
found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the
magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
27-5:21 And he
was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of
heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he
will.
27-7:4 The
first was like
a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked,
and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and
a man’s heart was given to it.
27-7:5 And
behold another beast, a second, like to a bear,
and it raised up itself on one side, and it
had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said
thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
27-7:6 After
this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard,
which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four
heads; and dominion was given to it.
27-7:8 I
considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little
horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots:
and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great
things.
27-7:9 I beheld
till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment
was white as snow, and the hair of
his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the
fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
27-7:13 I saw in
the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven,
and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
27-10:6 His body
also was like
the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps
of fire, and his arms and his feet like in
colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like
the voice of a multitude.
27-10:16 And,
behold, one like
the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and
spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my
sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
27-10:18 Then there
came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
27-11:40 And at the
time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the
north shall come against him like a whirlwind,
with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into
the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
28-2:3 Lest I
strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a
wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and
slay her with thirst.
28-4:9 And
there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways,
and reward them their doings.
28-5:10 The
princes of Judah were like them that remove the
bound: therefore I will pour out my
wrath upon them like water.
28-6:7 But they
like men have transgressed the covenant: there
have they dealt treacherously against me.
28-7:6 For they
have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles
they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth
as a flaming fire.
28-7:11 Ephraim
also is like a silly dove without heart: they
call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
28-7:16 They
return, but not to the most High:
they are like a deceitful bow: their princes
shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
28-9:10 I found
Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your
fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated
themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as
they loved.
28-9:11 As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly
away like a bird, from the birth, and from the
womb, and from the conception.
28-11:10 They shall
walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion:
when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
28-13:8 I will
meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of
their heart, and there will I devour them like a
lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
28-14:8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more
with idols? I have heard him, and
observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
29-1:8 Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of
her youth.
29-2:2 A day of
darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the
morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not
been ever the like, neither shall be any more
after it, even to the years of many
generations.
29-2:5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains
shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of
fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
29-2:7 They
shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the
wall like men of war; and they shall march every
one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
29-2:9 They
shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall
climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
30-2:9 Yet
destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars,
and he was strong as the oaks; yet I
destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
30-5:6 Seek the
LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like
fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it,
and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
30-6:5 That
chant to the sound of the viol, and invent
to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
30-9:5 And the
Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth
the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it
shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be
drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
30-9:9 For, lo,
I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is
sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
32-1:4 But the
LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the
sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
33-1:8 Therefore
I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.
33-4:10 Be in
pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like
a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt
dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even
to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee
from the hand of thine enemies.
33-7:17 They
shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall
move out of their holes like worms of the earth:
they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.
33-7:18 Who is a God like
unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the
remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he
delighteth in mercy.
34-1:6 Who can
stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger?
his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks
are thrown down by him.
34-2:4 The
chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in
the broad ways: they shall seem like torches,
they shall run like the lightnings.
34-2:8 But
Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand,
stand, shall they cry; but none shall
look back.
34-3:12 All thy
strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be
shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
34-3:15 There
shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the
cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
35-3:19 The LORD
God is my strength, and he will make
my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the
chief singer on my stringed instruments.
36-1:17 And I
will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like
blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be
poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
36-2:13 And he
will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make
Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
38-1:6 But my
words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not
take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like
as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and
according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
38-5:9 Then
lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and
the wind was in their wings; for they
had wings like the wings of a stork: and they
lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.
38-9:15 The LORD
of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling
stones; and they shall drink, and make
a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like
bowls, and as the corners of the
altar.
38-10:7 And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man,
and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall
see it, and be glad; their heart
shall rejoice in the LORD.
38-12:6 In that
day will I make the governors of Judah like an
hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch
of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the
right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own
place, even in Jerusalem.
38-14:5 And ye
shall flee to the valley of the
mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake
in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
38-14:20 In that
day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and
the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the
bowls before the altar.
39-3:2 But who
may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a
refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ sope:
40-3:16 And
Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the
heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
40-6:8 Be not
ye therefore like unto them: for your Father
knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
40-6:29 And yet I
say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
40-11:16 But
whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like
unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
40-12:13 Then saith
he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like
as the other.
40-13:31 Another
parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and
sowed in his field:
40-13:33 Another
parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like
unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the
whole was leavened.
40-13:44 Again, the
kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a
field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth
and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
40-13:45 Again, the
kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man,
seeking goodly pearls:
40-13:47 Again, the
kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was
cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
40-13:52 Then said
he unto them, Therefore every scribe which
is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like
unto a man that is an householder,
which bringeth forth out of his treasure things
new and old.
40-20:1 For the
kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out
early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
40-21:24 And Jesus
answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell
me, I in like wise will tell you by what
authority I do these things.
40-22:2 The
kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king,
which made a marriage for his son,
40-22:39 And the
second is like
unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40-23:27 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like
unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within
full of dead men’s bones, and of all
uncleanness.
40-28:3 His
countenance was like lightning, and his raiment
white as snow:
41-1:10 And
straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the
Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
41-4:31 It is like
a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all
the seeds that be in the earth:
41-7:8 For
laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and
many other such like things ye do.
41-7:13 Making
the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered:
and many such like things do ye.
41-12:31 And the
second is like,
namely this, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
41-13:29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to
pass, know that it is nigh, even at
the doors.
42-3:22 And the
Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a
dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved
Son; in thee I am well pleased.
42-6:23 Rejoice
ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like
manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
42-6:47 Whosoever
cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom
he is like:
42-6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and
laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat
vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a
rock.
42-6:49 But he
that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that
without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream
did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was
great.
42-7:31 And the
Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what
are they like?
42-7:32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and
calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not
danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
42-12:27 Consider
the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you,
that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like
one of these.
42-12:36 And ye
yourselves like unto men that wait for their
lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh,
they may open unto him immediately.
42-13:18 Then said
he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and
whereunto shall I resemble it?
42-13:19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and
cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the
air lodged in the branches of it.
42-13:21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three
measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
42-20:31 And the
third took her; and in like manner the seven
also: and they left no children, and died.
43-1:32 And John
bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
43-7:46 The officers
answered, Never man spake like this man.
43-8:55 Yet ye
have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I
shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him,
and keep his saying.
43-9:9 Some
said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he
said, I am he.
44-1:11 Which also
said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus,
which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
44-2:3 And
there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as
of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
44-3:22 For Moses
truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto
you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye
hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
44-7:37 This is
that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord
your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like
unto me; him shall ye hear.
44-8:32 The place
of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the
slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his
shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
44-11:17 Forasmuch
then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord
Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
44-14:15 And
saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye
should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and
earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
44-17:29 Forasmuch
then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and
man’s device.
44-19:25 Whom he
called together with the workmen of like
occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
45-1:23 And
changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted
beasts, and creeping things.
45-1:28 And even
as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a
reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
45-6:4 Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like
as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we
also should walk in newness of life.
45-9:29 And as
Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been
as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
46-16:13 Watch
ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men,
be strong.
48-5:21 Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit
the kingdom of God.
50-3:21 Who shall
change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like
unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to
subdue all things unto himself.
52-2:14 For
ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in
Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like
things of your own countrymen, even as they have
of the Jews:
54-2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in
modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or
gold, or pearls, or costly array;
58-2:17 Wherefore
in all things it behoved him to be made like
unto his brethren, that he might be a
merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining
to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
58-4:15 For we
have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but was in all points tempted like
as we are, yet without sin.
58-7:3 Without
father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor
end of life; but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually.
59-1:6 But let
him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and
tossed.
59-1:23 For if
any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like
unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
59-5:17 Elias was
a man subject to like passions as we are, and he
prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the
space of three years and six months.
60-3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the
filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the
resurrection of Jesus Christ:
61-1:1 Simon
Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness
of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
62-3:2 Beloved,
now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we
know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like
him; for we shall see him as he is.
65-1:7 Even as
Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like
manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are
set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
66-1:13 And in
the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down
to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
66-1:14 His head
and his hairs were white like wool, as white as
snow; and his eyes were as a flame of
fire;
66-1:15 And his
feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in
a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
66-2:18 And unto the
angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who
hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his
feet are like
fine brass;
66-4:3 And he
that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a
sardine stone: and there was a
rainbow round about the throne, in sight like
unto an emerald.
66-4:6 And
before the throne there was a sea of
glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the
throne, and round about the throne, were four
beasts full of eyes before and behind.
66-4:7 And the
first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man,
and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
66-9:7 And the
shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their
heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
66-9:10 And they
had tails like unto scorpions, and there were
stings in their tails: and their power was
to hurt men five months.
66-9:19 For their
power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like
unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
66-11:1 And there
was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the
angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and
them that worship therein.
66-13:2 And the
beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and
his feet were as the feet of a bear,
and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and
his seat, and great authority.
66-13:4 And they
worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the
beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
66-13:11 And I
beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
66-14:14 And I
looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man,
having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
66-16:13 And I saw
three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and
out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
66-18:18 And cried
when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
66-18:21 And a
mighty angel took up a stone like a great
millstone, and cast it into the sea,
saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and
shall be found no more at all.
66-21:11 Having the
glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
66-21:18 And the
building of the wall of it was of jasper:
and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
