the children of
02-30:15 The
rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less
than half a shekel, when they give an
offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.
04-NUMBERS
04-22:18 And
Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his
house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God,
to do less or more.
04-26:54 To
many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance
be given according to those that were numbered of him.
04-33:54 And
ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more
inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less
inheritance: every man’s inheritance shall
be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers
ye shall inherit.
09-22:15 Did
I then begin to enquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king
impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for
thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or
more.
09-25:36 And
Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the
feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart was merry
within him, for he was very drunken:
wherefore she told him nothing, less or more,
until the morning light.
11-8:27 But
will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens
cannot contain thee; how much less this house
that I have builded?
14-6:18 But
will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the
heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less
this house which I have built!
14-32:15 Now
therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner,
neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to
deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how
much less shall your God deliver you out of mine
hand?
15-9:13 And
after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass,
seeing that thou our God hast punished us less
than our iniquities deserve, and hast
given us such deliverance as this;
18-4:19 How
much less in
them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are
crushed before the moth?
18-9:14 How
much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
18-11:6 And
that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth
of thee less
than thine iniquity deserveth.
18-25:6 How
much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
18-34:19 How much less
to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich
more than the poor? for they all are the
work of his hands.
20-17:7 Excellent
speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying
lips a prince.
20-19:10 Delight
is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant
to have rule over princes.
23-40:17 All
nations before him are as nothing;
and they are counted to him less than nothing,
and vanity.
26-15:5 Behold,
when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less
shall it be meet yet for any work,
when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned?
41-4:31 It is like a grain of mustard seed,
which, when it is sown in the earth, is less
than all the seeds that be in the earth:
41-15:40 There
were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary
the mother of James the less and of Joses, and
Salome;
46-12:23 And
those members of the body, which we
think to be less honourable, upon these we
bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
47-12:15 And
I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I
love you, the less I be loved.
49-3:8 Unto
me, who am less than the least of all saints, is
this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable
riches of Christ;
50-2:28 I
sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may
rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
58-7:7 And
without all contradiction the less is blessed of
the better.

01-1:16 And
God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
23-ISAIAH
23-7:25 And
on all hills that shall be digged
with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns:
but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
26-EZEKIEL
26-43:14 And
from the bottom upon the ground even to the lower settle shall be two cubits, and the breadth one
cubit; and from the lesser settle even to the greater settle shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit.

01-GENESIS
01-3:3 But
of the fruit of the tree which is in
the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall
ye touch it, lest ye die.
01-3:22 And
the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and
evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and
take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
01-4:15 And
the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be
taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
01-11:4 And
they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make
us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the
face of the whole earth.
01-14:23 That
I will not take from a thread even to
a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I
have made Abram rich:
01-19:15 And
when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy
wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest
thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
01-19:17 And
it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape
for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape
to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
01-19:19 Behold
now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy
mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to
the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
01-26:7 And
the men of the place asked him of his
wife; and he said, She is my sister:
for he feared to say, She is my wife;
lest, said
he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.
01-26:9 And
Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.
01-32:11 Deliver
me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear
him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.
01-38:9 And
Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in
unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it
on the ground, lest that he should give seed
to his brother.
01-38:11 Then
said Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house,
till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest
peradventure he die also, as his brethren did.
And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.
01-38:23 And
Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou
hast not found her.
01-42:4 But
Benjamin, Joseph’s brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him.
01-44:34 For
how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be
not with me? lest peradventure I see the
evil that shall come on my father.
01-45:11 And
there will I nourish thee; for yet there
are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy
household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.
02-1:10 Come
on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they
multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join
also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
02-5:3 And
they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee,
three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the
sword.
02-13:17 And
it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the
Philistines, although that was near;
for God said, Lest peradventure the people
repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
02-19:21 And
the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest
they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.
02-19:22 And
let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
02-19:24 And
the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and
Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come
up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
02-20:19 And
they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God
speak with us, lest we die.
02-23:29 I
will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest
the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
02-23:33 They
shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee
sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto
thee.
02-33:3 Unto
a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee;
for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.
02-34:12 Take
heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with
the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest
it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
02-34:15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the
land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods,
and one call thee, and thou eat of
his sacrifice;
03-10:6 And
Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not
your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye
die, and lest wrath come upon all the people:
but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the
LORD hath kindled.
03-10:7 And
ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to
the word of Moses.
03-10:9 Do
not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into
the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die:
it shall be a statute for ever
throughout your generations:
03-19:29 Do
not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become
full of wickedness.
03-22:9 They
shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they
bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the LORD do sanctify
them.
04-4:15 And
when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the
vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons
of Kohath shall come to bear it: but
they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of
the congregation.
04-4:20 But
they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.
04-16:26 And
he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of
these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest
ye be consumed in all their sins.
04-16:34 And
all Israel that were round about them
fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the
earth swallow us up also.
04-18:22 Neither
must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the
congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.
04-18:32 And
ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of
it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
04-20:18 And
Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest
I come out against thee with the sword.
05-1:42 And
the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.
05-4:9 Only
take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest
thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest
they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons,
and thy sons’ sons;
05-4:16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves,
and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of
male or female,
05-4:19 And
lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and
when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them,
and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the
whole heaven.
05-4:23 Take
heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the
covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven
image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath
forbidden thee.
05-6:12 Then beware lest
thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from
the house of bondage.
05-6:15 (For
the LORD thy God is a jealous God
among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be
kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
05-7:22 And
the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little:
thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the
beasts of the field increase upon thee.
05-7:25 The
graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the
silver or gold that is on them, nor
take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.
05-7:26 Neither
shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest
thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou
shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
05-8:12 Lest when thou
hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
05-9:28 Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say,
Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised
them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the
wilderness.
05-11:17 And
then the LORD’S wrath be kindled
against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the
land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land
which the LORD giveth you.
05-19:6 Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while
his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him;
whereas he was not worthy of death,
inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.
05-20:5 And
the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it?
let him go and return to his house, lest he die
in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
05-20:6 And
what man is he that hath planted a
vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of
it? let him also go and return unto
his house, lest he die in the battle, and
another man eat of it.
05-20:7 And
what man is there that hath betrothed
a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.
05-20:8 And
the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and
fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest
his brethren’s heart faint as well as his heart.
05-22:9 Thou
shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest
the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be
defiled.
05-24:15 At
his day thou shalt give him his hire,
neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest
he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
05-25:3 Forty
stripes he may give him, and not
exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes,
then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
05-29:18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or
family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to
go and serve the gods of these
nations; lest there should be among you a root
that beareth gall and wormwood;
05-32:27 Were
it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest
their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all
this.
06-2:16 And
she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest
the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers
be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.
06-6:18 And
ye, in any wise keep yourselves from
the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the
accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
06-9:20 This
we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest
wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.
06-24:27 And
Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us;
for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be
therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your
God.
07-7:2 And
the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are
with thee are too many for me to
give the Midianites into their hands, lest
Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.
07-14:15 And
it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice
thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest
we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us to take that
we have? is it not so?
07-18:25 And
the children of Dan said unto him, Let not thy voice be heard among us, lest angry fellows run upon thee, and thou lose thy
life, with the lives of thy household.
08-4:6 And
the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for
myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem
thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.
09-9:5 And when they were come to the land of
Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with
him, Come, and let us return; lest my father
leave caring for the asses, and take
thought for us.
09-13:19 Now
there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines
said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears:
09-15:6 And
Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites,
lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed
kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the
Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
09-20:3 And
David sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found
grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the LORD liveth, and as thy
soul liveth, there is but a step
between me and death.
09-27:11 And
David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should
tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will
be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
09-29:4 And
the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the
Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his
place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle,
lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for
wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the
heads of these men?
09-31:4 Then
said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through
therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and
thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was
sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
10-1:20 Tell
it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
10-12:28 Now
therefore gather the rest of the people together, and encamp against the city,
and take it: lest I take the city, and it be
called after my name.
10-13:25 And
the king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him:
howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.
10-14:11 Then
said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou
wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one
hair of thy son fall to the earth.
10-15:14 And
David said unto all his servants that were
with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to
depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil
upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.
10-17:16 Now
therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the
plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest
the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.
10-20:6 And
David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord’s
servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him
fenced cities, and escape us.
12-2:16 And
they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men;
let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest
peradventure the spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some
mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
13-10:4 Then
said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith;
lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But
his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and
fell upon it.
18-32:13 Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God
thrusteth him down, not man.
18-34:30 That
the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be
ensnared.
18-36:18 Because
there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot
deliver thee.
18-42:8 Therefore
take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and
offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for
you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you
after your folly, in that ye have not
spoken of me the thing which is right,
like my servant Job.
19-2:12 Kiss
the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled
but a little. Blessed are all they that
put their trust in him.
19-7:2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
19-13:3 Consider
and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten
mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
19-13:4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I
am moved.
19-28:1 Unto
thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest,
if thou be silent to me, I become
like them that go down into the pit.
19-32:9 Be
ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth
must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they
come near unto thee.
19-38:16 For
I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they
should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
19-50:22 Now
consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
19-59:11 Slay
them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by
thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
19-91:12 They
shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
19-106:23 Therefore
he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him
in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he
should destroy them.
19-125:3 For
the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto
iniquity.
19-140:8 Grant
not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they
exalt themselves. Selah.
19-143:7 Hear
me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
20-5:6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways
are moveable, that thou canst not
know them.
20-5:9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years
unto the cruel:
20-5:10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy
labours be in the house of a
stranger;
20-9:8 Reprove
not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise
man, and he will love thee.
20-20:13 Love
not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine
eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied
with bread.
20-22:25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
20-24:18 Lest the LORD see it,
and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
20-25:8 Go
not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end
thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.
20-25:10 Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.
20-25:16 Hast
thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.
20-25:17 Withdraw
thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be
weary of thee, and so hate thee.
20-26:4 Answer
not a fool according to his folly, lest thou
also be like unto him.
20-26:5 Answer
a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise
in his own conceit.
20-30:6 Add
thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee,
and thou be found a liar.
20-30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the
LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the
name of my God in vain.
20-30:10 Accuse
not a servant unto his master, lest he curse
thee, and thou be found guilty.
20-31:5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the
judgment of any of the afflicted.
21-7:21 Also
take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest
thou hear thy servant curse thee:
23-6:10 Make
the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their
ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
23-27:3 I
the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest
any hurt it, I will keep it night and
day.
23-28:22 Now
therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be
made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even
determined upon the whole earth.
23-36:18 Beware lest
Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Hath any of the gods
of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
23-48:5 I
have even from the beginning declared it to
thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee:
lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done
them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
23-48:7 They
are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou
heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say,
Behold, I knew them.
24-1:17 Thou
therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command
thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I
confound thee before them.
24-4:4 Circumcise
yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of
Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury
come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
24-6:8 Be
thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul
depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a
land not inhabited.
24-10:24 O
LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
24-21:12 O
house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and
deliver him that is spoiled out of
the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out
like fire, and burn that none can quench it,
because of the evil of your doings.
24-37:20 Therefore
hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray thee, be
accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan
the scribe, lest I die there.
24-38:19 And
Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen
to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into
their hand, and they mock me.
24-51:46 And
lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour
that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another
year shall come a rumour, and
violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
28-2:3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that
she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and
slay her with thirst.
30-5:6 Seek
the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out
like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to
quench it in Bethel.
38-7:12 Yea,
they made their hearts as an adamant
stone, lest they should hear the law, and the
words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets:
therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
39-4:6 And
he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the
children to their fathers, lest I come and smite
the earth with a curse.
40-4:6 And
saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written,
He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest
at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
40-5:25 Agree
with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the
judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
40-7:6 Give
not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine,
lest they trample them under their feet, and turn
again and rend you.
40-13:15 For
this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their
ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted,
and I should heal them.
40-13:29 But
he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares,
ye root up also the wheat with them.
40-15:32 Then
Jesus called his disciples unto him, and
said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now
three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
40-17:27 Notwithstanding,
lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea,
and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast
opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto
them for me and thee.
40-25:9 But
the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye
rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
40-26:5 But
they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
40-27:64 Command
therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and
say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be
worse than the first.
41-3:9 And
he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the
multitude, lest they should throng him.
41-4:12 That
seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not
understand; lest at any time they should be
converted, and their sins should be
forgiven them.
41-13:5 And
Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest
any man deceive you:
41-13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
41-14:2 But
they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
41-14:38 Watch
ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The
spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
42-4:11 And
in their hands they shall bear thee
up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against
a stone.
42-8:12 Those
by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the
word out of their hearts, lest they should
believe and be saved.
42-12:58 When
thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be
delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the
judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee
into prison.
42-14:8 When
thou art bidden of any man to a
wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest
a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
42-14:12 Then
said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not
thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also
bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
42-14:29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is
not able to finish it, all that
behold it begin to mock him,
42-16:28 For
I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest
they also come into this place of torment.
42-18:5 Yet
because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest
by her continual coming she weary me.
42-21:34 And
take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your
hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life,
and so that day come upon you
unawares.
42-22:46 And
said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest
ye enter into temptation.
43-3:20 For
every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
43-5:14 Afterward
Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made
whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto
thee.
43-12:35 Then
Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye
have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for
he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
43-12:42 Nevertheless
among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees
they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43-18:28 Then
led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they
themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest
they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
44-5:26 Then
went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they
feared the people, lest they should have been
stoned.
44-5:39 But
if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest
haply ye be found even to fight against God.
44-13:40 Beware
therefore, lest that come upon you, which is
spoken of in the prophets;
44-23:10 And
when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them,
commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them,
and to bring him into the castle.
44-27:17 Which
when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake
sail, and so were driven.
44-27:29 Then
fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks,
they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
44-27:42 And
the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest
any of them should swim out, and escape.
44-28:27 For
the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing,
and their eyes have they closed; lest they
should see with their eyes, and hear
with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted,
and I should heal them.
45-11:21 For
if God spared not the natural branches, take
heed lest he also spare not thee.
45-11:25 For
I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that
blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be
come in.
45-15:20 Yea,
so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:
46-1:15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own
name.
46-1:17 For
Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of
words, lest the cross of Christ should be made
of none effect.
46-8:9 But
take heed lest by any means this liberty of
yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
46-8:13 Wherefore,
if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world
standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
46-9:12 If
others be partakers of this power
over you, are not we rather?
Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
46-9:27 But
I keep under my body, and bring it into
subjection: lest that by any means, when I have
preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
46-10:12 Wherefore
let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest
he fall.
47-2:3 And
I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I
should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in
you all, that my joy is the joy of
you all.
47-2:7 So
that contrariwise ye ought rather to
forgive him, and comfort him, lest
perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
47-2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are
not ignorant of his devices.
47-4:4 In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who
is the image of God, should shine unto them.
47-9:3 Yet
have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of
you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
47-9:4 Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find
you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same
confident boasting.
47-11:3 But
I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent
beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the
simplicity that is in Christ.
47-12:6 For
though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the
truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he
seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
47-12:7 And
lest I should be exalted above measure through
the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh,
the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I
should be exalted above measure.
47-12:20 For
I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such
as I would, and that I shall be found
unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths,
strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
47-12:21 And lest,
when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not
repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have
committed.
47-13:10 Therefore
I write these things being absent, lest being
present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath
given me to edification, and not to destruction.
48-2:2 And
I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach
among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
48-4:11 I
am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you
labour in vain.
48-6:1 Brethren,
if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one
in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest
thou also be tempted.
48-6:12 As
many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be
circumcised; only lest they should suffer
persecution for the cross of Christ.
49-2:9 Not
of works, lest any man should boast.
50-2:27 For
indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him
only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow
upon sorrow.
51-2:4 And
this I say, lest any man should beguile you with
enticing words.
51-2:8 Beware
lest any man spoil you through philosophy and
vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and
not after Christ.
51-3:21 Fathers,
provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
52-3:5 For
this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and
our labour be in vain.
54-3:6 Not
a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he
fall into the condemnation of the devil.
54-3:7 Moreover
he must have a good report of them which are without; lest
he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
58-2:1 Therefore
we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
58-3:12 Take
heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an
evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
58-3:13 But
exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest
any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
58-4:1 Let
us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you
should seem to come short of it.
58-4:11 Let
us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest
any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
58-11:28 Through
faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch
them.
58-12:3 For
consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
58-12:13 And
make straight paths for your feet, lest that
which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
58-12:15 Looking
diligently lest any man fail of the grace of
God; lest any root of bitterness springing up
trouble you, and thereby many be
defiled;
58-12:16 Lest there be any
fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his
birthright.
59-5:9 Grudge
not one against another, brethren, lest ye be
condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
59-5:12 But
above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the
earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest
ye fall into condemnation.
61-3:17 Ye
therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these
things before, beware lest ye also, being
led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
66-16:15 Behold,
I come as a thief. Blessed is he that
watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk
naked, and they see his shame.
